Eek it's going so fast!

Well my night out has been cancelled so it's not an urgent rush round the shops but we are going to have z look for some summery clothes anyway.

Well I have to say that I thought the F of LMFAO meant Fat not what Ty said. She has now corrupted me Grin.

Before DD's ENT appt the other day it said I had to get a urine sample. I have no potty so put her naked in her Bumbo and within 10 secs she'd wee'd. I think I might get a potty to see if she'll go first thing like NoHun's DS as I think its a strong possibility.

HarrietJones · 19/07/2011 07:11

Asda had little ones for £1 mocking. It will be used at some point even ifnot now!!

SF, that is very kind, yes please, send your period over this way! :)

Would be nice if we all got pg at around the same time next time.

Harriet, yes, we do EC. I pop him on the potty when we get out of bed in the morning, and he usually does the business! Quite a regular little fellow. I hardly have any dirty nappies, it's amazing. He will often but not always come over to the potty in the day for a wee too. We usually have him bare-bummed if we are just around the house, but if I do have a nappy on him, he'll tug at it just before he is ready to wee.
I do believe they are aware of their bodies, and find it unpleasant to sit in a nappy of wee and poo, and would rather eliminate NOT in their pants!

Trib, hope the mastitis is clearing up. I thought once we hit a few months, it was plain sailing from there. Hope you are ok.

LOL at Mock and the fat ass! :)

DS's favourite food right now is pear. It is going down a treat! :)

TribbleWithoutACause · 19/07/2011 15:31

nohun Look at you inspiring us all, I may have to get myself a potty now and try ds on it. I've already told dh that we're getting a co sleeper crib for next time. I don't think I'm quite confident enough to fully co sleep but l loved the fact that I could basically reach over to touch ds when he was in the crib and Moses basket.

SilverSky · 19/07/2011 15:48

Juicy nectarines a winner here!

Starting to get the hang of this feeding lark. Finally. Still bit hit and miss.

What bread toppings work well?

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 19/07/2011 17:14

Grilled Cheese.

Anything that stays on the bread really! Sardines, not so much Smile.

bestfootforwards · 19/07/2011 22:03

Ds likes mashed avocado on bread

Blackberries have been a big hit here this week, but I was glad I put old clothes on us both first!

What's your favourite activity to do with your little one at the minute? Ds loves looking at books now, especially if they have flaps to lift etc, so I'm really loving that. My next favourite is definitely tickling games like round and round the garden, he knows when the tickle is about to come and his face makes the funniest expression!

I am in a strop with dh, it feels like all we do is talk about his work at the minute. I know its very intense at the minute for him and he needs me as a sounding board, but it was beginning to make me feel like I had ' disappeared'. There's so much going on in my life too, but between his work and ds there's never time for us to talk about it. I think we need a date night but there's no time for one! I feel bad being cross as its him taking two afternoons 'off' in the week to look after ds that's made me feel better about going back to work. Roll on september I guess when he will be slightly less busy...

TribbleWithoutACause · 19/07/2011 22:41

Oh BFF you poor thing, I hope things get better soon. Can you have a date night in the house or at least get a well meaning relative or friend to watch your Los and go out for a coffee? Me and dh do that from time to time when we get fed up of each other.

Oh I feel so ashamed, but I totally had my judgey pants and extra judgey knickers on today. Friend at work has told me she's expecting, que lots if exciting wibbling on my part. Anyway, we gets to talking and she told me that she'd already bought her pram. So I'm all, 'oo which one?' and she then proceeded to show me what I can only describe as a mountain buggy copy that she'd gotten off of eBay. Now, this is where the shame kicks in, on the outside I said 'oh that looks good'. In my head however I was like, I have never seen or heard of this brand on MN or in real life, therefore you have totally wasted your money, you will forever regret it and curse it to the depths of hades. Obviously a bit of an over reaction, I think I'm a closet pram Hun Shock.

Its probably a perfectly good pram, but on my way home (yes I did think about it for that long) I was thinking that she'd have been better off witha £25 from asda. I've seen them go for ages. I need help.

