Sorry to hear that it came to that Trib and that you have had such a rough time of it. Enjoy spending time with DS and good luck with your new career path. I take my hat off to you nursing is something that I could not do- even the mw part which I expect is nicer but emotional.

Exciting news Hun hope it all goes well for you. Am sure you will have a great time.
I would also love to move abroad but everytime we have seriously discussed it something has come up, promotions, babies etc. Grin Now we have DD DH would never do it as he is very adamant that she is brought up near her extended family.
I did think when I saw your news that we would miss you on here- but then I realised that they do have internet in Germany Grin I have been once- but can't remember a word of German- and really loved it. Ate out at some lovely places. Though I might be remembering it through rose tinted glasses due to a holiday romance

Is half term this week so am enjoying a break from the routine

HJisthinkingofanewname · 14/02/2012 14:19

Had my interview this morning went ok not wonderful. Bit scared now they'll offer me itBlush.
The work looks good but full time/salary negotiations/very small team are putting me off.
Anyway if I don't get it I've still got a ok job ( most of the time) and good colleagues.

NoHunIntended · 14/02/2012 20:31

Thanks, bp. We will have a good time, I am happy as long as I have DH and DS, wherever we are.

HJ, you don't have to take it though, do you?

DS is back to being a BM fiend.

OP posts:
HJisthinkingofanewname · 14/02/2012 21:22

No. Just feel if they offer me it /offer right money it's hard to turn down.

Dd3 is milk fiend too this week.

NoHunIntended · 14/02/2012 21:25

Because of the money, or other factors?

Maybe there is something in the air! Little monkeys!

OP posts:
HJisthinkingofanewname · 14/02/2012 21:36

Money mainly but it's a good chance to get out of my field without retraining. Plus there's lots of promotion opps and would look VV good on a CV.
Lots of pluses, lots of minuses. Pretty much money that tips the scale.

NoHunIntended · 14/02/2012 21:43

Well good luck whatever you want to do!

OP posts:
HJisthinkingofanewname · 14/02/2012 22:03

But part time could beat money ...

TribbleWithoutaCause · 14/02/2012 23:16

You could always go part time later, nothing is ever forever hj; that's if you do take it that is.

I found out today that my colleges had been asked to report back to my old boss on me just before I handed my notice in. I had a little cry at that; felt quite betrayed.

NoHunIntended · 15/02/2012 00:07

That really sucks, Trib. Did they do it though? Either way, glad you are out of there.

OP posts:
TribbleWithoutaCause · 15/02/2012 00:13

Yeah they did, found out after I told another college that a person I'd been working with had gone behind my back. My college then said that the person had said there had been a number of people reporting back on me.

TribbleWithoutaCause · 15/02/2012 00:15

The thing is I don't know what to do, there has been all this stuff happen and it's driven me insane and I'm so angry about it all. It makes me want to spit nails!!Angry

NoHunIntended · 15/02/2012 01:58

Ask on the Employment board, they should have good advice. I am angry on your behalf. I know all about hell at work. Angry

OP posts:
HJisthinkingofanewname · 15/02/2012 07:37

That's shit trib. Angry

floozietoozie · 15/02/2012 23:14

Blimey, it's all go on here. Trib sorry work was so shit you felt pushed to go, but glad you have some breathing space now and time with DS. You are definitely doing the right thing if you absolutely don't have to work. They grow up so fast, you will look back on this and be glad of the time spent with him. And ace that you're going to train to be a midwife. What an amazing job to do - I thought about it once just before I became pregnant with DS, when I thought I might not ever conceive. Best of luck with it.

And... NoHun how exciting!!! I'm always vicariously thrilled when other people are going off on adventures abroad because that's what I always want to do (well I did do it when I was a young(er) thing, but not for many years now). Can you tell us where you are going to? I went to Germany last summer for a holiday if you remember, and really enjoyed it, even though it was a bit of a conservative part of the country. We stayed in Cologne years ago just passing through on the way to and from Prague by train (dp hates flying) and that was a really great city. I lived with a German girl in university, and I learned to swear: "scheiszer" sp? which means shit, and to say schlaf gut, which means sleep well. I can count to 10 too! Please and thank you, and that's about it. Better check out the maternity services just in case!!! It's fab being on the continent cos you can get to so many other places so easily. Great chance to explore.

