Thanks BBB! IC whoopee!

Phew! I've just finished sticking 400 stickers! My mum bought a book for DS about animals which is made of 400 animals stickers to go on various pages depending where they live... As he is obsessed with stickers I thought the best thing for not finding them stuck on everything expect the book wasting them was to stick them myself. Why did I think it'll not not take long? Hmm

BBB thanks for the cake.

mous your DD2 is about 12cm taller rhan my DS (I measured him last week and he was 88cm)

I wonder how .fc and rainbow are doing?

StoneBaby · 30/03/2012 17:57

Where is everybody? Enjoying the sun I guess Grin

DS had a wee in the potty today Shock 1st since December. fx it'll continue despites been away next week.

PenguinArmy · 30/03/2012 19:09

I was driving home, which almost didn't happen as had a upset stomach again today.

we made it back OK though and DD ran around outside for 90 mins to compensate the car journey.

StoneBaby · 30/03/2012 21:10

PA Get better soon

IC at least you eon't have a hangover tomorrow Grin I hope you're having a great night out.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 31/03/2012 08:21

Thanks SB! It was lovely to get out with DH for a few hours. We went to see a dance production, then had a drink together afterwards (ginger beer, in my case!). In the end, we got back earlier than we'd planned (can't take the pace any more) and our teenage babysitter was fine, DD hadn't played up. It was a good job we did get back early because DD had a nightmare and woke up crying for me shortly after (quick cuddle and she was straight back to sleep) but overall, a successful experiment, we'll do it again!! Smile

Not much to report here, really. DD had her first experience (for ages) of hard-boiled egg and quite like it, which was cheering. She's been in fine fettle lately, I'm very thankful we're going through a phase of no illnesses at the moment (and keeping FX that it'll last through the Easter holidays, too...)

Fosbury Fetus has been very active, kicking away in there, so I assume he's okay too. 20 week scan in two weeks' time, so we'll have a better idea of that then.
Meantime, I'm looking forward to a couple of weeks or so with DH at home (and not too much work to do) so we can do family things together and I can get some time on my own to do a bit of shopping and pottering (haircut booked, hooray!)

Here's hoping everyone has a lovely Semana Santa (Holy Week). Shame it's clouded over, but never mind. The weather was lovely while it lasted.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 31/03/2012 21:37

IC make the most of every opportunity to go out as a couple now and especially to have some time to yourself - somehow it is much harder to come by when you leave your partner outnumbered by the small ones (or the teenage babysitter cowering at the thought!) Grin

PA this seems to be a bit frequent for you at the moment doesn't it? Do you have some intolerances (of the food variety, not in laws Smile) like DD?

SB hooray for the wee on the potty! Think using up all his stickers was very mean Smile - they make a good distraction on the potty. In our house, stickers go on clothes or paper - those is the rules!

Mous glad to hear DD1 is on the mend. Think your DD1 is still a lot taller than DS2, despite him being heavier. He now has new shoes in sized 7! He suddenly looks like a big two/three year old, I decided today when I saw someone else holding him. He's also a thug who was very much holding his own at DS1's soft play party with all the 4 year olds!! Let's hope nursery can sort him out Smile.

Hello BBB. Smile Can I steal some of your hair for DH? He's a bit follicly challenged, at least on his head - it all seems to have slipped onto his chest/back Blush!!

Have had a mad day with DS1's birthday and party. DH took both boys to another party this morning so I could make the party food. We rushed to the venue, held a soft play party for 18 kids (16 of whom were boys - loud and boisterous, even for me as a teacher!) and then came home for a bit of a catch up, as I felt like I hadn't really seen him by then (apart from opening presents at 6:30a.m!)

