InmaculadaConcepcion · 26/03/2012 08:34

Oh mous so sorry, I meant to send a get well soon to DD1 (and stay immune to DD2) - apologies for the oversight.

Yes, I'm definitely thinking about hypnobirthing this time round, Survival. I'm going to see what courses are available locally and how much they are - if they're prohibitive, I'll DIY. Glad you sorted things with DH. May the cake be splendid!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 26/03/2012 12:22

So DD1 has the flu! Really hope DD2 won't get it. She is better today at around 38/39C we went up to 40 this week end. FX the worse is done.
A bit Envy at your week end, soc love the lake pictures, SB Envy at the sea, fishes ...

Bearcrumble · 26/03/2012 16:48

Oh dear mous I am sorry - I hope she feels better soon.

IC - we did Hypnobirthing and although I ended up with an elective caesarian, it did help keep me calm while that was all going on.

I saw my consultant today and unfortunately my blood pressure has gone right up since last Monday. It was 105/70 then but today it was 142/89 - so he's started me on medication to bring it down and I am going back in on Wednesday at lunchtime. I don't know if you remember but with DS I had pregnancy induced hypertension and IUGR which all started at around 28 weeks so I've done a lot better to get this far. He scanned me and the baby is slightly above the 50th centile (estimated weight 7lb 3oz) and all the dopplers are fine. I shouldn't be worried but I did have a cry when I got home. I only have 10 days til my caesarian and I'm sure that if my consultant is at all concerned he will just bring it forward. I'm 37w 3d now so any time is fine.

StoneBaby · 26/03/2012 17:17

bc you've done so well, I know it's annoying but at least your consultant is monitoring you well and fx you may go until 39 weeks but even if she was to come out now, she'll be in great shape. (I hope this doesn't sound patronising).

mous boo to the flu. Don't be Envy at the sea, it has brought us sea fog for the last 2 days.

PenguinArmy · 27/03/2012 07:27

Bc as you say you are at term now, so not the same. Understand why you are emotional about it though.

The week at my ums isn't going to well as we have a DnV bug. Think I'm better but ds was spectacularly sick last night and nappies have started. Really hoping dd is ok. Does mean I am afraid to feed him though.

Mous how is dd1

InmaculadaConcepcion · 27/03/2012 07:47

I'm sure it'll be fine, Bc - but don't blame you for having emotional moments about it. You're almost there.... x

Oh bah, PA, what a shame. I hope it passes quickly. Sad

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 27/03/2012 08:14

BC It is normal to be worried, hope all is well, and you are at term now so it will be very different than what you had with your DS. DD2 was born around those dates.
PA sorry you are sick!
DD1 is better, will be back at school thursday (but I am already regretting that decision! should have said tomorrow)

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 27/03/2012 08:17

SB still Envy the sea and seafood even with fog... Grin I am "home"sick, I would give an arm for a day at a cold windy beach (in the sun) and eating some prawns or good fresh fish

SconesForTea · 27/03/2012 12:17

Hi everyone, wow where do I start...

IC great news on the amnio. Good luck for the full results (and the flavour!). And massive congrats to MrIC on the job - brilliant news!

BBB glad your op went ok and I hope you are doing lots of resting!

Mous very glad that DD1 is better and FX DD2 escapes. It really sounds that you have enough on your plate at the moment Sad I would be very frustrated in your position and probably in full-blown panic mode actually. It sounds as if you are coping amazingly well with some really tough stresses.

PA Sad at the DnV esp when you should be enjoying time with your mum (and hopefully relaxing a little as she does some childcare...?). Hope it passes (no pun intended Confused) quickly. Get well vibes wafting your way.

bc bad news on the bp and big ((hugs)). Of course you are worried, it's what we mums do, but as everyone else has said, even if baby did arrive now she would be just fine. Hang on in there. (Not a lot else you can do at this stage of pg...)

Survival you continue to amaze and privately ashame me with your sterling efforts with your boys (and also your DH). No wonder you got the hump with him, but very pleased it's all sorted. And I am very pleased you're having a weekend away with your friend - you thoroughly deserve it. My advice would be travel as little as you possibly can, spend the time THERE and RELAXING! When I was pg with DD2 I went for a weekend break with my sisters in the next village Grin No kids and minimum travel time.

SC how was the wedding? What a glorious day for it (here on the South Coast, anyway).

