melissa hope you have a better night. Ill kids are hard aren't they?

Needle · 01/06/2011 20:40

About to start Shredding again. I only made it to day 5 last time

MLIC- I hope you get it sorted, it must be so frustrating not knowing what's going on.

Melissa that sounds hellish. I hope your night improves.

Gwen took 13 steps today. I'm so proud!

Quick question- have you heard about this measles outbreak? i don't know whether to take Gwen to baby group tomorrow, because she's not had her MMR yet. I do really want to go, but I don't know how much of a risk it would be, what do you guys think?

kkfairybrains · 01/06/2011 20:41

yeah i suppose. it does take some people a few months to get periods back/backto normal after stopping the pill so maybe thats the reason

memphis83 · 01/06/2011 20:48

cheers everyone, got it sorted, sil had him but she was only just back from taking her kids out, my mum works an hour away I dont know what he thought I could do on such short notice, sometimes he is a bloody div!!! Im being reffered to a surgeon about taking part of the gristle in my arm out as its causing pressure on nerve to my hand (like carpel tunnel) so I dont have any reflexs in arm/hand, the brain scans something has come up, I have wiggley clood vessles in my central lobe, they should be smooth, they arent sure if this is causing me added problems but as they are so deep in brain they have talked to specialists and surgeons and there isnt anything that could be done as its so deep in the brain, just have to tell hospitals about it if I ever have another stroke.
mlic everything ok? why atmosphere in house? my friends periods have disappeared, the doc said because stress at home with trying to get her son into a better routine has sent her body all over the place.
tsc hope things resolve, its not a nice situation your in at the moment.

havent had chance to go to flabelos with all the shit here today as I was at hospital for 3 hours, so I have eaten biscuits, pizza, pie and mash and a cream horn !!! L was so tired he only had half an ounce of milk and dozed off!!!

WhatSheSaid · 01/06/2011 20:51

I agree too tsc, surely if he is saying he is prepared to do anything to make it better, it's worth a go. I know it's words vs actions...but I'd try everything to keep it together if it came to this for me - partly because I know how devastated my dcs would be to lose their dad. Not saying "stay together for the kids" of course - but if he's prepared to try...

mlic what's going on with the "atmosphere" in your house? V odd about no period but bfns.

memphis - hope you sorted something out re appointment

vik I think you just go onto the group page and post a photo to it, I dont' think it's album you add to or anything? COUld be wrong, I haven't posted a photo for ages.

6.30 am wake up here. That is BRILLIANT! Grin. Wow never thought I'd see the day when 6.30 felt like a lie-in.

Quick hijack cakes information on books from my friend for mrF

Songbirds Phonics is what my nephew is reading (he's just turned 4 & in reception class - the only one reading) www.focusonphonics.co.uk/acatalog/Oxford_Reading_Tree_-_Songbirds.html
Focus on Phonics Songbirds Phonics
Songbirds Phonics books present highly decodable texts that children can read by sounding out and blending. Any picture type books or there's phonic ones such as:
www.usborne.com/catalogue/catalogue.aspx?cat=1&area=ey&subcat=EYPR
My niece loved these books - She's a Year 1 child (aged 6) with a reading age of an 8 year old. She's enjoyed reading since she was a baby.
There's anopyther set of books my nephew is currently reading but can't remembere the name of them!
Also buy flash cards so he can recognise words as well as sounding out the letters/blen

I'm with the girls TSC- if he is serious about wanting to fix the problem, he'll probably find it far more difficult without your support.

WhatSheSaid · 01/06/2011 21:35

Sad mlic. Tell me to bugger off if you want, but do you have any happy/good times with him?

Chulita · 01/06/2011 21:42

mlic that's awful :( My mum hardly ever apologises but I make sure I do to everyone, even L and S cos it's something I picked up on when growing up. Maybe you were so poorly because you hadn't eaten for so long?

Well done Gwen! That's awesome :)

Mlic hope ur feeling ok now. You've got to eat!

Mylife good news like u said u know where u are now, hope ur feeling happier, are u going to say anything to DP about what he said? did he explain what he meant at all or was it heat of the moment?
WWS hope she gets used to the later waking, D woke at 5.15 this morning but i didnt get him up for an hour, he moaned a few times during that time but was mostly happy chatting and playing while i drifted in and out of sleep.
cake hows F now? Ur pics are so lovely, they do both look very similar, do they look like DH?
memphis Glad u got something sorted, u really didnt need that stress from DP on top of ur news from the hospital, when do u think they will operate?
melissa whats wrong with L? will u be going to the docs?
stac hows R? Are u bootcamping again?