MIL took us all out for tea yesterday pm and we discovered, after much searching, that Zizzi will do a gluten and dairy free pasta meal for my lot. Sadly, DS1 wanted his pasta and sauce separate and refused to eat it mixed. Cue MIL cooing over him, telling us not to make him sad etc. [grr] We hoped they were joining us nearby for a weekend of our Summer holiday and they've booked for 5 days. Hmm If we can't get through to her about how to deal with DS1 and food (or just to keep her mouth shut-preferably), we are going to have a very hungry little boy by then. I left DH to deal with it yesterday as I'd had a rubbish morning with the boys (after a brilliant Thursday), and he'd then had to go back to work due to a problem there, leaving me with boys and inlaws for an hour. By teatime and MIL's little interjections, I'd had enough!! Tomorrow, we have two more parties, including pond dipping. Not sure if this is for small creatures or DS2 when he falls in. I feel the reins might be required!! Nursery settling from Monday, while DH and FIL build the climbing frame, and another 4 parties before next Sunday. If only my own social life was that exciting!! Off to build strength with alcohol before bed. Smile

PenguinArmy · 31/03/2012 21:51

busy busy beth that kind of food manipulation does my head in as well. My way of dealing with it is to tell not to in a rude and blunt way, but it's seemed to have worked. I'm looking forward to seeing the climbing frame.

let us know where you live on fb and we can see if we can arrange something with abs

my whole family were sick so this one was definitely a bug although some of my food issues I think were to blame later on. Take out chinese was a bad idea.

DH as given my a day off, found the week away quite exhausting even though there was some help. Travelling with two is just completely different isn't it. Although I managed to cause a family row (although that set were a bit funny with us anyway), decided to end a friendship (in the cowards way of just not bothering to see her again) as her newly found religion streak meant she was nasty when my brother turned up with his boyfriend and also had the lurgy and so two clingy children. Plus despite some promising starts no-one was able to get DS to take more than 0.5oz tops so think my one/two days to myself in our upcoming holiday are not going to happen.

IC glad bump is keeping you on your toes DD was also very active in her scans

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 31/03/2012 22:20

Let's hope you are all well for a long spell soon PA. Will facebook you re where we live. I have to admit that I have never taken both DS away overnight on my own (and I usually shy away from daytrips if it can possibly be helped, although I'll make an exception for you and Abs!!) This is mainly due to the complete exhaustion it creates and the need to be on my guard all the time due to DS2 climbing/escaping out of locked doors/knocking handles off antique teapots (MILs)/kicking the furniture in anger etc.. (Sure you'll be meeting us somewhere outdoors now!!) I seriously hope he isn't too well behaved if we meet up, as you will think I'm a complete idiot otherwise!

Hope you've had a relaxing day off. Sounds like an interesting week away tha would definitely require a day off to recover!!

PenguinArmy · 31/03/2012 22:40

I am very lucky with DD as she lacks the motivation and is off guard is new situations. Must be very stressful for you.

apparently I'm just not feeding him enough Grin Is it wrong to hope the pg person who said that to me has a less ideal sleeper next time?

LittlebearH · 01/04/2012 00:59

Found you all! I must say I am in awe of you lot. Keeping up to date etc. As you know I manage the odd random post in FB but that is it. I hope things are going well PA and with the pregnancy IC. And the others that have 2 or more DCs I take my hat off.

I am alright. Meds keeping me in check to a degree. I am still seeing a councillor but I dont feel she understands completely how my head works. She does say that it must be exhausting being me, working, with a young child and running the house that must be clean and tidy at all times (I am a bit OCD) and miles apart from DP at times. But - so many of you are in the same boat pregnant or with another young DC that I almost feel like a fraud. Having said all that, I AM LOVING DD so much. This age is so fantastic, being able to communicate is amazing. Her sleep and eating is generally fine. I must admit I am often frustrated at the fact she wants to do everything herself. Getting into car, refuses to be lifted, takes her own clothes off and on. Has a strong opinion on what she wears. Nightmare when you are in a hurry, someone wanting your car space or need a wee and she will insist on counting the flowers outside.

DD can count to ten, repeat the alphabet and sing twinkle twinkle perfectly.

She has come out with some funny things too - daddy I AM TALKING NOW listen.

Naughty daddy no close wardrobe door.

