Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
girlsyearapart · 07/02/2012 03:48

I'm always hungry night feeding too hawthers..

aethelfleda · 07/02/2012 03:50

i feel incessantly thirsty at night (still on 2 pints/water every night) but don't want food at all. Come morning I am RAVENOUS....

Hawthers if the custard creams are calling you, clearly your body needs them. Go for it...

LittleMissFlustered · 07/02/2012 04:00

Edward wakes himself. Frequently >_<

He's only four weeks old though. I never woke the other two unless I was in pain though, I was usually too busy trying to sleep:)

LittleMissFlustered · 07/02/2012 04:02

aethel I'm going through a litre and a half of whatever I fill my bottle with. Usually water or weak squash. Thirsty work this being awake:)

mopsytop · 07/02/2012 04:37

I am nit even bf and going through a cpl of pints of water a night. So the extra feed today meant minimopsy woke up at 4:30 instead of 3 for a feed. Will still have to feed her again at 7:30 though to fit in the extra feed tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next week or so. It may be that she is just not ready to drop her night feed yet. Or it may be that over the course of a week or two she takes enough in during the day to no longer need it. Although we fitted in an extra feed yesterday, she took less at each feed so didn't end up having that much more than usual.

hawthers, I wd say dig in to those custard creams, your body clearly needs them. Mmmm custard creams!

plutocrap · 07/02/2012 04:50

Good morning!

OiMissus · 07/02/2012 05:14

hawthers I am told that once they've regained birth weight you don't have to wake them.
Alistair did his usual two feeds. Wish we could drop one. I try to stimulate him a bit so ge takes more at the first, (nappy change) but it doesn't make any difference. Sad

luckysevens · 07/02/2012 05:22

Does 5am class as a night feed? Eva had dropped hers but woke herself coughing.

hawthers take all the sleep you can get!

AnAirOfGreatExpectations · 07/02/2012 06:55

Morning

We were up at 4am for a feed, then i put her in the swing, had a shower, got dressed, put washing in machine, had breakfast and then Air got up.

DH now in kitchen ironing his work shirt so i can't make a coffee yet. Air watching Thomas the tank before i can get into kitchen to make him some toast - the running theme here is i need my kitchen, huff men!

Hope feed, nappy changed an asleep in my arms making cute smiles so she having a good dream Grin

MsB - sorry about the cat Sad
Kirsty ((hugs))
LMF - Yay glad you are home and Edward is better Smile

Our plan today:
take breastpump back to childrens centre
Take part in the attachment thing
Go to school and hand in form saying i want my son to go there
Tidy kitchen
Sort clothes out

(HV is coming Thursday so i want the place spotless, so i have asked cleaners to come tomoro. Then i'm not going to give her anything to have a "concern" about execpt me bf Hope! I still need to write the complaint letter - hopefully will get time on Thursday afternoon to do it.)

AnAirOfGreatExpectations · 07/02/2012 07:02

Waves to BJR

Also forgot - we dont have a rountine as such - a set time for snack, lunch and dinner and bedtime, inbetween i go with what the kids want (they can get up when they want as i dont wake them up unless i need to go out early but thats not often). Its more what ativities we have on in the week than a rountine.

mopsytop · 07/02/2012 07:58

Morning all! The reason I want a rough routine is that minimopsy is starting nursery at beginning of April and it will be easier if she has a routine I think. Then they can also follow it at the nursery and it will hopefully be more settling for her. But it will also mean we can get out the door on time/hopefully get enough sleep so I can work ok. That's the plan anyhow!

Brrr is freezing here! What are everyone's plans for the day? I am going to my friend's little girl's first birthday party at lunchtime!

Good idea re cleaner air so the old bag can't think of yet another non existent problem although the fact that you had to go to such lengths is ridiculous. Never mind all the other crap she's been coming out with but if a hv came into my house and passed comment on the lack of spotlessness there would be a swift dispatch of a letter of complaint. Hope it goes ok tomorrow.

mopsytop · 07/02/2012 08:00

I meant the commenting on cleanliness alone wd be enough to complain about her not that the other stuff she said isn't also outrageous!

msbuggywinkle · 07/02/2012 08:09

Bleeeeeeeeugh. DD2 has been awake since 4am. Very unusual. More when I am awake.

aethelfleda · 07/02/2012 08:25

Morning! Feeling for you air with the kitchen-want; except for us it's the bathroom. Me plus the two DDs plus DH = too many people who all need the loo at the same time! If/when we move house I am TOTALLY insisting on one with two loos: I remember from being a student that four people is theax that can share a loo comfortably without bloodshed (well sort of).

sevens, anything before 6am counts as night for me though some ealy birds may disagree!!

msb hope moggy turns up today.

Hoping to take Albert into work today to see the girls subject to timings (we hve to take DD1 for an eye appt this afternoon too). Going to be a busy day!

BeeMyBaby · 07/02/2012 08:51

great that you are home LMF and the pictures are lovely, especially the one with your DD in the tall hat - she looks gorgeous :)

I'm not doing well with my pelvic floor either Kate77 & Kri5ty, I definitely have a prolapse but after being basically dismissed by the dr at my six week check don't want to visit the doctors again unless I've tried everything... but I hate doing my pelvic floor exercises... I'm pondering buying a tens pelvic floor machine thingermy but I'm not sure if they would help a prolapse... even though I had a very smooth birth I am a complete mess down below and have ordered some creams etc online for piles (sorry TMI) as too embarrassed to buy these things in a shop but I think I must be destroying my pelvic floor everytime I have a bowel movement.

