Needle · 15/06/2011 05:29

This time i'm 99% sure its bfp. I'm going to have to buy one of those clearblue "spells it out for thickos tests" please all keep everythi crossed for me. Also that G goes back to sleep!

Needle · 15/06/2011 05:40

Have just realised that I have a fridge full of cheese. Camembert, stilton, mozzarella and a brand new, unopened saucisson. Oh god, I barely ate any poached eggs. I'm going to have to switch to decaff. I feel so unprepared.

Would I be really out of order to keep it secret for a week? I'd kill him if it was the other way around. I actually told him a direct lie that AF had arrived, so that he didn't get his hopes up. Any moral perspectives considered.

Needle · 15/06/2011 05:48

Seriously, no one else's up? Lucky things, the lot of you.

Trudyla · 15/06/2011 06:24

Congratulations needle. I'm so pleased for you. I think lies are allowed when it comes to birthdays.

WhatSheSaid · 15/06/2011 06:54

Of course I'm up needle! Congratulations. Of course you can keep it secret if you want to, it would be great to tell him on his birthday (if you have the ability to keep it secret, i wouldn't be able to). Maybe you'll have a stronger line by next week too.

So what woudl your age gap be, about 20 months? I think that's what mlic's gap is.

CakeandRoses · 15/06/2011 07:38

Congratulations needle! Wow!

I don't think there's a moral issue to keep it as a surprise but there's no way i'd manage it! i really struggled to wait til dh got home from work to tell him about being pg with A (i dressed F in a vest we'd hand-painted saying 'Big brother in July 2010' or something and got him to give dh a present of a baby name book)!

i wouldn't bother to get another test if i were you - it's definitely positive Smile

meeting up would be great. it's a little tricky that weekend as it's just after i'll have been to the health farm all day on the Fri and our first weekend back from hols but i'll keep in touch and let you know for sure if i'll be around. i live very near stansted btw.

re my parents - i almost wish my mother had that excuse as i could understand that more than her always putting her cat and the garden before us. she actually adores my father Hmm. they're like best friends and email each other every day.... (strangely, she doesn't have 'time' to email me more than once every couple of weeks)

needle congratulations, the best test I used was a Tasco one I practically only had to show it I was on the toilet and the line appeared, I spent around £30 on tests and that was the strongestline over clearblue and first response!
cakes my parents are the same, they get on really well, but dh's parents wont even go to a kids party together.
dh's mum isnt coming to his party and his dad is unsure, ive told him he makes a decision for numbers and sticks to it, Im obsessed with numbers, I keep looking at my list and saying ooh do you thin they will come??? we have has no RSVP's from DHs friends and family yet, I would rsvp straight away and find it really rude!
oh and you will have to provide pork pies and sausage rolls if tsc is coming down south from up North!
Well it was hot hot hot yesterday so I got a short romper out for L to wear and its cloudy!!
yesterday afternoon we went to a car and bike show L was so excited by the bikes just constantly brrrrrrrmmmmm bbbbbrrrrrrrrmmmmmm for 2 hours, wasnt bothered by the cars though, like his dad, whereas I was getting excited by the cars!

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/06/2011 08:30

needle big congrats! Its all happening this week isnt it!

stac I feel organised, which probably means Im not Grin not only have I got the wedding stuff to organise, Ive got to pack for the hol and do DPs fathers day present. Its going to a very busy 2 days.

Getting my eyebrows and 'down there' waxed today. (Im getting the whole lot off!)

Woodlands · 15/06/2011 09:01

Needle, huge congratulations! And I KNEW I recognised your surname from somewhere, only just realised it was on the Dangerous Book for Boys, which we have a pocket version of! Wow, cool!

My cat is fine thanks, she needed a long-lasting antibiotic injection and a painkiller injection, and she's seemed much better since then. We just have to go back in a week to see how it's healing.

Enjoy the last minute preparation DH - glad you're not too stressed. Two days before our wedding we exchanged contracts on our house sale - that was a bloody busy week!

Needle · 15/06/2011 11:01

Thanks ladies. I've done the clear blue idiot test. I'm definitely pregnant. The baby's due on 20th Feb, which is also my wedding anniversary. my plan to hide it from dh fell flat as soon as I asked him to make me decaff tea. He's delighted snd already talking about having a little boy.

malibustac · 15/06/2011 11:07

Fantastic news needle so happy for you and dh.

What's everyone up to today?

Spirael · 15/06/2011 12:34

Afternoon all. Congratulations, Needle! Grin Your DH does realise that there's a slightly greater chance of it being a girl, right? Wink And that regardless, gender was down to him!

Having tried and tested being born on 20th February myself, it's not a bad date. Though does seem to produce rather geeky individuals! Wink The date does always seem to fall in the middle of the spring half-term, for some reason. Good not to go to school on birthdays though!

I finally managed to sort out my freeby Achica order, and thought of a variety of you while doing it! I've ordered loads of nice kitchen gizmos (WSS ), some Emma Bridgewater stuff (Cake ) and picked up a Bumbo (MLIC IIRC?) which M will probably only fit for a month or two (and probably not like anyway since she's mobile now). But then I can either keep it for the eventual DC2 (not yet, don't get excited!) or eBay - as apparently they maintain their value. Grin

Also got a Gro harness thing for a normal chair, which I figured would be handy to stick in the changing bag when we're out and about and end up somewhere with no high-chair.

It's a week of freebies for me, it seems! Shock I got an entire box of a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts for free on Monday. They've opened a store nearby, so were just giving them away as part of an advertising push. I'm fine with that. Grin Omnomnomnom...

Hmmm... Now, should I buy a lottery ticket?

memphis83 · 15/06/2011 13:41

spirael yes buy a lotto ticket!!!!

needle yes if it is a girl it is dh's doing not yours, if this one is another girl you could always use that as a push to get him to stop smoking next time!!! I was wondering how you would keep it a suprise with all that cheese in the house he would be wondering why you arent eating it!!
Ive been to my group today, I have a banging headache so had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp all day and then L ran full pelt as he does with a walker out of their living room down a really steep step onto stone floor!!! I kind of regret baby gates now as her girl was 1 yesterday and as she has never had gates up doesnt go upstairs and steps down steps like a proper person rather than running at it like my extreme sports child!!!

Needle · 15/06/2011 14:15

He knows that the sex is determined by the mother, but girls are sooo scarce in his family. It's just that when he wrote the book effectively for his unborn sons. He's so proud of it, snf so wants a son to share it with. He absolutely adores g though.

memphis83 · 15/06/2011 15:28

my HV said sex is determined by the male, also when my friend was desperate for a girl it was her husband who had to change his ways not her. If you are planning 6 then Im sure he will get a boy at some point, my cousin has 6, 5 boys then one very unlucky girl that will never be allowed a life or a boyfriend without 5 big brothers breathing down her throat!!
