KVG at your Christmas adventure! Glad you are on the mend. Thanks for thinking about me and dd and the bottle feeding . She will still only take a little bit of EBM from her beaker, although gradually taking more water. I am just hoping that when I am not there, and she has no choice, she will just get on with it too .

Cratchit · 30/12/2005 22:43

Gosh I'm rubbish at these epic posts you're all so good at, so will contribute a bit and feel ashamed for all/those I've forgotten.

TeaB - Excited at propsective package - Hooray! Love that Ds was waiting for Santa, my brother and I did if for years and years, trying to keep each other awake. He finally beat me and said he'd seen him one year.. awwww. the memories.

Trib - Goodness car prang sounds awful and annoying.

Mrs CD - Blimey, poor you and babe. has mad me extra careful about the stairs now.

KVG - No Tripp Trapp here, it's got no tray! think I'm going for the East coast folding high chair, (crap at links sorry) Have checked it in John lewis and the tray def folds back so it sits behind the chair if they want to sit at the table, it's much cheaper on Kiddicare tho, as ever. Am 99 per cent sure it's the same as the JL one, but you never know.

Calling all Northerners - Are you still alive given the weather?! Giddy I bet you can't even see your house at the mo.. Talking of which you could report that nurse I reckon, if you had the energy, which i wouldn't. Outrageous, sad old hag that she is.

Troubles - Mine hated shopping, but my god I've persisted because it's me idea of heaven. First supermarket trip I had to get him out of trolly and carry him screaming to feed in the car park LOL. All the shoppers stood and stared. Have now resorted to parking right next to some shops despite meter costs and carrying him in, specially those with stairs and no lift. He seems to hold out better, that's DS not Dh of course. DH still hates it after ten years and I've still not found anything that works. He likes shopping Totenham Court road in London, as he can go to arcoades oppostie whiel I shop!

Ooops wakeful baby. Bye .x

mandymac · 30/12/2005 22:49

Hi Junies - Aloha has a thread going asking about anyone who has tried a sleep consultant and results and I know some of you used someone - I think Welshie used her first. What were her details again? Can anyone give any feedback and her details on Alohas thread. Give me a minute and I will try and put a link to it on this thread. Ta!

mandymac · 30/12/2005 22:51

Alohas thread is here

snowfallatxmasmum · 31/12/2005 16:51

Cratchit · 31/12/2005 20:46

And from me too HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hooray for once, I'm not the last one! So the best of everything to all Junies and their gorgeous babes, families and friends. Cannot believe the litte pickles are entering their second year already. The time's just flying by already...

Lua · 31/12/2005 20:59

Happy new year to everybody!

We are back to this cold and grey place called home...,and as you can see,no wild new year ash in the Lua family...However,if DS continues to wake up every 20min I reckon I will see the entrance of the new year with a champagne in one hand and a baby in the boob!
Hope you all have a nice time!

MrsWednesday · 31/12/2005 21:04

Happy New Year Junies!

Blimey, KVG, what a nightmare to happen at any time but particularly at Christmas. Hope you are recovering quickly. Good news that DD is taking a bottle.

Well it's a quiet New Year in the Wednesday household - DH is working (bloody hotel business, he's hardly been at home during the festive period) and both the boys are in bed. So it's just me, a glass of wine (oh the decisions - red, white or sparking? ) and telly.

Hope we all manage to stay up to see in the New Year, and that all our babies sleep in until 9am tomorrow morning.

(Will try and stop myself posting a boozy 'I love you all' message later on...)

MrsWednesday · 31/12/2005 21:04

Good to see you again Lua!

Lua · 31/12/2005 21:18

Hi Mrs W!
What a shame that we don't live any closer! We are also sitting in front of the telly with a glass of champagne!
A cyber cheers to you (and everybody else!)

MrsWednesday · 31/12/2005 21:33

You've helped me make my mind up Lua, I'm cracking open the bubbly, even if I am on my own.

Cheers!

Happy new year KVG!
Don't mention Gu.... it's a sensitive issue...
I sent DH out yesterday to get some to insure a happy new year...
he forgot! Grrrrr.
Now we went to 2 markets today and they all were sold out!
I though I was the only looserstaying home and eating GU!!!
ok, Ok...
Happy New Gu year to you too!
and hope the post-op is going all right! bummer it happened over xtmas. But is definetely an unbeatable way to avoid the inlaws....

tribpot · 31/12/2005 22:01

Happy new year, ladies! Have absolutely no illusions about making it til midnight (and don't care). MrsW, we could have quaffed together if I had realised you were in! You know we can virtually never leave the house, ever, under any circumstances. Gosh I love having a baby and a chronically ill husband, yippee!

Anyway, 2005 has been a major year for all of us Junies and I would just like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you. Of late I have noticed a trend of my friends who have apparently taken to motherhood with complete ease, and frankly it has made me feel like crap. If I didn't know how much we had all been through the wringer with our little ones I would feel 150 times worse at least. Not feeling alone is the greatest gift that Mumsnet has given me this year, and that is entirely down to you lovely people.

HAPPY NEW YEAR xxx

Cratchit · 31/12/2005 22:11

Well said trib!

I'm here too, Dh is ill and snoozing on the sofa and all I've got is weasly french beer, and an apology for KVG - I didn't say a word about your Crimbo horrors - so, so sorry. Do hope you're recovering ok and the staples go well.

Happy New Year!
KVG - Belgian chocs definitely medicinal and good for wound healing!!! Get stuck in . Seriously, hope you feel better.

