Hello all. Couldn't see a new thread so thought I'd do the honours. Sorry for rubbish title, I'm no good at witty! :)

debs I just saw your DD on FB. You have a proper grown up teenager! Smile.

I already have 'prom fear' and it's 13yrs away (for DD).

Badvoc · 06/07/2012 21:11

It's ok for me...just a tux needed for my boys!
I def think its the weather...so many kids off at ds1s school....

Debs75 · 07/07/2012 19:56

Thanks Meglet it was a teary moment seeing her like that, a not so little princess.
Badvoc the boys did look nice in their tux's

Meglet · 08/07/2012 22:06

bookmarking. I'm in my last week or so of my OU module.

In my defence I've just managed 2 hours this evening and I have a day off this week to tie up the loose ends. It's been harder to fit it in than I expected.

Bbbbbee · 09/07/2012 10:43

Oh don't say that meg...am hoping to restart mine in oct! :)
Now ds1 is I'll...tonsillitis and I am trying to convince myself that my throat is not stating to feel strange.
It's not!!It's not!
:(
Hols in north yorks aren't looking so good ATM...I wonder if I could build an ark!?
:)

Bbbbbee · 09/07/2012 10:43

Opps it's me badvoc!
Sorry.

CappuccinoCarrie · 09/07/2012 12:59

badvoc my bit of north yorkshire is fine and dandy! Except my back garden though, we're thinking of growing rice in it Grin
I've come down with tonsilitis now :( Thankfully not feeling too bad in myself as DH is completely over capacity at work and would find it very hard to take the day off to look after the DCs. I've eaten lots of chilli nachos today to try and take away the taste in my mouth. Time for another cup of tea and some paracetamol. Bleugh.

DebiTheScot · 09/07/2012 15:50

Bookmarking as not been here for ages. Am in warm waiting room of doc surgery (infected insect bite) trying not to fall asleep after a very good but exhausting and long weekend at a friend's wedding in beyond the middle of nowhere on the north west coast of Scotland.

Badvoc · 09/07/2012 16:01

Carrie ooh where abouts are you?
We are off to a little place between Scarborough and Whitby...it's our 5th year now!
Toby is so excited :)

Badvoc · 09/07/2012 16:02

Argh bloody iPad!
Sorry you are I'll too...ds1 was really poorly on Saturday :(
Debs hope the leg doesn't turn green and fall off! :)

Meglet · 09/07/2012 18:41

bbbbbeee I think it would be more do-able if I didn't work or had a DH. Working and being on my own has really scuppered most of my studying time, especially when a certain little girl thinks it's funny to run riot all evening so I can't even get my dinner until late Hmm.

debi hope your leg is ok.

Debs75 · 09/07/2012 19:41

Badvoc We love it up near Scarborough even if it is very hilly.
Meglet we are coming down your neck of the woods in August so hoping the weather has sorted itself by then.

Had my first day of college induction today, seriously 3 days to do an induction which last year was a 3 hour thing. It involved a treasure hunt of the college and the start of a study skills module. Have scared myself for September as it is a huge commitment and a lot of work, assignments are given out from about day 3 and I have to get level 3 distinctions in at least 3/4 of them to get into Uni. I may have to forsake mn for quite a while

CappuccinoCarrie · 10/07/2012 13:25

badvoc i'm in York :)
Have you been to Sandsend? Very lovely. And Filey Brigg good for rock pooling and adventure - seaside without the tat Grin

Badvoc · 10/07/2012 14:02

Dh wants to go to filey this time and we might go to the transport museum in york on the way home...

Meglet · 10/07/2012 21:45

debs Gosh, I hope the weather is better by then too. Although my mum confidently said today that it would start to improve as the scorching heat wave 'high' that was over the USA is starting to shift (which I understand it is) and that should have a knock on effect on our bad weather. And my boss said today that maybe the weather is getting all the bad stuff out of the way now and it will be gorgeous for the Olympics and kids school hols!

carrie I've never been to Yorkshire, I should visit really as my late Grandad grew up in Holmfirth. He had a flat cap and watched cricket, and would occasionally refer to us as 'southern softies' (despite the fact he had lived in Hampshire since he was about 16!).

CappuccinoCarrie · 11/07/2012 20:53

I'm convinced it'll be gorgeous in the school holidays, after all it only really rains during the school run!

Badvoc · 11/07/2012 20:57

We are getting excited now...we are staying in a train carriage converted into self catering accommodation :)
Prefect for train mad dh and dcs....
We are planning lots of rainy day stuff to do too...hoping to get to fountains abbey at some point as its free as we are NT members.
No doubt we will end up at the sea life centre again at some point!!

notcitrus · 12/07/2012 13:46

Bookmarking.
Enjoy your holiday badvoc.

I saw a thread on MN last week about Cerazette causing bad depression. Stopped taking it. Now not depressed. Very, very thankful to have figured that out - still not 100% but I think we'll be OK now. MrNC is incredibly relieved.

Fingers crossed..

Badvoc · 12/07/2012 13:52

That's great news NC
It didn't suit me either!
Had a coil fitted 2 months ago....

notcitrus · 12/07/2012 21:30

Had a coil fitted on Tuesday along with a smear test. Was pleasantly surprised to find the whole thing 100% pain free!

I've been doing postnatal Pilates which R finds most entertaining, and reduced my waist by about 4 inches in two weeks. The SPD has gone but I need to build up fitness still. And lose a stone or two. I can start trying to run again next month ad she's 5 months now. Just learnt to roll over and pick things up to her mouth. She's lovely but it's been a horrible couple months.

A meanwhile is now obsessed with sea creatures and other animals and has embarked on the 'why???' phase... on the whole I'm still finding it endearing...

Badvoc · 12/07/2012 21:33

So lovely to hear you sounding so much more positive...4 inches in 2 weeks!!? What is this Pilates of which you speak?

Meglet · 12/07/2012 21:34

oh yes, I had cerzarette after having DS 5yrs ago and I went a bit loopy for a few weeks. After a quick google (possibly my first searches on MN) and some umming and aahhing I decided to stop it and perked up within a few days.

CappuccinoCarrie · 13/07/2012 14:15

Good to see you back NC, so glad you found the cause of your depression and could fix it so easily. And I'm very impressed at the waist line improvement, was it a DVD or do you go to a class?

Debs75 · 13/07/2012 14:23

NC I was on cerazette a few years ago and I hated it, was very out of sorts and much better when stopped taking it. I have the implant now which after a few settling in problems is fine, no bleeding and no weight gain. Would love to try pilates, I desperately need to tone up and lose some more inches.

notcitrus · 13/07/2012 16:19

Carrie - its a postnatal class I go to, between 4 and 8 women a week so far, babies welcome. First couple weeks I felt the next day like I'd been hit all over - youre doing really small movements repeatedly so don't really notice at the time esp as you're lying down for half of it. My kind of exercise! The rapid improvement says more about how saggy my waist muscles had got, though.

Thing with Cerazette is I took it after A was born and was pretty much fine, but I do have history of taking drugs once OK and second time having v bad reactions. I do hope that's all it was - I did eventually have CBT with a very nice woman who repeated everything I said back at me and clearly had no other clue apart from giving out booklets. Though I have been referred to some disability employment specialists who may have some clue about something. And had long chat with new GP who said would support me in a DLA claim and if necessary taking work to a tribunal. Which was nice. Suppose I'd better try finishing that form sometime. As the cliche goes, if you aren't depressed when you start a DLA claim form, you will be when you finish.
