There are pictures on my FB Dairy and vie just checked and everyone can see them. It's a double sided blanket that you knit in two pieces and then sew together so it took aaaages.

Last night I started a bobble hat with a ribbed brim in DP's team colours ready for rugby season!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/08/2011 08:24

So, it was operation cot last night. It went ok actually. Asleep by 7.30, He then woke at 2.00 (I was back in my own bed half an hour later), then again at 5.30. He fed and fell asleep at 5.30 - for all of 10 minutes! I bought him into our bed then as I couldn't be arsed to settle him again. He didn't fall asleep so dh took him downstairs..

All in all, not bad considering he has been sleeping in his basket and with me. However, now add into the equation ds2 waking up at 3.30 having done a poo (something he hasn't done for years), then when I was having a lie in the total arsehole across the road sat in his van with the engine running and house music pumping for 20 minutes. I will be having words later.

The blanket sounds lovely Cycle. I would love to be able to knit, I was thinking of getting Knitting for Dummies, or some such book. I love making crafty things, but I'm not that good at it Blush. for you craft lovers out there, check out pinterest.com. There are some great ideas there.

Cyclebump · 18/08/2011 09:36

Sounds tiring ILTMIMI Sad

Knitting-wise, I taught myself out of a book called How to Knit by Debbie Bliss. It covers everything from getting started to really complicated stuff. It has diagrams to follow, patterns that get more complicated saw you learn more and even explains commonly used abbreviations. Love it.

It's here

JKSLtd · 18/08/2011 10:15

M slept through, 7ish-7 Grin

Cyclebump · 18/08/2011 11:31

Have just ordered H's cot mattress, he's far too big for the crib and keeps waking himself hitting his arms and getting his legs tangled in the bars.

JoEW · 18/08/2011 12:15

Ah, finally, naptime.

Hello everyone. Having got very used to C only waking up once for a feed between 7pm and 7am we had a night of him waking up almost hourly. No idea what was going on. Fed him about 1am in the end, thinking he must be hungry but he wasn't that fussed. He was shouting more than crying and just seemed to want attention. Hope it was just a one off! I am a complete zombie today and keep finding half finished tasks that I was doing and then got distracted from. .

Frak your holiday sounds amazing. I am dreaming of a time when I can get a massage. I think it's going to be the first thing I do when C starts nursery. Or maybe a pedicure.....

Buck, I didn't use Infant Gav for long but had the same poo issue when I did. My GP said that it's very common but that it gets better as their system gets used to it. Hope things loosen up soon. I have the opposite problem with C, since starting on the Aptamil Pepti we are back to four or five nappies per day. I have had to start bringing a couple of spare outfits with me everywhere we go as they are explosive too. Yum.

All this talk of bunting, knitting and hosting dinner parties is making me feel quite useless. I am reminded again of my burnt carrot. Thank god I'm not you, Frak. I can't imagine what the polite way to say 'her cooking is inedible and her home is filthy' would be. Ironed napkins. Really?

In other news, baby rice went down a storm and I am pretty sure it went in too. Today we are going to try sweet potato, which I have managed to cook without setting fire to anything.

Hope the check up goes well, Caramel. I know what you mean about future food issues. I hope that they really don't remember this time.

We're off to The Lakes on Saturday. Really looking forward to a week with DH, C and the dawg. Just need to get the darned exhaust replaced on the car, that was a lovely surprise yesterday.

Right, I'm off to hang up the washing....

GlaikitFizzog · 18/08/2011 13:24

It's raining, it's pouring
my lovelife is boring me to tears,
after all these years

No sunshine, no moonlight,
no stardust, no sign of romance
we don't stand a chance

I've always dreamed I 'd find the perfect lover
but he turned out to be like every other man
our love, our love

Raining (raining)
pouring (pouring)
there's nothing left for us here
and we won't waste another tear

**

If you've had enough,
don't put up with his stuff,
don't you do it
If you've had your fill,
get the check pay the bill,
you can do it

Tell him to just get out
nothing left to talk about
pack his raincoat show him out
just look him in the eyes and simply shout

