Oh bugger it's bad again. This is the third night I have been up i feel so shit it's not true. There is NO WAY I can look after both dd and ds for any length of time when it's bad - dh had to come home early on Tuesday and fortunately works half day on Wednesday with ds in nursery in morning. Tomorrow dh has booked ds into nursery all day thank god and my bro and my parents coming tomorrow night so dh has Friday off. So I have until Monday to get better or I am shafted. Getting very worried now that there's something really wrong with me, hardly eaten anything for 2 days and no real sign of it getting better

Kayzr · 21/07/2011 07:31

SL sorry for another bad night. Is it worth going to doctors again?

The boys are asleep!! Shock they are never ever asleep past half 6 usually. I am tempted to go and prod them but DP thinks that's a bad idea. But DS1 will have to be up for school soon

spotofcheerfulness · 21/07/2011 07:45

SL I have to echo what everyone else is saying and get an emergency appt with the doc today if only to get the wheels in motion as I suspect they'll want to do some tests. Also, at least if you're doing something it might put your mind at rest, it'll be hard to try and make yourself 'get better' before Monday, that's a lot of stress to put yourself under.

Kayz, I had a smear recently and didn't feel a thing (obv has bucket for a fanny Sad). I think if you've had 2 kids you'll have experienced far more 'discomfort' as they put it. Can't see any reason why not to shower though, I would, it won't affect the cells they scrape off.

Things kicking off big time here re-DP's work, will post more when I have something definitive to say...

TrudyVotion · 21/07/2011 08:10

Aha Vag, all is revealed. My friend's husband works for Shell and they recently moved from Malaysia to Denmark. She's always loved travelling and though British met her also-British husband while they were both living in Holland, which sets the tone for them really.

SL hope you get that tum sorted soon, it sounds very painful but Rubes - getting to the bottom of it?? Really!

spot I haven't picked up what DH does for a living but I hope the problems aren't too awful.

We're all up and about bright and early. DS in nursery today and DD has last day of term. I have loads of work to do today but in a good way, feels like we're in the thick of it. SD was due to come home last night from combined school trip abroad and visit to her mum's, DH was to collect her from school at midnight, but she's nowhere to be seen this morning and DH is in her bed (nightmare sleeper, he's often to be found requisitioning empty beds in the house) so I wonder what happened last night?? I knew the moment I came downstairs that SD wasn't here as she leaves a trail of belongings behind her wherever she goes and I can confidently predict that when she's back she won't unpack, she'll be living out of her suitcase for the entire summer holidays or possibly longer if nothing forces her to actually unpack Hmm

DC are emptying the dishwasher togetherm, aww. M just came to show me "my poons Mummy", little man Smile

SummerLightning · 21/07/2011 08:18

Spot yesterday was second visit to docs and they did blood tests which I'll get results of on fri. So probably no point in going again. After my stress in the night I got back to sleep and I feel a bit better.

SummerLightning · 21/07/2011 08:20

Trudy your SD sounds a bit like me!

Beans36 · 21/07/2011 08:42

SL - is there much in the way of poo, or not really? I wonder if it might be a gynae problem if not. I have had similar and it turned out to be that. Please please go and see a doctor today and get it looked at again. Are you ok?

Kayz - I'd go down the ready done up route, but I'm essentially lazy and lacking in imagination!!! And you can have a shower before a smear test. I wouldn't not as I would be horrified if my foof was niffy!!! Definitely have one asap as I had abnormal cells a few years ago and had to have them burnt off. All well now, but if I hadn't had the smear, then they may have developed into something sinister.

Had another castle poo last night. DD1 really not 100%, although ate well at nursery. Just seems to be at home she doesn't. BUT this morning she's having some toast with "grandpa's honey" on. Which is brilliant. Hurrah! Had another bad night last night, but thank goodness I had a snooze on the sofa yesterday afternoon. Then went for a swim with DD2.

Right, need to do a Tesco online shop.

A bien tot, as they say en France, Vag.

Beans36 · 21/07/2011 09:19

Oh gosh, cross-posted there with various people. Trudy - am fascinated to know what has happened to your SD. Can you update us when you find out?

Meant to be going to meet up with some friends now, but one of their daughters has just had chicken pox and the other one might have it now... I would normally go anyway and risk it as could then get it over with. BUT I have my godson's christening on Sunday and he's only 6 months. If my girls had it and gave it to him, I'd be mortified. It's a small risk, but I think I shouldn't go. What do you all think??

SummerLightning · 21/07/2011 09:22

Well just got my period. So a chance that this is my body going screwy as I have only had one period in about 3.5 years. And my stomach doesn't hurt as much today so fingers crossed just bad period pains now. I actually have a lot of the symptoms of ibs. Beans don't know which way round you mean with the poo? Poos quite small and i feel like doing a bigger one. But I have hardly eaten anything so maybe not surprising.

