bethy & mous matching your LO that early Grin I'm impressed

I think DS is about 12kg for 80cm ish. I'll weigh and measure him tomorrow just to see if he can match a girl on here Wink

He slept well last night, and today went fine. The nursery was quite relieved that his cut was okay. I've posted a picture of him of FB.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 30/09/2011 20:23

Bc I'm glad to hear from you - I was starting to get worried. It's not surprising you've been mentalling - very natural. I know I would be the same in your position - indeed, with any subsequent pregnancy. Best of luck for the scan and please have a
Also, try and avoid Dr Google....guaranteed to increase paranoia Smile

Good for you for being a conscientious neighbour, bethy. Do you know the circumstances of the breakage?
I'm glad your work will be settling down a bit soon.

Hey, mous - I'm sure your DD2 will soon be getting into her talking. I know a pair of twins who only have one language to sort out and despite being four months older than our LOs, they still have very few words. But as far as I'm aware, they don't have any hearing issues and mentally, their development appears (to the untutored eye) to be perfectly normal, so I think it's just one of those things - some are just a bit slower to get into gear with the speech.

SB glad to hear your DS slept okay after his bump, poor thing. He looks pretty philosophical about it in the FB pic.

BG I remember going through times of "not liking" my own DSis from time to time (18 months younger) but if she ever got upset, I was always first on the scene to try and comfort her and we grew up very close. I guess it's just natural. Tell your DD2 that my DD still talks about her a lot....

...as she does your DD, PA! And you, too (she pronounces your name "durak"!)

DD was in a very giggly, cheery mood today, bless her. It's just delightful when she's like that.

DH and I went to visit a friend with a newborn DS today. Absolutely gorgeous. We were carrying his pram down a couple of steps and the slope in the drive to go outside, when DH - who was holding the pram at the front with one hand - decided to let go for a moment to attend to DD. Although I was at the front, I was only really steadying it with one hand and didn't have much of a grip - and the mother had hung a heavy bag on the handles. Result was the pram tipped up and there was nothing I could do about it. It was a horrible moment. Thankfully, it was a Bugaboo with a fully zipped up bottom half and soft, rounded edges so the baby simply slipped down to the bottom, but stayed safely inside. My heart was going like the clappers, but he was absolutely fine and what's more stayed asleep throughout the whole incident! Luckily, his mum was relaxed about it too. I keep having slight horrors when I recall it, though....

...it reminds me of a time when DD was about 4.5 months and a friend was helping me carry her - asleep in a pram - down a large flight of steps. He was holding the pram in one hand and a pint of beer in the other - when suddenly, the pram tipped sideways. Luckily, I was able to steady it and it was a deep-sided pram, so DD stayed put. I remember being very blase about the incident, but the friend was mortified. DD also stayed asleep throughout.

Well, it's a lovely indian summer day over here.
Only 2pm and we've done so much: Park for some scuttlebug and slide, birthday party (where DS stuffed his face Grin ) then lunch out on a sunny terrace at a pub with DH. Now both DH and DS are having a nap. (I could sleep too but as DS is sleeping in the car, I need ot keep an eye on him).

scones you are more than allowed to eat mini-croissants. They're full of goodness.

Have a good weekend.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 01/10/2011 20:18

Unbelievable temperatures for October!

We spent most of the afternoon in some friends' garden having a leisurely lunch while DD slept in her buggy, then happily mooched about among the fallen apples...

PenguinArmy · 01/10/2011 20:25

did she not try and eat them all?

StoneBaby · 01/10/2011 20:26

I konw, it's a real indian summer. It was 30C this afternoon. DS got to play outside with the watering can in order to cool him down.

We had a not so good night last night which is linked to DS been too hot. So tonight he is wearing a romper (thankfully, I didn't pack them into the attic). He just had a 10mn whinge now. FX it will be the only one.

PenguinArmy · 01/10/2011 20:27

DD has been really hard to put down for nighttime sleep the past few days and unsettled around 8-10 (generally fine rest of the night). At least we're only losing our evenings rather than disturbed sleep.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 01/10/2011 20:41

Ha, no she didn't touch them, PA!
I'm glad to hear you're getting the overnight stretch, even if Torchwood/Dr Who etc. are being interrupted...!

