The thing is we do know for sure but were advised to wait for it to happen naturally. Not sue how long I can hold out..

Thanks all for your kind words. Much appreciated.

Hercule, just knew I couldn't wait it out at home, so opted for surgical method. Thinking of you. Xxx

MrsHerculePoirot · 09/02/2012 22:50

Hope it goes uneventfully tomorrow and you're not snowed off. I've just kept busy really with Imogen and work so far. Staying at my parents tonight Imogen too excited and currently up and playing!

WhispersOfWickedness · 10/02/2012 21:15

Hercule :( Sorry, I misunderstood. Hope you are both taking care of yourselves xxx

Whispers don't apologise - I think I didn't post on this thread, but another what was going on. Basically I had one scan, went back a week later still no heartbeat, but tiny growth of sac (not unusual) so have to go back in two weeks (which will now be next Thurs). However, in between the consultant who delivered Imogen and is a friend of my dad's saw me and scanned me and explained everything to me and all my choices so we know it is definitely a missed miscarriage. Her advice to me, was to try and wait it out naturally which is what we're doing, and to go to the scan on Thursday just to see what was happening. My current plan is to go on Thursday and then probably book to have the ERPC later the week after if nothing happening - I will have waited nearly 4 weeks by then and just feel like every day I wait longer, the longer I am having to wait to try again if that makes sense.

Ethel - hope you are OK.

Lee - have a lovely holiday!

Btw - my BIL and SIL are moving to Newcastle, so I am thinking that if meeting up is planned then we will have a more northern base (as you are all higher up than me!) and I can plan it into a journey up or down from there!

Hi all

Just a quick update. Got out of hosp tonight after bring in since 1030am yest!! Was waiting pretty much all day fir s slot in theatre, nil by mouth and later on, on a drip. They decided at 830pm last night they would have to bump me over to today. Anyway, at 1 today went up to theatre and all was done and I'd come round at about 145pm. Was discharged at 6pm with a sick note for up to a week off if I need it. Feeling ok about it all, just a bit of a sore tummy and still a bit weak! Had a bit of a moment in the anaesthetic room, just before I went into theatre, but think it was a combination of emotions about the mmc and also being nervous about the general anaesthetic as have not had one before. So anyway, all sorted now, so fingers crossed things can get back to normal soon. hercule it was fine apart from all the hanging about, which hopefully you wouldn't have. Feel quite pleased now to have it sorted with minimum mess and fuss really. I would recommend, well you know what I mean!?! Smile

Hope you're all ok? Hercule, Newcastle is a brill place, me and DH were at uni there!!

WhispersOfWickedness · 12/02/2012 22:30

Glad it all went smoothly Ethel, must be a relief to have it sorted.

Hercule, that makes more sense, thanks for explaining Smile hopefully it will all be sorted soon.

Have been thinking of you both xx

Blatherskite · 15/02/2012 15:35

Glad it all went well Ethel.

Hope you're OK Hercule.

I have tonsillitis again!! 7th time in 12 months now. Had a swab done on Monday and am supposed to wait until the results are back on Friday before getting antibiotics but have just rung and....

Scratch that, the doc just rang and my results are back already. The prescription for the antibiotics is waiting for me Grin Annoyed that it means I need another course of Penicillin but so relieved that relief is on it's way

WhispersOfWickedness · 15/02/2012 16:35

That is crazy Blathers! Can't they whip 'em out or something? Grin Seriously though, it must be horrid Sad

Noah currently has conjunctivitis which is fun Hmm have been to the gp today and he has antibiotic eye drops so fingers crossed they start to work soon. He has also had constipation, bless him! Had a bad night with him last night, he woke up about 9pm and was inconsolable Sad so ended up sleeping in our bed with DH until about 3am when he gave DH the runaround for about an hour and then went to sleep in his own bed. I didn't have it easy either, up with rosa every hour or so until 3 when i was awake listening to Noah and she was fast asleep until he went back to sleep again and then she was awake Hmm

Anyway, hope everyone else is getting a bit more sleep than us, I wouldn't want to be dh's work colleagues today, he gets in a foul mood when he's tired Grin

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 15/02/2012 21:23

Blathers what a nightmare. Like whispers said, can't they take them out??!! That is a ridiculous amount of times to have tonsillitis and surely it can't e good to keep having to go on tablets?!!!

Hope Noah is feeling better soon Whispers. It's no fun when they are illl is it.

