PA Shock Grin

StoneBaby · 23/03/2012 20:06

mous I hope your DD1 is feeling better.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 23/03/2012 22:00

Well, I've just caught up for the last few days and you lot have brought a smile to my face!! PA what the hell did she(?) find to do in there for that long?!! I've had a couple of weeks off my exercises and it's time I started again.

BBB So sorry to hear that DH has not stepped up to the mark when you needed him to. I'd like to share my little pot of Haagen Dazs ice-cream that I've just purchased with you. (Have no cake in the house-hazard of being the only one that could eat it!) I think I need to aim to be as accepting of my DH as SC sounds, but I'm not very tolerant. I have very high expectations of myself and therefore of DH too. He finds that hard and has fond memories of his bachelor days.

Mous hope DD1 is better soon. DS2 mostly doesn't look too chubby any more, especially since his diet is now restricted to no dairy, but he is so heavy that I am still struggling with his tantrums. This morning, he stood on the change station and thumped me on the head, all because I needed to change his nappy. It was before 7a.m and gave me rather a shock. My parenting manuals have arrived, so I'm sure I'll have cracked the problems by MondayHmm!! He's not remotely impressed with having given up his dummy at nap time but is doing pretty well with the potty training.

SB glad to hear that DS has decided he likes nursery again. I'm looking forward to hearing from Scones and hoping that her DD has settled in at her nursery and new home. DS2 starts his settling sessions at nursery a week on Monday.

Hi IC how are you doing this week?

I'm looking for somewhere to stay with my friend for a night away (and she has a nearly 2 year old refluxer too, like me). Anyone got any ideas of somewhere not more than about 2.5 hours away form Warwickshire? I think we're thinking rural retreat and probably b and b. I'm going to go and look now. I've been feeling quite disgruntled this week and don't really have any reason to be. I think I had hoped DH would have thought through the plan for mother's day a bit more, thus enabling me to relax more (and finished the cleaning he'd offered to do). It's his birthday this weekend and I've planned lots, so think that's the problem. As usual, my grumps are not even worth typing, but they won't quite go away. Anyway, hopefully the sunshine will sort everything out. Off to Conkers for the day - looks good. Have a lovely sunny weekend all.

PenguinArmy · 23/03/2012 22:40

afraid I have no ideas survival regarding trip location.

It wasn't my normal physio so she did some general investigating as well as doing a full set with feedback after each one. Plus she some kind of tension so spent a while massaging it.

I so hope scones is getting on OK and it's just the move keeping her away.

DD got quite fighty all of a sudden. Nappy changes, walking etc. DH got a taster as my appointment over ran, but means he has stepped up even more. I have to fight to do anything approaching my fair share atm. Sorry I know that isn't comforting if your DH is a bit lax in that department but it is possible. I do freely tell him if things have been difficult or I'm feeling a bit run down. I've had a cough for a week so that physical reminder has kept him concerned even though I have been alright.

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 24/03/2012 07:03

Sotu What about the wye valley?

DD1 had 39.5 last night and a bit of puking. Can't wait till DD2 gets it Hmm. It sounds like the flu, coughing, high temp, cramps and tummy upset. (exactly what her desk mate had last week!)
I have been trying to keep DD2 away as much as I can but it is not easy possible, that is when you need GPs to take over.

Have a nice week end.

SocietyClowns · 24/03/2012 07:18

mous your poor dd1 Sad Hope she feels a litte better soon.

dd2 was up at 3 and then got up before 6 Sad. I wish those second molars could hurry up and come through. They have been bothering her for months.

She just asked for coffee for breakfast! Hmm The other day she got an empty coffee pack from the recycling and sat on the floor sniffing it for ages. I have never met a two year old who appreciates good coffee! Grin And no, she's not having any for breakfast.

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 24/03/2012 07:27

sOc DD2 likes coffee! Wink

DD2 also slept till 7 Shock the benefit on me was lost as I was up several time with DD1... I wonder if the more kids you have the less you sleep or if that is why DB, DSIL and my cousin completely ignore their children.

PenguinArmy · 24/03/2012 10:36

mous hope she picks up soon and DD2 escapes

I am packing soooo much for this week away. No room for double buggy I think.

StoneBaby · 24/03/2012 13:45

Lovely weather over here. After a leisurely lunch we're watching tv on the sofa. DS is liking the fact that his daddy is here this weekend Grin

I'm doing banoffee cupcakes at the moment {the dulce de leche is been made rght now - can't find it alread made). I' ll do the cherry cupcakes after Easter as most of my colleagues have given up chocolate (they normally eat the left overs cakes Grin)

Have a good weekend Smile

StoneBaby · 24/03/2012 14:56

oops it's should read given up chocolate for lent.

BigBadBear · 24/03/2012 17:33

Grin and Confused PA. Why are you seeing a physio?

I'm feeling much better but my brain is still not as sharp as usual, so apologies for lack of personal replies.

Waves... Had a tricky journey today with motorway closures but got up to the Lakes in the end. Beautiful weather and I am so pleased for our friend having a sunny wedding on Monday Smile

PenguinArmy · 24/03/2012 21:11

Physio is for my pelvic floor as after all it is just a muscle

AbsB · 25/03/2012 04:25

Hello everyone! Yes it's 4 am, oh joy! The dog was barking so I've had to let him out. Stomach problems. DD seems to be awake too but I'm ignoring her as I think she is just crying out in her sleep.

