Curls my friends dd has been ebf since birth, she?s now 1 and still bf ? she?s had breathing problems since v early on, hospital days etc. bf doesn?t stop things, it can help reduce / minimise them, but she was bf so that 7 weeks will have done her so much good. And I?m sure if you ask her when she?s bigger she?d have preferred a mum on meds who could play with her properly etc.

rockets that's lovely of you but don't feel like I did much for you, you got much better advice from others I think.

SilverSky · 19/08/2011 18:27

I am losing my mind. My happy go lucky cheeky chap has turned into the whiniest screeching miserable so and so. WHY?

AlpinePony · 19/08/2011 18:46

He's getting you ready for leaping out of the door with glee ready to return to work. ;) they all do it Silv. Bear became a total horror when I was about 8 weeks.

SilverSky · 19/08/2011 18:56

alps it's horrible. Sad

AlpinePony · 19/08/2011 19:14

Oooh goss. I'm on another forum (women only). One of them has run off with the husband of another. (Fires up fb)

SilverSky · 19/08/2011 20:00

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?????? No way Jose!!??

Does she want mine??

rollerbaby · 19/08/2011 20:48

What do you mean women only? Are there any men in here???!!! (apart from my occasional spying husband that is)

Rocket mucho excitement on the house. That sounds great! Good luck. I am a big believer of what is meant for you will be.

I love Friday nights, but not when I have to work all weekend. My time off tomorrow consists of going to the supermarket.

Today my dog ate a cake in a cafe off some tourists table. Our nanny was walking him and he basically took off. I think I may have let the training slip. In other news, Babymoo is now standing and pulling himself up at any given opportunity. It is brilliant to watch. Even better is him trying to figure out sitting down. He has also learnt to shake his head constantly, so its like he's always saying no. Bit like me then.

Curls hope little lady feels better soon. What does the doc say about her chest?

rollerbaby · 19/08/2011 20:55

Fanny also meant to wish you luck. Sorry if I missed this detail - when are you due to start exactly? You will be absolutely fine. Find a good cleaner who does ironing (best money spent ever) and who also tidies up. Don't expect her to know automatcally, literally give her a list of what you expect and when. Set up a weekly online shop and online lists (so you can do it quickly) and make sure you have lots of stuff that's just quick to whack in the oven when you are tired. I always end up buying loads of ingredients but feel too tired to actually cook unsurprisingly!!

Stick washing in before you go to work and take it out when you get home and bribe other half to do this as well. We work quite well in that he does bathtime and then I do the washing, then I take over with dressing/bottle/story whilst he starts dinner. Then I complain I'm pregnant and so tired and he does the dishes. Result!

rocketleaf · 19/08/2011 21:38

Silva, hope you don't find this too stalky but just worked out minisilv will be 42 weeks - checked my wonder weeks book and there's a fussy period that starts around then. Bad news is it might last til 46 weeks. Good news is of course 'this too shall pass' as the ESH mantra goes.

moo i am great believer in that too. It has made me realise that rather than leave it til Sprout really grows out of her room, now would be a great time to move ie: before I go back to work. If we dont get this place at least we would be in a better position should another 'dream' house come up. If not we stay put and nothings lost. I love this house and sods law we have pretty much got it how we want it and have just spent quite a bit getting it there (not least on solid oak flooring I am in luuurve with) , I've lived here twice as long as any other house I've ever lived in, but I think we finally have out grown it. Very excited!

pone wtf? I am confused how they would even have met the husband. Unless they were freinds irl already? Scandalous!

MadameBoo · 19/08/2011 21:43

Moo It's like The Life of Brian in reverse isn't it? (Are there any men in here?) :o Who threw that? etc etc

SilverSky · 20/08/2011 07:41

rocksteady I certainly welcome all stalkers who bring useful information. I even gave him Calpol at lunchtime yesterday as he was so upset. Proper tears and everyfink. I put it down to painful teeth. Typical that this phase occurs when I return to work. He'll probably hate nursery and spend most his time crying til this phase buggers off.

Fingers crossed for new house. I love a new house and always cruise the property pages in our local rag. My eyes tend to fall on those with stables and land. No surprise there!

fanners when do you start work???? Are you looking forward to if? May I say you look positively radiant in your "just sneezed" pics ! Grin I was having a nose as one does.

Tonight HI are going out. Yep. Out. Round to a pals for booze and food. MIL is sitting. I am so hoping MB goes down easily and swiftly tonight.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 20/08/2011 10:19

Aha! You tried to hide but I tracked you down!

Hoping Clint will nap soon so then can properly catch up but in the meantime, anyone know what kind of baby food I can buy in Denmark? Fan of Ella but don't want to take loads if can get similar there. Actually, I do want to take enough, TSF says no. Imagining pickled herring and schnaps favoured jars.