Anna has gone into a big bed! After much debating, when DH was at home with me on Monday, he just decided to whip the sides of the cot bed off, so that was that. Had a few shenanigans the first night, but fingers crossed, she seems to be getting in the swing of things.... Actually, better go check now that she's actually in bed!!!Grin

Blatherskite · 15/02/2012 22:04

I have no idea any more. My old doctor (who left at Christmas) seemed to think that it was a possibility and that I could be referred after 5 swab confirmed cases - which I now have.

I would have had 5 confirmed cases last time except my old doctor was on leave at the time and the locum said there was absolutely no chance of having them removed as they didn't do the op for adults any more so she refused to take a swab.

I now have a new doctor who I have yet to meet as he's on annual leave at the moment so I have no idea what his take on the operation might be.

The NHS website says 5 cases in a year but I think that might be for children.

I have been warned that it is a big deal for adults and fraught with complications which really worries me but if this is the start of another back-to-back set of infections then I'm not sure I can cope with much more. The antibiotics themselves were making me ill by last November as after 8 lots of antibiotics in 6 months, my gut flora was so dessimated than I was having all sorts of tummy problems too. I guess I should be thankful that it's just tonsillitis and not anything more serious

MrsHerculePoirot · 16/02/2012 14:57

Oh Blathers that is miserable hope you feel better soon and that they whip them out.

Whispers hope Noah recovers soon, it's difficult I think at this age to know how best to help them and they are cheeky monkeys in between!

Ethel - woohoo on Anna going in big bed. I reckon she'll love it!

I've ended up in hosp - pretty horrific experience but hopefully physically all over now and home later today.

Blatherskite · 16/02/2012 15:20

Oh No Hercule! Sad Hope you feel better soon too

WhispersOfWickedness · 16/02/2012 21:03

So sorry Hercule, hope you're getting plenty of rest and feel a bit better soon :(

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 16/02/2012 21:17

So glad you are back home now hercule was thinking about you yesterday and this morning. Xxx

MrsHerculePoirot · 16/02/2012 21:32

Thanks everyone, just had lovely shower and off to bed!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 17/02/2012 15:21

How's everyone feeling today?

MrsHerculePoirot · 17/02/2012 16:39

Hello! Am enjoying being at home and resting. DH is being brilliant. How you doing Ethel?

Blathers hope your ab's are doing their job and you're starting to feel better now.

Whispers hope the nights start to ease for you soon and that you're able to catch up on some zzzz's yourself.

Blatherskite · 17/02/2012 18:06

The abs are definitely helping. I feel much better. So much so that I talked DH into taking the children out to a museum this morning and while we had a lovely time while we were there, it's all caught up with me now and I am soooo tired.

Still, I'm very glad that half term wasn't a complete wash out. Even with tonsillitis, I've managed bird feeder filling at the local garden centre, a fingerprint charm jewellery making party (OK so that one was more for the adults but the children had fun playing with their friends between having prints done) and the Natural History museum today. What I need now is a week to get over it all :)

Glad you're getting some rest Hercule. How are you feeling Ethel?

Blatherskite · 17/02/2012 18:08

Oh and hope you manage to get some sleep soon Whispers. It does get better. Remember me whining constantly about Catherine never sleeping? Well this morning, she got up at 8.40 Shock I had to go in and check she was still breathing at one point!

Hope it doesn't take Rosa 14 months though.

Claire236 · 19/02/2012 15:12

Wow I've missed loads.

Ethelred & Hercule I hope you're both feeling ok.

I'm in the process of finding another job as I'm currently based in Germany & my time's up in Oct. Had an interview in UK last Monday but didn't get job. Got another interview via video conf thing this week. Applied for one other job as well but that's outside my specialism so not sure I'll get interview for that one. Been off work this week for half term & generally feeling stressed & knackered. The pressure of this job being the next home for my family isn't something I'd considered before but it's scaring me at the moment.

Off to retrieve kashmiri butter chicken from my slow cooker which smells totally amazing. Hopefully will taste as good as it smells.

WhispersOfWickedness · 19/02/2012 20:06

Hope everyone's ok and that Hercule and Ethel are recovering.

Thanks Blathers, Noah was a rubbish sleeper too and got so much better after a year old. I think it's just come as a bit of a shock as Rosa was brilliant, and we have just had the week from hell in terms of sleep, she is sleeping worse than when she was a newborn!! Confused

Claire - that must be really stressful, are you just looking in the UK or in Germany too? Kashmiri butter chicken sounds nice, I was selected for the Youngs fish product test, so will be eating a lot of fish over the next few weeks! :o
