Sounds like you need a pick me up Jam. Gin perhaps?!

I manage to do that lots Beans. I think it is heating the mixture too much.

Vag Very jealous you've seen TMBG!

Back later when on laptop. Byeee

SummerLightning · 25/07/2011 15:40

Aww two tinies asleep must wake up soon though.

Feeling very happy to be feeling well (ish) again!

kayz sorry no good suggestions on the waking DS2. My DS sleeps like the dead, he gets it from his dad. DD light sleeper but we put her in the back bedroom and shut the door!

Had nice weekend with brother and parents visiting, lovely, even though I wasn't that well. Lovely to see DS's little cousin.

kiwi how are DD's feet?

Jolly going to look up that TMBG song now.

LadyThompson · 25/07/2011 18:50

Have not fallen down a deep well, was just so sick last week and been so busy since! House and garden stuff at the weekend after MIL didn't turn up (long story, we were waiting in until lunchtime on Sat) then had to zazz into London today. Just on way back. Hoping to sit down for big fat catch up tomorrow but contingent on whether DP is working or not - get no peace when he's around! Last week's nasty virus all gone bar a couple of spots on throat. Love to all, more manana

EffiePerine · 25/07/2011 19:47

Have a lovely time in France PD :)

Kiwi: can you see a black dot on her foot? She could have stepped on a thorn and lodged a bit in - DS1 managed that at her age. We ran him to a&e and they put a special plaster on to encourage the fragment to be pushed out. Seemed to work.

Jam: if you want to escape to the park/woods/chez nous one day let me know. We can take it in turns to run after the blighters Grin.

Next door is redoing their fence and has got a puppy! Which means the boys are to be found at all times crouching in the hedge watching for signs of life and telling the neighbours (busy digging fence posts) all about the Octonauts and other vital topics.

Potty breakthrough: DS2 has volunteered to sit on it for a wee several times! He may get there yet.

DeidreBarlow · 25/07/2011 20:45

Just a quick one. Had a beautiful few sunny days in Angelsey. Camping is so much more fun in the sun.

SL glad the tummy is on the mend.

Effie we've had some random wees on the Potty and this aft we had a poo. Going for it properly again this weekend...wine on order.

Jam hope the wine is going down well. Sounds like you need it after today!

DeidreBarlow · 25/07/2011 20:48

Oh and I washed my Ipod at 40 degrees (accidentally left in fleece pocket) and it still works. Brilliant. It also now smells of summer meadows Grin

Kayzr · 25/07/2011 22:53

I'm having to take DS1 to the out of hours gp. He's complaining of bad stomach pains. DS2 is kicking off because he isn't going to the gp. Sad

sybilfaulty · 26/07/2011 02:26

How is DS1 now Kayz? Hope OOH GP was helpful.

Am up stressing about new kitchen. Have just emailed builder to tell him a few things I'd like to change. He is going to think I am a nutter, emailing at 2 in the morning. He may well be right.

sybilfaulty · 26/07/2011 02:27

DB, am very impressed by the Ipod! Hilarious! God bless Apple and their waterproof technology.

Kayzr · 26/07/2011 06:48

Last night was a disaster. They told me the OOH gp would be there at half 11. We sat there for 45 minutes and no sign of any GP at all. So still no idea what's wrong.

DeidreBarlow · 26/07/2011 07:36

Oh kayz sounds like a tough night, how is DS1 this morning? Can you get to the GP this today?

Sybs your builder will think you are a nutter but best to email while its all fresh in your mindWink

PD forgot to add last night that I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Kiwi how is DD's foot? Has it swollen up? My friends little boy once got bitten by a spider but it only swelled about 24 hours later and it was only then it he said it hurt and that they could actually see a little bit mark. Very odd. BTW he was fine!

I think I am getting a cold or something I feel the lurgy coming on.

JamInMyWellies · 26/07/2011 07:48

Sorry came on yesterday and had my mini rant and ignored everyone.

SL glad you are feeling a bit better. I reckon it could have been your period. I too hadn't had one for near on 3yrs with the constant pregnancies and BF. My first few were hideous and took a long time to settle down the pains you described were quite similar to mine.

