OK, so I sneakily added the word 'thread's', but went with SGJ's suggestion Grin

Boris congratulations. What a shame about the presents, I hope that the overriding memories of the day were positive and that you had a lovely time.

Waving? Oh dear, I hadn't even thought of doing that. Well since the weekend we have babbling. Crawling attempts are still going backwards.
I wonder if German doctors use different weight charts to British ones - Aino is only 7kg which is dead on average.

I'm sort of reassured that I'm not the only once having strange periods. I had one four and a half weeks ago and nothing since. It's fine, but I don't want to be pg again yet.

We spent the weekend at a wedding. Lots of admirers for Aino, especially as I had dressed her in a dirndl for the pre-wedding evening (made up for my frumpy one) and various peopple took her off for cuddles so dh and I got to dance with each other.

Fenouille · 07/06/2011 21:34

Did you fit into your dirndl Cardi in the end? I don't believe you looked frumpy, it's impossible to look frumpy in a dirndl :) DH has been threatening lederhosen for DS...

bunnygirl80 · 08/06/2011 08:43

Glad you're boob's feeling better sgj Grin My friend just weaned her DS and her left boob stopped producing anything at all after she dropped 2 feeds while the right carried on as if nothing had happened - she was lopsided for about 3 weeks Grin

boris glad you had a great wedding day. It's such a shame about the presents, I can't believe someone would stoop so low as to steal from a wedding.

Did my first day back at work today - wasn't as bad as I'd thought, everything came flooding back, just as though I'd never had any time off at all. The same cannot be said for DH's first day at dropping William off at nursery - William was successfully deposited at nursery, unfortunately the bag with his milk, comforter and dummy was still in our lounge. Grin DH had to run out and buy a bottle and some formula so William could eat, and thankfully he's not that attached to his dummy so he was fine without it for the day. I'm a bit Angry that the bottle of milk I spent 20mins expressing will have to go down the sink as it's sat out a room temperature all day, but I'm trying to look at the postives - at least he didn't turn up with the bag having left William at home Grin

Lainey1981 · 09/06/2011 11:29

Congrats boris sorry to hear about the presents, hope you had a wonderful day despite it.
Day 5 of sleep deprivation here. Finn is waking up on average every 45 mins at night. Why, why, why? He has a little moan, thrashes about a bit, then i resettle him ie put blanket back on and offer dummy and he snuggles straight back down. Though there have benn 2 nights where he just babbles away in his cot kicking his legs about so no chance of sleeping anyway.
Any ideas? He does still have a cold but can breathe through is nose.
I got more sleep when he was a newborn!

Lainey1981 · 09/06/2011 11:29

*been not benn!

hmmSleep · 09/06/2011 14:43

Just back from getting Lottie weighed for the first time in months, she's 34 weeks now and weighing 16lb 1oz (7.34kg), so I guess she's a tiny one really even with her humongous thighs. We went to 'little gym' yesterday, my older 2 do it and love it so thought I'd give Lottie a go. She thought it was fantastic, beamed the whole way through Grin.

Very Angry about your wedding gifts Boris! I hope you had a wonderful day despite this, you looked beautiful and like you had a great day on the photos.

Every 45mins Lainey! Are you in the same room? Hopefully just a phase hey Hmm, sorry no advice, just sympathy!

Glad work went well bunny.

Crikey Lainey! Could he be just about to go through a new phase of development, eg crawling/babbling? I know these major leaps in development are said to mess up sleep patterns.

hmm - I must get H weighed. last time he was 7 weeks old. lol and her fat thighs then taking her to the gym Wink

Lainey1981 · 09/06/2011 21:14

Wallace - i hope that's it. He is starting to throw himself forwards from sitting now and sticks his bum in the air brings his knees up so maybe. I have been v strict with sleeping today, and have taken him out for evening stroll ( picked some strawberries from our allotment yum), bath, feed in dark room and just gone down now, a little later than the last few weeks. Fingers crossed. Think mostly I don't need to resettle him, but am such a light sleeper and he's in the same room.

Hmm I also haven't had Finn weighed for an age, think he was 9 weeks and 13lbs.
i am medicating my sleepiness with red wine for now Wink

Wallace · 09/06/2011 21:20

I took H to a baby music group today (i know, i know - but it is part of my housework avoidance strategy...) and there was a mum there with a baby girl. I asked her how old the baby was. 4.5 months then she asked how old h is and when I said 6.5 months she said " gosh he is small!"

i really don't know if he is or not Hmm his thighs are enormous!

hmmSleep · 10/06/2011 07:03

Music class, you need to get him to little gym Wallace ;) I was pushing Lottie around sainsburys the other day and a man walked past and said 'Ooh, don't you have big chubby legs', although that could have been directed at me Hmm.

OP posts:
Wallace · 10/06/2011 07:34

lol you made me snort! If H's thighs get any fatter we will be going to baby gym!