Yes, SB, DD is still in a 2.5 tog sleeping bag as her room gets quite cool overnight, but is only wearing a body (long sleeve) under it. Well, she was fine with that last night. Hopefully she will be tonight as well.
She was a bit hot a few nights back with an extra layer on and woke up calling for us. DH went in and DD said "silla" (seat - the place where we dress her and sit her to have a drink) then "agua" (water) then "cattee" (cardi). Once DH had sat down with her, given her some water and removed her cardigan she said "la cuna" (cot), whereupon DH put her back in and she went straight back to sleep until morning. I love the fact she can now verbalise what she needs!! It takes away a lot of the stressful guess work.

For some reason DD threw a wobbler at breakfast today - we're not sure why, but nothing was right. Eventually she settled down and actually ate something. We got lots of verbalising, but it was so contrary we had no chance of working out what the problem was. Confused Can't win them all..!

BabyGiraffes · 01/10/2011 20:53

IC In my experience toddlers often don't quite know what they want themselves... Smile

When we got back from collecting dd1 from school yesterday, dd2 heard her papa's voice in the living room, rushed in to greet him, then came running out to find me and to tell me there was a man there!! Grin We obviously don't have enough visitors that that stay for weekends since having children...

StoneBaby · 01/10/2011 21:04

BG Grin at DD2

IC DS is in a 0.5 tog sleeping bag and for the last few weeks was a sleeveless vest, a long sleeve and legs sleepsuit and the bag. Tonight, no vest and the romper and the bag... Will see how he is in the morning. It's great your DD can speak so well, as it will cut half the frustration (for you and her).

BabyGiraffes · 01/10/2011 21:06

We went for a three hour walk along the coast today which was quite lovely. dd2 really enjoyed herself and pointed out (about 20 odd times...) that there was quite a bit of water in the sea... She stayed in our bushbaby carrier for most of the time though because I didn't fancy her going head first over the cliffs and also because she would have been quite slow as she rarely walks in a straight line because there is so much to see... She completey refused to have a lunchtime nap and was fine until late afternoon. Dinner was a bit of a disaster because she was so tired and I put her to bed early. She's been asleep since 6, possibly dreaming about waves and rocks Smile

PenguinArmy · 01/10/2011 21:11

dum de dum, dem de dum, dum de dum....

night ladies

StoneBaby · 02/10/2011 07:31

Well, it was a good night.

DS has been on his new trike since 6.45am this morning! A colleague gave it to us as a hand down. He can't reach the pedals yet but still managed to push it.

Off to the beach today. Enjoy the weather

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 10:59

If you were a 20 months old toddler, where would you hide your mummy's car and house keys??

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 02/10/2011 11:07

my bag, the bin, a random drawer, a shoe, near a key hole (random too), underneath or in the bed, toy cars/ride on... or mummy might have lost her mind and put it in the fridge freezer or left them on the door
hope that helps
angeli xxx

StoneBaby · 02/10/2011 11:20

In daddy's slipper, behind the sofa cushion, in the toy box, in the watering can (locatedi n the garden and full of water), under the table/chair/coffee table, on the highest shelf I can reach, in my cot.
Samxx

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 11:37

Right, the search is on Grin (The bin is my fear because it means having to empty it out... Boak)

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 12:00

No luck yet. No to bin (sigh), recycling box, random drawers, toy box, mama's shoes, pushchair, dolls house, cot, in/around/behind/under our bed... The thing is I don't want to be too hard on dd2 in case it was me after all. I am suffering acute caffeine withdrawal after our coffe machine broke on Friday Grin. Mind you, dh's house keys mysteriously went missing a few weeks ago...Confused. Now we are down to one spare and no keys to the back door at all, and only the master key to my car... Hmm. Right, Brew and Biscuit and I'll carry on looking in unlikely places Smile. Thanks for suggestions Smile... [wanders off to check the fridge and freezer...]

InmaculadaConcepcion · 02/10/2011 12:29

Down back of sofa, in the toilet, in a toybox......

InmaculadaConcepcion · 02/10/2011 12:29

Ah, you checked the toy box already...

StoneBaby · 02/10/2011 12:31

In the pot where mummy has just planted the potatoes?

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 12:32

Just checked wash baskets and sock drawer Grin. No luck... Quite a few random drawers to check still Brew

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 12:33

SB Luckily I can exclude the garden because I had no keys to open the back door this morning Grin (which is a shame because it's wonderful outside)

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 02/10/2011 12:46

I had a few lamp torches and objects going into the washing machine?

BabyGiraffes · 02/10/2011 12:51

Mous just checked the washing machine Grin, and dishwasher. No keys Sad