Beans36 · 21/07/2011 09:25

I mean if there's lots of poo then it might well be a bowel issue, but if not much, then might be gynae.

Period appearance sounds like it might be a factor?

SummerLightning · 21/07/2011 10:52

Oh no I just noticed that you know who from poonami-gate is back and moaning about thread titles again! Unbelievable... Browsing active conversations as feel so rubbish. Fortunately we have escaped her wrath this time. However she is convinced the "adult fiction" topic is only for rude books! 1 second browsing the topic would show you otherwise.

VagolaJahooli · 21/07/2011 11:21

Seriously she's back, does she do it for attention and so what if adult fiction is just to discuss rude books (Vag makes note to self to pop over to that thread).

SL my first couple of periods back after DS2 were really heavy and quite painful. I have always had painful periods on the first day, in fact worse than first stage contractions and.without the G&A, but if I hit them with neurofen at the first sign that they are arriving then I don't get so much pain. At their worst I sweat profusely, have terrible D&V and get quite pale & faint. Many doctors (male) believe period pain doesn't exist and I nearly decked our peads prof when he said as much and PMT.

What's going on Spot, do they need him in NL permanently Grin.

Trudy where is SD? I have up say we often all live out of our suitcase when we come home from trips, that's bad isn't it. If DH goes away for work his little case sits in his office for about a week and just gets dressed there.

I'm so miffed with DHs work. He had to go to Stockholm for these interviews and the reason they have to employ more staff is because they have won a big job up there and need staff desperately to fulfil it. Anyway they wouldn't approve a travel request for a direct flight because a flight VIA Germany in cheaper, so he took the flight early this morning and of course it was delayed and he has missed his connecting flight and has had to give up on going to Stockholm and instead fly back to A'dam to try to the interviews by Tele-presence. So instead of spending a couple of hundred extra euros they have basically paid DH to sit around all morning not get to where he needs to go and have to try to employ someone for s very high paying contract after what is basically a phone interview. When you consider these guys are not native English speakers that's quite tough to expect them to completely communicate their ability for the job and because they are getting desperate to start someone DH may have to employ based on this interview. Seriously it gets me so mad seeing these stupid men doing these jobs so badly, I could run rings around them. NHS management gets criticised a lot but I was way better than some these dickheads!!! (Sorry that was a bit rude).

Anyway they are forking out a small fortune in three weeks to bring him over to Reading for a managers meeting so Rubes when are you going to US?

LadyThompson · 21/07/2011 12:00

Hello gals, been AWOL again. Came to London on Mon which I'd had planned for a while, but felt really ill from Monday morning onwards so have been holed up in flat. Throat still really bad and covered in spots and frightful cough, but feeling better. Also have had friends round to visit (I don't normally as flat is quite small and chaotic) and it's been really nice - lots of picnics on the bed! I would be happy staying here for another few weeks but do need to get back - can put my head in sand about stuff to do no longer. MIL here again this weekend for that game fair...

Rubes, totally cool about that weekend, will be smashing and Aspa, do you mean week commencing 8th or 15th? Former week I may not be free every single day but am sure we can sort something, would be great. Latitude, wow! Pics are great.

SL, so glad you feel a bit better now. Sounded awful!

Oh shaggers, both girls melting down. More later!

JollyBear · 21/07/2011 13:27

On phone so just quickly. I've found that periods can coincide with other digestive or gut troubles. It doesn't mean it is 'just' pp. I thought I was just having a terribly painful period when my. liver went wrong! My GP told me I had indigestion! Obviously I'm not suggesting you have anything like that SL but it would be worth another trip to the docs for a second opinion. My friend had misdiagnosed gall stones and was in agony for days before going back and getting hospitalised. That said pp can be horrendous when severe. Do painkillers do anything?

SummerLightning · 21/07/2011 14:01

Feeling unbelievably loads better! So not going back to docs today. Will ring for test results and see if they find anything up tomorrow. I have been to docs twice and they both felt stomach and found nothing to worry about. Second doc was more reassuring and actually described all the organs she was feeling and said that gallstones unlikely, liver kidneys etc felt normal. Not really sure if painkillers helped but I was taking them anyway! Doc said I could take the dicloflenac(sp) from my cs but only with food but I struggled as I didn't want to eat. vag not surprised you nearly hit that paed guy. Should've kicked him in the nuts and then said you didn't believe getting kicked in the nuts hurt!
lady sorry you've been ill but glad you have had a nice time in London.

Where is jam?

EffiePerine · 21/07/2011 14:23

Glad you're feeling better SL :)

Beans: I wouldn't risk the pox, but am not a believer in exposing children to diseases so they get it over and done with.

