Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
memphis83 · 01/09/2011 22:16

wss I have been known to say it myself in the throws of wine and rum drinking but not what I want my children to hear as they go into school! the woman who teaches kids that drugs are bad here loves cocaine more than life itself!
viksam L eats Hipp or Ellas at my mums ot when im feeling like I cant be bothered as he wont eat pasta anymore and anything with mince in he wont touch as its the texture he hates!

memphis83 · 01/09/2011 23:12

At a fear of taking over the thread, I have ordered a pushchair, Its an Ora, its like a Luna but it doesnt have the tipping issues ive read about on reviews, it comes with footmuff, parasol and a change bag, and its from £200 down to £90!! I know you all probably dont actually care but after 2 nights of reading reviews and trying to find something cheaper than the maclaren that was £180 for a stroller in JL I feel like ive actually done 'something' (other than shred, ironing, mop the floors....) Grin

Needle · 02/09/2011 09:18

Hi ladies, not vanished again, i've just been waitressing all week and haven't had time. Will try and do cake's survey later. I'm meeting the midwives later for the first time. I'm mortified at the prospect of them seeing this pit- it's not been touched for over a week!

Good on you TSC for cracking on with the sleep training, good luck!

Morning,
Advice please, D has been out of sorts a little since yesterday lunch time, he didnt eat anything at lunch and didnt eat muct tea and only had 3oz from his 7oz bedtime bottle. He woke twice in the night and had a nappy, which is most unusual for him, his nappies have been loose for a few days now. He had al his bottle this morning and half a weetabix with yog and milk for brekki. Just putting him up for his nap and he was almighty sick, in a BIG way. It stank and was like cottage cheese, nasty! hes asleep now but what i want to know going forward is what to feed him and what to give him to drink. He usually only has water in the day no juice or anything. Id planned something with eggs for lunch, is that a bad idea? Shit man im so crap, its a good job hes not a sicky kid! I had been putting it all down to teething as one has just popped over the weekend and two more are bulging, can teething make then sick?
It reaks of poo and sick in the house, i have all the doors and windown open!!!
tsc great going for the first night, hope the work is going well, a baby show, thats lethal isnt it, will u spend all ur pay?
memp glad u got ur pushchair, L sounds full of beans and lovely.
Must go and put a load of vile sicky washing on, im knackered now after showering it all off in the bath, luckily most of it went on a rug we have in D's room which also got the shower treatment! I could do with a kip myself!

viksam L is sick with his teeth it smells almost like pure stomach acid, he had 6 full nappies yesterday, one was so big it seeped out the nappy onto mums lap as he did it, and now he has awful nappy rash as its so acidy, mums house stank of sour poo (nice) If he isnt eating or drinking much is he more likely to drink milk, L will drink milk all day if I let him. L only ate lunch yesterday and only a yoghurt at tea time and 4 oz of milk at bed, he also has had no breakfast, refused everything so sent him up to bed at 10 with a bottle. I hate teeth!
I have cleaned our room, done 2 loads of washing, pegged it out, ironed and taken all the plants out of the hanging baskets in prep for winter baskets, cleaned sofas, mopped- I dont think I have ever done so much in a morning Still got to clean bathroom and then hoping a bankcard of some sort arrives today so we can get food in the house.Ive ran out of cereal and bread so HAD to have an Aero for breakfast!

viksam · 02/09/2011 17:51

Oh man how quiet is it. Thanks guys, i really didnt realize teeth could make them vomit. Hes had about 8 nappies now and 3 of them have leaked. He had three plain crackers and some fruit puree for lunch and has just had some beans and mash and more fruit puree, im avoiding dairy as much as possible although i will give him milk later. Maybe it is teeth, who knows. He is very clingy at the moment too i cant cuddle the dog/daddy/ use the comp very successfully.
mylife what was up with W? Thats a long time to be up im not suprised ur done in!
memphis L sounds exactly like D, nice for ur mom to have been pooped on! it stinks doesnt it!

memphis83 · 02/09/2011 18:39

viksam they do sound the same with how they struggle with their teeth it really effects his nappies, today has beed hard tiny amounts that stink the house out! Had to take L for a mammmouth walk in his new pushchair as he climbed in it while I was putting it together and screamed when ever I tried to take him out! Will put it in the car when hes gone bed!

I'm still around and survived the festival. Been busy trying to catch up with posts but failing!

viksam hope he's feeling better soon. It's horrid when they're sick. Teething can cause it all.

memph sounds like L likes the pushchair which is gr8. Was Shock to read about dp

needle hope you're not overdoing it

mlic hope you have a better night

tsc that's great. Hope tonight goes as well

Came to admit while away that pnd is worse than ever so made a gp appointment when I got back. Typically can't see my gp for 2 wks when my resolve will have crumbled. Dh has offered to go with me too.