Have you tried eggy bread? Ds loves it. I dry fry it on the non stick uber pan.

HarrietJones · 20/07/2011 09:08

Dd3 likes hiding. Or chasing games. Very fun game seems to be dd2 lays on the floor and dd3 climbs on her & yells

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 20/07/2011 11:58

Shame on you Tribble! Grin.

Eggy bread with milk and vanilla in the egg mixture is good. We had it yesterday with berries on top.

DD crawled for the first time this morning! Smile

bestfootforwards · 20/07/2011 17:43

Oooh well done your dd mocking!

Aah it must be lovely having other children for your dd to play with hj. I think ds would really love a big brother, he hero worships my friends 3 and 5 year old boys! when I am tired I lie on the floor and let ds use me to practise standing up

Date night in sounds like a good plan trib, or might start being brave and letting our friends babysit. But I still suspect dh is so obsessed with his job at the minute that he will just start talking about that after ten minutes . Normally it doesn't bother me that much as I am quite involved in it all too and there are lots of perks, but at the minute I just feel I need a bit of focus on me (even though I only want his help with trivial things like sorting some weekends away etc). Sorry I will stop moaning now!

HarrietJones · 21/07/2011 19:23

Just a quick oneto say start saving for school uniform now. Just read dd1s list £18.99 for a skirt. And it has to be that one!

OP posts:
SpringFlowers · 21/07/2011 19:54

HJ School uniform for secondary is such a rip off. £35 for a summer dress. In my experience girls of that age grow fairly rapidly too, oh and lose their PE kit at least twice before Christmas.

Hope all well, bit tricky to name check as breastfeeding and on phone.

Last day of term tomorrow and then 5 and a half weeks holiday. Does anyone have enviable holiday plans?

HarrietJones · 21/07/2011 20:01

No summer uniform here. Is your dd1 starting this time? She's similar age to mine isn't she?

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 21/07/2011 20:27

No enviable summer plans here. DH goes away in a couple of weeks until Spring next year. All local baby activities close down for the summer hols and my parents are going on a cruise for 3 weeks. So it'll be just me, DD and the dogs mooching.

DD starts nursery tomorrow for her first taster session then from next week its 2 afternoons a week. I have found a child minder for my new work in October which is a big weight off my mind.

School uniforms- why oh why do so many schools have unique (costly) uniforms! The local girls secondary school dress here is green blazer and a black green and white plaid pleated skirt.....

MonsterBookOfTysons · 21/07/2011 22:33

I need to get ds's school uniform for nursery school, he s still is 12-18 month trousers and need to get school style ones Hmm He is 3.1 yrs old Grin

HarrietJones · 22/07/2011 07:50

Camping tonight should I take the high chair? Can't see how she will eat much sitting on a mat.

OP posts:
NoHunIntended · 22/07/2011 08:19

HJ, we have DS eating on the mat as well as his high chair. It works really well. Have fun camping.

Uniform sounds extortionate. What a rip off! We are planning to HE - I thought we'd be out of pocket, but I think it may even out if you take buying uniform into the equation!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 22/07/2011 08:40

DD often has meals sat in her Bumbo on the mat. she used to be happy sitting on the mat picnic style, but now she can crawl, she needs to be immobilised to eat Grin.

HarrietJones · 22/07/2011 09:30

Dd3 user to eat well on a mat in the garden but she's too eager to explore & a field may be too exciting especially since there are pigs & sheep!

Dd1 has her last day in primary today, tears all round this afternoon

OP posts:
NoHunIntended · 22/07/2011 11:59

We put him in a container on the floor - he could climb out, but it contained him for a bit.

Gosh HJ, I bet you feel that's flown by!

HarrietJones · 22/07/2011 12:10

We are compromising on the pram. The insert is filthy anyway & it's raining so we will need it for getting around & while we put the tent up

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 22/07/2011 15:16

You'll have a great time HJ. I love being under canvas when its raining I am Envy.

HarrietJones · 22/07/2011 16:55

Just about to load up when we got a call postponing til tomorrow. Not sure we can camp tomorrow night as we are out for sun lunch & dh has work in the afternoon
