PA I like the sound of your dinner. Grin

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 22/05/2012 22:36

Wanted to run in and say hi. I've just read to catch up but really need to go to bed.

BBB good news on the potty training. We also are now officially there - DS2 is in pants all the time time (except naps) and has had fully dry days at nursery and home which is great. Glad to hear that DH is stepping up. Long may it last.

PA well done on getting the interview. You will be great!

IC glad the ankle is okay and your childcare situation for the arrival of DS is now sorted.

SB it's lovely to see their imaginations developing isn't it?

BG DS2 is still in his cot after one night in a bed last year. I tried him in DS1's bed for his nap on Saturday with the promise that he could have the bars off if it worked out - he showed that he is still not ready. How very grown up of your DD2 to ask for the side back on!!

BC Sorry to hear you are feeling very tired (though not surprised when you are doing all the nights - much kinder than I was to my DH!!) It definitely gets easier in some ways (and then they go and change, just when you think you've mastered something!!) I'd still like to do some scientific experiments to see if there are harder or easier combinations of sibling genders. Either my boys are bloody hard work or I'm rubbish!! They continue to fight or, alternatively, get each other wound up into a completely over-excited frenzy, which is equally exhausting! In addition, work is taking over my life again and will do so now for the next few weeks. My weekend away in April seems like years ago! I discovered this morning that DH 'does not rush' in the mornings - hence it takes him 70mins to get himself up, put a few bowls ec.. out for breakfast and get to work. In 90 mins, on a work day, I run around the house, get both boys and myself up, ready and out the door. He'll definitely live longer than me, and I hope he has realised today that the balance is not currently very fair! I just kind of assumed he was rushing too!

Sorry, complete mind dump there. I'm too tired to reread and apologise for 'me' post and to anyone I've forgotten. Back when I resurface at some point. Can do Wednesday or Thursday in half term but do need a decision if poss so I can let nursery know which day DS2 will do that week. I'll put it up on facebook again.

Urgh, dd2 did an asparagus wee Grin

survival your description of your dh in the morning made me smile... My dh gets up just before us, has breakfast on his own in peace while reading a paper/magazine while listening to the radio. He makes coffee and leaves me a cup (despite me constantly telling him I want at least 1 1/2 cups). Then he disappears into the bathroom for anything up to 45 minutes for a bath or shower. Then he gets dressed and goes to work, kissing us goodbye on the way out.
I think he has it a little easy?
Meanwhile I rush around to at least have a wash, get both dds up (who inexplicably need to be woken during the week but get up early at the weekend), make both girls cereal, then make myself toast. By the time I have made my toast and a fruit snack for dd1 for school, the girls have finished their cereal and demand their share of my toast. Then upstairs for me to get dressed, get dd2 changed and dressed, help dd1 dress (she's in a 'please help me' phase - that's the same girl who did fashion shows in her room aged 2...). Then I have to negotiate how to do dd1's hair that day, catch dd2 who is running riot, get them to brush their teeth and do mine, throw some make up on my face and brush my own hair (if I'm lucky), shout at dd1 to please put her shoes on.... and rush out the door to get to school on time. I am usually rattled by the time I leave the house Grin

Bearcrumble · 23/05/2012 18:44

We had asparagus yesterday too!

StoneBaby · 23/05/2012 20:18

DS doesn't like asparagus (I do Grin)

Well I've took out of the freezer my 3 cakes, done a coffee icing, I have a bread dough and a bacon scone dough prooving: I'm getting ready for the cake sale on Friday (and fx my colleagues are going to bring some cakes Hmm). Only problem is how I'm going to carry them to work!? I think one batch tomorrow and the rest on Friday.

DS is tonight using his duvet and he's out of his sleeping bag. I'll go and check on him when I'll go to bed to make sure he's under the cover.

We're ready in 30 mn in the morning, but we don't have breakfast so it saves time. DH spent an average of 30mn in the bath in the morning so luckly I'm up before him.

BabyGiraffes · 23/05/2012 21:22

Read my post back and realised I'd been a bit harsh... What I described is on those days where dh has to leave early, the girls have a lie in, and I can't get myself out of bed either Grin. If he gets up and one or both of the girls are awake he takes one/both downstairs and gives them cereal, of course. But he does like to take his time in the bathroom which makes me Envy because I am rarely organised enough to fit a shower in. And if I get up earlier it backfires on me because the girls hear me in the bathroom and start shouting for me or want something, so I don't get a shower either... Hmm

SB Hmmm, cake... Grin

StoneBaby · 23/05/2012 21:46

BG I'm impressed! I will leave DS to call/scream the time that I shower as I need this to become human again each morning (and also I spent a maximum of 10 mn in the bathroom each morning)

BabyGiraffes · 23/05/2012 22:27

SB I can do without the shower but need coffee to become human in the morning Grin. Preferably two large mugs Confused

dd2 refused to sleep at lunchtime yesterday and today and I fear this is a new pattern and she has very much outgrown her lunchtime sleep I really enjoyed my hour of peace and quiet with a nice cup of tea and some biscuits. Much harder now when dd2 is roaming around the house at lunchtime, getting suspiciously quiet every so often (usually while in dd1's room!) Shock

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 24/05/2012 10:53

I can now shower, wash and condition hair, shave pits and wash all over in 4 mins! Sometimes boys let me do this while they are up and awake. Other times I have to separate them beforehand or jump out half way through! DH, who is rather lacking in hair on top, takes double that.

This morning a sofa repair man arrived while I was bra-less and make up-less in my pjs and hoovering! When asked what his name was by said bloke,ds2 replied, "Number 2!" Time to give up trying to speak cryptically to dh me thinks!!

BabyGiraffes · 24/05/2012 13:55

'Number 2' Grin That's worse than calling dd2 'the baby' Grin

BigBadBear · 24/05/2012 14:48

I call my girls 1 and 2 Grin

OP posts:
LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 24/05/2012 17:16

Mine are "1st baby" and "little baby" Blush.

StoneBaby · 24/05/2012 18:01

What a 'heat wave' over here! It's still 25C, I'm so warm and I can't face doing any baking as I'll be melting.

I love the nickname your 2 DC have, Grin DS is 'the boy'

BabyGiraffes · 24/05/2012 18:03

I am considering thing one and thing two (dd1 is a little obsessed with reading The cat in the hat to dd2) but may get some Hmm looks in the park Grin

BabyGiraffes · 24/05/2012 18:05

SB my dh still calls dd1 'das Kind' (the child) which is how ds2 ended up as 'das Baby'...

BabyGiraffes · 24/05/2012 18:06

Help we are at 992 posts with this one. IC or BBB, could you do the honours again of starting a new thread?

BabyGiraffes · 24/05/2012 18:10