SB am I too late for one of your cupcakes? Actually can I save it til I've got rid of my cold, can't taste a damn thing.

Abs wonderful to hear from you. I admire you for cooking with your DD. I let mine watch (and handle the odd bit of carrot peeling etc) but not get involved yet. I can't stand the mess!!! I know I will have to get used to it.

Hope the husbands' birthday weekends went well!

SconesForTea · 27/03/2012 12:28

As for us, well, we moved just over a fortnight ago and only got a landline and broadband at the weekend. My phone doesn't really work in this house Hmm so I've been without inet access at all. Fine in some ways (less procrastinating Blush) but a bit difficult to get the slightest thing done on a daily basis. It makes you realise how reliant we are on the net for just about everything.

The house is..... a complete state, but will be lovely at some distant point in the future. Right now I feel quite depressed if I venture into any room other than the kitchen (everything packed away, still messy though) and the playroom (full of toys so messy constantly); all the other rooms in the house are stuffed to the rafters with boxes, and until we get certain things done (loft insulated before we can put stuff in the loft etc) we just have to live with it. Hey ho. We will get there. Eventually.

So far we've discovered that we need our roof re-rendering (they are doing that right now - bang bang bang), and pretty much the whole of our water pipes replacing Shock Shock Shock We have no idea yet how much the pipes will cost. I thought we might be able to re-do the kitchen, but I am sorrowfully preparing myself to wave goodbye to that idea. The silver lining is HOPEFULLY that we have solid parquet flooring covered atm wtih horrible laminate, and if that's the case I can't wait to rip up the laminate and get it polished.

That's me, pretty dull sorry. DD1 is settling in much, much better at nursery which is such a relief. She skipped in quite happily yesterday afternoon with no tears Shock We have decided that she won't do a full afternoon just yet, but even a couple of hours gives me time to sweep the blimmin' laminate. Or wash up for the umpteenth time (oh, I miss my dishwasher, soooooooo much).

DD2 is going to bed earlier, about 8pm, but no longer sleeping through, I knew it couldn't last. Mind you she doesn't usually wake up until 5ish so not too bad I know, but those 12/13 hour stretches were glorious while they lasted.

I've got a cold and DH is working late every night this week and all weekend so I feel a bit overwhelmed at the thought of dealing with the DCs by myself all week but I know that some of you do it all the time and I take my hat off to you. It will take every ounce of willpower I have.

SconesForTea · 27/03/2012 12:29

Oh and no hint of potty usage here. DD1 will sit on it fully clothed, even naked, but then gets in the bath and wees as usual Hmm

InmaculadaConcepcion · 27/03/2012 16:23

Scones great to hear from you! It's very frustrating to be offline, isn't it? How on earth did we manage in the days before broadband??!! And I get your frustration about phone coverage, my mobile's rubbish at home too. And the boxes!! DH and I are contemplating house-buying in the next few months, not looking forward to that part....although it'll be ace to finally have our stuff out of the boxes it's been in since before we got married (almost exactly four years ago - it's our anniversary on Thurs).
Lovely to hear DD1 is settling into nursery, though. And bummer that DD2 is now being wakeful, although I'm guessing she's now in 4month sleep regression territory? Hopefully, she'll go back to sleeping through again once she's through it.

So...
We got the full results of the amnio today and everything is normal, which is great news and a huge relief.
AND
We're joining the boy club this time round!! Smile

StoneBaby · 27/03/2012 16:50

IC that's a great news and welcome to the club Grin

StoneBaby · 27/03/2012 16:53

Oops I posted too quickly

scones welcome back. Good luck with the unpacking. Great news that your DD1 is settling nicely at nursery

PenguinArmy · 27/03/2012 18:14

Knew it IC, right when you coming to get all this stuff then?

InmaculadaConcepcion · 27/03/2012 18:58

Thanks SB!

Heh PA!
How are your two today?

SocietyClowns · 27/03/2012 20:30

IC !!!!! Grin!!!!

AbsB · 27/03/2012 22:04

Great news IC Grin Grin More tomorrow... long, long day!

PenguinArmy · 27/03/2012 22:16

Dd was really pasty today but it didn't amount to anything so far. Ds seems to have recovered although he has only just gone to sleep. To get dd off I had to have all three of us in the bed, in fact that is how we have been spending our nights past about 12. I am also recovered, so am very grateful it appears to have been a mild one.

