Congrats cycle. Enjoy your takeaway :)

Cyclebump · 01/12/2011 19:41

Families supportive and all is well. Still feels a bit unreal but rather nice.

BuckminsterFullerene · 01/12/2011 19:50

Congratulations Cycle!

Nothing that exciting here - F's getting over his slapped cheek (although he's got some interesting nappies still), we did all our xmas shopping yesterday (made the most of strike day!) - F was fab in the carrier! And the mooncup's been out already - I love my mooncup!

Oh, and we've had success with the night nappies - tesco ultra dry with a wrap (not dared try without the wrap yet). At least they're working for now.

Just found out 2 friends are pg, but they don't know about each other yet. It's so exciting! I'm so pleased for them. Grin

GsyGacheFiend · 01/12/2011 22:45

ThanksSmile Thanks Congratulations Mr & Mrs Cycle Thanks Smile Thanks

GsyGacheFiend · 01/12/2011 23:01

Gosh ladies, you pronounce it gosh.
My full name would be pronounced Guernsey Gosh Fiend. i.e. I am rather partial to a slice of Guernsey Gache (the local speciality fruity bread)

MrsWajs I'd never heard of a mooncup until I started on MN either.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/12/2011 23:58

I have also been pronouncing it 'gash' Grin

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 02/12/2011 02:05

:o at gay gash fiend! That's exactly what I thought your name was the first time I saw it!!

Currently lying in bed listening to B play with an empty packet of wipes. This pack has special powers that renders the average crying baby mute! Upon removing said packet from muted baby, crying returns at standard volume. The only way to kerosene baby mute is to leave the pack within grasping range. nothing else will do.

architien · 02/12/2011 08:08

Cycle Happy first morning of the rest of your life :D Thanks

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Cycle

:D

architien · 02/12/2011 08:21

GGF In my head it read Gay gash friend Confused Oh dear :( I knew you were too much of a lady for that to be the case so I trained myself to see GGF. Dyslexia can cause hilarity in this house though. The other day I sent DH an email telling him about what I had done in the day entitled Banking and Washing done, good all done cup of tea here I thought. Except my silly and downright embarrassing at times brain switched the two first letters round Blush without realising and poor DH's colleague saw an email with a very dubious title from me on his email list. Oh God!

JKSLtd · 02/12/2011 08:54

PMSL Arch!

GGF - i have been reading it as Gay Gash fiend too - though i don't know what gash might men?

feeling shite here today, think i've got what DD had. except for some reason my stomach won't throw up, i keep feeling like i will but nothing happens. I think the baby system of instant puking actually is muchbetter.

fraktious · 02/12/2011 14:06

Ooooh congrats Mr and Mrs Cycle!

GGF - I've been reading pronounced gash but gache like tâche so it didn't clock as the derogatory term for a part of the female anatomy.

I must do a long catchup post at some point but loads going on here including a spectacular head/chair incident following a bunny hip yesterday and attempts at cruising.

GsyGacheFiend · 02/12/2011 16:17

Hurray, 5mins peace as both children are glued to Mike the Knight.

Grin Grin Wanking & Bashing, nice one Arch. DS just came over to ask me what was so funny, so I had to make up a chicken crossing the road joke, good job he can't read a lot yet.

Fizz Wetwipe packets are like baby catnip, they never fail.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/12/2011 16:35

T also loves packets of wipes, very weird!

I feel so much better today. Boob is sore but largely from all the massaging and poking I was giving it yesterday, the red lines are gone and I don't feel like I've got the flu. Good to see my immune system is working despite the lack of sleep and excessive quantities of cake Xmas Grin

I have ordered my secret Santa present!

arch that is hilarious!

JKS - hope you are feeling ok

What are those of you with older DCs buying for your babies? We already have a ride-on rocker thing, a wooden walker with bricks, several sets of stacking rings/cups, shape sorters plus a whole load of other stuff.
My parents are getting T one of those things with beads on wires that you push along, MIL has bought him an interactive Winnie-the-Pooh - in short he needs nothing but we obviously want to get him something.
There is a Fisher Price train with animals that DH is quite taken with, but apart from that we're stumped.