**

Enough is enough is enough
I can't go on, I can't go on, no more no
enough is enough is enough
I want him out, I want him out that door now

I've always dreamed to find the perfect lover,
but he turns out to be like every other man
our love (I had no choice from the start)
our love (I've gotta listen to my heart)
our love (tearing us apart)

Enough, is enough, is enough
I can't go on, I can't go on no more no
enough, is enough, is enough
I want him out, I want him out that door now

Goodbye mister, goodbye,
goodbye mister, goodbye sugar

No more tears
no more tears
no more tears
I've had it, you've had it, he's had it, we've had it
enough is enough is enough is enough

is enough is enough is enough is ENOUGH!!! **

GlaikitFizzog · 18/08/2011 13:28

Just felt you needed to experience my morning!!! :o

B is sleeping, but we had a bit of a rough night. he's take to waking at 4 these past few nights. He's been going down earlier, say 7.30, because he is no sleeping through the day. Unfortunatly this means he wants to get up at 4!

Still, thats nothing compared with some of you.

I'm off to dance again!

caramellokoalalover · 18/08/2011 14:31

Buck so pleased that the gaviscon has really helped F and that the boob is back in town. I wish S would show the boobs some more love. She is fine when she's sleepy, so night feeds are ok, but in the day she screams when presented with the booby Sad.

That's a lot of explosive nappies Jo, your house must resemble a laundromat by now.

Am humming along to your tune Fizz.

Another terrible night with S last night. When does the sleep regression end again? About 2 weeks? Anyone less than 2 weeks that can give me hope?

Sassy20 · 18/08/2011 15:44

Caramel our sleep regression appeared to be just a couple of bad nights one week and a couple the following week. L (touch wood, fingers crossed etc) seems to have settled back down again now.

JKSLtd · 18/08/2011 20:43

Sorry folks!

Our sleep regression was only truly awful for 2 nights, a bit rubbish for a few nights, then started improving to 1 feed a night pretty quickly. Have hope :)

DD had 2nd jabs today (we are behind schedule), was out of sorts this afternoon, had some calpol, fingers crossed for tonight.

gingerbubs · 18/08/2011 22:02

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry I kind of stuck my head in the disappeared. I tend to use the mumsnet app but because you can't look back at messages whilst typing I forget what I want to say in response to other posts. I have therefore been mainly lurking but so like hearing how everyone's lo's are getting on (plus all the stories of alpha mums and come dine with me scenarios...). I would also be keen to joing the facebook group if that's ok (am much beter at keeping up to date on there) so will look back to see who to pm!
Buck - we had the same issue with gaviscon, to the extent that i was pushing on her wee legs each time to help her and her poos looked far too adult for my liking. There were tears on both sides! I ended up switching to carobel but hopefully F's will settle soon, and not cause too much problems in the meantime.
Cycle - blanket sounds fab, very jealous of all the domestic goddess skills on display on this thread. I too keep meaning to take up knitting. Will add it to the bottom of my ever increasing to do list...
Chilli - I also have a pacapod (was a gift) and really like it
wrt sleep, we aren't too bad overnight. I only really started a proper bedtime routine with bed at 7pm a few weeks back though still takes an hour on average to get her to stay asleep. But she has gone from 3 feeds between then and 7am to 2 and last night was only 1, which was amazing and am sure a one off. Naps however are a different matter. Couple of days ago she had a 90 minute nap in her cot for first time, and I hoped maybe we had cracked it, but since then she has decided daytime sleep is for losers and has been mega grumpy last 2 days. Was at baby sensory today and wasn't having any of it, I spent half of it walking her around trying to stop her crying. Not helped by the fact when I tried singing to her she just kept wanting to roll over as thats her new skill. Sigh... Hopefully tomorrow will be a happy day!
I can't believe I am watching the celebrity big brother launch night. Shoot me now......
Oh and M is 19 weeks on Saturday

BuckminsterFullerene · 19/08/2011 04:05

the first rule of sleep club is... YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT SLEEP CLUB.

