Thanks for the link BG

DS had an unsettled night but it's probably due to the fact he's sharing his room with my mum, I hope it'll be okay on Saturday night with the clocks change Hmm As my mum is over, DH is going away for the weekend for a break (he's been working non-stop for the last 7 weeks) Shame it's on his motorbike as I would have gave him a big shopping list Grin

What are you going to get to your LO for Christmas? We're thinking Duplo as they'll last a while and also can be brought by the 2 families easily. I also bought him this as he loves soft boiled eggs and marmite (not together thou)

Must go to work now...

BabyGiraffes · 28/10/2011 08:41

dd2 is on form today and her cheekiest self. Just caught her in the bathroom trying to shave her face with dh's razor Shock. Having a 'boring' first child (in the sense that she never touched things she wasn't meant to) has given me a false sense of security I think.

PenguinArmy · 28/10/2011 09:43

DD last night was caught sitting in the bathroom sink brushing her teeth with Daddy's toothbrush Grin

BabyGiraffes · 28/10/2011 12:31

PA Grin I wonder what would happen if our two little monkeys got together... Grin. I just had to stop dd2 from stuffing toys into her nappy bin...

InmaculadaConcepcion · 28/10/2011 14:02

Yes please, BG!

So, for those that missed the FB update, I had a bit of fun yesterday when I drove off after visiting a friend and left the buggy on the pavement Hmm. Luckily the same friend retrieved it and I went back for it later. However, that was the third trip in a day all the way across town, with only one planned - DH had already had me and DD riding to the rescue in the morning when he arrived at Uni to find he'd forgotten his keys (and couldn't lock his bike up among other things). I think I actually spent more time in the car than when DD and I came to visit you, BG - and we didn't even get out of Bristol.

BabyGiraffes · 28/10/2011 20:22

It's official, dd2 is a bit short... I measured her earlier and she's 80cm which means she's on the 9th centile for height and does not appear to have grown more than a cm in the past four months or so. I am not concerned in the slightest but it does explain why she is swamped by clothes dd1 wore at this age. Also means I get the most wonderful cast offs from a very good friend's dd who is only a few months older but quite tall for her age Grin

StoneBaby · 28/10/2011 21:19

BG speaking of height made me realised that I haven't measured DS for quite a few months too. That'll my mission tomorrow

BabyGiraffes · 28/10/2011 21:36

Should have added she is 12kg which is 75th centile for weight or in other words, nice and cuddly Grin

InmaculadaConcepcion · 28/10/2011 22:12

Blimey, my DD must be something like 5th centile for height, in that case...!

PenguinArmy · 28/10/2011 22:14

I wish I could join in but we have neither a tape measure nor scales. I'll see if I can use the nurse stuff when she gets her jabs next week.

BabyGiraffes · 28/10/2011 22:19

PA haven't got a tape measure either... just put a mark on the wallpaper (old house, who cares Grin) and used a short ruler to add up her height Grin

PenguinArmy · 28/10/2011 22:44

I'm not even sure we have a ruler Grin

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 29/10/2011 11:35

BG short toddler is good! we are running out of place to put anything safely away (actually nothing is safe as she moves her steps or a chairs to reach out...).
DD2 can help herself of food from the counter top when I am busy cooking (where is that 3rd hand when you need it! Grin)
She is 92 cm which is 99.6%, but I guess she will stabilised next year like DD1 did. There are not oblige to follow those curves neatly, there are growth spurts and fast growing years which are completely erased due to the mass effect (e.g. there is no bump for puberty). So it doesn't mean that any of our children will stay small or became giants (well I hope not, I am not keen on having 6'3" daughters unless they are very successful basketball players Grin)

BBB thanks for the candles, happy diwali. Any left overs? [missing indian food emoticon]

I've put some pics up, links on my fb

StoneBaby · 29/10/2011 19:45

PA great pictures of your 2.

You can borrow tape measure, scale from my house (I also got a ruler somewhere) Grin

bethylou · 29/10/2011 21:41

Lovely pics PA and like the box one too SB. I can't see the boo one at the mo Mous (I think, unless I too am too old for remembering who's who!!)

BG Had a rough go at measuring DS2 today by coincidence (as hadn't been on here) and he's about 90cm but looks about 2.5 years. I got asked twice this week when both boys were in the buggy whether they were twins!

BBB Home made lime juice? Yes please!!

IC what a disaster with the buggy etc.. but what a nice city to drive round in circles Grin!

The night with DS2 in the bed was a disaster (hence not getting as far as the pics, which are still on the camera). DS1 was as awkward in the evenings as DS2 was (and he finally went off at 9:45 p.m after probably 50-70 rapid returns). However, DS1 then slept through each night once asleep. DS2 woke at 4a.m. and got out of bed. This set his alarm off, of course, and he refused to resettle, despite my hour's attempts. I didn't want to leave him with no alarm, but couldn't leave him in there with it on, as it went off every time he wasn't in bed. In the end, I took him into our bed in the dark for 15 minutes while DH reluctantly (due to the hour) reconstructed the bed into a cot! We are now putting him into a grow bag so that he can't climb out and then putting a duvet over the top to keep him warm. So far, he hasn't climbed out again and seems to sleep better for being warmer. Why I didn't think of this option before losing half a night's sleep, I don't know! Hindsight is a great thing!!

I didn't send DS1 to nursery the following day as he was awake really early due to DS2's noisy protests and I felt it was unfair in his current poorly state to get him to do a whole day at nursery. The blood test itself went okay, after 30 minutes of crying beforehand at home and him then telling me was going to try to be braver Sad. I went and bought him a £10 present after, which isn't like me, but I'm finding this whole gluten situation very hard and am feeling very sorry for him. I've been battling with the hospitals to get them to do the biopsy as soon as possible but we're still looking at probably another 2-6 weeks and I'm just not sure when we should decide to go private. We can't really afford it, but this is unbearable. (Sorry for the Saturday moan).