Im local today so no driving miles for me thank god, chu i was going that way, its lovely round there isnt it.

D slept from 7.30 till 5.15 with two 30 second cry outs that i didnt attend to as he ss straight away, i consider that sleeping through!

Does anyone else have real trouble getting anything down the lo's for breakfast? He just doesnt want to eat, he will have a go at soen toast and have probably half a yogurt but wont touch anything like cerial, annoying as id like to give him a good start to the day before i ship him off to the CM.

CakeandRoses · 02/06/2011 08:11

Had a lovely meal and catchup at my friend's last night. it looks like she's going to make things work with her dh which would be wonderful (things have been dodgy for yonks)

Well, I count that as sleeping thru vik, even if mlic some fussy old mares don't Grin

I wouldn't worry about breakfast, ime most babies/toddlers have one meal they're not fussed about. it's often lunch which can be even more annoying.

Thank you re pics. In RL, everyone says A's so like me it's scary and F is the image of dh but weirdly, they do look alike too.

mlic I'm not sure what the appropriate thing is to say re your period coming but at least you know now!

how's things there today? i agree with you that no-one's perfect, most people have said grotty things to their partner which sound horrendous taken out of context. tbh, i'm more surprised that you don't have it out with him tho.

Thank you for all of that info stac. will have a good look thru the stuff recommended.

yay for G needle! that's most impressive. And wooooh for Ellie standing kk. i thought tsc's tiny would be the next walker Wink

tsc sounds like you've come to a good conclusion. My view would be to make sure he 100% knows that it's a decision you've come to based on the fact you're trusting him to make changes rather than he's just 'got away' with it again, iyswim?

chul i found some other nice-looking tahini recipes if you want them too (will have to look again as i printed them but didn't save them, stupidly). did you make the cake?

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 02/06/2011 08:20

vik D doesnt want much at breakfast either, probably because he's had milk in the night though! He prefers toast/fruit to cereal aswell.

The wedding cake lady is coming round today to finalise things, I cant believe its 2 weeks tomorrow!

Then Im going out for a picnic with my mummy friends, its a really sunny warm day today.
Also the news said June is going to be exceptionally warm with below avg rainfall, woop woop!!

Spirael · 02/06/2011 08:36

Lovely weather here too today, I get to watch it from inside the greenhouse office where I'm working... Hopefully the nice weather will continue until the weekend. :) M will get to play outside at nursery though, at least.

M isn't great with breakfast either, Viksam, despite having nothing to eat since her bedtime bottle at 7pm the evening before! She doesn't want anything before we leave the house in the morning, but by the time she has breakfast at nursery she normally eats loads.

I guess she takes after me in that regard, as I don't really like eating when I first wake up either. I still haven't had breakfast yet and I've been awake for two hours!

Poor M seems to have another bug currently, or it might be teething. She seems to have all possible symptoms, but to a milder degree than I'd expect for a full blown illness. She's coughing a bit, but it's not chesty. Her nose is a bit runny, but not rivers. She's thrown up small amounts occasionally, but not entire meals or more than once every couple of days.

However food does seem to be going through her incredibly quickly at the moment, she had no less than eight full nappies the other day! Shock Her poor bottom is all angry and sore looking though. :( The nursery and I have both been smothering it with barrier cream, but I doubt it'll clear until her stomach settles.

Could all that be teething symptoms? M only has one tooth, so I'm expecting her to get a few more at any time! Though there seems to be no sight of any about to push their way through.

WhatSheSaid · 02/06/2011 08:42

Yip, I think nappy rash can def be a sign of teething. Apparently something to do with the teething makibg the saliva more acidic and then the saliva gets swallowed and causes nappy rash when it comes out the other end. Or so I read somewhere anyway.

MelissaM · 02/06/2011 08:54

Yes I've heard about the measles outbreak. Seems to be an epidemic in France where we're going a week Sunday. L was meant to.have an mmr jab (as.they won't do a single.measles here) yesterday but cldn't because of his temperature. Just found out he will still have to have it again at 13 months though as won't count! So going to call private clinic later to see if can just get measles jab.
