You see my boys boys lost their dad, when they were just teenagers, james would have been 13, he had an heart attack, james was very close to his father, with all his problems the bullying ect, and it shuck his world the most i think, as my other boys were able to cope better.

I hope my post wasnt to sad, as today i feel beter, and i know my boy will come to me, and trust me to help him whichever way i can, which means the world to me.

hello junies
it appears MN was down for a while

just had some haggis for dinner, first time ever, and it was ok, must be all the lard.

2Happy · 28/01/2006 08:28

SFX if you really want lard have a haggis supper - deep fried haggis and chips. Mmmmmmmm. Can't beat it

MrsWednesday · 28/01/2006 20:37

I'm - just had a rubbish chinese takeaway, too greasy.

Lovely to see you on Thursday Trib, sorry if DS1 wore you out

Cratchit, what a lovely and moving post. So sorry about your brother, it must be very, very hard for you all.x

KVG, good to see you again, hope you manage to get some rest soon, you must be running on empty at the moment.

Don't feel guilty Lua, I'm happy to go anywhere! Are you feeling a bit more rested?

Had a lovely time choosing little girl clothes for my new niece today For all that she is a beautiful baby it hasn't made me long for the early days - DS2 is at such a lovely, chubby, smily age now, and is genuinely a happy little soul unless he's hungry (a bit like his mother ).

EYM, how lovely that your DS wanted to share that with you. Hope you are ok - think you would be up for a meet-up this week?

Right, I've got Heat to read so I'm going to go and sprawl out on the settee.

teabelly · 29/01/2006 15:20

Afternoon Ladies

Sorry, not been lurking, been a poorly Teabelly household this last week or so [sad sniffing sorry for self emoticon] But colds and terrible throats are on the wane now so feeling somewhat more like normal, hence able to jump staright back on the pc and see what I've been missing

Trib - Happy belated Birthday sweetie, sorry it wasn't all you hoped for...if you do arrange to come down this way to meet when you see your friends we'll have a girlie celebration and leave the lads minding their kids!

2Happy - re 2nd Job hunt...am now going to take on Kleenezee parttime to make up shortfall, and remortgage as we could save almost £100 pm on our current deal! Very about your electrics!!! Sorry not keeping up with things, are you north of the border? Didn't they bring in the 'sellers pack' up there, or were they just talking about it?? Hope it's sorted out soon and not too expensively, grrrr.

Cratchit - sorry to read about your brother, my sister has attempted it 4 times now, luckily for us none were ever really meant as she was always sure of being found in time...wish things had been different for your family, x

Mrs W - big welcome to little Emily 'Tribpot' Wednesday

Katz - sorry about your fil. Afraid i'm unable to offer any advice re telling dd1, but with regards to my ds, they know things are up and hear you talking so don't avoid telling her but I'd keep it simple, she'll ask more questions if she needs to know more than you tell her.

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all well

In the Tea household our new tricks are waving hello and goodbye, putting our arms up for a pick up, and bum shuffling over to the dvd to pull it off the shelf and annoy ds whilst he's trying to watch and be spiderman

muma3 · 30/01/2006 12:32

hi all !!!!!

have a really bad cold /flu been to the docs this morning and have a chest infection so the nurse put me on the strongest anti-biotics she could. having paracetamol/asprin/caffiene tabs and they seem to be helping.

took dp to the hospital this morning , we had to be there for 7.30am so my friends cousin stayed the night and took us while her friend watched my girls and took dd2 to school. he is having operation on his hand . he has a deformity and he has a pin in his index finger that needs replacing and lengthening. he will be going to theatre right now.
i am so worried about him as he hasnt had an op on his hand since he was 13y and only has bad memories of hospital (due to him nearly dying one time).

dd1 is ok . just waitng for an appointment now for the family centre . she has been referred and it shouldnt be too long . think she wants to go back to school but def not the old school she wants to go to a different one now. i told her that when she has an appointment with the lady at the centre then we will see what she says and maybe start looking into getting her a place in a new school. feeling a lot better now and i know i did the right thing. got a letter from the head mistress basically saying that they were unaware of the problems she was having and that they dont agree with my decision but hope dd1 all the best in the future!!! ffs bloody cheek of her

dd2 is fine as usual (touch wood) her asthma is settled and she still manages to go to school even though she did say that she misses her sister

dd3 well what can i say she is a lil darlin she is very mobile now but still not crawling. she has got thrush in her mouth at the moment and is a bit groggy with her teeth but still no sign of any!!! not eati ng a awful lot due to these probs. 1 meal a day? lots of bottles though.

me and dp? well things could be better but we are getting by like always. really worried about him today . 4 hours he was in hospital doing nothing untill his operation , just sitting there getting more nervous.
phone at 2.30pm to see if he ok and what ward they are going to put him on .

any way thats all from me at the moment .
sorry havent had time to catch up with everyone. will do soon im sorry
love me xxx

chocolateshoes · 31/01/2006 17:45

Yippeee! DS is really moving now...only its still backwards ! Hope all June Mums are fine.

