Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

But what if she's been eating M&S ready-meals?

moo I've already decided that Bear is going to be in charge of mummy's toenail polish. As soon as he can hold something for painting in his fingers without trying to eat it obviously.

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 12:40

Um hello I was a BESH once.

I have only just come back to MN on account of, erm, not going back to work.

Altho in fact I am freelancing while junior naps. This is HARD. Of course, being a BESH, I am.

Alpine are you Ponymum? Oh god, it's been too long.

Hope you are all thriving though and yaybees not being dropped on heads too much.

AlpinePony · 19/07/2011 12:45

kimmmmmmmmmy Yes, I am a poneeeee. I am also a PESH again! Grin

Some of the old gang are still around, others have hit the bottle hard. Wink

CurlyCasper · 19/07/2011 13:02

kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!! How the devil are you?

I think there might be some pony confusion... alpine is a horse, but not the Real Pony Mum. That would be just Priceless

I think we need to do some nipple tweaking over in the deli - that cluster lay is well overdue.

Bloody careless behaviour honey Grin

macaroonmum · 19/07/2011 13:14

Just nipped slowly strolled over to say Congrats to Honey

While I'm here would anyone like to tell me what the absolutely need to know things are about having a CS? Transverse baby, ain't budged the whole pregnancy even with moxibustion/spinning babies techniques. Nada. Cs next week

Tips pliz. What do I neeeeeeeed?
Ta.

AlpinePony · 19/07/2011 13:19

curly is right. I have no idea who I am. Blush

CurlyCasper · 19/07/2011 13:20

Pregnancy brain, that is alps. How's Julian2 coming along? Any scans yet?

AlpinePony · 19/07/2011 13:29

Got my first scan next friday. Am finding this pregnancy totally different to the first. I'm not unable to function and I've actually lose weight (!). Still feel vile enough to feel that it's a viable pregnancy Wink - but not spending all day in bed (Sunday excepted). I've also decided to have the NF tests this time which I chose not to do last time - I'm a bit nervous about those, but forewarned is forearmed and all that.

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 13:31

HAAAAAAAAAH! No way, Pony - wow: is that number three then? Good going grrl. I am vay impressed.

Curly HAAAAHHHH again. Heheh - I think I'm in the hit the bottle hard camp. But I don't get the Priceless joke. It sounds ....involved. I have missed too much it seems.

So, right, does MN do an emoticon for gin? Doubles all round.

maca - cs = c-sec? I had one. I source of all c-sec knowledge. (Tho mine was emergency, yummy!) Tips: you'll be OK if it's planned. And even if it isn't, you are well cared for. Also, don't leave the house for at least a week. And certainly don't plan a trip into central London 'cos that's what I do' the day after you get home Blush. Rest.

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 13:33

Pony sos - am back to my old slow typing tricks. Sorry, x-post. Gah that you're not feeling very well... was over xited by your first post. V gd lk with scan and NF tests.

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 13:37

Actually, at the risk of talking to myself here... Is Alpine Julian's mum who likes to ski, or is Alpine the original Ponymum. Right going now.

rocketleaf · 19/07/2011 13:41

Well I turn my back for a minute and honey drops the butter dish news like that!! Huge congrates moo no1 must have broken the seal then?Wink I reckon any size gap has it's pros and cons. At least you will have pone as a comrade in arms.

I have just had the lady in my favourite shop ask me if Sprout is "good like that all the time"? (she was chilling in her pram while I looked at clothes) when I replied "pretty much" she implied no2 would be a devil child. I had to leave before I was very rude. Hmm

Hello Kim you won't know me really as I am a fairly recent ESH but I remember you popping up in the palais a while ago. If you are the actual Kim deal I will have to follow you round with heart shaped eyes as you were my lesbian crush on the BESHtionnaire. Just how hard is the freelancing junior juggling? As I suspect I might need to attempt this at some point in the hopefully distant future.

CurlyCasper · 19/07/2011 13:51

I've just PMd Kim to clear up the confuddlement.

