Sorry Meglet if you wanted to start the thread with your title but I thought I'd best do it while there was still one space to post the link to this one on the last one.

There are so many coughs and colds around atm. Get well soon.

No labour here but boobs have become very tender and bump dropped again - very low. Also feeling quite restless and emotional today. Hoping its a good sign.

Becaroooo · 17/11/2011 17:37

mrsa If you start needing to defrost the freezer its go time!!!! Or maybe thats just me??? Grin

Feeling v sorry for myself today

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 17/11/2011 18:19

I am so restless, feel like pacing the floor but no other signs...

Becaroooo · 17/11/2011 20:02

ooohhhhh......things are looking hopeful mrsa !!!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/11/2011 20:50

What's up Bec?

If you still feel restless MrsA, go for a walk before bed. Then hopefully you should have a better chance of sleeping tonight - just incase something is on the offing.

I bloody hated potty training. I had no real clue what I was doing and I done it when I wanted it done, not when ds was ready. Big mistake. I won't be doing that again.

Carrie - did the consultant give any reasons why dd isn't emptying her bladder every time? Ds was defo doing that when he first started potty training, then after a few months he had bladder control and done big wee's less frequently. I'm guessing all children do this, but I don't know the reason why it happens. Is it learnt? Maturity? Something they do consciously or unconsciously?

Meglet · 17/11/2011 21:36

bookmarking.

Becaroooo · 17/11/2011 21:54

iltmimi Got a virus. temp, feel sick, throat feels like swallowing razors, snot etc etc

I am being v v pathetic about it all

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/11/2011 07:08

Sounds crap Bec. When you become a mum there is no such thing as having time off sick is there? I'm not a pill popper, but now (when not bf'ing or pg) when I am ill I take anying that relieves the symptoms, just so I can get through the day feeling half human.

Becaroooo · 18/11/2011 09:02

I am chucking loads of ibuprofen down atm

And using an inhaler

Am going back to bed later too!

Debs75 · 18/11/2011 09:47

Carrie the only thing I can suggest is encouraging her to go often, as soon as she gets up, before you leave the house, before a car journey, before or after meals and always before bed. I remember DD1 having to do the going to the loo twice thing for a while, talk about how her tummy feels before and after she goes and relate that to the feeling for a wee. Never tell her off about it as well, we used to tell DD1 that it didn't matter if she had wet the bed or her pants we just needed to know and we were only cross because she hadn't told us. It is hard as going to the loo should be an easy thing, the more they feel stressed though the worse it is and loads of gentle encouragement is better then punishment. I know you said she doesn't respond to star charts but what if you offered a big treat for so many days dry? We told DD she could go horseriding once a month if she managed 20 nights dry every month. Some months she missed it completely but some times she did really well and after a while she was only wetting the bed 5 days a month. It has costed us in the long room as she goes most weeks and now Robyn wants to go but it helped to have something to aim for.

MRSA hope you are doing well. I paced with Lucy but I think that was only the attempted sweep from the day before.

Bec hope you feel better soon

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 18/11/2011 16:48

Bec get well soon. One thing I 'enjoyed' about working was that if I was ill and C wasn't, i could send her to nursery and take a day off sick to recover properly.

Nothing doing here. Am starting to get peed off. Stomped around garden and played hide and seek/catch with C today but no more pains. Really want this baby to arrive this weekend. Going to have sex tonight and watch a comedy dvd to get me laughing.

Becaroooo · 18/11/2011 16:51

Thanks mrsa Off to see "Breaking Dawn" tonight so that should cheer me up a bit! Smile

Pineapple?
Curry?
Sex?
Bouncing on a birth ball?

I tried em all and none of them bloody worked!!! Grin

Meglet · 18/11/2011 18:11

iltmimi bec I rarely took painkillers / cold relief tablets before I had kids. Now I virtually mainline them all winter Sad. I hate having to use them, I'm an old hippy who would rather eat well and take vits. Might be able to do it when the kids are bigger and can do a bit more for themselves.

Becaroooo · 18/11/2011 18:34

meg yeah...I am a great believer in hot water bottles, soup, garlic etc for coughs/colds BUT since having dc I need the hard stuff to get me through the day Sad

Just chucked down another couple of ibuprofen to see me through the flicks tonight...me dsis rang earlier to check I was still going!!! Erm, yes! Ordered these tickets weeks ago!!! I am going if she has to carry me in!!!!