SOTU My DP also celebrates his birthday this weekend! I made a cake with DD yesterday and almost lost my patience. She has her hands in EVERYTHING and always helps herself to a large spoon shouting "I want to try it!" and pulls up her small chair, dips her spoon in and shoves whatever it is straight into her mouth. Yesterday, it just got so messy, butter, raw egg, flour, cocoa, all over the place. I gave her the spoon with the cake mix to lick afterwards and just as I had my back turned to put the cake in the oven, she dipped the entire thing in again. I know I mustn't get cross but navigating the kitchen these days is just so hazardous!!! Hmm

Mous I'm sorry to hear about your DD, hope she feels better soon.

We've been having such lovely weather here in Oxfordshire too. It's like summer. Not looking forward to the hosepipe ban, not sure if I'm allowed to wash my fox poo covered Jack Russell when he's rolled? They didn't mention that one on the news. Oh well, he will have to live outside until it rains Grin.

Right, must go and bring the dog in as I'm on duty when DD wakes up in two hours. We're decorating the cake first thing... another kitchen nightmare to look forward to! (after clearing DP's curry antics last night!)...

Hoping everyone else is sleeping soundly... [waves and sends sleep vibes for the clock change]

PenguinArmy · 25/03/2012 10:03

random fact of the day:

DD is 10.5kgs with pjs on and a toothbrush

StoneBaby · 25/03/2012 13:36

I think DS is having a growth spurt asmost of his trousers don't cover his ankles anymore, the only problem is that the 2-3 years trousers are way to big on the waist.

BG how was the wedding?

It's a free listing on ebay this weekend if you need to declutter.

SocietyClowns · 25/03/2012 15:34

SB wedding is tomorrowSmile. We did a lovely walk this morning and dd2 is now having a well deserved nap. She walked miles and loved to watch a deer, see a waterfall and discover what looked like baby eels under a rock right by a lake. She also collected a bag full of 'my favourite!' stones which dh and I discretely dropped...Grin

SocietyClowns · 25/03/2012 16:49

Er, come to think of it they were probably leeches...Blush (looong time since Alevel biology)

StoneBaby · 25/03/2012 19:29

Yepee I managed to sell our back baby carrier through a local fb group. I bought it nearly 2 years ago second hand and we never used it so it's a relief. I also made a profit on it. Grin

Leeches Shock

SocietyClowns · 25/03/2012 20:20

SB We left ours at home by accident which is why dd2 walked todayGrin . She loved it but the pace is a little slow that way...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 25/03/2012 20:30

Hope the wedding went well, SC!

Abs that sounds horribly early, eek! Here's hoping your DH's birthday weekend has been a great success...

...and yours too, Survival, even if he doesn't 100% deserve it..!!
Cotswolds? DH and I are thinking of having a night in a little rural B&B around there soon.
I'm fine, thanks! Bump now pretty obvious, so I'm digging out my old maternity stuff from the back of the wardrobe.

I had to arf at your description of the physio rummaging around in your fanjo, PA! Good luck with the packing.

SB your cakes sound so delicious! I was inspired to bake some cookies today - just ordinary vanilla ones, but ran out of butter so substituted the rest of the fat with coconut cream and they've come out tasting delicious, think I might do that again!

BBB hope you're continuing to mend okay.

I went to a nearly new sale yesterday and acquired a Wheely Bug (instantly adored by DD), some toddler Croc copies for £1.50, a new pressure-fix stairgate (not for the top of the stairs, it'll be handy for other places, like the bottom of the stairs, doorways etc.), a maternity dress and Ina May's Guide To Childbirth to start getting myself back into the birthing groove (seeing as I'm probably a prime candidate for a VBAC and would quite like to try for a vaginal delivery this time, if possible). All in all, a pretty decent haul for not much money!

StoneBaby · 25/03/2012 21:12

IC great news on bump been well. Have you received the full results yet? When baking I normally run out of sugar and use golden syrup or black treacle instead.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 25/03/2012 21:35

I should get the full results in the middle of the week SB - FX all is well, although I'm feeling pretty serene about it now.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 25/03/2012 22:59

Sounds .ike you've all had lovely, sunny, creative weekends (sorry Mous, excluding you -sending get well vibes to DD1 and keep away vibes to DD2!).

When I run out of ingredients I rob one of the lovely neighbours as I don't know enough about baking to exchange ingredients. Blush

Abs happy birthday to DP - hope he's had a lovely weekend too. I've just put our pics on Facebook. DS2 looks rather podgy, and yet he's eating virtually nothing at the moment. Think he'd weigh about 15Kg if I added a toothbrush PA!!! Think you adn I should meet up with PA as we're all within about an hour of each other (although DS1 is rather nervous around dogs, even littlies!)

IC glad the bump is progressing nicely. Have you considered hypnobirthing? I didn't actually end up doing it properly, but there were bits tha certainly helped and it made me feel very much in control beforehand when I refused the c section they waned me to have. Good for relaxation if nothing else. I can't send the book and CD on to you as I borrowed it form my friend who has had '2 painless labours'!! Fingers crossed for your results. I made the cake by myself last night - you are very brave to engage DD in birthday cake making. Mine do flapjack and stuff, but the official cakes are my territory. I put a Peppa pig topper on it, as I bought one for DS2's in case my efforts went wrong. Gluten and dairy free cake is surprisingly tasty.

Anyway, my superwife efforts (roast dinner, cake baking, etc..) have worn me out so I'm off to bed. I did finally tell DH on Friday night why I had the hump and we finally sorted it at 1a.m (before the day started at 5:30a.m!!) so all is good again here.