Well, ds been miserable all day, don't know if he's fluey or teething. He's also refusing to sleep, so despite wanting to be tucked up in bed by 9.30 suspect I may be around for the bells after all. And cat has just brought a mouse in to join the celebrations. Sigh... Maybe your bubbly idea is a good one...

pop

mandymac · 31/12/2005 23:29

Happy New Year Junies - Thanks for the many laughs and the support over the past 6 months. I popped out earlier to see friends who are celebrating locally, and then back at 10pm to feed dd and let DH go out (shift celebrating). So now sat here with Cava, Cashews and Chocolate - Yum. Planning to be tucked up in bed by 12 praying all the fireworks don't wake DD.

See you all in 2006!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bubbaloo · 01/01/2006 00:26

Just to quikie to wish everyone A Very Happy And Healthy New Year. It's been a fantastic year for us all with the arrivals of our little Junies and everyone on here has been such a huge support to one another-lots of love to you all.xxx

Bubbaloo · 01/01/2006 00:28

So much for trying to do "bold".

katzg · 01/01/2006 18:38

Happy New Year Everyone

Its kinda crazy at my house have a very good friend her husband and their two kids staying, which is great my never a quiet moment here!

teabelly · 01/01/2006 20:54

Evening ladies

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Just a quickie to wish everyone all the best for the year to come...am gonna enjoy my last work free day tomorrow...can't believe it's work already on tuesday, ho hum! >

Well done to any that actually managed to see in the new year...I made it to 11.35 at which point I zonked out on the sofa not to resurface into conciousness until past 3 - dh just left me there ...that'll teach me to drink a whole bottle of wine to myself

KVG - sorry to hear about your emergency op - glad you're recovering well and it didn't spoil your Christmas too much.

Cratchit - your very welcome, hope it arrives safely

Mrs W he stayed up til nearly 9 bless him! Bless your ds for the cucumber idea - we went with a piece of stollen as that's what dh fancied he he he!

Highchairs - we had a cube one that separates into a chair and table for ds, which dd has inherited, she loves it, but my friend has a lovely cossatto one that has a great basket for toys etc between the legs that dd likes very much too! I would go to a shop and try your dd/ds out in a few and see what you like the look of and they look comfy in...

Right best go I can hear dd's lost her dummy again, grrrr - catch you all later, x

MrsWednesday · 01/01/2006 21:28

Last work-free day for me as well Tea. Arrgh, will have to find some way of improving my brain power, I don't feel capable enough to go back to work. I'm also nervous about how I will be able to get three people up, dressed, washed and fed by 8.15 in the morning when it usually takes me until 11.

Lua, I hope you managed to enjoy your night, even if you were without GU. I hadn't heard about them until KVG mentioned them and in a way I'm glad I hadn't - they are bloody gorgeous. Had the chocolate orange almond torte thing on Christmas Day and DH found some chocolate souffles on special offer the other day. Yummy.

Highchairs - the only thing I would recommend is not getting one like mine. Too many nooks and crannies that are difficult to clean and takes up loads of room in the kitchen. Actually scrap that, anyone want to buy a second hair Chicco Mamma highchair? Slightly soiled...

DH got home at 10.30 so I did have some company for New Year in the end. We managed to get quite drunk whilst playing cards, and watched the fireworks at midnight (we live on a hill so get to watch a great display over the valley) so we actually had a lovely evening. Were tucked up in bed for 12.30 though!

Hope you all had a lovely New Year, here's to our babies growing bigger, more beautiful and more mobile () every day.

SKYLERtnightholynight · 02/01/2006 11:36

Hello all
Crachit - I think I am one of the last to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Trib - Hear hear to your comments. I guarantee your friends aren't having as easy a time as it seems and please remember what you have had to deal with too, an ill husband and a new job and moving house and a colicky/refluxy baby. I salute you.
2happy - Well impressed with you making curtains too.
SFX - I am with Mrs W on not getting one that is too fancy with so many nook and crannys. We have had an excellent basic RAF one here so need to buy one for dd when we get back. I will see if I can find one like it.
Tea and Mrs W - Good Luck going back to work. I hope it all goes well and works out as you hope
Lua - Welcome back. Sorry you are still suffering with sleep problems, but also a little reassured as dd2 is still up 3-4 times from 7-7... What is GU? Should I hunt it out as soon as I get back to the UK??
KVG - Get well soon. Poor you. You sound remarkably upbeat about it all though, finding all the positives which is great. Yes the fab kitchen shop is the one in Stonegate. I used to go to the posh China bit just to have a look around and would be in there for hours never dreaming of buying anything...although I did get some Crystal from there for my step mums 60th. I miss shopping in York. Have you found the baby/breastfeeding friendly church/cafe thing (St Michaels??) opposite Game and Nat West(??) yet? Grr at your MIL too. My parents just think I am making life hard for myself choosing to delay weaning and b/f etc. Just rise above it as YOU know your child and you must do what YOU are happy with or you may well regret it. You know that anyway.
Well I wanted to stay up for New Years Eve but we were both so tired we decided to go to bed...but dd2 made sure that I saw the new year in by waking up and refusing to go back to sleep for two hours . Most odd. She was quite happy as long as she was being held. We had some sparkly and 'party food' for our tea too.
It is chaos here in the middle of all the packing. Our car goes tomorrow and the rest of the stuff on Wed so I may not be on for a bit. Our phone then gets cut off in the middles of Jan and they are notorious at doing it two days before you expect so if I am not here for a bit that is why and I will be catching up asap when I get to the UK.
Thanks for all the support ladies. The last 12 months (or at least since Feb ish when I joined you) wouldn't have been the same without you all . Here is to FABULOUS 2006's for all of us.
