I know it is really annoying. We all just know it is all over, and they have written that is what they think in the notes, but due to procedure, and to be fair I guess they do really have to be 100% certain, they can't just say it now. Of course, despite the fact I really do just know, there is that teeny part of me that thinks they haven't written it off for a reason and of course that is probably why my body isn't just getting on with it.

On a more cheery note however, Imogen is hilarious, I really am loving this age. She is so, so bossy and her most used phrase at weekends is 'No, stop it Daddy'!!! Current favourite phrase has to be "No, Not!" in answer to many questions. It is so nice to be able to talk with her and she tells me all sorts of things that she has done at the childminders which I understand when she tells me about her day. She plays so nicely with all her toys and talks to them, bosses them about, cooks them tea (mostly chilli!) and does play really nicely on her own. She talks about her 'friends' and who are her 'friends' a lot which is sweet.

Tomorrow is my gran's birthday DH has the day off work and we, my parents and my best friend who is visiting from australia are all going out to a garden cetnre and then to lunch tomorrow so looking forward to that.

Catherine's favourite phrase at the moment is "my do it". It takes so long to do anything because she's insisting on doing it herself. She certainly is my girl - she has my stubbornness for sure! I guess I get to find out first hand, just what a PITA I was after all Wink

Poor girl has 3 molars coming through at once! Her cheeks have been firey red and hot all day and while she's still her usual cheerful self, it's obviously getting her down a bit. It's disturbing her sleep too and she's really tired. She's not been able to nap today though as we were sorting out the last bits with my car and finally picking it up. We'll have a day at home tomorrow I think and just let her chill out. I'd better get to bed myself too - between her waking with her teeth and Alex wetting the bed, none of us got much sleep last night.

It's his dress up day tomorrow. Looking forward to sending my little pirate to School :)

Hope things resolve for you guys soon Ethel and Hercule. The waiting must be so awful.

Oh yes "my do it"!!! I have to try and leave hours to get anything done...

Report
Blatherskite · 02/02/2012 22:28

The "my do it"s today have included - taking her shoes on an off, ditto coat, scarf and hat and at dinner time, stirring the pasta sauce! To be fair, she was very careful and stayed well away from the hot bits - and loved it - but I was very nervous. Especially as Alex was "helping" too so I had two of them to watch!

Grr, sorry for being away for so long, I normally mn on ipod now and forget to check threads I'm on Blush

Ethelred and Hercule, so so sorry to hear your news, how awful for you both :( Awful that you have to wait too, I can't begin to imagine how you both feel :(

Will be back soon to chat some more (I promise!), I just couldn't not say anything to Ethelred and Hercule when I read the thread :(

Thanks Kate - is Rosa getting better now?

Thanks all for your lovely messages. I do really appreciate it. Just want it to be sorted now really so we can move on.

Still full of blinking cold which doesn't help. I feel like I could just get in bed, pull the duvet over my head and go to sleep for a week although that's not going to happen cos I can't stop bloody coughingGrin

DH has been great, came home early from work today with a massive bunch of flowers. Think he's pretty sad about it all too, but he's trying really hard to keep my spirits up.

We are also going through the 'my do it' stage...that combined with the 'don't like it' outbursts makes for a winning combo! Grin DD that is, not DH!!! GrinGrinGrin

Thank you, hercule, she is slowly on the mend, it's horrible when they are ill and still little, at least Noah can talk to us and be bribed with ice lollies and yoghurt Grin At least she's started eating again, that was the most worrying part Confused

Quick question, for the first time ever, I am thinking of name changing. Noah's favourite book atm is Slinky Malinki and there's a great line in there about 'whispers of wickedness', what do you all think? There isn't another one somewhere that I have missed?

I like it Kate :)

Alex's dress up was lovely. I had to add a few extra layers to the outfit as it was bitterly cold all day but he looked great and had a lovely day. He was so tired by the time it got to home time that he sobbed when he dropped his book bag! I know I'm supposed to hate the whole dress up thing but so far, I'm just finding it lots of fun. Ask me again when he's 10 and insists on going as something abstract and I might change my mind though Wink

Off to check out that thread...

Good name Kate! Am too thinking of having a name change but need to be inspired yet!

Are you all getting snow? It's coming down here, Anna is quite excited. Not out in it though as being forced to watch bloody rugby. Deep joy! Grin

Go for it Kate!

We've a smattering of snow so far here - it has settled though like a dusting and I am very excited! We are in south London and predicted heavy snow from 9pm until 9 am... Can't wait!!

Back with my name change :o We've got a little bit of snow, supposed to be heaviest from 10-midnight :) Really want to take Noah out in it tomorrow. DH is now not very well, so might persuade him to stay home with Rosa for an hour tomorrow :)

Aw, that's such a sweet story. We never did anything like that when I was little. I'm so hoping my children will have those sorts of memories when they're older.

Oh and snow - we've got about 1cm. Really hoping we get some more tonight.

That's made me go all teary - in a good way.

Alex has won a couple of prizes for his dress up outfits now. He got a prize at the pre-school leavers disco for his surfer outfit and the Pirate outfit he wore to book day won a prize when he wore it to the School's family disco at hallowe'en. He's wearing it again in a couple of weeks for his friends Pirates and Princesses birthday party so we'll have had plenty of use out of it at least.

I'm currently engrossed in planning his birthday party even though it's not until March! I found Shirley's party planning thread when I was doing Catherine's party and it's very addictive! He's having a pizza making party at Pizza Express and I think I may be more excited than he is :) Then we're of to Legoland for the weekend too. He loves both pizza and lego so hopefully it'll be a birthday to remember.

Oh Lee. I think moving house is more than enough of a reason for not getting round to a party!

If you feel bad you could always let him have a 'just for the sake of it' party? Let him take a couple of friends to the cinema or something? Then come and join us on the party planning thread in time for his tenth and we'll make it amazing Wink

We've got a few inches of snow here now. I'm afraid I'm being completely nesh and refusig to go out in it today. I've got a horrible sore throat again and am having my usual paranoia about it being tonsilitis again so I'm staying in today. Just hoping our grocery delivery gets through. They've texted to say it'll be here between 1 and 2pm but I won't believe it until i see it.

Did it arrive Blathers?!

We have snow, but I am a bit underwhelmed after the 50cm we had last winter :o We go to a Children's centre quite often during the week, so I'm just hoping it'll be open tomorrow and that Rosa will be well enough for a trip out.

Report
Blatherskite · 05/02/2012 20:51

Yes the shopping got here :) Apparently earlier deliveries had been cancelled though so I'm glad I went for after lunch as the roads had been cleared by then.

DH has cleared the drive today too as ours is on a slope and if it gets icy tonight, it would be really tough to get off tomorrow to do the school run.

Both of the children have swimming lessons tomorrow. The pool building is notoriously rubbish so I'm really not looking forward to it as it's going to be cold. I only have to go in with one of them at least I guess!

I hope Rosa is feeling better soon Whispers
