Wow, 12 teeth. We still have six, been that way for absolutely ages, though I think he may have some news ones soon, as he's had a title rosy cheek thing going on ... but that could just be the cold!

It has gone quiet- I just assumed it was my phone playing up again and not loading up any new messages.
Congrats on the interview. Hope it all goes well for you.

NoHunIntended · 08/02/2012 16:49

Harder to get online now than it was when DS was a baby: toddler monkey is keeping me busy, he is a ball of energy and mischief! :)

MonsterBookOfTysons · 08/02/2012 17:11

Hi :)
Dd is teething and ds has conjunctivitis so am being kept busy :)
Congrats on the interview :)

TribbleWithoutaCause · 09/02/2012 18:41

Hello all,

How are you all? I am now a SAHM (for now anyway), I handed my notice in a few weeks back. A bit gutted but it was better that than be fired.

Ah well, ds can now sing the Bob the Builder theme tune. He can also put a box on his head, clearly he is a genius. I may even contact Mensa. Wink

HJisthinkingofanewname · 09/02/2012 19:24

Congrats Trib!

When is Bob on? I used to love it but havent seen it since dd3 got into tv.

NoHunIntended · 09/02/2012 20:38

Ah Trib. Are you ok about not working? Will you have to find a new job? Hope you are ok.

OP posts:
tiredfeet · 09/02/2012 22:11

hello Trib good to hear from you. I'm sorry things have worked out like that for you. On the plus side, I had to hand in my notice once with no job to go to, and although I had wobbles about the decision from time to time, I know looking back that it was definitely the right one. I hope you are enjoying all the extra time with ds Smile and if you're hunting for jobs, I hope the hunt goes well and hope you are doing ok

hj good luck for your interview! my job was advertised as full time but after they offered me the job I asked if I could do four days and they were fine with it. It does mean I really do a full time job in four days, but its worth it.

my jobs just a maternity leave contract, so chewing my nails waiting to find out whether they can find the money to keep me on when she comes back in April.... I really love it there so will be a bit gutted if they can't

TribbleWithoutaCause · 10/02/2012 10:36

At the moment I'm not looking for work, the last six months have been horrendous and I need time to recover from it all. I am, however, going to be applying for a college course come September. I'm going to do an access course for nursing and midwifery. I wanted to do it eventually anyway, so I figure now is a good a time as any. Smile

NoHunIntended · 10/02/2012 15:36

tf, hope they can keep you on.

trib, sounds great, I think being a MW will suit you. Good luck!

We are upping sticks! To Germany! Eek! DH was offered a job on Thursday, we have decided to go for it! It's all been a bit fast, and they want him out soon too, so we are now busy dejunking, and planning what to pack, and what to store. Initially it will be for a project which should take 15-18 months, then if we all like it, we stay, or consider our options! (I have a thread in Living Overseas, with a pseudonym!) I am definitely looking at it as short-term, to make it feel less daunting. I am rather anxious, but excited too. We have a lot to sort out!

We've also got to sort builders out before we go, to do some major work on our property in London, so we can rent it out while we are away. Busy!

OP posts:
HJisthinkingofanewname · 12/02/2012 10:27

Wow! I know you wanted put of London but Germany's a bit different!
Exciting and a good chance while ds is little too.

Ooh he will be able to learn German. Do you speak it? I love the idea of teaching littlies languages but I think you need someone around to be fluent.

NoHunIntended · 12/02/2012 13:34

I wasn't thinking we'd leave London just yet though!

It's currently being viewed by me as a short-term move, and we will see how we like it after the first project is finished. By which time, DS will be three, so not fluent in English even, but we are hoping he will have some good basics of German. I don't speak any yet either. Hoping I will pick it up easily when we are out there.

NoHunIntended · 12/02/2012 13:39

HJisthinkingofanewname · 12/02/2012 15:38

Ich bin elf is all I remember but wOnt help you much since it means 'I am 11' Blush

tiredfeet · 12/02/2012 19:13

oooh nohun how exciting!! I can imagine its quite daunting, but in a way maybe better not to have too much time to think about it! A short -term adventure and then who knows where life will take you after that Smile . I would love to live abroad for a stint like that. I hope you get lots of tips from the living abroad thread

tribble a bit of time off to recover sounds like a good plan. I felt the same after I handed in my notice from my old job, I just knew I needed some time to recover before I started somewhere else, as I was so battered from the experience I wouldn't make a good go of starting somewhere new. Access course sounds like an exciting plan for the future Smile my friend did one a couple of years ago and is now studying physio, there were quite a lot of mums on her course.

NoHunIntended · 12/02/2012 20:04

Not super useful, HJ, but thanks anyway! :)

tf, might you do it too, or are your circumstances not set up to do so? I do feel lucky that DH has a job he can do in various places around the world, and we have no ties here.
