Heeyah.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
rollerbaby · 21/09/2011 16:36

to be honest, I think your little one is still a bit little though... I don't think we moved on to them until he was in his room which must have been some point after 6 weeks or more.

rollerbaby · 21/09/2011 16:37

you need to be careful as they need to be big enough that the bag won't be a suffocation danger. I'd stick to swaddling blankets for now if I were you.

rocketleaf · 21/09/2011 16:54

What moo said about it being a bit early. I think they say wait at least a month and I think we waited til about 6 weeks. I don't have to wash mine that often as Sprout is not a messy baby (yet) so I just do them weekly if they haven't got messed up.

well done on getting dressed occers I dont think I bothered for about a month. (obviously I changed from pjs to nighty etc. I am not THAT scummy)

Muser · 21/09/2011 16:55

We used the Swaddlepod and a cellular blanket until the small one was ridiculously large for the pod. About 3 and half months I think. Then switched to a sleeping bag.

SilverSky · 21/09/2011 20:07

They have to be 10lbs or more in weight I think for GRo bags.

Cosmosis · 22/09/2011 08:56

Well mmr is cancelled. We had a horrible night, he just was so upset and wanted to be cuddled all night, and even then was barely sleeping. He?s basically just a giant ball of snot. So I rang to see if I should take him and they said no so rebooked for 7th Oct.

So, Saturday Eshes, am I still ok to bring snot filled baybee?

Different bags have different weight / age limits I think, but I would expect a baybee as tiny as tickle will prefer swaddling (although artie hated swaddling, but he seems the exception).

CurlyCasper · 22/09/2011 08:59

Mine's snotty anyway, so I don't mind. (But she's much better than she was). Hope he's brighter soon cos.

rocketleaf · 22/09/2011 10:08

Aw, poor Artie! Hope he feels better soon. I don't mind. She's got to get her first cold sometime.

Despite spending hours researching highchairs last night I am still none the wiser. I would quite a like a wooden one and one that folds but we want to start putting her into it before 6 months as we are going to start eating at the dinner table instead of in front of the tv quite soon so that she gets used to the idea of meal times. I hate those plastic molded padded ones and they look like a bugger to clean. I guess something like this would be good with a padded insert. Any recommendations?

Cosmosis · 22/09/2011 10:21

We have this one from mothercare with this insert. Not sure it would be that great before she can sit up properly though.

CurlyCasper · 22/09/2011 10:25

I have this in a different pattern, but to be honest I have to prop her up with a cushion behind her in pretty much every high chair. I have used Ikea Antelop a lot while eating out, it is highly recommended on here, and you can buy an inflatable insert for smaller children.

CurlyCasper · 22/09/2011 10:26

I know you said you hated plastic BTW, but I have yet to use a wooden one I like.

rocketleaf · 22/09/2011 11:18

curls I have heard the Antilop is good, its recommended on the BLW forum too so that is a consideration. But the issue with that is that it doesn't fold. That folding one you have looks pretty neat although would rather explore all options before getting a plassy one. cos the one you have looks pretty similar to the one I am considering so good to know that it might not be any good for her pre 6 months. The fall back might have to be that we use the car seat on a chair or sit her on my lap until she's actually starts eating.

MadameBoo · 22/09/2011 11:23

We kept an Antilop at MIL's house - it doesn't fold up but it's really easy to take the legs off and shove the seat but somewhere, which is what they did as we only used it when we went for Sunday lunch (which was / is quite often 'cos MIL does a mean roast dinner. As well as being a bloody lovely woman :o ).

MadameBoo · 22/09/2011 11:26

I think we put smallboo in the the TrippTrapp at about 4 months ish but he was quite chunky and fit ok. I've got a pic somewhere - will email it to you (he's wearing the boots you made him that match his blankie!).

CurlyCasper · 22/09/2011 11:53

Do you have a Bumbo rocket? I am happy to lend ours - we have the tray too. It's what we used in the early days. Supports her well. That way you could get your wooden one for when she is big enough.

Cosmosis · 22/09/2011 11:56

I have to say my friend has the trip trapp and I love it. We do really like ours though, I would recommend it. we never bother folding it though it just stays out at the table all the time.

Cosmosis · 22/09/2011 11:57

bumbo in the meantime is a good plan.

rocketleaf · 22/09/2011 12:03

Not yet squurly I've tried her out in the one at the centre and she's still a bit too floppy but I've been watching them on ebay for a while, just haven't won one yet. Borrowing yours would be fabulous if Squeaks is too big for it now? You are so kind! Can you put it on a chair to raise the height level? Or would you run the risk of them flinging themselves off?

boo the Trip Trapp just doesn't look comfy but I know smallboo loves it, did you have an insert to begin with? She is 4 months tomorrow and I don't think she is anywhere near sitting up on her own (although she might surprise me) Also did he ever tip it? I know you have him with the wall behind him at the moment, was it always like that? We don't have that option with the configuration of our dining room/kitchen.

CurlyCasper · 22/09/2011 12:13

squeaks never uses it any more, so you'd be welcome. It might be a bit soon, but I can bring it on Sat if you like. They tell you not to put it up high, be we did. They're pretty much stuck in them until they are big enough for proper high chairs, so would do fine. (and don't fret, ours is not baby pink!)

rocketleaf · 22/09/2011 12:19

Fab, you are a star! Bringing a little pressie for Squeaks as a thank you for the nappies so might have to make something else now :o

CurlyCasper · 22/09/2011 12:21

don't be daft - it's all sitting lonely and unused at the moment anyway! And I'll be serving you with an inventory of things I want back when I get diffed again Grin

rocketleaf · 22/09/2011 12:29

No problem on that front of course! (so are you planning on dropping the butterdish soon then? Wink)

CurlyCasper · 22/09/2011 12:43

Fat chance!

MadameBoo · 22/09/2011 13:46

It's comfy with the cushions on it Sprocks, they're padded - obviously now he uses it as a normal chair that ensures he reaches the table so we don't use the cushions any more.

rocketleaf · 22/09/2011 14:10

I am now looking at trip trapps on ebay. And TB says he will 'do the research' when he gets home Wink