Anyway, time to speak to DH after a day with our boys being particularly lively. Hope the clocks don't throw all the LOs too much!

StoneBaby · 29/10/2011 22:00

bethy poor you and DS1 Sad hope you get your biopsy quickly or go private and get sorted quicker. Fx.

I measured DS today and he's 85cm.

My mum and I drunk more than halfa bottle of vodka tonight Blush We hadlots of giggles.

Sending sleeping dust your ways to get our LO to sleep tomorrow morning

InmaculadaConcepcion · 29/10/2011 22:08

Up to another 6 weeks bethy!! Hideous. Poor DS1. I hope you can get them to do the biopsy sooner, what a nightmare. It must be torture seeing him so poorly.
I'm glad you resolved the bed issue, but what a palavar! Sympathy for that one too.

Gorgeous pix, PA. Just lovely. Wow.

Veg bhaji? Yum, don't mind if I do, BBB!

We went to a festival today which was a mash up of Hallowe'en, Diwali and Dia de los Muertos. It was in our local park and very pretty. DD thought it was okay, but decided the best bit was being allowed to go on the swings in the dark.

After 7 nights of sleeping through, DD was awake twice last night - a bit too hot the first time, then thirsty the next. Both times she went quiet very quickly after I'd attended, although she was a bit crochety today and overtired by naptime, so I suspect she was tossing and turning for longer. Hopefully she'll be okay tonight. It's funny how DD can't seem to do more than a week of sleeping through before she has a couple of wakeful moments. 8 days is still her PB. Mind you, I'm not complaining too loudly - that's still miles better than before we did the sleep training.

DD's also woken up after 07.00 five mornings out of the last seven, so here's hoping she'll be fine with the clock change. Sod's law she'll decide to do an early one tomorrow......
Good luck to everyone else!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 30/10/2011 08:18

Bethy good luck, it must be hard. I hope you can get an appointment sooner.
I don't have a boo! I use to have a sacacaca and a booboo. Was it BC?

BBB ! Grin

SB Hicks! how is the head?

DD2 decided to get up ridiculously early, so with the time's change, this is insane... it already feels like lunch time Confused

SconesForTea · 30/10/2011 10:05

Morning everyone Another early riser here, DD woke for the 'day' at the new 4.30am Hmm We had her in bed with us for an hour, during which she lay fairly quietly but didn't sleep I don't think (I didn't either), then DH got up with her at 5.30am - ouch. It will be a long day today. I have already been up for three hours (Shock Shock Shock on a Sunday).

bethy poor you with the bed trial! That sounds pretty soul-destroying. So it's back to a cot for the moment then?

And poor DS1, what an utterly terrible situation for you to be in. Could family maybe help out with the private cost? It does sound impossible to go another 6 weeks Sad

SB how is the head? Wink

Lovely pics PA, I was showing them to DH last night saying "that'll be us soon" Smile

DD hasn't been measure height or weight since her one-year visit when she was 11m old, that's quite a while ago now. People comment on her height all the time though so I'm assuiming she's tall!

I have had two utterly dreadful nights sleep this weekend, up every single hour for a wee Hmm My resolution to enjoy the last few days of pregnancy is being sorely tested. Today we're throwing money at the problem Grin and going for lunch at The Curlew, somewhere I've wanted to go for ages, combining it with a visit to Bodiam castle. I hope DD behaves...!

It is my birthday tomorrow so don't come until Tuesday please baby.

StoneBaby · 30/10/2011 13:39

My head is fine thanks, I'm normally pretty good handling alcohol Blush Grin

scones enjoy your lunch. And Happy Birthday for tomorrow if I forgot

DS got up at 6.45 (new time) so no complaints our side. The late rise may be linked to yesterday been a nap-free day (seems to become a pattern for Saturday).

StoneBaby · 30/10/2011 17:32

How is everybody today?

We're entertaining DS in order to get him to bed at the new time... only 30mn to go. We've been to the park today and he enjoyed feeding the ducks - he cried when we run out of bread Hmm

InmaculadaConcepcion · 30/10/2011 18:59

Howdy!

Scones I hope you had a lovely day, yum!
04.30, ouch.... same to you Mous. Ugh.
I hope you both get some decent kip tonight.

We got away with the clock change last night. DD was asleep shortly before 21:00 BST and woke for the day at 07:25 GMT, hoorah! I woke at 05.30 GMT, but I'd had my requisite 7 hours of sleep, so I guess my body clock decided that would do. Obviously, I don't adapt to the change as easily as DD...!

We had lunch with friends at their house today and DD obligingly napped in her buggy while we ate. We then went to a Hallowe'en party held by the Spanish playgroup we go to. It was fun, although DD's still a bit young for the various activities. I'm hoping we don't get trick or treaters tonight - they'll have to have fruit, I didn't think to get any sweets in. Also, I'm thinking about an early bedtime after being awake early (not as early as some, though....)

BabyGiraffes · 30/10/2011 20:01

Hello [waving from the Lake District] Smile. We had a surprisingly painless 4 1/2 hour car journey yesterday with both girls being very very patient travellers.
We are in a tiny very cute cottage we'd not stayed in before and it's possibly better equipped than our own house Blush. dd2 didn't settle in her travel cot until past 9 last night but still woke at 6.15 (new time) today... She's been very chatty today and loved doing a very long walk (for her!). We got quite a few smiles and every time dd2 noticed (ie,. every time, she loves being the centre of attention) she would volunteer 'shoes on!' and show complete strangers her very cute walking boots (size 5) Grin. Needless to say she was out like a light tonight after all the exercise...
