Thumble dryer?

InmaculadaConcepcion · 02/10/2011 13:46

Hey BG, I've got a coffee machine, you know Wink

InmaculadaConcepcion · 02/10/2011 13:47

Are the keys IN the coffee machine?!!

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 18:33

We tried a risky thing earlier and handed dd2 dh's car keys with the intention of watching her like a hawk to see what she might do to them. She was too clever the little minx and grinned and handed them straight back to dh...
Anyway, I have just found my keys!! They were behind her nappy bin. Luckily she didn't manage to stuff them inside Shock which may have been her intention.
Wine all round and thanks for the suggestions - I rediscovered quite a few other things in my search...

StoneBaby · 02/10/2011 20:07

BG Yepee! You well deserve some Wine

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 20:40

Well, I've done one better and just found dh's house keys... In this instance, dd2 was totally innocent and dh was a bit of a mug Grin. More Wine anyone?

Splendid Smile

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 21:44

Meant to add dd2 came out with a very firm 'no nice!' over dinner and left her veggie sausage. Was quite impressed that she put words she knows together to express herself like this (even if it was in English... I want to hold on to my little German speaking baby Sad) Smile

BBB hehehe, we have that, too, and most of the neighbours now randomly put stuff out and on the wrong day Smile

At home today trying to shift a migraine (with vertigo this a.m which meant I obviously couldn't drive for work). DH is away this weekend so I need to be on top form by then. Just very relieved it didn't arrive on Friday morning as it is his annual boys' camping trip and he wouldn't have been very pleased to miss it. Got to go back to the GP next week about the migraines as they are becoming a real pain and regularly getting in the way of family life. As you can see, I am now able to sit up and type, even if it is only my usual ramble!!

Glad you found the keys BG. I would have suggested in the highchair seat (where I found mine one morning, after a 20 min search which meant I was late for work) or in the toy box (where DS2 hid mine successfully for 48 hours). Well done for finding the other keys too. I do love the fact that men are great at losing track of their belongings. However, DH has never forgotten to put a nappy on DS2, like I did on Friday afternoon when I put him down for a 2 hour nap - doh!! DH woke him up while I was at work and searched for a nappy in his sleeping bag, assuming that I couldn't have been that dim!! I can't really complain about doing so miuch washing when I create some like that!!

Anyway, need another lie down now!

Hi everyone, just briefly checking in before getting on with what I should be doing while DD is sleeping (having already hit the biscuits quite hard Blush).

Got back last night after an amazingly delightful, relaxing anniversary break with DH over the weekend - ah, it was so nice. I felt really rested, until I couldn't sleep last night and was still awake at gone 1am Angry Now I just feel as knackered as usual.

PA not long to go now! How are you feeling?

Hello and waves to everyone else.

PenguinArmy · 04/10/2011 13:41

Hi All

Scones I would say I feel tired. DD has been on one nap a day (and me none) the past few days but I can barely keep my eyes open. Once I'm up and about I seem OK though. Hoping to go for a walk around a nature reserve once she gets up. It's been hard as she's clearly tired at normal nap time, but yesterday she broke her sleeping bag and had multiple nappy changes and today she's learnt to wedge her knee into her cot Hmm so I have to keep going in and freeing it (plus had loads of deliverys turn up - which is good as I hadn't planned to be in)

Does anyone know where you can buy muslins that don't look like they're about to fall apart and almost see through? Never had to buy any before, did well with handouts. We are also overflowing with nappies. Got 20 for 150quid most are used but don't look it so I'm very happy. For a while at least I don't need to worry about long they take to dry over here. Also for people who scrape the dirty nappies into the loo, what do you use? We've always used flushable paper liners.

It's our anniversary tomorrow, not sure what to do. Thought I should try and do something romantic as he likes that kind of stuff, but not really feeling it right now. We're a bit disconnected and I've not got round to forcing the conversations. We get on all right and everything, but I don't know how to describe it.

BigBadBear · 04/10/2011 16:25

PA I have some muslins I can post to you if you send me your address (via FB message?). I have never used them, and they will cost pennies to post.

Sorry you are so tired. As for your DD wedging her knee in the cot and breaking her sleeping bag, do you think she is trying to tell you that she is ready for a bed?

scones, beth hope you are feeling better.

PA I bought all my muslins from Boots before DS was born and there's still in very good condition. I never scrapped pokey nappies, just gave them a good shake and most of it should fall off (I can't use liners as it's sore DS's bum). What about a lovely night in? I bet you can find a restaurant/take away/supermarket which can deliver, a good film and a cuddle on the sofa. Sometimes the simplest is the best.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 04/10/2011 20:48

bethy I hope you've fully recovered from your migraine now.

Scones sorry to hear about the lack of sleep wrecking your lovely relaxed state. It sounds like you had a good break, though.

PA blimey, sounds like your DD is seriously protesting about the napping! I seem to remember when she slept on the bed here she fell out (onto some well-placed cushions!!) but I imagine she'd be okay with a bed guard. Eek at the prospect of trying to keep a toddler in bed, though. I hope my DD takes her time when it comes to getting herself out of her cot. I hope you get a chance to catch up on a few Zs, meanwhile.
I second SB's anniversary suggestion - a nice DVD and an edible treat would probably hit the spot. Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit disconnected with your DH, though.

SconesForTea · 05/10/2011 09:06

bethy hopey you're feeling better today.

PA I agree that a lovely meal in - with chocolate heavily involved? - should hit the spot. I personally would add a couple of glasses of champers to the mix too - why not Wink It might help you to relax and get into the mood, and my doctor told me to have a glass of wine a night (advice I took rather liberally on my own anniversary weekend Blush).

Shame that your DD has decided to drop the morning nap right now, just when you need it most Sad DD is very on-and-off with hers, but I'm trying to keep it going as long as possible. I so relish this 45m to myself.

As for pooey nappies - we use fleece liners and are overjoyed when we can shake a poo into the toilet. More usually we have to scrape it off with a knife kept in the bathroom for the purpose. My most hated job of the day. It is when I ask myself why I am doing this Hmm

SconesForTea · 05/10/2011 09:08

Aargh just seen on antenatal thread PA's DH has broken his elbow!! how?

InmaculadaConcepcion · 05/10/2011 13:13

Oh no, PA - what terrible timing, your poor DH. Please pass on our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Another fleece liner user here - we rarely get to shake a nice compact jobby down the toilet, DD eats far too many fibrous things Grin - I just slosh them in the loo to get the worst rinsed off them then finish them off in the sink (it's the sink in a little en suite in DD's room - it never gets used for anything else....)

Bearcrumble · 05/10/2011 13:42

I had my scan this morning. All fine, including the blood test that was low last time. I am so happy - I just keep saying 'thank you' to God/the Universe/whatever. Also the sonographer said 80% sure it was a girl.