Glad it's not too awful alps. Sure the tests will be just fine. I was in bed for more than 24 hours Sunday into Monday and I'm not even diffed. Just unexplicably exhausted. Can't stop yawning.

sprocket You're going to have to fight ginhag if you want a piece of kim Smile

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 13:53

Rocket of course I am the real deal. It's lovely to be crushed on. OK so it depends on Sprout - but she sounds a lot like junior.
So with a chilled kid, you can do work - he is currently napping, so giving me a good couple of hours of mn (work, ok). BUT that's not to say it's easy. I've had to really work my day out in order to work - whereas in the early days we'd just kinda float about seeing people, doing stuff (ok and endless feeding, exploding nappies, oh god, it's all coming back to me).
So (a) How old is sprout and (b) are you any good at motivating yourself to work? (CRESH questionnaire alert).
So now junior has woken up so I gotta go. LesboLove back.

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 13:55

Argh - and I'm bleedin behind the typing again. Curly HOW do I pick up a PM? Sos, I know I sd know, what with being a world famous rock star and all.
Really tho junior is now revving up a CRESHendo so I ought to GO. I hope the pm will still be there when I come back?

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 13:57

Is ok - I wurked it out (kleva). Oooooookaaay, I see... thanks Curly.

kimdeal · 19/07/2011 13:59

So now to Julian's mum - wow, wow, wwwwwwooow - HAH! I can't believe it! That's fantastic news. I still remember how we were all sitting around waiting for number one and not expecting it... How weird. But how cool. I need to do some serious catching up, eh.

SilverSky · 19/07/2011 14:06

CS advice..... Ermmmmm.......you may feel tingly and itchy and shivery after. Total normal - tell them and you will be given piriton.

Make sure that after the birth they remember to give you painkillers. My numbnuts of a hospital didn't. Not something I wish anyone to go through.

Use your call button for everyfink! Eg : baybee needs changing or you want to be given sproggo to hold. Once you are ok to get about a bit yourself you will won't need their help as much plus you'll have visitors. Don't be alarmed when they tell you they'll be kicking you out two days later.

Don't underestimate the op, it's full on and those that say "oh I drove after a week of my CS" don't listen. They are knobs. Everyone is different.

Good luck and see you here soon!! Grin

SilverSky · 19/07/2011 14:33

Welcome Kim!

Cosmosis · 19/07/2011 15:09

hello kim lovely to see you here!

laurielou · 19/07/2011 15:33

Blimey! Its all going on over here!!

Hiya Kimmy, good to see you back round these ere parts.

Moo that is fantastic news! Many congratulations. Mr Loz & his brother are about 16 months apart. OK, so they wanted to mostly kill each other when growing up, but are really close now. The became closer when they went off to uni, so its only 18 years or so of squabbling Grin

Maccers CS must have - big pants. Not the prettiest of things but pants must come up over your cut. Also second Silvers use of call button. I felt really nervous using it the first time, but once I got over that I'm sure they cursed me Grin. Also agree not to be alarmed if they talk of kicking you out in 2 days. If someone had said that to me before CS I'd have hidden in a dark corner rocking. But the recovery from day of CS to 2 days later was nothing less of miraculous (& I'm a rubbish patient, even my own mother told me yesterday she thought I'd milk it!). And finally, even though I did make a fab & quick recovery, its a big op, so be kind to yourself. In fact, just everything Silver said. She is vay wise. Good luck - I promise you'll be just fine.

CurlyCasper · 19/07/2011 15:34

'ello loz are you sticking around? How's that fine young man of yours? And the baby? Wink

macaroonmum · 19/07/2011 17:03

Cheers everyone. Big pants are packed and will milk the call button and make the nurses despise me. I get 4 days standard after cs over here - I'll prolly be desperate to get out by that time, although the in-laws will be lurking at home so maybe not.

Thanks again!

Medee · 19/07/2011 17:10

Hello Kim!

rocketleaf · 19/07/2011 17:25

Happy to naked mud wrestle fight gin for the attentions of kimmy (double prizes!)

Sprout is on 8 weeks old so difficult to tell how it will turn out but so far she is pretty chilled. Sleeps very well and naps for hours during the day once down. Strangely I have just had the last company I worked for on the phone asking what my plans were wrt work. Unfortunately I think they would want me to be office based which would not be my first choice but I really liked working for them so might have to compromise.

Waves to loz

Sprout have just had her first jabs. She seems ok now but can I expect bedlam later?