L had date for his gromits in 26th. Quite pleased that it messes work up as I won't be able to work that week and I had had annual leave refused to help with Evelyn settling at school. Guess they can't refuse me it now (i hope)

melissa I hope the gp can give you something for it even if its just advice its nice to get it all out.

Do any of you know how to deal with ingrown hairs? I have one at the top of my pubes, probably from where I get them waxed. The lady who does it said I had one forming when I last went and said to exfoliate so Ive been doing that religiously but its got worse if anything and is now a sore red lump with a tiny black dot in the middle Confused

mylife i wonder why hes like that? must remember 'its only a phase!'
melissa sorry to hear about how you are feeling, thats shocking that ur doc cant get u in sooner.
D went down ok after only about 2oz of milk but i didnt push the point, have so far resisted calpol but if he wakes i may dose him up.

viksam · 02/09/2011 20:35

dh have u tweezerd it? as mylife said god knows what ur supposed to do though, id defo have a dig at it though!

Needle · 02/09/2011 20:50

Age? Closest to 13m, 13.5m or 14m?
13.5m

Walking?
Running mostly.

Talking?
Incessantly, but not necessarily making any sense, she has dada, dog, cake, duck, ooops, uh oh and, worryingly, sex. Harry spent ages teaching her that one.

Says please and thank you (or words to that effect)?
Occasionally, but only if you catch her off guard

Naps - when/how many?
1 at about 10 am, for 1.5- 2.5 hours.

Eating with a fork and/or spoon?
If you load them up for her she can manage beautifully, she's only just starting to scoop her own food and most of it ends up on the floor.

Responds to simple commands or questions such as 'give me that please' or 'where's your head?'
she can do "where is/are your/the: hands, feet, head, nose, bottom, shoes, baby (either in my belly or her baby doll) fan (ceiling fan) light, giraffe"
-"Love mummy/ daddy/ baby/ grandma/ giraffe/ bear" when she gives you a big cuddle and goes "aaaaaah!"
-Up and down (as in, standing up and sitting down)
-Give it to mummy
-Put it down please
-Clap, twinkle twinkle, bubble bubble (wobbly lips) all done (dusting hands together)
There are probably some others, but I can't be bothered to list them all.

Copying others?
Yes

Points at objects?
All the time.

Waves goodbye?
Most of the time, if prompted

Participates with nursery rhymes and songs?
Twinkle twinkle and row row row your boat in particular

Plays social games such as pat-a-cake, peek-a-boo?
Yes, peekaboo is her favourite in the bath.

Babbles 2 or 3 words repeatedly?
"dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog". All the time.

Cooperates with dressing?
Yes, she puts her arms in sleeves and pulls her tights up. She also lifts her arms when you say "arms up" to get undressed

Milk feeds (number and times)?
2, of about 10oz before she goes to bed and at naptime. sometimes an extra one if we're out for the day.

Meals/snacks (average amounts and types)?
Breakfast at 8, lunch at 12, tea at 4.30. She usually has a mid morning snack. Breakfast is always rice krispies and milk, lunch something simple: omlette, pasta, sandwitch and dinner is usually a little of what we're having or something from the freezer baby food stash.

Sleeping through?
(dons protective headgear) Yes. She goes to bed at six and goes through till 6.45 am.

Specialist skills or funny traits?
Her dancing would make Beyonce weep. she literally dances to anything whether its hip hop, classical or an advertising jingle. She drinks loads r water or weak juice- about 6 large beakers a day and is just generally wonderfully cheerful and contented. Don't know what to say really other than, she's a total blessing, and I can't believe how lucky I am.

I'm finally off waitressing duty, thank goodness. meeting withthe midwives went very well today, they seem lovely.

How is everyone's zumba/ shredding going?

Stac are you enjoying your course at college?

Melissa what a blow about the doctor. Why don't you write down now all the things you're feeling and why you want to go and get some help, then if your resolve does falter in two weeks you'll have a first hand reminder of why you made the decision?

DH the only thing you can do is steam the bugger with a hot flannel then give it a gentle squeeze. If the hair doesn't pop out, don't force it though, as that can make it worse. Slightly icky, I know. Still it's nice to know all my years of buying Cosmo in my youth weren't totally wasted!

How is everyone else? TSC how did bedtime go? Cake how re you finding being back at work?

I'm trying to make croissants. I have a feeling it will all end in tears, but for some reason this pregnancy I've been really craving croissants and curry.

Needle · 02/09/2011 20:52

oooh, that was what I forgot- Gwen has 12 teeth now- 8 in the front, and two molars on each side, top and bottom.