Bubbaloo · 31/01/2006 21:20

Logging on for a quick hello.

All's well here.Ds saw the specialist tonight.Just as I thought,he does have one leg longer than the other but only by 4mm,so absolutely nothing to worry about.
His feet are also coming along nicely.Still has to wear the little boots but the consultant was so pleased that he doesn't need to see him again for a whole year!!!!

No crawling here or even sitting up properly.Lots of bottom in the air acrtion but that's about it really. Also lots of pulling mummy's hair and finding it funny, and still loads of non stop laughing and shrieking which is fab.

Hope everyone and the junie babies are all well.x

mcmudda · 31/01/2006 21:26

Hi everyone

Just back from a week a Center Parcs which was soooo good!

Dd finally has her 2 bottom teeth.

Still no rolling of any kind but she sits beautifully for ages.

She's really short for her age, but very very fat for her height IYSWIM - total michelin baby! I've never actually seen her ankles or wrists because they're enveloped in chub But she's only just over 9kg so nothing to worry about I guess.

Makes me want to sink me teeth into her though- she's so delicious.

8 mth check with HV in 2 weeks. Maybe she'll roll by then - I can imagine dd becoming a bum shuffler though so maybe she won't even bother rolling.

Hope everyone's fine - can really recommend Center Parcs for little ones - totally geared up for young families and v cheap if you go during termtime.

sfxmum · 01/02/2006 11:09

hello allfeeling really upbeat this week, how odd most unlike me

bubb - good news on legs, somehow they always find a way to go and get what they want

dd appears to be the only junie still toothless! and 8m tomorrow!!
she now keeps shoving things in her gob until she gags and makes puke sounds, its alarmingbut nothing comes out i am glad to report

take care all and northen ladies hope you have a fun meet

katzg · 01/02/2006 12:01

great to hear some more junies are on the move! DD2 is now cruising too well and occasionally she lets go and stays standing for a minute, don't think it will be long before shes walking round!

Well today is the first day i haven't been home for lunch to breastfed DD2 and so far so good, but boy do i miss her, which is strange because i have been back at work for weeks now!

chocolateshoes · 01/02/2006 13:28

No teeth here either SFX...am sure they can't be far off as DS is getting a bit fractious

Bubbaloo · 01/02/2006 14:30

No teeth here either!

Cratchit · 01/02/2006 14:35

Nor here!

katzg · 01/02/2006 14:38

we've got 2 whole teeth and 1 half tooth!

OP posts:
katzg · 01/02/2006 14:55

okay problem for the day is:

DD1 (3) has been going to nursery (A) since she was 11 months old, just 2 days a week and since sept 2 half days (DH changed job and is home more). She soon got very bored and missed being at nursery so we enroled her at the foundation 1 stage nursery (B)which she started in jan.

She loves going to nursery A and presumed that she would love nursery B, but no she hates it, she cried for 30mins before DH left the house with her today, all the way on the walk there and he left her crying. She's not a tearful little girl at all. Whereas when going to Nursery A she rabbits on nineteen to the dozen about all the things shes going to do and bursts into tears when shes picked up at lunch she doesn't want to go home!

What do we do? Nursery A is nearer work for me and a bit of a trek to get to plus would cost extra money each month, and also nursery B is attached the foundation 2 stage she will be going to sept 2007.

Help

2Happy · 02/02/2006 10:37

Katz - I don't suppose there's a nursery C?!.... I don't know anything about nurseries TBH, but I'm sure the Junies will give their usual great advice But can I ask more about your feeding dd?? How many feeds a day is she on now? ds gets bfed three times a day, which is difficult on the days I'm working to rush over to feed him. I'm not sure how old he needs to be for me to drop a feed. I'd thought about 10 months, but maybe I can do it sooner. He doesn't seem to miss my boobs if I'm late, I think it's a case of out of sight out of mind. He eats his solids really well and his growth is fine. But I don't want to drop it too early. What do you (and other clever Junies) think? (Not planning on feeding him until he's 8 anyway like the ch4 prog !)

I hope all the colds and flus are getting better now.

Muma3 - hope dd's doing ok. Any news from the family centre?

Good news about ds bubbs

Sfx you feeling better?

Mcmudda glad you had a good hol, sounds fantastic.

Chocolate - congrats on the moving! It's so cool, but at the same time a little scary to think that they're really going to be hard work now

We're off to stay at the in laws today, so will only be able to lurk at work probably. While we're away we're getting the central heating put in and, hopefully, the rubbish electrics looked at. The inlaws have left for costa rica this morning - I'm sure that's a little extreme to avoid me At least that means we can turn their heating on while they're away - normally their house is even colder than ours. Mil has left an entire lever arch folder of instructions for the house - I had to stop myself from pointing out that dh did used to live there you know!! Anyway, will catch up when I get back, best wishes to all these rapidly mobilising babies in the meantime