Scones that is still pretty good, hope the house comes together soonish for you. Ds averages every 2.5 hrs, although occasionally we get feeds at 9, 1 and 5. But we also have nights that are hourly.

SocietyClowns · 27/03/2012 22:37

Just put a pic on fb of us at the wedding. I ended up in the only dress I own because three dresses I bought (from the same person) on ebay never arrived Angry. dd2 had a hoot at our friends' wedding and partied late into the night (well, nearly 10.30 pm which is VERY late for a two year old who had only a brief nap during the day). She was very well behaved in church and just occasionally pointed and quietly confirmed that it was indeed our friend up there getting married Wink (We were right at the front because dh was down to read a poem). Back at the hotel overlooking one of the lakes dd2 then scoffed canapes by the handful, had a few glasses of orange juice, regally sat through dinner, ate soup, turned her nose up at the main course, and enjoyed her ice cream very much. So much so that she had an outfit change for the evening reception Wink. After a short sleep she was back on form and danced the night away. I lost sight of her at one point and found her on the dance floor holding hands with bride and groom!! It was a perfect day with stunning weather and we all enjoyed it very much. I paid for it with a stonking hangover today though because the charming waiters kept offering me glasses of champagne and topping up my wine glass... Grin

Bearcrumble · 27/03/2012 22:41

Wonderful news, IC. So pleased all is well and lovely that you're having a little boy. When is your EDD?

Soc - Cute picture. I like the girls' matching dresses. You look lovely.

We just had DH's cousin and her bf over for dinner. She's due to have her first baby at the end of April.

SocietyClowns · 28/03/2012 11:16

Only just catching up with this thread, so apologies for the 'me' post last night Smile. Manage to snatch the odd bit of internet in the Lake District, usually when up on a hill somewhere...

IC Fantastic news although I'm a bit disappointed I can't pass on a suitcase full of cute dresses... Grin Looking forward to seeing you with bump before long.

BC Sorry to hear about your bp. Hope your consultant visit goes well today and as everyone else has said your dd is technically full term now Smile.

mous Hope you and the rest of the family don't come down with flu! How is yoru dd1 now?

PA Pah on your ruined weekend! Hope you are all on the mend now.

Scones Lovely to hear from you and glad you are back online Smile. Your new house sounds amazing (once finished Wink). Hats off to you to move with two tiny ones!

BBB Are you fully recovered yet?

Waving at Abs, survival, SB... and everyone else. Hope you are making the most of the sunny weather Smile

StoneBaby · 28/03/2012 21:18

sc sounds like you had a good time.

IC at least now that you know the flavour you can start shopping for clothes (summer sale this year to buy stuff for next summer).

Waves to everybody else. Tired it's bedtime for me

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 28/03/2012 22:03

Hi all.
IC I'm so pleased to hear you got the all clear (and boys are great!) Until someone has two of them, I don't feel like any of you have had the full boy experience Grin!!

Scones Glad to hear you are well, have moved and that DD has settled at nursery. That still sounds pretty impressive to me on the sleep front! I hope the renovations go smoothly and that you manage to keep calm about it. We've pu off having an exension for a year as I think it might have been the straw that broke our camel's back at the moment! Thank you for the compliment - honestly, if you saw me day to day, I'm really doing nothing other than coping as anyone would have to in the circumstances.

SC haven't seen the photos yet but will try and look in a mo. Lovely to hear you've had a great time (and a hangover-what is that again?!!)

PA hope DD manages to keep clear of the bug and glad you and DS are better.

Have 'finished' work (at least technically speaking) for the two week break and am full of Wednesday night optimism!! Facing a day in tomorrow waiting for the climbing frame wood to arrive so it's bound to a)rain and b)be reasonably hellish!! Will report back if sanity remains intact! DS1 will be 4 on Saturday so have another cake to sculpt too!!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 29/03/2012 06:48

IC Grin
soc lovely picture! you all look fab Envy we have only 1 picture of DH me and DD1 when she was 1.5, none of all 4 together. Actually thinking about it I can't believe nobody bothered taking picture of us with our new babies (wether it was DD1 or 2).

Scones well done!

DD2 had a massive growth spurt she is around a meter high now Shock! I kept some lovely summer dresses thinking they will fit from last year . Lost at wether to buy 4 or 5 yo clothes now... she is already a 4 on top (long body) but 5 looks so big and grown up Confused

DD1 is back at school today, but very tired... will see. FX none of us has it.
