Got DD her first pair of shoes today. She loved the experience and I let her choose her shoes and she picked a very nice pair and bypassed the hideous bubblegum pink alternative. Hers are purply red and when the shop assistant asked her to walk up and down in them (holding onto me) all she wanted to do was bend over and examine the new contraptions on her feet Smile.

NoHunIntended · 22/09/2011 22:00

Hello! Back from Scotland. Had a lovely time, nice to be back in my own bed though.

Glad your DD is loving her shoes, Mock. DS is a barefooted hippy - I can't keep shoes on him at all. Loves being naked too! The Wellington Boots are really hard to get on him, hope he makes it easier for me once the real rains come!

HJ, hope your DD is snot-free and pain-free soon. DS has just gotten his fifth tooth, top right, think the top left one is coming in very soon.

DS's new game is hide and seek - he goes and hides, and makes a big show of making us all wonder where he is! Too cute. I love him! :)

HarrietJones · 23/09/2011 08:11

Snot a lot less, doesn't seem that painful just in need of lots of cuddles. She's feeding big time all night though so dh is trying to do a big high calorie tea tonight to see if that helps!

We got her shoes on Saturday but she couldn't move with them on for 2 days. Not rush to use them as we don't do a lot of outside walking yet. Picking up her wellies today as I had to order them.

Started secondary visits for dd2 yesterday. They grow up too fast!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 23/09/2011 10:00

My best friend's sister's waters have just broken 10 days early and the bump hasn't even dropped. No pain yet, just a 'funny feeling'.

A bit of porridge has just flicked through the air over my head and I have no idea where it landed....I will probably find it arc-welded to my hair later....

Late start this morning as DD was up and shouting at midnight.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 23/09/2011 10:26

Mock I dont know if that is exciting or scary. Will the fact that her bump has not yet dropped make it a longer labour? Confused

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 23/09/2011 11:12

I have no idea. my bump had dropped and the labour was 81 hours so who knows!!

MonsterBookOfTysons · 23/09/2011 21:58

Ow 81 hours! Shock
Maybe it will make no difference then. Any news?
I saw a newborn baby in toys r us today, the parents were getting the buggy. Baby must of been no more than 1 or 2 days old. So cute!

Hi all. ( was loobyboo)

Hope all are well in the land of nearly 1yr olds.

My little man is 1 today can't believe where the time has gone, but enjoyed every second of it. Having a close family get together today to celebrate.

He's turning into a right cheeky one, I know I'm going to have my hands full with him, nothing like his sisters they were chilled out babies, but he's always on the go and very inquisitive little chap.

Sat here with hubby thinking back to his birth and getting a little emotional about it.

I'm doing ok currently seeing a counsellor for pnd, which was diagnosed quite early on, but took ages to see some one (nearly 5mths), it's helping which is the main thing.

Signing off now to get some shut eye before the mayhem starts. (daughters are so excited, going to be a early start)

tiredfeet · 25/09/2011 11:02

happy birthday to your little boy monkeymaker, I hope the party goes well today Smile

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 25/09/2011 16:25

My best friend's DD had a little girl 7lb 15 oz. Baby doing fine, mum had a rough time but bfing seems to be going well which is a relief for her. Olivia Grace. Lovely. Smile.

HarrietJones · 25/09/2011 17:30

Nice to see you MM, hope you had a good party!

Whose dc is next? Dd3 is the 7th. Having a party on the Saturday, just started a thread about wanting a cleaner to come and clean pre partyBlush. my mum would usually help with food etc but is moving 2 days before & will be homeless ( well with my grandad) for a few weeks. We need to help her move too! Also I hate cleaning!

Dd3 refused tea tonight.
Orange
Tea first
Orange
Tea then orange
Orange
Tea then orange
Bath.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 26/09/2011 08:19

Happy birthday to your LO floozie! So glad you had a lovely day yesterday

NoHunIntended · 26/09/2011 12:58

Mm, lovely to hear from you! Fill us in a bit more!
Happy Birthday for yesterday to your little one. Hope you had a good weekend.

Floozie, Happy Birthday to your DD too.

Where HAS the time gone!? I can't really believe it!

I have been busy making a Happy Birthday bunting! Get me! :-) Am going to make cake too. Just under two weeks til my DS is one.

Sea, glad to hear about the walking. It's all go go go now!

We had a wedding yesterday, DS was the ultimate in cuteness, in a kilt matching his dad's, and matching black shirts. They looked very smart.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 26/09/2011 16:20

Smile at the matching outfits NoHun!

Happy Birthday to your DD Floozie!

TribbleWithoutACause · 26/09/2011 18:41

Sorry I haven't been around as much.

Work has gone to hell in a handbasket which culminated in me being pulled into bosses office and told they didn't think I was well enough to be at work. I'm not going to go into it, but to say that I am incensed would be putting it mildly. It's been so stressful, they kept moving the goal posts of what they expected of me and then wondered why I got stressed about it. Angry

Dh and I have discussed it, I'm going to play the game for a bit and if it doesn't get better I'm going to officially complain and possibly hand in my notice. Nothing is worth this amount of stress.

I have spoken to people about it, and I know I'm not being unreasonable or silly to have been as stressed as I have been about it.

Anyway, HJ Gosh I know what you mean about cleaning. We've just moved and our flat needed a good clean as well. If I had the money, I would employ somebody to do my cleaning for me.

NoHun How was Scotland?

Oh my friends just had a baby, she's so adorable. I went and saw her and held her as well for a bit. She's the same size DS was when he was born. She was lovely, but in my head as I was holding her all I could think was 'well this is a bit boring'. DS however spent the time trying to destroy my friends brand new flat screen. To be fair it was on the floor, I doubt it will be there come eight months time. Grin

HarrietJones · 26/09/2011 19:12

Wall tv is brilliant. Also means dd3 doesn't watch it as she can't see from the floor.

(( tribble)) I'm job hunting too. I drive home in tears every time & now waking in the night worried about the mundane bits.

TribbleWithoutACause · 26/09/2011 20:14

HJ I'll see you in Aldi then.

HarrietJones · 26/09/2011 20:25

Grin sounds good

NoHunIntended · 26/09/2011 20:47

Oh you poor things, re the work stress. Trib, HJ, can you get signed off with work-related stress? Both situations sound awful.

Scotland was ace, thanks. Lovely to see family. And spread out - our house is tiny, their's is spacious. Felt liberating. We need to move out of London!

HarrietJones · 26/09/2011 21:40

If I got signed off it would be pretty hard to get me back at all. Just seen the most perfect job for me. F/t but working from home. Only bit of the whole person spec I didn't have was willingness to travel/overnight. Would be a lot of travelling from here as the base is London & it's more than a day job from here :(

If dd3 was older & not bf , maybe. Dh would be able to cut down too as it's a v v good salary for my work. Double my current one & less stressful.

TribbleWithoutACause · 26/09/2011 21:45

Nohun Already done (there goes my sick record), I'm off to the Docs on Wednesday to have a chat with them.

TribbleWithoutACause · 26/09/2011 21:46

I'm seriously thinking of just retraining and doing something else.