Kayz nice to see you, hope DS2 is a bit better this morning.

Oi Rubes glad you missed my boring ramblings.

PD have a super time in France.

Jolly think I might invest in that they might be giants album sounds great.

Syb how is your work situation?

Arti how is DD1 coping with the pox. Poor things. Your Lattitude pictures looked fab. Think we might try and do Bestival next yr.

Kiwi, how is DDs foot. Wonder if it is a thorn or something maybe a fairly warm bath might draw out the sore bit? A;so hows your bump progressing all ok?

DB camping sounds lovely.

Beans hope you are having a lovely time with your sister.

LAdy glad you are feeling a bit better and getting stuck into your wilderness, love your FB status only you would garden with Chanel lippy on.

Well the Jammy household day yesterday did not get any better. DS2 tantrumed for approx 4 straight hour actually it wasn't approx it was 4 hours with a small 30 min interlude when he fell asleep in the car.We then went to pick up DS1 from a play-date and he fell off the climbing frame and put his tooth right through just below his lip which looks gross but is not a huge cut so cant be stitched or anything so he now looks very sorry for himself. I am starting today afresh and have abandoned them downstairs watching Peter Pan so I can catch up with you all. Grin

Off on our travels again too. Dad has been sent to Abu Dhabi for his work for 10 wks so myself and the boys are going to them in a couple of weeks. Not looking forward to the 7hr flight on my own. But hey a wk in the sunshine beckons so will man up.

We also have now been given our own allotment. So excited we were sharing one with another couple on the village but it didn't really get going mainly because we got fed up doing all the work and the majority of the produce not coming to us. On Sunday we started digging it over. It has been untended for a couple of yrs so is quite a forrest of weeds. Cant wait to start planting there is a couple of blackberry canes on it that are laden down with fruit. It is quite idyllic watching the boys run around in their wellies and getting caked in mud while picking the blackberries and getting that purple stain all over their faces.

Right best get dressed swimming and a thousand errands to run today.

Kayzr · 26/07/2011 08:04

He seems a bit better now. The gp rang at 10 past 1 but we obviously slept through it. I'm going to ring the gp now and ty to get him seen this morning. I am absolutely exhausted this morning. I'm normally in bed asleep by half 10 so to still be awake at midnight has made me shattered.

Asparaguses · 26/07/2011 08:12

Hello Ladies

We are off to Wales today and as it's the land that broadband forgot I thought I'd better catch-up before I left.

Day 2 of my summer holidays and I am loving being at home with the girls. DD1's pox are all crusted and we did manage a little birthday party last Friday even though she looked like the creature from the black lagoon. The poor thing then complained of tooth ache and it turned out her back molar had major decay so yesterday we marked the start of the hols by treating her to her first root canal surgery. I have never felt so mortified in my life. We brush every day, twice a day, and she has never even sipped a fizzy drink and rarely has so much as juice. The dentist said her enamel maynbe weak due to me having taken antibiotics while pregnant... You can never escape the guilt can you?

Anyway, love to you all.

x

Ps LadyT, don't think I can't see you twittering away, step away young lady... I am glad you are better though.

DeidreBarlow · 26/07/2011 08:26

Aspa. hooray for crusty pox! So good to hear that DD1 even got a birthday party after all. Shame about the teeth though, but its just one of those things. No need to feel guilty about it, he only said maybe. Have a lovely time in WalesSmile

I've got an extra half hour to MN tidy the house before I go to the work thanks to the lack of school run. Think I'll have a second coffee before work....

Kayzr · 26/07/2011 10:00

Aspa Have a lovely holiday. Glad the pox is clearing up now.

We've had 2 valuations on the house. One at £126,000 and one at £145,000. How on earth can they be so different?

LadyThompson · 26/07/2011 11:03

Kayz, every property I have ever sold has had wild variances in the valuations. But even if you got 20 valuations, it's still an imprecise science! Good luck though. Work with the estate agent who gives you the best percentage re: seller's fees and/or the one you have the most rapport with.