After a lovely run of 1 night feed at 2am, I mentioned it to a friend and now here I am, 2nd feed at 4am, destined no doubt for a 3rd at 5am.

bum bum bum

BuckminsterFullerene · 19/08/2011 04:09

oh, while I'm here. F's nearly back up to the 50th centile line at 7.24kg at 20wks. Woop gaviscon. Lets hope his poo settles down now (not literally now, I'm not doing a change at this time of day, thankyou very much)

gingerbubs · 19/08/2011 04:37

I'm with you Buck... also on 2nd feed, though my run of 1 feed was obviously a 'for one night only' special. So glad the gaviscon is helping, that's great news re weight! Smile

kittycatcat · 19/08/2011 06:24

Great re the wright gain buck

Tired.com. Sam's first night in his cot = sleep;
110-117
137-216
225-335
4-545
Feeding again now. Think he has tummy pains as he is farting and spasming. The gripe water says it should be thrown 14 days after opening?! Have given him calpol in case it's his teeth but he bought most of it back up.

Cyclebump · 19/08/2011 07:21

H was just so unsettled last night.I ended up bringing him to bed and DP decamped to the sofa but he just whinged, cried and demanded boob all night. Am f*ing exhausted!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 19/08/2011 07:41

I did a massive post yesterday evening which isn't here. Weird.

T settled better last night. 9.30 rather than 12.15! One feed at 5.30 and he's still asleep - my right boob is bursting!
I keep waiting for his sleep to regress. We've had the odd bad night but nothing prolonged. Such a contrast to DS1, who was like H sounds cycle - it went on for weeks. You really have my sympathy Sad

Buck that is brilliant news on the weight! Grin

DS1 is potty trained - whoop! He even takes his own nappy off in the mornings to do a wee. Smile
How long do I leave it before I take away the night nappy too? Anyone got any tips?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 19/08/2011 07:57

Operation cot went well for the second night, we just need to work on 5.30am being wake up for the day time. He is asleep by 7.30, so you can't have everything I guess .......

Thanks for the link to the book Cycle, I've put it on my Xmas list.

Hurrah on the potty training Ali! From what I've read, being dry overnight is a different process to when awake. It's more a matter of maturity, as the body starts to release a hormone that stops the body from making urine when you're asleep. I guess when you notice a run of dry nappies in the morning, you'll know he's ready.

sounds like a tough night Cycle. Go to bed with H later and get some kip together.

Off to coffee morning, er this morning! Then ds2 is at his granny's this arvo so I think I'll start putting the wall stickers up in I's nursery then make a start on putting the DVD discs into a disc wallet I have bought - I am sick of the dvd's taking up so much room, so the boxes are going to go up in the loft.

BuckminsterFullerene · 19/08/2011 08:05

kitty, cycle, sounds like you had it worse. At least F went back to sleep pretty well. And it was only 2 wakeups.

Well done on the potty training Ali!

Anyone know what the weather's doing today? I've got laundry-mountain going on here.

kittycatcat · 19/08/2011 08:16

Meant to be nice today and the sun is shining here.
S just slept 7-8 in his sleeping bag in his cot. I so needed that hour.

cycle / buck hope u got sleep in the end.

Starshaped · 19/08/2011 09:04

Another sleepless night here. We had three hours kip in total all night. Do we win the prize?! I am beyond tired. The only place she'd sleep was in my arms and she was so unsettled Sad I fear it's going to be a looong day...

Excellent news on the weight gain Buck and the potty training Ali

Sympathies and stiff drinks to all the other non sleepers last night. At least we're not alone!

kittycatcat · 19/08/2011 09:24

Eugh I think u do star

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 19/08/2011 09:34

Buck - good I think for the weather. I'm just putting the 2nd load out and hoping to get 3 more done today! T had a puke fest yesterday evening and managed to generate a whole load of washing in about 20 minutes. That will teach me to get changed too soon! Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 19/08/2011 09:35

Star, you sound like another one who should go to bed with your lo today and get some kip if you can.

The sun is out here and the second load of washing is on the line already - thanks to I's early alarm call.

Off to coffee morning in a mo then when I get home I'm going to try the rebozo slipknot tie with my woven wrap