HJ hope you get the right result with the interview, which ever way you really want it to go!!

Busy hope you are having a relaxing half term.

The run of illness in our house continues. Poor DS has been ill this week and it's half term. We were supposed to be going on a trip today (which I'd sort of organised, at least had suggested and found out the relevant info) with friends and kids on the train to our destination, which would have been great fun. He's had a cough and cold all week, and then yesterday I thought he was a bit better, went out, and he was sick everywhere after having an ice cream Sad. So bit of a wash-out week for us really. I'm hoping he's on the turn today and will pick up enough to do a bit before school (and work for me) start again next week. I'm also considering applying to alter my hours from three days of eight hours to two of 10 hours. Would be long days but I'd get a whole extra day with dd and not really lose out that much time with both of them on the other days anyway. My lovely not quite but almost manager has been encouraging but I'd have to put it to my actual manager so would depend on what he says. I do have a bit of extra leverage because of ds being disabled and it would make a difference because I'd have an extra day to do stuff with him after school, which I feel he needs. God, I really need to win the lottery!

Trib re the singing - since new year, dd has been singing Twinkle twinkle in perfect pitch. No words but the tune is spot on. She also started singing a song of dp's. So cute listening to her (and also deafening at times!).

NoHunIntended · 15/02/2012 23:55

ft, that is amazing re the singing. Wow.
Sorry to hear your DS is poorly. Hope he gets well soon.

We are off to Frankfurt. I am nervous about not knowing the language. I am trying to learn a bit before we go, but my brain feels like mush! I have found out some things re maternity care - they don have gas and air!!! I can't get over this! Anyway, will cross that bridge as and when - not to a BFP yet, and weaning DS off the BM is not proving very doable, so I am not feeling too hopeful of gettin PG an time soon.
Why don't you up sticks too?! Go on, you know you want to!

OP posts:
MBOTy · 16/02/2012 17:03

We vhave a poorly household atm, dd is poorly but I think that may be to do with her mmr and ds has been unwell with 3 different things this week, I have not done anything fun or useful with them because of it.
pil's are having them tomorrow so I can go swimming as I am missing that.
No gas and air! That is terrifying! Shock

NoHunIntended · 16/02/2012 17:41

Goodness me, sorry for all the typos above!!! Terrible! Stooped iPad!

As, Ty, sorry to hear about the poorly twosome. Hope they get well soon.
What does MBOT mean?

OP posts:
NoHunIntended · 16/02/2012 17:44

Stoopid not stooped!

Aw, not as!

OP posts:
HJisthinkingofanewname · 16/02/2012 19:20

Didnt get the job. Not too upset. Was told v strong interview, written test was the weak spot. Which I knew. Bloke V nice & offered to keep details on file in case of work in future.

I'm feeling a bit weird at the moment. Keep overheating, knackered( but not sleeping well-weird dreams), things taste odd, windy. Sound familiar? BFN. Not told dh as he'd say I was imagining.

MBOTy · 16/02/2012 20:10

Sorry about the job HJ :(
Wow that does sound like you are pg HJ Shock
NoHun, sorry I had forgot about the nc, I am going back to usual in a minute.
MBOT = M onster B ook O T ys Grin

TeaTwoSugars · 16/02/2012 20:39

Ty Oh no, now I'm imagining you as 'Momo bot' off of 'Show me, show me'. Damn you Cbeebies!!!!

HJ Sorry about the hob, also it does sound as if you are pg. I actually had that a while back and did a pregnancy test (BFN) in the loos at Asda. I swore a lot that day looking back. I put it down to stress/mind playing tricks/cute nappy induced broodiness.

I went and took all my stuff into work today, and also chatted with my rep. He said he's going to put it to the employment relations people and raise it with my union. He also said I could write a letter to big boss and tell him off. Also the person who I least expected in the world to be nice to me told me that I didn't deserve to go. I cried at that.

Do you think I should do some ritualistic ceromony and ask for some boils to be placed in some uncomfortable places? Grin

TeaTwoSugars · 16/02/2012 20:39

Nohun Are you scampering off pretty quickly (like in the next few weeks)?
