Thanks everyone for your help/advice about starting the breast feeding again. will def stick at it for a few days and see if i have any luck Xmas Smile

mpops yes hurricane bawbag(!!) seems to have past! honestly, only in scotland/glasgow would they come up with that name! starting to get some snow flurries again, did say on news it was going to get very cold again over the next few days!

we had an ok night. managed to get her down for 9pm, and thats her just got up now. was waking a lot throught night with what sounded a very blocked nose! dont know if by me leaving the heating on, its making room to stuffy. might just have to set timer for a few bursts through the night.

trying to eat a bit better but its soo difficult. breakfast is porridge covered in sugar and a nice cup of tea with a few custard creams on the side. one step at a time eh? Xmas Wink

GroovyRach · 09/12/2011 09:06

oh and ment to add, sophia is 10 weeks today! where has the time went?! anyone else miss being pregnant...?

bilblio · 09/12/2011 10:12

mpops I'm not getting any pain this time around, but with DD I was in a lot of pain for at least 6 weeks then it started easing. I pretty certain I damaged my hips in labour (I was in stirrups, but they positioned them wrong and I was screaming in pain) and that is what caused the SPD this time around. So my advice is see your GP and talk to them about a physio referral.

I've got a very miserable snotty boy this morning. I've got a very sore throat and I suspect he has too. Do strepsils go through breast milk? :)

That fudge recipe looks great. I've been wanting to make some toffee or fudge so I'll have to try it. I was tweaking cookie recipes yesterday.

We use a sling too. I have a stretchy wrap, like a moby but home made, I used it a lot in the first couple of weeks, but then I got my Mum to make me a mei tai. It's fantastic, I use it everywhere, we've only had the pram out a handful of times. Seth falls asleep within minutes of being in it, so I can get on with housework... or baking :)

Right, shower and supermarket now. I'm hoping a shower will help to clear Seth's wheeziness too.

Am having one of those days! Have just discovered that I lost my purse when I was out on Tuesday

Scheherezade · 09/12/2011 11:36

I was given a sling, but I just couldn't work it, his head always seemed to loll about and fall back, I couldn't get it to hold him in a nice curved 'banana' shape, so I've just got a nice industrial baby bjorn carrier - I like it because he's well and truly strapped in and not going anywhere!

Can't decide whether to get dressed and attempt to walk dog with baby in carrier, or just stay in PJs.....

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 09/12/2011 11:37

Stupid iPhone
So I've spent all morning cancelling cards and will now have to wait a week before I have access to a switch/credit card Angry
perfect time of year to have no cards/cash eh!

I'll have to make more fudge tonight to make myself feel better. Wink

Scheherezade · 09/12/2011 11:38

groovyrach - I don't necessarily miss being pregnant, but I do miss the excitement of not knowing when he'll come, and how the labour/birth would happen! in the end he was 4 weeks early and it was all over in a few hours, bah! I feel cheated!

GroovyRach · 09/12/2011 11:47

I never did share my birth story. Must do it soon! I love reading how others got on Smile

ed ahh! Never fun loosing purse never mind 14(?) days before Xmas!

Scheherezade · 09/12/2011 13:05

god is it only 14 Confused

I need to ring the landlord and tell him the toilet is blocked, and we've managed to smash a hole in the (enamel) sink. I'll leave out that the wardrobe door has fallen off, and I broke the hoover dropping it down the stairs. So first I need to try create a tidy looking house, and, get dressed! Impossible with a baby demanding to be fed/held constantly.... (am writing on here when BF....)

CheshireDing · 09/12/2011 13:08

Those of you who are running again now what kind of bra are you wearing?

There does not seem to be anything which is necessary for bf and running (don't want to end up with spaniels ears!)

Scheherezade · 09/12/2011 14:36

running?! are you mad woman?! I CBA even walking the 150 yards to the shop!

There, kitchen and living room clean, under the sink bleached. Bathroom bleached. Baby asleep. House still looking filthy. You know that feeling when stuff just doesn't feel clean? My house is so dusty, it's all dark wood, and shite furniture that gets/creates dust. I need to hoover but can I? No. Why? Because I broke the (landlords dyson) hoover.

Cup of Tea time.

CountryMama · 09/12/2011 14:42

Cheshire: re bras for running - last time round I ran from 6 weeks onwards and just wore 2 bras! That was my only solution!

TallyBear · 09/12/2011 19:56

No running for me either. Couldn't do it before so certainly can't do it now. Am trying to get out and about with the pram every day and walking quickly (partly to warm up!) so that will be my exercise.

Quick question: does baby still need to be feet to foot if in a sleeping bag?

Away for the night tomorrow, need to work out what to pack, arrh!

TallyBear · 09/12/2011 19:57

Oh, and had to buy a large toblerone - £1 in poundland. It was calling me!

Fleecy · 09/12/2011 22:44

Ooh we had the poundland ones this week too - bought the regular ones plus limited edition white choc. Yum!

Ate the fudge today. It is very rich but if you alternate pieces of fudge with satsuma segments you can eat a lot more Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 09/12/2011 23:02

Wish there was a "like" button on MN fleecy I like ur last post

GroovyRach · 09/12/2011 23:05

LOL @ the satsuma segments!! Grin

TallyBear · 09/12/2011 23:20

If you put fruit in the fudge would it could as one of your five a day?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 10/12/2011 00:05

I got the recipe from nigella and she mixes pistachios through it.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 10/12/2011 00:06

I caved to my twilight obsession and have now or breaking Dawn on DVD (I don't feel guilty because I'll be the first to buy a real copy wen it's available in the shops)
Tonight I watched it and ate my way through an ENTIRE bag of twirl bites Blush

Scheherezade · 10/12/2011 16:13

that sounds good edwardor. Today i had 2 bacon & egg sandwiches, took the dog for a walk and felt sorry for myself the whole time.

Need to try getting arse into gear. Impossible when everything seems so crap (but my baby is absolutely gorgeous so it's ok).

MamaMaiasaura · 10/12/2011 16:16

Wish j would nap. She fights it all day. Can't get anything done or spend time with ds's Sad sat typing and rocking her.when we does sleep ds2 wakes her SadSadSad dh thinks I got blues

MamaMaiasaura · 10/12/2011 20:05

Sorry for Downer post. X

MrsHende · 10/12/2011 20:32

Oh Scheh and Awen, sorry you're both feeling down. I don't know what to say to help but couldn't read your posts without commenting.

Lack of sleep and a screaming baby are hard, hard work. Keep going girls, it can only get easier xx

GroovyRach · 10/12/2011 22:27

Aww, we all have down days, I know I certainly did! I forget what she everyone's babies are, but there was a period when S was 5/6 weeks when I thought I had hit rock bottom. I was exhausted, S wasn't sleeping well at all, wouldn't let me put her down, my house was a mess and had had an argument with her dad. after a full day of screaming, I phoned my mum n told her to come up and sit with her as I just needed 30 mins away from her or I was gonna put her into a room and close the door Sad. I felt awful for it but I was at breaking point. It was good just to go and get a shower, make something to eat, even do the dishes!!! Hmm. I thought I was developing PND, I think I maybe did have a slight touch of it. Thankfully I feel in a btr place now. Her dad isn't interested so it's just me and S and I couldn't be happier Smile

Hugs to you all xx
