Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StoneBaby · 24/02/2012 19:48

Just read this. I can easily recognise myself in some descriptions Grin

StoneBaby · 24/02/2012 19:52

I obviously mean the 1st page as after it goes into a fight...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 24/02/2012 19:59

Thanks everyone!

Hello rainbow!

SB a MN thread descending into a scrap...? You DO surprise me Grin

Bc eek, that does feel like it's gone quickly, wow! How are you feeling in general?

I've got the consultant appointment next week, PA. I may have to take DD, but it would be a bummer for her because once again, the appointment means getting there in the rush hour, so well over an hour stuck in the car. We shall see...

Mous, what a horrid situation for you to be stuck in. Almost unbelievable in some respects Angry

BabyGiraffes · 24/02/2012 20:22

PA Fab, thanks! dd1 has to bring in a cupcake decorated with a Welsh theme on Monday and it's going to be judged in a competition Hmm. I hope they let her eat it afterwards because ours won't win any prizes Grin. Thinking of letting her attempt a daffodil with marzipan/icing sugar and yellow and green food colouring...

Smile
LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 25/02/2012 06:46

IC I did all my appointment alone for DD2 and it was easier too. Even if DD1 was already 4.5.
DD2 felt like a hurricane inside. May be you can drink camomile Brew and listen to soothing music all the time? Otherwise if it is a girl, Kari means "gust of wind" in Old Norse (DH vetoed it, but it is still so fitting! It can mean curly hair too). Great news.

rainbow Hi how are you? They refused to go up to actually check.
Anyway I think it is sorted now but I did pay for 6 people this month. I think I will deduce it from the last rent before we leave if nothing has happened by then. I am calming down anyway. [zen emoticon]

DD1 had religion questions at school by her peers. Do you eat pork? "yes" You don't have your ears pierced, do you? "no". So you are not muslim and not orthodox, so what are you? "I am balanced" Grin [proud emoticon] Which prove that 7 is too young to understand anything about religion.

BG Grin may be there is a kelp cupcake recipe somewhere, the agar in the algae should replace the egg.

So 4h yesterday 5h30 the day before and today it has been like that for a few weeks now. Would it be cruel if I tape DD2 in bed? with a muzzle?

TBH we should put her in a toddler bed now as she climbs easily out of the cot, and it is too small, but the cost of buying a new bed for DD1 that we may have to sell soon...

BC that is quick, probably not for you though. It is good news too. Good luck with CP.

SconesForTea · 25/02/2012 12:49

Very quickly as I feed DD2 and can take a

SconesForTea · 25/02/2012 12:53

legitimate break from polyfilla-ING.

Great news IC. Big grin.

Bethy, I think your day yesterday (day before?) Sounds incredibly traumatic. Big big hugs. Your DH should have stayed on to comfort you. Just cos others' DHs are worse doesn't mean yours can do less (IYSWIM).

Mous glad you're feeling zen.

Waves to everyone else. I'm feeling less stressed today for some reason. Maybe cos we have really started packing now and I think we can do it.

SconesForTea · 25/02/2012 12:54

Sorry for brusque tone! And typos. In a hurry on phone...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 25/02/2012 13:09

Mous I think "gust of wind" applies more to me at the moment than the fetus Blush
Glad to hear your rent situation looks to be sorted. Can't be a pleasant feeling knowing one of your neighbours is so malicious, though.
Had to laugh at you taping DD2 to the bed! Have you tried a sleep-training clock? Those early mornings sound dreadful.....

Scone good to hear you being more positive!! Good luck with the Polyfilla-ing!

StoneBaby · 25/02/2012 13:39

Well we are a few quids lighter today as our washing machine died this morning Sad while on so trip to the shop to buy a new one. It's already on its 2nd load Shock

The island has been stuck with fog for the last 3 days inc today so no post or planes. And it's not a weather to put an active boy out so today we've done face painting and duplo tower building... And it's only 1.30pm we may bake later on.

Waves to everybody

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 25/02/2012 14:09

oops IC sorry to hear that but I had to laugh Grin.

scones Glad to hear your are filling positive. Yeah, good luck with the polyphylla (it is the thing to fill holes and grout ins't it?), I hope you have some help.

We are trying the big girl things tonight. We convinced DD1 that it would be fun to take the guest bed/sofa for herself, and she had kindly donated her toddler bed to DD2. So after bit of moving around, DD1 has a giant bed and DD2 finally looks smaller Wink. I hope she will stay in it, she was like that Grin trying it out though.

