JKSLtd · 30/11/2011 07:55

Ugh, AF arrived. After 16months off I haven't missed it.

Back later once I've read through & caught up.

Cyclebump · 30/11/2011 08:22

Semi decent night but H has caught my cold and slept on me on the sofa from 5.30am as he was so snotty. It seems he only wants mummy when he's ill. Good job he's so handsome!

Sounds nasty Jo, hope that last night was ok.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/11/2011 08:49

Yuk, sounds like a bug JoEW, hopefully it will be a short lived one. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for your dream house.

What a bummer JKS, I am not looking forward to the return of AF. I've hardly had any periods in the past six years and I've quite gotten used to it tbh. Once AF comes back this time I'll be having them until the menopause, what a scary thought! I've got an unused moon cup in my cupboard that I will eventually use

JKSLtd · 30/11/2011 08:53

ILike - I had to search around last night for my mooncup, it was gathering serious dust in the back of the cupboard. I love it by the way, and have converted quite a few friends now. It really is much easier, better, greener, comfier, etc. I could go on...lol Grin

MrsWajs - hugs re your Dad hope he's ok. I totally get that kind of humour, you have to laugh or you'll cry kind of thing. We adopted similar when DS2 was in hosp/suffering with his epilepsy. His head used to drop a lot and I used to hum the Noddy theme tune to myself Hmm Grin
Mil obv thought i was bonkers, hey ho, i probably was.

Well, DD was up in the night being sick. her tummy was making funny noises but i changed what needed to be changed, gave her a dummy and she went back off. it happened twice, and once just now but she seems happy enough.
Also doesn't seem hungry (so boobs are rock hard & she willh ave to have some milk in a mo).

Do I risk going out to a pre-planned Christmas orchestra lunch that's 45mins drive away....?

JKSLtd · 30/11/2011 20:59

Not good DD still puking up every feed, just now been sick in bed but think she nay have gone back to sleep. Apart from being tired & grumpy this evening she has been fine in herself so it can't be too serious. And she has some safety margin in the weight dept Wink

Hope we all get some sleep tonight & she's better tomorrow.

GsyGacheFiend · 30/11/2011 22:51

Hope all the vomiting babies Get Well Soon.

star My baby P loves the remote too

Apart from chicken pox we seem to have avoided all the other winter bugs around so far. I'm sure it's only a matter of time. DS has his pre-school booster jabs next Tuesday so will probably come down with something afterwards. I remeber his 1st Xmas, we postponed xmas dinner until new year as so many members of the family (including all 3 of us) were ill.

My AF returned properly earlier this month, so this morning I finally went for my smear test (the reminder letter came in August Blush). It reminded me of the old "smear test knicker hiding thread". FWIW I left mine in plain sight on top of my bag Wink

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 01/12/2011 06:24

Urgh!
That is all

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/12/2011 07:49

Oh dear Fizz!

I am poorly, typical! DS1 all better though and did a full day preschool yesterday.
I think I have mastitis, my boob is killing me and I feel awful Sad

JKS I hope DD has been better overnight and that you got some sleep.

DairyBeetle · 01/12/2011 08:20

passes round boxes of lovely, soft, non-nose-shredding tissues<

Bleugh, I'm still full of cold and have now lost my voice. DH has insisted I stay home today, so I'm at home without S ALL DAY...this is the first time in nearly 8 months I've had the day to myself. I'm not sure what to do with myself!

MrsW I hope you dad is doing better. I get just what you mean about the humour as a coping mechanism. My family are the same, which given the long list of medical problems (Diabetes to deafness, Thyroid probs to Alzheimer's) we have in our family makes for some rather black humour!

I hope the sicky and snuffly babies are starting to perk up now.

No AF here yet (and I'm happy with that thank you!) though I have noticed I keep getting period pain type cramps. I hope they don't come back in full force as I used to end up spending a couple of days curled into a ball from the pain which isn't quite as do-able now I have S to sort out. But when AF does return I'll be dusting of my mooncup...when I find it...among the boxes yet to be unpacked from when we moved house...over a year ago..!

Dairy Envy Sleep? EnvyEnvy

Grin
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/12/2011 08:57

It is a shitter that you are I'll Dairy, but I am v jealous too. Sleep, eat chocolate and watch shite tv!

How are you doing Ali? Take ibuprofen for the inflammation and feed, feed, feed. You probably know that already, but thought I would mention it just incase.

I went to see Twilight last night. It was fab and a pile of shite all rolled into one Grin

Lol at leaving your knickers in sight Gache? Talking of smears and all things fanny, how do you pronounce Gache? In my head I say 'gash', which I titter at from time to time because I am childish Blush Grin

MrsWajs · 01/12/2011 09:29

ILTMI Grin I am pronouncing it "gash" in my head too!!

GGF Nowt wrong with leaving your knickers on display, trying to remember what I did with mine last time, probably nothing as I was shitting myself a little bit about having the speculum inserted! She used the smaller one Blush bless her!

Hope all's ok Fizz and the "urgh" isn't a new kitchen related drama!

Yuck to the cold dairy but yay for child free day!! Very Envy.

For those of you that have mentioned them....what the hell are mooncups??? I'm possible being very naive but have never heard of them in my life!

AF has been back here for what seems like forever, due to not breastfeeding obv. Last one was a little odd, quite light and have still been having cramps now that it's gone?! Had a mild panic yesterday about being pregnant again but have managed to ram that thought to the back of my mind!! I know I'm keen for another one but I dont think right now is an ideal time!!

