It is frustrating, even when I bought my new stroller, you can get blue or pink. I got pink just because dd has spent the first 10 months in a navy blue buggy and people assume she is a boy, even the day she was wearing pink tights Hmm

I had dd3 in dungarees with a pink t-shirt, pink socks & a flowery hat & I got boy comments Hmm

Tribble- Shame youll miss it but I know how easy it is to get fully booked!

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/08/2011 21:41

The pink tights day dd was wearing a white t shirt and navy dungaree's so I could kind of see there point Grin

Trib, H&M do some cute little corduroy trousers, and also some khaki type trousers - I haven't put him in any denim at all yet. Really dislike it on little babies. Have found a lovely soft pair of denim jeans in Next that I think I'll get him when he is one though.

I dress DS in neutrals, some blues, greens - and have occasionally been asked what HER name is ... Hmm
Well, I do have a very pretty baby, if I do say so myself! :)

DS likes a spoon - he has hippy bamboo cutlery - I have introduced it from the start of BLW, even though I didn't expect him to use it from the start - I just wanted him to be familiar with it. He uses the spoon really well, for porridge, yoghurt and houmous - I load it up, but he guides it in.
HJ, I am so envious of all your homegrown produce.

HarrietJones · 14/08/2011 21:59

Dd3 uses a spoon but im not allowed Hmm nohun where did you get the bamboo stuff from? Is it like the disposable ones? We currently just have ikea but I loved the disposable bamboo stuff when we had it at Hay.

HarrietJones · 15/08/2011 08:14

Woohoo 8:10 feed! Mainly because she was upset I wouldn't let her chew my foot Hmm

NoHunIntended · 15/08/2011 09:05

HJ, here for the bamboo stuff: www.littleacornstomightyoaks.co.uk/shop/Bambu. We do have the bamboo bowls too, but prefer the metal set we have (easier to wash). So no, not disposable (well, you could throw it away, if you were very rich/careless!).

Well done on the early feed!

TribbleWithoutACause · 15/08/2011 09:07

hj well done!!

HarrietJones · 15/08/2011 09:16

I've only seen bamboo cutlery that was disposable before.

Feeling tired and fed up. DD doesn't want to eat unless its fruit but even then not that much. She is of course waking in the night hungry and its hit and miss as to whether she settles afterwards. I have a lot of work related admin to do that means I have to schlep over to the nearest base because I need access to the IT system and I cannot be bothered but I need to do it so I have somewhere to live at the end of September. Feeling very meh. Oh and goodness knows why but I said I would look after my parents dog and it will be for the next 3 weeks and they've asked me to go to their house to pick plums, green gages, apples and pears that fall so they don't attract wasps. Feels like another thing I don't need. I must have said yes when I had more energy....

busyprocrastinating · 15/08/2011 14:39

Well we have had a rubbish weekend. DH and I argued. I have been ill with tonsilitus and DD has got a chest infection and has been up most of the last two nights. We are supposed to be camping on Thursday so hoping we are both well enough. On the plus side DH has done all the housework.

nohun I expressed because dd wouldn't latch on- it wasn't that the latch wasn't right she just wouldn't try and just screamed Sad

spring your DD's hair sounds gorgeous. I am very jealous as DD just has a bit of fluff and everyone always assumes she is a boy. I don't even bother correcting them anymore.

Tribble I hope that work is better. I would definately mention it to someone. Sorry I can't remember what you do but if it is affecting you then talk to someone they might have some ideas. One of my colleagues was struggling on his return after a very serious illness, as his manager it was obvious to me and I had lots of ideas about how to make his life easier but I wasn't allowed to put anything in place as he was determined that all was fine. Eventually he snapped and stormed out and after some time off he admitted he needed help and then we could put the things in place but it was a shame that it got to that as if he had talked earlier we could have helped.

Ty and HJ I know exactly what you mean about the pink- I hate pink!! Luckily I made such a fuss of it that hardly anyone buys pink things but it is hard to find things that aren't. Next have got some nice things in at the moment that aren't pink.
I have also got a bee in my bonnet about toys at the minute- have started looking for birthday and christmas and hate the fact that all girls things are dolls and kitchens it really annoys me. Though am quite aware that I could end up with a rebel who loves pink princessy dolls Grin

HJ well done on the feed.

Sorry you are feeling down mock I hope it is just one of those days and you bounce back soon.

HarrietJones · 15/08/2011 15:05

It bugs me that ELC does toys in pink or blue. Why can't a castle be orange and a Hoover be green

TribbleWithoutACause · 15/08/2011 15:29

BP Mock I mentioned it to my boss who said I shouldn't have been put in that situation and he also said I should be with someone from now on for the next few weeks whilst I get back into the swing of things. I think I'll see how this week goes.