DD2 is lovely at the moment but awfully bossy in the mornings (which I already say are insanely early), and also really into "tinkering".
Today she put her potty on her head after flushing the pee in the toilet mind you! She likes touching the pee and sniffing (TMI sorry, I bet you she will have a taste too Confused). She has unscrewed the radiator purge (yes you heard no key just a screw cap), cue geyser in the room! She has try to put cotton wool, a plastic fork (thanks god!) and a bakugan into electric plugs. Drew on few more walls and sheets... The day is not finished yet! She used to licked the snow of our boots too (which might have started the all story with the neighbours as I had to let the shoes dry outside the door).

DD1 used to make a lot of noise when doing something so I always knew exactly when she was doing something wrong. I didn't have MN either Hmm

On a worse mother note, I have also introduced DD1 to MN and she is having a pen pal PM thingy with another little girl and really enjoying it. I will have to be careful she does stray because her reading is really catching up.

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 25/02/2012 14:10

DOHHH she doesn't stray.... Hmm Blush

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 25/02/2012 15:25

Forgot to say she had also bite of the tip of felt pen I gave her this morning to draw (nicely on paper for once).
She has now tipped her milk in a crevasse in the floor and was licking it only her little finger will fit in there so it must be really really dirty.
And she ate all the connecting pieces of one of her sister jigsaw... Gahhh.

She is now stomping around, half skipping, half wobbling, circling her arms saying "humpa humpa, ..." I am ROFL as she does look like an humpa lumpa. It is all natural as well as she has never seen the film Grin.

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 15:56

Mous For her to think of so much mischief is a sign of great intelligence! Grin

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 25/02/2012 15:57

GGAaaaahhh she just poured water in her snow boots. What is going on today? is it too early for Wine?

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 16:10

Not too early where you are Grin Wine

StoneBaby · 25/02/2012 16:12

mous have Wine or gin. You well deserve it (and no it's not too early)

We have made chocolate and vanilia cupcakes. I'll do the frosting by myself tonight but will you believe that the twirling of the 2 mix are best on the ones DS did!

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 16:20

We made chocolate muffins (the recipe works PA, although I used 1/4 only to make four large muffins). dd1 also made grass and a daffodil out of marzipan with food colouring and I think it is pretty good (although dh pretended not to recognise it as a daffodil Angry). Well, it's not perfect but I'm refusing to get competitive with the other mothers! The competition is for the children to decorate a cupcake/muffin (some of the stuff I have seen in previous projects is beyond belief and it's pretty obvious no child came anywhere near it!)

StoneBaby · 25/02/2012 16:22

I agree that we need a like button for MN post.

BG great that you made the muffins and your DD1 did the decoration

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 16:51

dd1 made the muffins herself, too, (apart from the oven bit and also had help in measuring things) Smile dd2 helped by very nicely sitting at the table playing picture pairs by herself and not bothering us Blush. Actually, that child is a little too bookish for me - maybe we should mix them up a bit mous. dd2 likes nothing better than sit in her room looking at her books or doing jigsaws or doing matching/opposites etc games. This she got very cross with her big sister who was bouncing on our bed and on us - dd2 felt disturbed by the hopping because she was sitting between me and dh trying to look at a book Grin. She now likes to take a book along on the school run so she can 'read' in the pushchair or in the car Hmm.

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 16:52

'this morning'

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 17:09

Oh and she will also go into dd1's room, tell her sister it's messy in there and start tidying up! Grin I think your dd2 is more normal than mine mousWink

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 18:41

The good thing about dd2 refusing a nap this lunchtime is that she seemed relieved just now to be able to snuggle up under her duvet. She's gone to sleep in about 3 minutes! Grin One down, one to go...

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 25/02/2012 20:14

Yay IC. Very pleased to hear all is well.

Mous glad to hear that I am not the only one still being given a run for my money by the LOs! BG I can't magine having a child like that. Can I hire her?!

Glad to hear you are having a good day Scones. We've had a good day too. Been to the Cotswold Wildlife Park-where I went frequently as a child-and had a lovely day with dh and boys. Warm enough to eat our picnic in the sun too. Ds2 decided later that his favourite animal was the pineapple! Took dd1 to decipher this-he meant porcupine!!

Then this evening he got out of a long bath with crinkly fingers and said, "Mummy, my fingers are melting!" Loving them all today! Having a wine, curry and movie night with dh now to help us chill out and reconnect.

BabyGiraffes · 25/02/2012 20:42

SOTU have a wine on me Smile. Sounds like a lovely day! Happy to lend my bookworm to anyone wanting to experience a cheeky but quiet dd Grin. Mind you I just had a new experience. Dd2 started screaming and I went up to see her but she wasn't awake and not responding to me at all. Seemed like a night terror (my younger brother had that a lot at this age). Luckily she calmed down quickly and is sleeping peacefully again.