Re the Problem Poster, I have to say that I never look at the main site nowadays cos it makes me cross. All this flouncing and returning and getting your knickers in a twist. It's not important! I feel like running through the site shouting 'Shorts don't matter!' but unless you've seen Golden Gordon that would mean nothing Grin.

Vag: sorry you're being mucked about. Idiots.

EffiePerine · 21/07/2011 14:26

On tenterhooks for news, Spot. Any decision yet on moving?

EffiePerine · 21/07/2011 14:28

Sorry Beans that reads as a bit rude! What I meant is that I am a worrier, and don't want to take the risk in case one of the boys gets really ill or develops complications. Otherwise known as paranoia Grin.

Beans36 · 21/07/2011 14:32

Effie - really don't worry. I am not a flouncer. Although clearly was most upset. Ha ha. NOT! Didn't take it in rude way at all.

Lady - are you feeling any better now?

A 16 yr old girl just came round offering to do some cleaning or babysitting or anything for us. I yanked her in and got her to hoover downstairs and then mop the whole floor. Brilliant. All for £6. Worth EVERY PENNY!!!

TrudyVotion · 21/07/2011 16:46

Suitcasegate - living out of a suitcase for a couple of days after you get back is one thing, but she would never unpack at all if she could avoid it! I'm sure it's a sign of a healthy mind or something. SD, in short, went home with a friend after a massive flurry of texting with DH from midnight to 2am which apparently resulted in him not being there at the right time, but which sadly is much more likely to be a standard issue SD arrangement-fudge because at the last minute she wanted to go to her friend's house. I know I sound a cynical and evil stepmother but we have been here a million times before with her and arrangements. DH is quite narked, having stayed up specially, so it means she's coming home on a sightly sour note. She's not back yet. It's all very odd in our house atm with SS going and DD all upset and me counting the days Grin SD has chosen the wrong time to pee off/muck about DH, as she will no doubt discover later on. I just know it will all get thrashed out later, groan, but I won't be here as I'm off to a Pampered Chef do in a castle! Get me - makes up for the bowls club!

Vag grr about stupid pointless penny-pinching, such a false enconomy usually.

SL glad the pain has eased - does sound likely it was your innards grinding into life again. 3.5 years!! I got my period three months after having each of mine, and that was with BF too, harrumph.

Wow Beans - your fairy godmother is 16 and cheap as chips! I'd avoid the poxy ones too as you have a special event coming up. In fact I probably would anyway as I hate the way the household grinds to a halt when DS is ill.

Right, poor DS is at nursery unnecessarily as DD doesn't have violin after school today, so I'm going to get him five mins early.

Rubena · 21/07/2011 16:46

Grin@ RudeyT!
Vag Mon or Tues at latest if at all. Tomorrows flight shagged plus dh swamped with various things.
That's crap re dh's work. Summer love the vid on FB Grin Glad you are feeling better. You too Lady
Beans nice of you to help the 16 y/o. Did she do an ok job? I left Roomba to it when I went out today. Love him.

EffiePerine · 21/07/2011 17:22

Grrrr! MN ate my post about echidna penises!

EffiePerine · 21/07/2011 17:25

Better try again. Vag: thanks for your input on my FB question, I wanted to assure you that I wasn't getting all precious and pushy parent with my talk of summer projects! Truth is, DS1 is bored with our usual routine and I want to add in a few things to stop the ceaseless whining for snacks and DVDs. School is def coming at the right time. Plus I'm looking forward to finding out about some of the strange animals that live upside down, hence the random echidna fact.

Now is this going to post?

ZuleikaJambiere · 21/07/2011 17:34

Hey all, intended to have a lovely time catching up tonight before we go away, but have left all the packing as usual. So, in brief...

Glad you're feeling better Summer and I hope you recover quickly LadyT

Happy hols Vaj, and Rubes if you get there

Hurrah for wobbly steps miniSummer, which has got me thinking that it must be her birthday and miniRubes too v soon. In case I miss their big days, many many happy returns

I will lurk as much as I can as I am desperate to know about Effie's echidna penis!

Hi to everyone else xx

VagolaJahooli · 21/07/2011 17:39

Beans I also concur with Effie, I'm fine with finding out after the event that the kids were in contact with something but I wouldn't do it intentionally as would never forgive myself if they ended up being one of the rare cases that it has an adverse effect. By the same token I don't like people who take their pox kids out in public and offer to bring them near your child as a lady did to me in a cafe in Greenwich when DS1 was just 6 months old. I know they don't realise that there maybe immuno suppressed kids out and about. Luckily both boys have had them though DS2 was only 5 weeks old so don't know if it stuck.