DH has just brought me a G&T Xmas Grin

JKSLtd · 02/12/2011 16:41

ANother love of wipes packets here :)

I'm ok, feeling crap bt not as awful as i was during the night. I don't understand why i just wasn't sick to get it over with. i still haven't been sick and i might even be a bit hungry so think i've turned the corner. Bad headache & v tired despite being in bed as much as poss today. Nasty bug. But should still be able to go ahead with plans for weekend, i hope.

Re presents - v lazy we (i mean me obv) have just got DD clothes so far Blush as she's the first girl it's the only thing i can say we actually need and even then she has tonnes of handmedowns anyway.

I have bid on some toys off ebay that might be some for her and some for DS2, i know her 'pile' will look pathetic in comparison otherwise - whilst DS1's will be huge but hey he's the only one that will notice!
I may put some money in her account to make up for it.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/12/2011 16:47

JKS that is the issue, that T's heap is going to be mini in comparison to DS1's! We haven't spent a huge amount on DS1 this year (probably more than I realise though once I add up all the bits and bobs!), we have put money aside towards getting a big climbing frame/slide combo thing for the garden, but everyone else in the family goes a bit mad as ours are the only little children at the moment.

JKSLtd · 02/12/2011 17:06

I have cheated with DS2 as he mostly plays with all the stuff we have already (too much i know!) - so i've bought him a new duvet.
It makes the pile look bigger and it's something that he could do with at some point. He's still in a toddler bed with a cotbed size duvet so it's not essential but i'm going to give that duvet to DD.
Can you think of anything either big/big-looking or overly-packaged that you could get him?
I was trying to think of something small that came in a huge box lol! but never came up with anything, maybe you'll have better luck than me.

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 02/12/2011 17:26

One of the supermarkets were doing massive boxes of Mega Blocks recently, either Asda or Sainsbos. I thought about getting B some, but them mum mentioned she'd seen the deal and got him some. I dread to think how much stuff she's bought him! They are taking 2 cars down at Christmas!

I'm still in the homeland. The bad weather has meant my dad has struggled getting the worktops cut and units put together. Combined with the crappy electrics the bodge a job previous owners put in the kitchen he's having a bit of a nightmare. We'll hopefully get a call tomorrow to say it's habitable again!

architien · 02/12/2011 17:28

I've got a huge box that the fridge freezer came in. I am going to put wrapped presents inside it upright and back fill it with balloons. Hopefully that will be exciting to open!

JKSLtd · 02/12/2011 17:43

Ih that reminds me last year I filled a box (not as big as yours Arch) with a couple of helium balloons and some normal balloons.
Was a big hit.

Though have since read stuff on MN that makes me feel bad about helium balloons so not sure if I should do it again.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/12/2011 18:08

What a fab idea Arch.

What is wrong with helium balloons? Is it the stuff they are made from?

Am so glad you clarified you name Gache Grin I thought I had a potty mind, but it seems there's worse on here with the whole gay gash fiend!

JKS how on earth can you have gone this far in life at not heard a fanny being referred to as a gash? You're from Essex as well aren't you?! Grin Wink

For Christmas I have got I a book, a bath squirter, models of sea creatures to go in the bath, magic flannel, matey bath foam, pj's.

architien · 02/12/2011 18:21

I'm not sure where it came from...maybe it was gleaned from JKS ?

BTW for the record I thought it said friend not fiend..surely a bit better?!...Oh God am I appearing potty minded?

JKSLtd · 02/12/2011 19:18

Can I point out now very clearly that I am NOT from Essex Grin

I'm Irish but left when I was 7 when my parents moved abroad & don't have an Irish accent so most people don't believe me when I say I am.

GlaikitFizzEggNog · 02/12/2011 19:30

Just got a phone call. I didn't get the job :(:(

I should have known really as my boss basically said they didn't want it to be a part time position or they would lose the extra hours. if I go back as normalmy pt hours will be in addition on my team. :(

Happy Friday night me !

Starshaped · 02/12/2011 19:42

Oh Fizz :( - rubbish :(