AlpinePony · 20/08/2011 10:37

vagalicious dunno about Denmark, but in Austria we had easy access to hipp organic, although there was an emphasis on 'German' favours if that makes sense. So it might well be that you can easily source herring puree in jars. I'd take a couple as back-ups but toast is a failsafe of course and for bear I wouldn't bother taking anything as generally he wants what mum is eating.

OP posts:
VoilaAnotherGimlet · 20/08/2011 12:39

Thanks ski - I did a quick google and Hipp was the name that came up too. Clint is far happier eating my food, it's true. But I am not happy then. Also, the in-laws have....let's say different opinions about what constitutes nice food. Though they have not invited us to stay - going to a hotel (hooray) as their spare room has no space for a travel cot. It could have a space for a travel cot if they cared to move stuff around. But at least we potentially get to get room service instead. That and breakfast at the hotel and we only have to navigate round in-law tastes one meal a day. Yay! Is it normal for the in-laws not to have seen their only gc since March despite not having anything stopping them coming over except that they can no longer stay with us. Money is not an issue. Also to actually come over to visit TSF's granny, pass through London, but make no plans to see Clint even though I have demonstrated I would be happy to bring him to wherever they were passing through?

Anyhooo.....

Ladies returning to work, thinking of you, I am sure it will work out - I really take my hat off to the working ones here, I still can't imagine doing it. Though I am desperately disorganised to the point of not being able to even answer texts let alone emails or posts from lovely pals. When Clint is napping I am busy, when he is awake I have to constantly wrestle him away from the pc and also feel guilty that I am not giving him full attention. Should I give myself a slap or let you lot do it?

Sliv is MB any less whiny? Clint is very whiny when he doesn't get his own way all of a sudden and it is hard work. WHat he wants to do is walk, walk, walk, and as you know we have a titchy house and there are only so many 100 times we can do circuits of the lounge. Though Clint disagrees and cries when I try to remove my fingers from his vice-like grip...

.....oh poo he is awake and crying. better go. ps we have had night-time crying randomly of late - any ideas? could be teeth but no redness or nappy change, TSF thinks nightmares - too young? back in a mo

SilverSky · 20/08/2011 13:00

Not too young for nightmares. I read it somewhere so it must be a real life FACT.

VAG MB is being so tough at the min I am wondering how I would cope with two? He doesn't seem to know what he wants!!! So there is no appeasing him. I'm Exhausted. Not as knackered as those with non sleeping young uns but I feel tired and weary of it already and I can tell it's ramping up to get worse.

Clint will be fine wrt food. They must have bananas there! Wink

Don't ask me about GP logic. I don't think they have any.

Why the frig has the rain returned? Though it's warm and muggy.

rocketleaf · 20/08/2011 13:13

silva I am convinced the climate here is going tropical, not heat wise but with all the sunshine either side if the summer, April/May and Sept/Oct with a FE style rainy season in july/august. This "sunny in the morning then rainy in the afternoon" that its been doing, very much reminds me of the weather in Thailand at this time of year, but as I said without the heat. :( It seems to have been in this pattern for the last few years and I'm sure it never used to be like this.

VAG as Clint is a month older than minisilv, he could be in the same Wonderweeks fussy phase but coming to the end of it. Has he been like this for a while (3/4 weeks)? One of the 'signs' is nightmares and being more clingy. I am not sure about the wonder weeks really. TB said that he thinks its a bit like horoscopes that when you are given a list of things to look for you see them at the right time. But Sprout does seem to have had off weeks at the times they predict and then starts to practice the developmental milestones they describe. Jury is still out.

MadameBoo · 20/08/2011 15:08

What if your baby is premature though? Do you go from their due date with the wonder weeks thing?

rocketleaf · 20/08/2011 15:38

Yep you are supposed to. Same with physical milestones. But Sprout seems to have fitted in with the weeks from birth even tho she was a little early.

Medee · 20/08/2011 18:08

I reckon EA is in the middle of her due date and birth date for wonder weeks.

FannyPriceless · 20/08/2011 22:00

Thanks so much for all the returning to work advice. Hugely helpful.

honey / silv I start 12 Sept, straight after our return from holiday. It's also two days after Bonnie's birthday. And two weeks before we exchange on the new house. The whole thing is going to be a huge muddle.Confused

vag Nice to see you.Smile Hope Denmark will be good. I think the hotel thing is a good move!

SilverSky · 21/08/2011 19:04

Any vet PESH has popped!! Grin

Anyone got any tips on how to stop sproggo biting me? I don't mean just nips but anywhere!! Gave him a cuddle and he bit me. Climbed up my leg and bit me. Sad

SilverSky · 21/08/2011 19:04

Effing phone!!!! Any vet = anuvver!!!!

Medee · 21/08/2011 19:54

SilverSky · 21/08/2011 20:08

Thanks Meds will read and hopefully stop this little habit. Little bugger laughs after he's done it. Am sure he's purely testing out the new teeth but still.....
