Enter all ye ESHes. We've been Barren, we've been Pregnant - now at last we are Child-Rearing.

  • Come share your questionable tips on raising a real live baybee!
  • Compete with Cunty to take control of the bad mummy crown!
  • Eat crap ham - after all, you deserve it!

May she never eat "nice ham" Silv. Stupid cow.

rollerbaby · 16/06/2011 20:16

Some people really are shit silv. Hope you are feeling a bit more zen now.

Mr Moo has not actually got dressed today. The moaning has been insufferable.

Dinner went better I actually cooked some baby pasta and cheese sauce and it was a hit - he ate the lot. I am well chuffed and spurred on to do more now. Melon also a success...

Looking forward to some sleep tonight without interruption by pissed fools,.

Medee · 16/06/2011 20:33

What a cow, silver.

okiecokie · 16/06/2011 20:48

Moo I guess he didn't do any work then. Is he getting you back for Saturday?

rollerbaby · 16/06/2011 20:50

If he did, it was well hidden. He has done bugger all today, whereas last weekend I was back in mummy-mode by mid morning. Hum ho. Brownie points are forthcoming soon I reckon.

Right, can I have your best cheesy mush recipes for little moo?

okiecokie · 16/06/2011 21:05

Lasagne? Cook as normal and then mush? Cauliflower cheese?

rollerbaby · 16/06/2011 21:16

Good point, just no salt or stock I suppose. God it must be so much easier once you cook 1 meal for everyone (says she with a cupboard full of Ellas).

Cosmosis · 16/06/2011 21:19

silv that is shocking Angry hope you are ok. Stiff gin???

okiecokie · 16/06/2011 21:20

You could make your own stock (ha ha ha) or Boots do a baby stock cube in beef, veg and chicken varieties which are good.

okiecokie · 16/06/2011 21:21

Bloody thunder has just woken up Peppa. Fucksticks.

rollerbaby · 16/06/2011 21:59

the last time I made stock it sat in the bottom of my freezer for about 3 years until I threw out because it took up half the space!

SilverSky · 17/06/2011 08:05

Boots baby stock 'ere too!

moo how did you dish up melon? Cut into what shapes? Does he eat or just gnash at it?

CluckyKate · 17/06/2011 09:31

I never bothered with baby stock - oxo all the way. Figured I survived with a bit of salt in my diet so why bother [shrugs]. I was weaned onto bottles using chocolate milk and still have all my teeth and given baby rice at 4 months and have no digestion/allergy issues.
In fact many of my parents decisions would now be highly questionable, but were acceptable at the time.....no doubt the same will be said of our choices too so I'm not going to fret and stress over these things Smile

FannyPriceless · 17/06/2011 09:37

honey How? I am constantly making stock and run out just as fast. I use it in everything - risottos, casseroles, cous cous, bolognese, mac cheese, etc. I freeze it in stacking 500 ml plastic dishes so it is very economical with freezer space. Go on... find your inner domestic goddess!

We have bought MrP a tie for Fathers Day, in an attempt to be ironic. Do you think he will laugh or be insulted?Confused He has just bought a new suit and has complained that he needs some new ties, so I'm hoping he'll like it...

silv We cut melon into wedge / spear shapes that he can hold in his fist.

On the other hand clucky I was weaned from bf to solids and formula over a 3 week period at 4 months old so my mum could leave me with nana and go skiing (rocketgran steals bad mummy crown) and have dodgy bowels all my life. Who knows if that's to blame but I love to wind my mum up about it ;-)

rocketleaf · 17/06/2011 09:46

I used to make stock from the roast chicken bones every other week. loved having it in the freezer for gravy and soups

MadameBoo · 17/06/2011 09:50

Your Mom cracks me up Sprocks- she is the epitome of DHB. I do so luff her though (but don't tell her that, too fluffy Wink).

CluckyKate · 17/06/2011 09:53

I did something similar with LC so I could go skiing with Boxer. We had an excellent time Grin. Didn't start her on solids 'til she was 5 1/2 months tho so rocketgran can keep the crown for now.

Granted that many of us may have issues but with allergies etc. at unprecedented levels I do wonder whether what we do is any better than the methods of the 70's. Helps that I come from a pretty robust family which is perhaps why I'm less inclined to worry.

MadameBoo · 17/06/2011 10:01

Fathers Day poses me such a dilemma- having two men in my life I call Dad. Since my wedding my bioDad's wife has hated me so I can't do right for doing wrong there. My non bioDad is feeling a bit low atm and would prob be cheered by a visit from us. Then MrBoo would prob just appreciate a day chilling at home.

We bought some special raspberry flavoured cider yesterday for him for Fathers Day - wrapped it up and hid it. Then last night when we were having dinner Smallboo points to the cupboard and says excitedly, 'There's a surprise in there for you Daddy, it's cider, with Raspberries!'. :o

AlpinePony · 17/06/2011 10:14

rocket All babywork and no ski holiday makes mummy a dull woman! Wink You yourself missed your snow holiday this year - aren't you itching to get back on the board? Grin I'm going skiing when we're back from the UK as next winter will be out.

kate The Dutch medics say it's because everything is sterilised to within an inch of its life. They positively encourage us to be a little slummy.

CurlyCasper · 17/06/2011 10:25

I've not got my dad anything yet, but will sort for when I see him next week. SFF is getting something I know he'll love, a card from me and a card Squeaks made yesterday at nursery.

I showed him the details of CM. He liked the look of it too, and worked out that we could save about £70 a month by switching. So we have agreed to have a look, weight up the pros and cons, then make a decision. All the while I will have alps concerns in my mind, and the fact that she has settled at nursery. I just wish we could take her key worker to the new place... Confused

rocketleaf · 17/06/2011 10:29

Actually pone I am an utterly RUBBISH snowboarder. I bloody love being up on the mountain but had pretty much come to terms with packing it in before getting diffed as I just keep breaking my badself. I am looking forward to hanging out in the bar drinking rummy hot chocolates and reading my kindle while Babyleaf is in ski school and TB boards. :o

boo mum is a DHB, but I feel really sorry for her at the mo as things still not good at Leaf Heights, poor woman needs a break and Pops is being super clingy. :o at smallBoos fantastic secret keeping skills.

AlpinePony · 17/06/2011 10:36

Eh? I don't have any concerns at all! Confused I think she looks great!

CurlyCasper · 17/06/2011 10:48

Just meant what you said about her seeming desperate! Smile

AlpinePony · 17/06/2011 11:08

Noooo, I don't mean "desperate" - but if she's got any bloody sense she'll take the hours and be a little flexible. When you've got 1001 mouths to feed you can't get all "oh, I only work 10-2 and not on Wednesdays"!
