scones your DD2's birthday party sounds lovely. We all have years of hideously enormous and expensive birthdya celebratiosns to go, so let's enjoy the little ones while they are just that. Hope you are feeling OK, btw. I can't say more than BG and IC on that. And good luck with the move!

IC I think you are at the same point of pregnancy as one of my good RP mum chums who had her scan today. She's due on Sep 1. All went well today and she's currently lapping up the attention on FB, bless her!

Not only did DD sleep through last night but she woke at 7am. She still has bags under her eyes but maybe we're turning a corner bar more illness with her. DS is loads better as well and only had a mild fever post jabs.

scones agree, worth checking whether it could be mis-directed PND. Good luck with the move and yes agree with your 'what if pg' statement.

We used the left over pancake mixture last night for savoury crepes. If a un-sugared, un-filled pancake counts then DD had two savoury ones Grin

I am still very angry, because the administrator doubt me. He said I know you are lying, we have neighbours who report Shock. Welcome to communism upbringing. And apparently my words are not good enough, and no they don't believe me. And there is not really anything I can do to make them do. Not inviting friends around for meals, no baby groups, no shoes (yes! you read right, we apparently have too many shoes for 4 people) Angry, the cleaning lady is already gone due to budget restrictions.
I complained to the landlord she will write a letter to the administration. but I can see us being spied on by the neighbours for a long time now.

It is a bit Sad I am really fed up now, the job hunt is going really badly and that is not helping. I am getting too stressed, and DH refused to discuss plan B or C. He is sure it will get better around april I am looking for jobs myself but it is very demoralising (nothing is coming up). Plan C is going back to the UK, in our house which is rented at the moment and which we are having problems with too. GAAAHhhh.

scones I am an expert packer/mover. I can come if you want? (I can't carry though because of diastasis)
I agree with IC and BG, you know you can have undiagnosed PND from your 1st pregnancy. Just get it checked! It is a pity you are so far because I have a fantastic MW here whom you can tell anything
Your DD1 birthday sounds lovely. They don't need big parties yet.

PA good. DD2 doesn't eat pancakes. said "yuck!"

IC good luck, I will be thinking of you.

mous I can't believe they are going on how many shoes you have, as opposed to living breathing people!

PA glad things are getting healthier for you. Here it is a lovely sunny day and I am daring to think that spring may be coming, and winter with all its horrible viruses may be on the way out :)

(looks at dd1's shoes and wonders where to find sleeping space for the extra five children that evidently live here...Angry)

PenguinArmy · 23/02/2012 19:27

I wouldn't have said the weather was lovely but it was warm. The afternoon playgroup is set in a pre-school venue so we went outside in their garden which was filled with lots of treats for DD. Combined with a 4 hour stretch of sleep last night, today has been a lovely day.

BabyGiraffes · 23/02/2012 19:43

PA I need a 'like' button on MN Smile Glad you had a good day Smile

Mous If I remember rightly your house here is between me and IC so we'd practically be neighbours Grin. I guess it would not be your preferred option though (hides selfish emoticon) Wink

BabyGiraffes · 23/02/2012 19:46

BBB Are you okay? That bug sounds vicious!

IC Good luck tomorrow Smile

Waving at everyone else.. On phone trying not to burn dinner...

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 23/02/2012 20:54

Sounds vile BBB. Hope no-one else catches it either. Does it perhaps sound llike you had eaten something dodgy? Hope you'll feel better after a good night tonight. (sleepwise...)

Scones keep on being honest - that's what we're all here for. I have had some very down 'moments' in the last three and a half years and have often wondered if PND was at the root of it. I have ploughed on without medical advice but often wonder whether this has been a mistake. Maybe BG or others could tell us the difference between feeling so tired (and tearful) that you can't go on/see the wood for the trees etc.. and true depression? I am in absolutely no way trying to make light of PND, just not clear where the boundaries are. I could certainly answer a lot of the PND questionnaire questions positively at times and yet never felt properly suicidal etc.. I have three times been driving and wondered if the boys would be better if I just didn't go home anymore (and one of these occasions was in the last couple of months). At the moment I crave a break (and read on our facebook group for today's amusement, although I have found it traumatic and am trying to make light of it as I can see the funny side!!) and am not being very easy to live with. I can't even remember how I felt in the first few months of having both DS, and yet I know that I always needed to go back to work for my own sanity. I was sometimes jealous of DH going to work (and it still happens!) I'm not saying this to detract from the support you need right now on here, just to show you that I think I do have a fairly good idea of how you are feeling and I'm sending some unmumsnetty hugs (and Wine and chocolate which will have much more of an effect!!) Try to get some fresh air each day, take a few minutes off childcare/packing etc.. to breathe and relax, and remind yourself that you will survive this period and it will get easier (and somehow you will get everything packed in time). And I'd say go to the doc too, but I can't really talk as I didn't take this advice myself!!

Mous that sounds like an unbelievable way of assessing things. I'd be throwing things at the officials I think, as well as any neighbours I suspected of spying!! Suspect the root of the problem lies in having two DD Grin. When you have two DS and absolutely no fashion sense yourself, they have a pair of shoes and a pair of wellies each!! Hope things start to ease for you soon and DH's crystal ball proves to be acccurate.

PA glad to hear things are on the up. Sounds like you've had a lovely afternoon. I found our gluten and dairy free panackes worked but only if hey were huge and use a lot more oil to stop them sticking. Did you have a particular recipe? I just used our ingredients in the normal recipe and used a bit less 'milk' as it seemed too watery.

Need to go and be nice to DH, even though he forgot about my appointment today, and went to football despite me being at the end of my tether when he got home from work. Sad Can't help thinking I am still being unreasonable though, particularly when I hear about all my RL friends' DHs.