Mummy watch this - I hear this 20 times a day.

I am sorry I am such a me poster - I mean it when I say you lot are amazing

StoneBaby · 01/04/2012 08:04

LBH good to hear from you. Don't worry abiut me post they're here to let the pressure go.

PA big hugs.

DS and I are in my bed watching tv while DH is in the bathroom. He enjoys sitting against the pillow and been under the duvet.

berhy what a full on day. Good luck with the rest off the parties.

Re potty training does anybodyy knows of a brand of nappy which aren't efficient? Odd question I know but I think DS doesn't realise that he's doing a wee because the nappies are very absorbant and therefore he doesn't feel wet.

I hope you all have a good Sunday

InmaculadaConcepcion · 01/04/2012 10:56

Lovely to hear from you LBH! Don't worry about "me" posts - it's great to hear your news and how you're getting on. Sorry your counsellor isn't quite getting your headspace, but good news the meds are helping you stay on an even keel.
Very impressed with the counting to ten! DD's getting into numbers (English and Spanish!) and she can count items correctly if there are no more than three.

bethy blimey, what a few days you've had! Not surprised the food situation is making you apprehensive, your MIL was definitely saying exactly the wrong things, meh. Hopefully all will be well.

PA sorry your visit was marred with illness and strife, I hope you'll have a chance to chill out a bit now.

SB what about putting him back in washables for a while? If he's going without more often in the warmer weather and for potty training, maybe the nappy rash won't come back again?

DD called out for me four times between 01.00 and 03.40 last night - just like the bad old days. I wasn't sure what was bothering her, if anything. Temperature was fine and she assured me she wasn't in any pain (although I have a suggestion her tummy may have been a bit uncomfortable as she ate quite a humongous supper last night). I hope she's more settled tonight, I'm out of practice on broken nights at the moment (and trying to make the most of relatively undisturbed sleep before Fosbury makes his entrance...)

Happy Sunday!

StoneBaby · 01/04/2012 14:28

Is it my ipod playing up or is mumsnet name has been changed to momsnet?

PenguinArmy · 01/04/2012 14:35

it's an april fool, look at threads of the day

PenguinArmy · 01/04/2012 14:37

LBH I was just thinking about you last nite, glad to see you again. Your DD sounds amazing and you do loads. I don't do housework or work

DH has the bug now.

StoneBaby · 01/04/2012 19:04

DS now weighs 12.5kg (1st13lb or 27kb8oz) and measures 88cm. I don't want to look on where he is centules wise but I'm glad he grew up.

PenguinArmy · 01/04/2012 21:23

Felt like a proper mum today. DD was playing outside for 3 hours which included having the easel and paints outs, scooter, bike, camera and then the neighbours joined us which resulted in ice-lolly's and the chalk part of the easel.

PenguinArmy · 01/04/2012 21:24

and DH is dying apparently Hmm so I ended up doing everything which was strangely nice.

StoneBaby · 02/04/2012 08:49

Off for a few days so I may not get any free wifi. Have a good week

Bearcrumble · 02/04/2012 09:15

Have a good time, SB.

Sorry about the bug, PA - yesterday sounds like a lovely day. Hope DH is better soon. Don't blame you about dropping that friend.

SB If not cloth nappies I think there are some potty training disposables that let them feel wet. I can't find them with google though so I might be making it up.

I made chocolate brownies with salty caramel and almonds - recipe here: tinykitchentales.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/who-doesnt-love-good-brownie-purists.html - they were lovely.

So I have my pre-assessment tomorrow and caesarian on Thursday. I think we're ready - bag has been packed for ages and the car seat arrived last week. I washed the moses basket sheets but I think the cat might have been in it since - there are quite a few suspicious hairs.

BigBadBear · 02/04/2012 09:51

Ooh, good luck bear!

bc fx it'll go well. I bet you can't wait to meet your little girl. x

I put the cloth nappies away a few weeks ago and I can't face having to unpack them. I'll look while we're away on what's available in the supermarkets.
