Heeyah.

The best post swimming change I ever had was when the changing table was being used so I did it on the counter in front of the mirrors. My little vain baby spent the whole time staring at herself and barely moved.

The rest of the time nappy changes are hell. I took a video of her "tired out" after bath and massage tonight. I may put it elsewhere.

Muser · 05/09/2011 19:22

Medee I hope you get some more answers soon. It is good news that she doesn't have the developmental delay though.

AlpinePony · 06/09/2011 08:09

okie swimming was fantastic. We were in the water 2.5 hours with a break for bratwurst and chips - yep a proper cafe by the pool, and a smoker's cabin, only in Germany (or Greece). ;) I swam outdoors but with nipples like under water missiles although the water was heated. Bear came down the pirate ship slide with his dad and had a lovely time.

Good luck today Silv and I'm waving pompoms at your libido, I want you back in pesh!

Medee when do they expect to be able to give a definitive answer? More tests or time will tell?

Right, need to get a shift on, bear is in creche and we're off to Germany again for a bit of shopping and pastry for breakfast.

AlpinePony · 06/09/2011 08:11

Added advantage of swimming in germany? No need to remove every single bodily hair.

Someone slap me - I strayed into AIBU last night and am now regretting it.

Good luck today silvio. It won't be That Bad.

Medee · 06/09/2011 09:02

it's a time will tell thing, Alpine. We will get another EEG soon to see if this new drug works, but guess it will just be determined as symptoms come and go. There are so many types of epilepsy, usually defined on the seizure type, and you can have more than one, or develop from one into another, so we'll have to just go with the flow.

Medee · 06/09/2011 09:03

which thread?

Cosmosis · 06/09/2011 10:32

Oh I haz just cuddle 3 week old baybee. I was holding her and marvelling at how you forget how tiny they were and thinking I can?t remember Artie ever being this tiny, so I asked current weight. Turns out I can?t remember Artie ever being that tiny because he wasn?t Grin. Sooooo cute squidgy tinyness.

Well done with the rolling EA!!

Nappy changing deffo involves a toy or some other distraction. And pinning down.

Can?t believe my baybee is one Shock

MadameBoo · 06/09/2011 11:03

I haff stalked your AIBU and I think you speak sense Curls :)

owlbooty · 06/09/2011 11:51

cos I haz a 3 week old baybee and just to remind you how horrendous it is I have had buggerall sleep, been covered in both shit and vomit this morning and am on the sixth feed of the day and thus nips are on the verge of falling off. We are never doing the sechs again. Hth :)
meds am sending big squishes to ea and hope meds make a difference x

owlbooty · 06/09/2011 11:53

also just for the record, I am sporting a fetching tubigrip sling around one of my norks to help with latch. Not sure what the postman made of that but I no longer give a rat's crap about what I look like or whether I am hanging out.

MadameBoo · 06/09/2011 11:57

Oh Booty you hazz made me larf. Smallbaybees allow obe to be so glamourous don;t they? (and feck you, VBeckham).

MadameBoo · 06/09/2011 11:57

Complete sense fail there, apologies.

rollerbaby · 06/09/2011 12:23

Grin Owlbooty. Those rose tinted spectacles need a fair bit of cleaning sometimes!!

Med Not sure what to say, but I hope there is some good news in what you report from the other day.

I'm off for the 12 week scan this arvo. Nervous and excited. Trying not to think about too much. Still feel sick which is fucking me off - this is NOT what happened last time!

CurlyCasper · 06/09/2011 12:52

Good luck for the scan moo. Have you gone public yet?

I'm staying away from that AIBU now - it's full of people who are far too London and SE-centric and fail to see that there is a bigger country out there. And that there are good jobs outside of Law/accounting/medicine etc. Apparently, none of us are any good unless we went to Oxford or Cambridge. Oh, and the best thing we can do for our children is get a job that means we can afford to send them to private school*, because otherwise they are doomed! Hmm

  • and apparently, in many families, it's normal that the man's salary supports them, while the woman's salary goes on school fees. Shock
CurlyCasper · 06/09/2011 12:53

Sorry medee, didn't mean to neglect you. I really hope you find the right drug and get a sound diagnosis soon.

Cosmosis · 06/09/2011 12:54

Thanks for the reality check boots Grin

moo good luck for scanz, let us know asap.

okiecokie · 06/09/2011 13:54

Meds 2 out of 3 can only be encouraging in the circumstances? The development factor seems very encouraging.

Moo good luck with scan. Silv good luck with first day back.

Cos I can't believe your boy is 1 either. It seems only five minutes since we were all there, heavily pregnant and now there is all this talk of turning 1, going back to work - it has gone by soooo quickly.

rollerbaby · 06/09/2011 13:57

Fanks guys. I hope to write that status update later today!

Curly what was the AIBU? Did you not realise that you will have failed as a parent unless you raise an Oxbridge high flier?? Hmm All I can say is that whilst we live in London and mr moo is an oxford grad with a legal career, he fucking hates his career of choice but can't easily step off now (not with my credit cards and mortgage:)) and wishes he had not had such pushy parents. Luckily mine didn't give a shit about grades and were just grateful that I went to any uni at all!!! Daft really as what I know about Economics and social history with french could be written on a medium sized post it note. I seriously worry about the cost of university/threat of student debts for our kids and I'm not sure I would push them into doing anything unless they were 100% for it.

rollerbaby · 06/09/2011 13:59

Cos did you have a small headache today? :) I hope your little one had a super day. the cake looked ace. I need a good recipe...

How many ride on toys is it acceptable to buy your child at age 1?

CurlyCasper · 06/09/2011 14:06

moo I have hidden the thread from myself because it was so infuriating, but the OP was about someone's son only getting Bs at GCSE.

Cosmosis · 06/09/2011 14:09

moo not today, as yesterday was very low key and just the three of us, but I did yesterday morning! Curse my dad for bringing champagne Wink

AlpinePony · 06/09/2011 14:10

curly there are a terrifying number of morons out there, the ones which made me weep are the ones on a chat thread about something like 'what don't most people know?'. They must live in bubbles or never have left their home town. For a bunch of self-professed liberals, extremely narrow-minded. More fool them. Anyway, I think you have a lovely life and squeaker an interesting heritage. She will be able to attend Harvard or run a riding school in the western isles, now that's diversity!

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 06/09/2011 14:10

Didn?t mean to post then, dur.

The recipe was nigella?s sponge from domestic goddess adapted to a choc cake, covered in choc buttericing. It seemed to go down well, there?s not much left! I?m going to flog the no 1 cake tin on ebay if you?re interested?.. Wink

macaroonie · 06/09/2011 14:20

Good luck with scannerage today Moo

Meds What everyone else said - hope you get some clear answers soon and the new drug works for little EA.

Owlie do we lead parallel lives by any chance? (Except for the tube bandagey thing - that, I have not tried - genius)

Boo that made total sense to me