AND its SCD from Wembley tomorrow!!!!! whoop whoop!!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/11/2011 19:43

Enjoy Twilight Bec. Team Jacob, or Team Edward?

I am v excited about Strictly tomorrow. Too excited really. It is a reflection on my lack of social life Grin

Meglet · 18/11/2011 21:23

I haven't seen any of the Twilight films .

But I do like R Patz or whatever his nickname is.

I've just had a minor panic today as DS has lost weight in the last month, about 1kg, he was weighed at school last month and I weighed him today. He's been looking really skinny and not finished all his meals as often as he used to (ie; from weaning!). He's been playing with his food and says he's not hungry but I've never heard him say that in his life Sad.

I hope it's just because he's not growing at the moment and he's burning off so much more energy at school. Have made an apt with the GP next week just in case his appetite doesn't pick up. Will try and tempt him with lots of food this weekend.

Did anyone else's reception age child get skinny after starting school?

Kagey · 18/11/2011 22:23

Sorry meglet no words of wisdom from me but hopefully someone will be along shortly!

I've only watched one twilight film and just didn't see the fuss Blush must be getting old Sad.

Erin has been a pickle this week with more huge tantrums. We are hoping to move back home in a few weeks and things should settle down again.

Dd2 has an ear infection now and positively hates her anti - b's so I'm having to stick it in her bottle as the spoon and syringe gets batted away and refuses to open her mouth. .

Good luck MrsA, hopefully tonights shenanigans will get baby moving Smile.

Becaroooo · 19/11/2011 09:06

ooohhh, it was great!!! Grin

meg Could be time of year (lots of viruses about) and the pressures of school (tiredness) but a visit to the GP is a good idea. A simple blood test should put your mind at rest x

Meglet · 19/11/2011 09:15

kagey + bec he threw up this morning and he got it all in the sick bowl! I'm guessing the lack of appetite was the stomach bug kicking in, the whole class have had it. Will keep the GP apt for Friday and see how he goes this week.

Becaroooo · 19/11/2011 09:33

Oh, bless him. My 2 havent got that skill yet!!!

Thats probably it then...I had one a couple of years ago and I felt awful and ate very little for a week before I actually threw up (sorry tmi!)

digitalgirl · 19/11/2011 11:22

Hello!

meglet sorry to hear ds is unwell, but full marks for getting it all in the bowl.

bec hope the film took your mind off your illness, sounds like you may have been a little distracted!

kagey does moving back mean you managed to sort the house out?

DS slept through last night! That's the second time in as many weeks! Not getting my hopes up too much, but it is rather exciting. He's been waking later (around 6am) before coming in with us. So hopefully he's finally beginning to feel confident enough to sleep on his own.

We've just had a mid week break at centerparks and all had a fab time. Took ds bowling for the first time - he beat my score! We also hired bikes for the first time (haven't been on one since I was about 10), and ds loved being pulled about on the trailer. Will definitely go again, was so easy to keep him entertained. Just wish I was a little more mobile, hips and pelvis already sore.

Am 19 weeks on Monday and have my anomaly scan on Weds, eek!

Meglet · 19/11/2011 20:08

aah, Centreparcs sounds lovely digi. Did you get to see the forest animals, I've heard they come up close to the chalets.

I had a deprived childhood, my parents wouldn't let us go to centre parcs .

digitalgirl · 19/11/2011 21:08

meglet It was the first time DH and I had ever been (equally deprived childhoods). And yes, the ducks and squirrels come right up to your patio doors every morning. DS absolutely loved it. They also had their Christmas displays out - so we said hello to the singing reindeer and the giant lightup snowman every day!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 20/11/2011 02:12

Still here - on my usual 2am loo call. No, I've no idea why either.

Nothing to report except more painful tightenings yesterday which went away when I moved, boo hiss. Off to zoo tomorrow to try to walk a few miles with DP and C. Am very keen to start labour now - MIL goes on holiday a week on Tues and she's our main source of childcare for C!

Centre Parcs sounds lovely digi I'd love to go but it costs so much I hear. Mine wasn't so much a deprived childhood, more like they hadn't invented the parcs when I was small!