Also DH & I still haven't got round to buying anything for DD1s birthday (which was 4 days ago) - she got presents from other people and she is only two so doesn't notice but I still feel a bit bad...

Kri5ty · 07/02/2012 09:10

bee i have a kegal8 ultra vitality... they are used to treat prolapses :)
the only thing is i dont have time to use it! here you get it for the cheaper price :)

air good luck with the complaint letter!!

Today i'm off to baby cinema at the trafford centre, and possibly a walk, however if i go for a walk it means saul will fall asleep... i always feel bad if it isn't his sleep time and he falls asleep because he is in the pram/car lol

mopsy i wanted a routine, so i would have a better idea of why he was crying! Ie if he has fed an hour ago, i know it isn't through hunger, plus with bottle feeding its a lot easier to plan / prepare the feeds to make sure they are correct temp and within 2 hours!

aethelfleda · 07/02/2012 09:14

Bee : this block toy is one of the most popular toys in our house: it's pretty, versatile and every visiting toddler loves it! Not the cheapest but
It's extremely well made and nice enough to keep long term. And no irritating electronic noises!! Maybe that would be a good pressie if you don't have tons of similar already??

BeeMyBaby · 07/02/2012 09:14

I'm too cheeeeap I will tell DH that there is going to be no love for him as its too expensive...

BeeMyBaby · 07/02/2012 09:17

my previous post was in reference to the pelvic floor exerciser not the block toy - lol. I like the block toy, will have a think but may end up purchasing it for my niece for her 2nd bday!

BeeMyBaby · 07/02/2012 09:36

thinking I might mew at DH for the super expensive kegel8 one... I can actually see myself not wanting anymore children (when I really want 5 or 6) unless the prolapse goes away.

NorthernChinchilla · 07/02/2012 09:46

Good morning all! Today we go for DS's development check at the Doctor's- please God he objects less than he did when in hospital, I didn't think Paediatricians were meant to go wibbly and scuttle off...

Mornings have been a bit of a pain, as LO appears to be extra snuffly (given the three poo-splosions yesterday I know it's not that) and so after his 4.30 feed is waking every hour and a half to every hour thrashing and grunting around. Think we may end up in bed again today...

Seven and Oi- our LO likes watching the TV fishtank too, and we'll pop him in front of it of an evening. Felt slightly odd/guilty/bad parenty when he was 'watching' the lesbian sex scene in Misfits, but hey!

They do baby signing at the nursery DS will go to Kate, and was thinking I'll need to learn it too!

So sorry the kitty's not returned MsB, that's rotten.

We do have a bit of a routine, which is fairly similar to yours and air's - get up at 8, feed and then (fingers crossed) LO goes down for a nap. Then it's sort of free-for-all during the day, as we have random things on at random times. If we're out, he'll feed less often; at home, hourly-ish. He may get a couple of short naps, or occasionally longer if we're driving, or in bed. He's gone from never being awake to never bloody sleeping.
He'll have some sessions on his mat/in front of the washing machine/in front of the TV. He'll spend late evening feeding/grizzling (it's downgraded to grizzling now, wooo-hooo!) then bed about 10. Feeds between 1 and 2, 4 and 5 and then a little one before we get up.

I'm so glad that you've got to the bottom of it Kri5ty, and that Saul is happier; I just hope that things improve for you both physically and in respect of the birth. Getting out of the house does get easier, and the fears (what if he cries, have I got everything, will he be too cold, am I doing it right) will start to go- you'll get there! And I still don't feel like someone's Mum myself- my head has not accepted that bit, although I love my little pickle DS and pander to his every need!

Am loving the wampire (it's pronounced this way in our family, long story) baby Plu, that's so cute!

I'm not waking LO for a feed hawthers, he lets me know sure enough.

I think our LO does have some nice dreams air, but at the moment with his snuffles it seems more like nightmares... Hope you don't get any more stupid comments about washing in the kitchen too.

When we bought this place aethel, one of the reasons we got it is because it had an upstairs loo (these terraces have the bathrooms on the ground floor). I am so glad we did, two loos is the way forward (and jesus I sound like my mother).

And we are keeping the fire stoked and blazing at the moment!

plutocrap · 07/02/2012 09:46

Cool new name, Air ofGreatExpectations!

re: bathrooms: when we first rented a place with a downstairs loo, we had ARRIVED. It is brilliant (and came just in time for potty training (= no chanceof slipping on stairs and pouring ... something... everywhere).

8-week check today!

aethelfleda · 07/02/2012 09:52

Hey bee you could always go second hand: I was on Gumtree the other day and someone was advertising an
Epi-no for " £40 as it's only been used twice"...

All together now: Eeeeeewwwwww!!!

plutocrap · 07/02/2012 10:08

Haha, aethelfleda, I considered thesecond hand joke, but refrained, which means I've got more willpower than yo-ou!

mopsytop · 07/02/2012 10:10

Ugggghhhh aethel, can't believe that! Gross! I wonder did it sell? Ugh I feel a bit sick at the thought!