HJ Who knows, they used to be quite good but alas they have become sheep in the general malay of pinkdom. Your DD sounds a right little character.

I think the out laws have already figured out I'm not a pink person nor would I appreciate any 'pom pom' cardigans that seem to be doing the rounds for any little girl I have. I know that sounds a bit rude, it's not really like that it's more by the fact that DS has always looked like some multi coloured sneeze when he was little.

Also DS has discovered the DVD's, I've had to move him several times this morning. I did put a cushion in front of them, but all he did was move the cushion.

NoHunIntended · 15/08/2011 15:57

LOL @ 'multi-coloured sneeze'! :)

I have found gorgeous toys for DS, I haven't had an colour issues at all. I do most of my shopping online, I don't think I've ever bought anything from ELC. Most of our toys are lurid green or orange, or bright red! But I haven't looked for a castle or vacuum cleaner! If DS wants to vacuum, he can make himself useful and use the real one! Which actually happens to be orange!

HarrietJones · 15/08/2011 16:24

Dd3 loves the Hoover. It lives near her high chair at the moment & if we don't switch the plug off she sits & switches it on & off.'oooooooh'

She went on an impromptu walk with my parents this afternoon. I got called to meet them after 15min. They had the big girls as well so it doesn't bode well. Think it's my dad still though. She might be with my mam tomorrow while dd2 has am appt and on Wed while we do a big job on the allotment
3 weeks today she is with them for the day

HarrietJones · 15/08/2011 16:25

Dd3 currently chomping on breadsticks. I was unsure how shed cope without teeth but they've been gummed to death

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 15/08/2011 16:46

Not really, I hate all this pink! Dd is getting some fairy wings if she wants to dress up girly!! We get as many clothes as possible from Norway as they don't go in for the uniform sugary pink we get over here!

First proper proper day back today-kids at CM and me working (and doing surgery) exhausted, but ok. The kids loved it-CM took them to local petting farm so ds1was raving about it all :) :) such a relief.

Hope you are all enjoying your days :)

TribbleWithoutACause · 15/08/2011 16:51

Nohun I meant to ask, where did you get your toys from?

NoHunIntended · 15/08/2011 17:12

Tribble, I use Amazon a lot. I love it, actually! I browse when I have a spare moment, create various wishlists, can save things to my basket and buy later. And the prices are really competitive. I do shop around still, but nine times out of ten, Amazon is cheaper. I also like their suggestions, they are often quite accurate.

Also TKMaxx is good.

How about we suggest toys to each other, that our DC like?

One of our top top favourites is SCOUT. Have seen it for £15 inc p+p though, price does go up and down a bit!

DS also loves his Jumperoo.

And PUFFY.

SpringFlowers · 15/08/2011 18:50

I am very proud to announce that we have a tooth. Much joy in the SF household and very little inconvenience thus far. Long may it continue!

On a more somber note, one of my lovely ante-natal friends has just miscarried. Some bleeding at ten weeks and a scan today confirmed it. I feel very sad for her having had a mc myself prior to dd3.

Mock, you are brilliant and doing brilliantly. Have a large glass of red, a bath and a early night and you will feel like a new girl in the morning.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 15/08/2011 18:52

I too am an Amazon fan. I do most shopping there too.

One of DD's favourite toys is this tree I got it for £25 from Babies R Us.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 15/08/2011 19:06

BP dd seems already to love dolls but also loves trains and cars. We want to get her her own train set for birthday or christmas so ds cant sulk with her.
Well done SF with the tooth :)
Mock I was looking at that tree the other week Grin
<a class="break-all" href="//iswww.amazon.co.uk/Funtastic-8523-Mookie-Scramble-Yellow/dp/B003BNY8HO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1313431446&sr=8-2" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this what I want for dd. In this colour too. I also love amazon except they tease me with the kindles Grin

NoHunIntended · 15/08/2011 19:20

Welcome to the new tooth, SF.
So sorry to hear about your friend's mc though.

Loving the tree, Mock. Might get it! We don't have a BabiesRUs very close to us, but we're visiting the PILs in a few weeks, and they do.
That Scramble Bug looks cool too, Ty! Hm, tempting .

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 15/08/2011 19:30

1Sorry Spring x-posted; thank you for the sympathy and morale raiser! I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I miscarried at 10 weeks too and it was horrible. Very painful and emotionally wrecking. She is in my thoughts.

Couldn't get the link to work Ty- will google scramble bug. I have a kindle and I love it . So useful when feeding DD as it can be held with one hand. I also have a little light for it so when she's having her bedtime feed I can read in the dark Smile. Also it gets you dead frugal looking for free books!

NoHun I love Puffy! I will be looking to see if it gets cheaper than its current price.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 15/08/2011 19:32

Ooh, just seen this
