Eek it's going so fast!

Well my night out has been cancelled so it's not an urgent rush round the shops but we are going to have z look for some summery clothes anyway.

Mocking- think it's the forest. I don't know the area, we go to Grizedale but I saw an ad at half term when it rained and we couldn't go!
Diving will be good! It's entertaining to me & I don't have a clue.

I think BP is Sam12? Or am I confused!

OP posts:
HarrietJones · 22/06/2011 10:19

Oh & I can't do Thurs as we are going to baby screening!

We are going too mocking! handball as Norway are defending champions so have semis and final, v excited :)

busyprocrastinating · 22/06/2011 14:43

Yes I am Sam12 was it floozie whose DD has an unusual name? DD's name is not uncommon at all and they just can't read it right off the paperwork. Anyway she is at nursery now so hoping she is ok. The house feels very quiet.
I am having a nightmare trying to get into a baby sign class. The one that I found which is still almost an hours drive away is booked up until Easter! So Harriet I have found you a new job. You can come and set up baby sign classes round here Grin
Glad your review went well Tired I can't believe it has been a month already. This year is flying by.

HarrietJones · 22/06/2011 15:12

Booked til Easter? People must be booking when pregnant!
I'd like to do that but I don't think people would pay much round here. I've only seen one pay-for course & she's always touting!

HJ I shall look into it and also dates...oh and I'll mention it to DH Grin. Trib, any times you cannot do?

Ooh handball Seashells its such a fast game, that'll be good to watch.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 22/06/2011 17:22

Pressed send before I'd finished- it looks like I might end up working at the same location I was at when pg but in a different area. It sounds like a good job- I used to liaise with them daily anyway. Its an area I never thought I'd work tbh as my profile isn't usual, but the boss really wants me. For some reason he thinks my 'staff skills' are great.....Hmm.

TribbleWithoutACause · 22/06/2011 17:59

HJ, Mock Same as HJ Thursday I'm busy but any other day should be fine.

HJ Do you go camping up in Grizedale? Or is there a centreparks there?

HarrietJones · 22/06/2011 19:42

No just days out. Used to go a lot in my old job as we did a project there. Not made it camping yet!

OP posts:
SeaShellsAndTheInlawInvasion · 22/06/2011 20:06

The weather is foul HJ, I'm not surprised you've not camped yet! We've not ventured out again yet :)

HarrietJones · 22/06/2011 20:31

We've not had a bad week it's just so unpredictable. Dd1 is busy next 4 weekends, sleeping at random places including her school residential this week!

hj I know and I thought I was organised looking for September. I'm on a waiting list now. There are 4 different people who run courses nearish to here all paid ones and they are all full. One woman teaches it 4 days a week! We need you in Yorkshire Smile

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 22/06/2011 22:47

There's a drop in class in Lincoln available 4 days a week for a course of 10 weeks. I am tempted and my sister is trying to put me off. She went to one and the instructor was teaching the sign for I'm in pain. One of the mothers asked how she was meant to teach the baby it and the instructor said when your baby is in pain show her the sign. My sister felt (quite reasonably I think) that a baby screaming with pain was not perhaps motivated to learn the sign for it!! Also she said why learn a language that only your DC and you know....

I'm not trying to shoot the idea down, I actually think it could be great, especially if for some reason your DC has speech issues for a while- my sister just made me laugh.

busyprocrastinating · 22/06/2011 23:11

I can see her point mock Smile. Looks like I won't get in anyway so going to see what else is about.
Nursery went down really well. No tears and she totally ignored me when I went to pick her up as she was too busy playing. Has eased my mind about going back to work.

floozietoozie · 23/06/2011 00:12

I'm still me Grin. Don't get much chance to post as laptop effed. Just back from four days inCornwll. Seashells, your HV would have conniptions if she knew my ds's current crap sleeping habits. Dd is an angel at night though. I'm praying it lasts.....

HarrietJones · 23/06/2011 07:19

Signing aids speech but I agree about the painone. You can teach it but not v easily to a baby

Just dropped DS off at the childminders and have cried all the way home in the car. This feels very wrong, why the hell am I paying someone to do something I should be doing.

Stupid economy, stupid cost of living, stupid job situation. I hate it!

Nowt much I can do about it, it is what it is. But still, it sucks sometimes.

Sorry ranty moment over, as you were.

HarrietJones · 23/06/2011 12:04

Nothing to see here people , just normal MNetting

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 23/06/2011 12:31

I'm with you Tribble. Its pants isn't it. xxxx

SilverSky · 23/06/2011 13:01

tribs I'm dreading going back to work for various reasons but mainly cos I want to look after the little guy myself. Sure, once I've been back awhile it will be fine.

mock are you staying in Lincoln jobwise now?

SeaShellsAndTheInlawInvasion · 23/06/2011 13:22

Aw tribs it feels horrible, but they will love it.

I will however join you in the ranting. After paying for two children's childcare I earn 15£ a week to leave my dc with someone else. Stupid. But if I don't do this I won't have a career when they go to school. At least I've had 9mths full time wi them both and have been lucky enough for part time work to be available afterwards. I'm counting my blessings on that score.

TribbleWithoutACause · 23/06/2011 14:08

Thanks guys, it's obvious he's having a whale of a time as when I go and pick him up he's all smiley and laughing.

I know I'm lucky to have a decent job (although we'll see how long that feeling lasts when I go back to work), but I suppose me and DH always thought that we'd be in a position to be able to at least have the option for me to stay with the kiddiwinkles. On the other hand I always thought I'd own my own house as well at this point as well. Oh well, c'est la vie.

PikaTYchu · 23/06/2011 14:55

Hi Ladies, I have had good news today, I have been excepted to do an access to teaching course at college in september, i am aiming at being a primary school teacher Grin