In dad news, he's still in hospital but hopefully getting home today or tomorrow. They had told him he could go home yesterday but then changed their minds at the last minute as he still needed IV antibiotics. Idiots.

SIL is still pregnant! I'm now anticipating her going into labour on the day of R's christening as that would just be our luck!! Christening is the 11th of this month but now DPs sisters kids all have hand, foot & mouth, as does one of our friends little boy so the guests are dropping like flies! Hopefully they'll all be better before then, anyone know how long it takes to get rid of HF&M?? Really don't want R or DSS getting it in time for Christmas!

Not much else going on here, off to toddlers shortly and then to Tesco to do a big shop. Hopefully the trolleys will be less problematic this time!! Hmm

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/12/2011 09:30

I am allergic to ibuprofen (asthmatic) so just paracetamol, and I use my wheat bag. And a hairbrush on my boob to try and break up any blockages. It is agony, and I am all stiff across my chest and down my right arm.
DH is able to work from home today so can help with nappy changes and mealtimes thank goodness! DS1 is going to be watching a lot of TV today...

MrsWajs · 01/12/2011 09:31

Oh and R also loves the TV remote and my mobile so have had to give her an old one to drool into play with :)

chillikat · 01/12/2011 10:25

Ali hope it sorts itself soon. Until my blocked duct last week I'd assumed that the potential for such problems was over. Unfortunately I've had the lansinoh back out for the first time in 7 months because i think her teeth are scraping on my nipple occasionally, or her latch is a bit dodgy in the night.

I'm also full of cold - sore throat, snotty nose and hacking cough but at least the cough sounds good Hmm. I'm currently drinking gallons of hot vimto - my cold choice during the day and am already thinking about a ginger wine later :o

M is currently having an early nap after waking at 6 and not going back to sleep. DH is off tomorrow so we can turn alarms off and hope she sleeps longer tonight so we might get a bit more sleep too.

Time to hit Amazon for some Christmas shopping.

JKSLtd · 01/12/2011 10:34

Ali - hope it eases soon.

DD seems better, phew.
She was sick at 9 but not again since then. She's had 3 milk feeds & some breakfast and gone to bed. Fingers crossed.

Boiler has died. not good. got fire on so have to try and keep that going all day (& night?). Boiler man hopefully rescuing us later.

Had planned to go into town for some shopping, may have to copy & do online stuff instead. Though i'd fancied a stroll around before it got manic but was still Christmassy IYKWIM.

Mooncup - here you have to get your head round doing things differently but it really is fab :)

Um, forgotten what else i was going to say!
Oh yes Dairy - sleep, chill, lie on sofa with blanket, etc Envy Though actually if i was sensible i would try and sleep now too, now i think of it maybe i will go and lie down...

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 01/12/2011 10:36

MrsW Once the spots are out for HF&M about 5 days, but you can be contagious 7 days before they appear. B was fine when he had it thought, a little bit gurny but not too bad.

The Urgh earlier was sleep related. B woke ever hour last night, finally waking at 5 to play. I just up with him gave him his breakfast at 5.30. Tried to get him back to sleep afterwards but he was having none of it. He eventuallly crashed at 9, but I think I can hear him now again :(. Its rubbish being here, mum is good, but its through the night thats the issue. Plus him sleeping in the same room as me makes it interesting. I lie in bed scared o move incase I wake him then I can't slee because I'm expecting him to wake up. Thank god I can go home tomorrow.

I feel really guilty about being grumpy, because he's not waking screaming, just chatting to himself and giggling.

He is standing now, only needing a little support not to topple over! Cruising by Christmas I think!!

Sounds like he's gone back to sleep! Phew! Brew for me!

Cyclebump · 01/12/2011 17:44

Is no one untouched by gross coldy bugs? Sigh.

Sounds like a rough night Fizz and poor you Ali, that must be agony Sad

Not much going on this end, decent night, went out for nappies, got married, went for lunch with an old friend who'd come down to be my witness and we're having a takeaway tonight. Good times [smoke]

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/12/2011 17:47

Eeekkkk! Congratulations Cycle!! Grin

I shall raise a Wine to you later :)

I'm feeling a bit better, have tried to do as little as possible today and feed T whenever possible. Several angry red lines on my boob though. Will see what tonight brings and head to the GP in the morning if things aren't much better.

JKSLtd · 01/12/2011 17:56

CYCLE!! wow I love your style!
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Cycle Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/12/2011 18:23

Woohoo. Many many congratulations Cycle, how wonderful Smile All of he details please!

Have you told your parents yet? Grin

Ali - another (maybe unwanted!) tip, feed T in as many positions as possible to ensure maximum drainage. I have also heard that putting their nose in the direction of the blockage/red lines when feeding can help. Good luck, hopefully you can get rid of it without a trip to the GP.

kittycatcat · 01/12/2011 18:39

Yaaaaaay congrats cycle fab news xxx

Starshaped · 01/12/2011 18:53

Congratulations Mrs and Mr Cycle! Fabulous news!

Tea and sympathy to all those who are under the weather.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/12/2011 19:06

ILike - not unwanted at all but we have been doing feeding gymnastics here today. T is quite a lump so it has taken a bit of doing but he's fed from all sides on the sore boob Grin

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 01/12/2011 19:13

Aw cycle! Congratulations!! Fab news! Good thinking on the date! First day of the advent calendar!
