Happy wedding day dh, hope it's even better than you hoped it would be!! xx

tsc that sounds horrific Sad hope getting out improves your day

hope you have a wonderful break spirael and can stand all the pampering Wink

alb that's a pain re the night out clashing with the party. i assume you can't go to that too?

trudy and mlic i genuinely don't know how you two do it. i personally think there has to be an underlying cause of their behaviour, it just seems so extreme compared to any babies i've known.

is w worse since you've reintroduced dairy?

trudy could you check why the doc said that re not picking up M? i know it's bloody difficult to avoid it but you don;t want to do anything which might result in an early birth.

the director who has the job that i;m interested in at work has emailed to say it'll be advertised in the next two weeks but they make sure i get the opportunity to apply regardless of hols. which sounds positive.

Have just wasted a full hour searching everywhere for my bikinis and sarongs - in the attic, wardrobes etc etc etc. Just opened my suitcase (which has been down here for days) and there they were Angry

now need to check i won't scare children and small animals when i wear them

for those who asked: we're off on hols this sun, back 10 days later on the wed. i'm at the spa on the fri after we get back (the 1st)

i've just booked a facial and pedicure tomorrow morning to get me feeling a bit more groomed and holidayish. won;t be time for a haircut too but i guess having it cut when I get back makes more sense, kk?

right, more packing.....

vik i'm bf but we did try A with a cup a while back with expressed milk in it but haven;t done it for yonks. must try it again soon.

I look like bloody Jordan!! (the one with ridiculous breasts not the country)

i'm going to have to buy new bikinis (after all that bloody time searching for them)

OP posts:
Chulita · 17/06/2011 12:48

Envy at even being able to consider a bikini

Chulita · 17/06/2011 12:52

How quiet is it going to be next week with our two resident gasbags both mlic and cakes on holiday together?!

mlic and trudyla I hope it is something that you can pin down and sort out. You both do really well considering how full-on your two are. Surely children aren't that grumpy all the time?

tsc I'm all for getting out and letting them trash someone's else place for a bit Grin Hope C gets some wind out of her sails and you have a calmer afternoon!

I've just started trying S with one nap, getting him to 12 is hard work but he's sleeping a bit longer (I think although the only reason I started is because he started sleeping a bit later anyway Confused ) What naps are babies on here having? I know we ask that all the time, I was just wondering

memphis83 · 17/06/2011 12:57

have you seen my cakes!?!?!?! im so so proud of myself!!! Grin
chulita any tips on how to not lose half the cake to the case? L has on nap normally around 11 but as he slept so late he still hasnt had one yet!!!!

CakeandRoses · 17/06/2011 13:16

they look great memph, think you've cracked it

chul if it's makes you feel any better, i don't look a patch on my former beach-bod but because i'm v curvy i kinda look better undressed than i do clothed, iyswim? even when i had no fat, i still had hips - now my hips have hips.

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 17/06/2011 13:16

oh and A naps for 2 hours around 11ish

Woodlands · 17/06/2011 13:40

my bikini days are long gone, because of the stretchmarks if nothing else!

that sounds grim Spirael. all my sympathy. I normally do most of the housework while J naps but I had to do it with him awake this morning as I had an estate agent coming to value the flat (still need to persuade DH to move!). It was actually a bit easier now he's crawling as he could largely follow me around (hasn't worked out how to tackle the two steps on the landing yet). He was fascinated by the hoover, I was a bit worried as he kept poking at it, but no harm done. I haven't managed to do the bottom of the stairs by the front door as I didn't want to leave him alone at the top peering through the stairgate bars, but everything else is clean and tidy ahead of the weekend, and J has just gone off to sleep.

Mlic I'm inclined to agree (though am always a bit cautious saying stuff on here because I'm sure loads of people know who I am IRL). She has done things a bit differently to how I would have done. However one thing I have learnt about parenthood is that all babies are different, and I don't know how I would react to a different type of baby, so I'm not going to judge others' parenting choices (unless obviously neglectful or dangerous). Well, OK, I probably am as it's fun! but i accept they know best for their babies.

dh Hope you are having a lovely, lovely (sunny) day!

viksam Hope you are having a good day too.

Preggos I had heavy lifting training at work when I was just pregnant so listened very carefully... but also nonchalantly! Don't know about placentas (they didn't go into that in the training!) but the main risk usually is damage to your ligaments because your hormones make everything looser ready for the birth. So the dangerous moves are things like lifting and twisting at the same time. Have your feet together-ish pointing the way your body is and don't overreach with a heavy load. Bend with youir knees not your back, all that stuff will make it safer.

