Hi there. Anyone feel up to joining me from Jan 06 ante-natal thread?

P.S I must add that last night I got to sleep from 9pm til 7.30am this morning coz my wee gem went to sleep at 8.30 and slept thru, thought I'd try dropping her dreamfeed as it's getting increasingly hard to get her to take much more than an ounce or two at that feed. I'm happy she's getting enough during the day as this last couple of days she's been taking 6.5oz at each feed as well as a teeny wee bit of baby rice and fruit or veg puree a couple of times a day (before I get pounced on - weaning at 17 wks was advised by HV due to reflux continuing to be a problem)
I spent this afternoon cooking, pureeing and freezing ice cube trays of sweet potato and carrot, the little madam better darn well like the stuff!

loomer - am taking Robin to the cranial osteopath tomorrow for the first time, so I will report back...
on the raisin in the nappy theme, I left the room v v briefly when Robin was about 3weeks old and left my two y o dd there with him. i was in the next room and heard all sorts of horrible choking noises and rushed back in to find his mouth full of dry cheerios. i don't think he swallowed any, but i had to prise his mouth open and hook them out with my little finger. she said she was trying to stop him crying!! not left them alone since, although i will (within the house, to go to the loo or switch washing machine on or other such excitement) when 5 yo son is there as well.

Well, I know all the books etc say starting weaning early won't help them sleep longer, but I'm starting to disagree. I started Lola on a teeny bit of solids on Monday after phoning the HV (I know I said on Sunday I wasn't going to give into the voices and start weaning, but I phoned the HV for advice on her only taking 5oz, and if she took any more just brining it up again and she advised me to try a wee bit of baby rice and simple purees). It was astounding. Not only has she slept thru from 8.30pm both Monday night and last night (til 7.30 yesterday, 6.30 today) but it seems to have increased her appetite for her milk and she's taken 6.5oz at all feeds and hasn't brought much up at all. I wouldn't expect it's cured the reflux but it certainly seems better.
I gave her baby rice and a little apple/banana puree Monday coz it was all I had in the cupboard and she loved it. Yesterday I pureed a load of carrot and sweet potato, she wasn't quite so keen but I'll persevere. Am feeding her the solids between milk feeds rather than with/after as I've read a lot of posts on the Weaning discussion thread from reflux mums who suggest that coz their wee tummys cope better when not getting it all at once. It seems to be working. So she's having milk 7.30am, rice/puree 10am, milk 12noon, milk 4pm, rice/puree 6pm, milk 8pm then bed. I think twice a day is plenty for the moment. Can always introduce a 2pm solid if she seems hungry down the line.
porolli Hope the cranial osteopath goes well today. Lola's got her last jabs this afternoon and we're booked at the chiropractor straight afterwards as she had a bad reaction to the first lot, but not the 2nd when we took her to the chiropractor. Fingers crossed for another good reaction.