Aspa, have a great hol. Well, er, "break" in Wales. At PILs? Oh, and shocked about DD2ks tooth. We clean twice a day but I do find it hard to get the brush in and do a really good job. As for Twitter a heavy Twitter day for me is about 3 tweets! And they are only short. Whereas a long catch up on here takes yonks but I do WANT to do it so never fear, I shall be back! DP is off again today though and he is brandishing a big list of tasks. I don't mind though as it's been me driving all this for months, and so if he wants to be the slave driver for a while that's good. But it leaves me a bit short of time on here.

Happy Birthday to Rubes' little DD.

Beans36 · 26/07/2011 12:46

TOO MUCH COFFEEEEEEE! AAAGH! I am leaping around like a mad thing. Feel almost a bit pissed. Have just ironed 3 shirts in about 30 seconds. Ho hum. I don't like feeling like this.

Oh Aspa - poor you. The guilt is horrific. Clearly no one at fault - horrid dentist saying that - how on EARTH are we meant to stop inflicting something on our children. It's heinous. Even in the bloody womb we're already ruining them. Horrid horrid! BUT have a fabby holiday in Wales - whereabouts are you going? We're heading up for 2 weeks in 3 weeks time. Cannot wait!

Had a lovely visit from my sister. Oh she is wonderful. Bought DD1 a Peppa Pig mac, which DD1 is SO excited about! And a letter from her nippers to DD1 with a picture of them printed on it. They are 11 and 9 and Izzy's absolute heroes. She slept with said letter in bed with her last night. V sweet.

Right, must go and do a sudoku while I'm this buzzy. Might take me all of 10 seconds - wooooo!

DeidreBarlow · 26/07/2011 13:25

Wow can't believe its been a year since Rubes DD was born! Thats flown by.

Happy Birthday minirubesSmile.

Beans...put the coffee cup down and back away slowly.

Beans36 · 26/07/2011 14:02

And I put fake tan on my face this morning and it's stinging my eyes. Think I will give it a miss from here on. Off to Asda to buy ballet pumps shortly. Yay!

EffiePerine · 26/07/2011 15:05

Jam: I was eyeing up allotments yesterday. Then reminded myself that my own garden is a wilderness! I think what I really want is my own potting shed with a gas ring and a kettle. The boys would adore it though.

Just had a lovely impromptu playdate with a friend of DS1's - must do it more often. I get ridiculously worried about other mums judging my faulty housekeeping/gardening/parenting, even though I wouldn't dream of doing the same when visiting friends. The boys had a great time and are now worn out Grin.

Asp: sorry you've had a traumatic dentist visit.

EffiePerine · 26/07/2011 15:06

Happy birthday to not-so-baby-now Rubes Smile

DeidreBarlow · 26/07/2011 19:16

jam Your allotment sounds wonderful. However, I am far too lazy to do the garden in my own 'postage-stamp' sized affair.

beans How did you get fake tan in you eyes you loon??Grin

Have to share this...I have just been to do a shop at Aldi, I'm on an economy drive at the mo and someone said it was pretty cheap. I got loads of stuff for not much money. I am quite impressed. It might taste crap, but tbh it all looks quite good. No name brands as such, so still have to go to Tesco for 'Kellogs' as DH won't eat any other cereal Hmm.

Kayzr · 26/07/2011 19:56

Happy Birthday Mini Rubes!!!

Jam, I'd love an allotment. I'm always trying to get one but they are like gold dust here. I think once people get them they hang on to them. A few near our house are completely overgrown and it annoys me a bit.

JamInMyWellies · 26/07/2011 20:16

Same here Kayz you have to wait for someone to die. We put our names down when we moved in nearly 4yrs ago. Everytime someone has popped off in the village we knew we were getting closer.

Happy Birthday Mini Miss Rubes, cant believe a yr has passed.

DB the outer mumsnet are always banging on about shopping at Aldi and the like. I found meal planning and making a shopping list and really sticking to it works. Plus I go to Costco for nappies, cleaning products and the like and have a vv good butchers where I try to bulk buy.

Missing spinning tonight as DH's train was late am not HP. But he came home with some lovely trout for tea so will forgive him.

Trace where are you love everything ok?