Dylthan If you don't want to stop, what tsc said plus you might need to express a bit. I find hand expressing easiest and you don't need to do all the steralising etc at their age. Good luck with it either way.

MLIC and Woodlands I have to disagree tbh. I have one of those babies, although he doesn't bf quite as often as that but if I didn't bf him he would starve. He just doesn't get food is for eating yet, licking, tasting, throwing yes but not swallowing. Course I'm encouraging him but some of them just take longer, same as walking etc. IMVHO Grin.

MLIC and Trud Sorry to hear you are being tested. Ds can also be a pain in the arse very intense.

Albrecht · 17/06/2011 14:34

Naps in theory around 2 hours at 12ish or 1ish. But we haven't quite got it together yet, early days of nap regime change here.

tsc Bless her for "I are nice mummy", Ricki Lake guest woman sounds a dear.

tsc poor Clara, I wouldnt have been able to walk away, I would have probably have asked if she wanted to take it outside Grin

L hasnt been eating right for weeks, well for me he hasnt, he eats breakfast fine then will not eat anything for lunch even when I dont give him any milk, then its got to tea time and he wont eat again, nothing, not even a mouthful, but for dh or my mum he eats fine, dh is awau from the 25th for 6 days, he will starve in that time without him here to feed him, any advice? was thinking of last resort HV he hasnt really grown in nearly 3 months, he was in 12 month clothes at 8 months and he is still in them now.

memphis S is exactly the same except he doesn't eat for DH or anyone. He'll have his breakfast, throw everything at lunch on the floor and eat maybe 5/6 spoonfuls at tea. He's still in 6-9 month clothes and they're baggy on him. Sometimes I feed him in front of L's cartoons [bad mummy emoticon] because he's so busy watching that he doesn't notice he's eating.

tsc Shock what a cow! and poor C trying to insist she's nice, I hate that sort of thing, same thing happened recently to L if you remember me ranting about it a couple of threads ago.

mlic I'm semi-with you on demand feeding/solids tbh but don't tell anyone.

I've finished the two hot air balloons and the birds on a wire, now I'm trying to work out how to do clouds - any ideas? I'll post a pic of what I've done on facebook so you can see the 'style' I'm doing but if you look you have to suggest something, that's the rule.

I wonder how the day went for dh ?

tsc what a bitch! Poor c . I don't understand parents that feel a need to involve themselves in their dc's squabbles. I can't believe your insurance isn't going to pay for your wall it makes you wonder why we bother paying insurance when they always find a way of getting out of paying up when we need them. And thanks for the advice Bethan wouldn't feed this morning but she fed twice this evening after I got in from work so hopefully we've turned a corner she seems to be feeling better today she's not as grizzly. Still no sign of any teeth though.

chulita your hot air balloons are lovely. I would suggest cotton wool for clouds but then I do spend my day making things out of lollypop sticks and glitter with Dylan so I am probably not the best person to ask. :o

WhatSheSaid · 17/06/2011 22:17

G is the opposite (of the non-food eaters), she eats all day long, sometimes an hour after eating she is starving again and I have to get her a snack. It's prob because she won't really drink milk, she has a few sips from a cup but won't have a bottle - so she's getting no nutrition milk-wise (or very little) so is making up for it with solids.

I worry more about her getting enough fluids, I leave sippy cups of water all over the place to offer her wherever we are. She won't take a bottle at all though she quite likes to chew on the teat.

We put her downstairs in her own room for the first time last night (our bedroom is upstairs and she was in a little room that leads off ours). She slept 7-5.30 which is great. The door from our room to her little room is glass so we always had to be really quiet in the evening so as not to wake her up, not put lights on, tiptoe into bed etc. It's nice to have our room back after nearly a year of having a baby in there/next door through a glass door.

Very Envy of bikinis, last time I wore one was in 2004 when dh and I had just started going out with each other and I was quite skinny cos we were shagging loads

dh will be married by now yay (as long as she's not done a Hugh-Hefner-Playmate-girlfriend thingy and run away at the altar)

Dh got me a diamond necklace for my birthday Shock it's very nice though I know nothing about jewellrey. A and G got me two big boxes of chocolate which A has already spent half the morning pestering me for Grin

viksam · 17/06/2011 22:20

malibustac · 17/06/2011 23:30

mlic and trudy sorry to hear your news. Hope you get help sooner rather than later.

chu I hadn't been on here before I commented on your balloons.

wss sounds like a gorgeous present, happy birthday.

tsc your friends house sounds great. Do you know someone who can fix your wall?

Hope you've had an amazing day dh

As you know its been a while since I weaned ds from formula to cows milk how do I do it? And is it too early to mix in some cows milk? She's 1 in under 3 weeks?