PenguinArmy · 23/02/2012 21:06

beth this is what we used for the past two years, although used oat milk instead of soy. If you have a blender it's fine, but was rather time consuming last year doing it by hand.

Basic Crêpes
Makes 8-10

1/2 Cup Soymilk
2/3 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Earth Balance, melted
1 Cup Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
1 Tbs Sugar (sweet crepes only, optional)
2 tsp Vanilla Extract (sweet crepes only, optional)
2 Tbs Water, to thin if needed

Place all the ingredients in a blender or in a bowl. Blend or whisk until smooth. Transfer to a 2 Cup measuring cup (for pouring) and refrigerate for 30 minutes

earth balance is just a brand of US vegan margarine

I assumed everyone had those moments of wondering if they are better off without you. There was a point last year where I think I should have had help but being in the states stopped me. Been OK this time around, don't necessarily find it hard, more all consuming.

PenguinArmy · 23/02/2012 21:09

I can't compare to 'normal' pancakes though as I hadn't had any on over 10 years.

StoneBaby · 23/02/2012 21:41

IC fx for tomorrow

Mous Angry

bethy My DS has 3 pairs of shoes and a pair of snow boots (needed when we went to my mum for Christmas).

scones like the others advised.

BBB I hope you're feeling better today.

Well I scanned another 200 slides I should be done by the end of next week!

BabyGiraffes · 23/02/2012 23:12

IC pictures please of dd with her new haircut!! Smile

BabyGiraffes · 24/02/2012 13:16

dd2 is having a proper toddler day.... numbers of things gone flying today: 1 bowl of weetabix with banana, a few raisins, two cups of water, 1 plate of pasta, another cup of water. Total eaten today: A few raisins for breakfast and one digestive biscuit for midmorning snack. She is now in her cot and very vocal about how much she thinks that's a bad idea. She is also shouting for her favourity cuddly toy - which she dropped on the muddy ground four or five times this morning, so it's gone for a ride in the washing machine.
My day started well but deteriorated when I noticed I have another flat tyre (second in as many months). Dh thinks I am too cynical but I wonder if this is no coincidence and someone is having a laugh.

BabyGiraffes · 24/02/2012 13:23

PA I don't suppose you have a vegan cup cake/muffin recipe? (I am trying to avoid eggs mainly...)

InmaculadaConcepcion · 24/02/2012 13:57

Thanks for the good luck wishes Smile

...and it's good news (phew).

One very active fetus clearly visible in the scan and measuring 13 weeks and 5 days - so I'm a good week and a half further on than I thought (I was two weeks out in my estimates for DD, so it seems to be par for the course with me..!) Two days later and I wouldn't have been able to have the T1 screening.
That, of course is the next obstacle - I'm now hoping I won't have a phonecall from the specialist midwife in the middle of next week. I went through all that with DD and don't want to again, if I can help it.

The nuchal fold measurement was about bang in the middle of the normal range, so no clues there, really. It took two trips to the loo from me until the sonographer could get a measurement as my bladder was too full Blush
"Can you empty half of it out, please?" she asked. How can you tell you've done half your wee?!!

I'm now convinced I have been feeling small fetal movements. Before the scan, I suspected we would see an extremely wriggly fetus as that's what it feels like, and so we did. DD was much more laid back, she had to be nudged very firmly before she would change position so the sonographer could get a decent picture. This one wouldn't stay still for two seconds.

DD stayed at home 'cos DH doesn't have a lesson first thing today, so was allowed to go in a bit later. I opted not to bring them along as a dull trek across town in the rush hour both ways wouldn't have led to a happy toddler and I think I made the right decision for all our stress levels.

Made DD sweetcorn fritters for lunch (which became sweetcorn pancakes because the mixture was too stiff, so I added milk) and she loved them. The sweetcorn was whizzed up, which is probably why she ate it happily. She doesn't like it whole. Still, nice to have a variation on a theme that she likes and is easy to throw together.

Great news, IC - so glad the scan was reassuring. Fingers crossed for the blood tests.

I am well, nothing interesting to report really. Spent yesterday morning posing for maternity photos for a friend of mine who is a photographer and wanted a few more shots for her portfolio (she specialises in maternity, newborn and BFing pics). It will be nice for us to have some pics too - she's going to give us prints at cost price and she does loads of intricate photoshopping to make everyone look great. DH's mum came down for yesterday afternoon and this morning, she's gone now. DS was v. happy to see her.

I listed some stuff on ebay on Tuesday and it turns out that this weekend is another free listings weekend. Grr. Also I didn't realise they take 10% of the final sale price as well. I think that's taking the piss.

Did a courgette and aubergine risotto today - one you bake in the oven rather than stir for an hour, it came out nice.

DS was exposed to chickenpox on Tues, so probably will get it this time as the other little boy already had spots on his body when they were playing together (his mum didn't think it was chickenpox as he was well in himself.) I guess it is best to get it over with before the baby arrives. I'm immune.

I am 33 weeks tomorrow, so only 6 weeks to go until my caesarian at 39 weeks.

IC Grin Great news!

bc Shock only 6 weeks, it went quick (for me reading anyway Grin )

PenguinArmy · 24/02/2012 19:23

how about this? The ingredients are pretty pantry standard stuff.

tbh the cookbook with the ones I use is still in storage

PenguinArmy · 24/02/2012 19:25

obviously that was for BG

IC really pleased at your news. I did all my UK scans/appointments on my own bar the consultant visit, it was just easier.

BC I think I was moaning all over this thread in my pg. You are a lot more dignified than me, good luck over the next few weeks.

PenguinArmy · 24/02/2012 19:25

Oh my Anthony Nolan card arrived this morning, I am now on the register.

rainbowweaver · 24/02/2012 19:43