4madboys · 10/06/2011 18:08

ha ha you should see merryns thighs!! masssive chunky things, they were commented on at toddler group today as she was wearing a dress!

she is 18lb 7oz i got her weighed on wed, just so i knew how much she was at 6mths old and chatted briefly to hv about starting on solids, merryn is not all that keen tbh, having 2 icecubes of fruit/veg just at lunch time and its very hit and miss, a very big miss today, but she is growing fine etc and she will get there, i do feel that now on no 5 i have a kind of zen acceptance of the crap sleep, feeding etc and can relax a bit knowing they all get their eventually!

Wallace · 10/06/2011 21:48

That's me too 4mad. The zen acceptance of crap sleep etc. my oldest starts secondary school this year. Before we know it, it will be H starting secondary!

bunnygirl80 · 11/06/2011 04:23

4mad and wallace I wish I had a zen acceptance of crap sleep. William is waking up and staying awake for 2hrs or more at night at the moment, and after 2 weeks of it my tolerance is non-existant. Please reassure me he'll sleep through the night before he's 18

4madboys · 11/06/2011 08:54

oh he will bunnygirl, he will!

wallace my eldest is in the first year of high school, its scary how much he has changed, just you wait, they literally growup and become pre teen beasts overnight once at high school.

we had a reasonable night last night but merryn is being fussy takiing her feed at 11-11:30pm, she only took three ounces and then took an age to take the rest, she is very sleep and i am thinking maybe she i getting ready to drop that feed? so do you think just four feeds of 6oz would be enough for her over 24hrs?

hmmSleep · 11/06/2011 09:06

4mad, I asked the health visitor how much milk Lottie needed should I decide to stop breastfeeding, she recommended around 18oz a day including yogurt, cheese, milk on cereal etc. I know Lottie is a bit older but I'd have thought 24oz for Merryn would be fine.

Wallace · 11/06/2011 09:38

4mad - not looking foward to having teens and toddler in the house at same time!

bunny - 2 hrs awake in night might slightly challenge my laid back attitue..Blush

I weighed H today with some luggage scales - about 20lb I reckon!

4madboys · 11/06/2011 10:15

oh thats good hmmsleep, she isnt really eating much, only two ice cubes of fruit/veg at lunch but will start dinner time soon, she has never been a big feeder, but seems to be growing fine!

teens and toddlers is fine so far wallace, tbh ds1 is brilliant with the little two its ds2 who is 8, that he has issues with...

Lainey1981 · 11/06/2011 10:27

4mad that amount of milk sounds fine. finn has 4 x 7oz. His food intake varies, but on a good day will have about 75g ( guess) at lunch of fruit or veg, then a bit more at dinner time. Though this week we nave had some days when he hasn't eaten anything.
I am trying to figure out when/how to drop down to three milks and how to sort the schedule out to include breakfast. When do they need to be down to 3 feeds?

Lainey1981 · 11/06/2011 10:32

bunny i feel your pain re the sleep. But good news here, the last 2 nights have been so much better. No long period of awake time, just a couple of moans and quick resettles needed, aaaaand he slept in til7-7.30 instead of 6am. Hurrah. I did meticulously black out the entire room though for that one.
So hopefully tis just a phase, probably related to his new crawling skill!

Lainey1981 · 11/06/2011 10:32

*williams crawling

4madboys · 11/06/2011 11:52

i think they will let you know when they are ready to go down to three feeds a day, none of mine did that till they were over 9mths tbh, so they are all still quite young, tho my formula packet says from 7mths three bottles a day of 7oz? but it will depend on their naps and how much they eat etc.

i have just whizzed up some apricots for merryn as she seemed to be really straining when doing her poo this morning :( she didnt seem bothered but it was a lot of effort for not much poo so hoping the apricots, which she can have at lunch with some pear, help get things moving... tho her last few poos before todays one were definitely NOT of the firm variety at all... so maybe this mornings one was a one off?

well done on the crawling, merryn is showing no signs at all! and yay to the lie ins, we had some 7:30-8am starts but this mornign was 6:30 again Hmm

Rinnyx · 11/06/2011 19:12

Hey all I'm back once again, I did want to pop back and say hi sooner but my comp is 100% dead, DP does not like to share his laptop but thankfully my mum gave me her laptop so Im back online :)

Isaac turned 7 months on Thursday, its really scary how fast its gone, he has cut both bottom teeth and can good as sit up on his own, he is eating all and everything and last night we let him feed himself strawberrys, looked like he had killed something come the end of it Grin
Still no crawling tho or real rolling, he is a lazy bugger Blush

In other news for those not on my FB friends list I passed my driving test Wednesday :) so glad its out the way, now my money is my own again Grin
Also going to be taking Isaac on his first flight/holiday christmas day, off to Hong Kong for 3 weeks but going to pop over to phuket for 8 days during that time, so so excited

bunnygirl80 · 12/06/2011 10:46

4mad I'm becoming more and more certain he's going to go straight from not sleeping through to the teenage boy thing of only getting up if a bucket of cold water gets poured over him Grin

lainey I'm also wondering whether to try William on 3 feeds a day - at the moment he's feeding at 7, 11, 3 and 6:30, but he only really has a full feed at either 11 or 3, never both. Might just not offer at 11 and see how long he goes before he asks for milk. He's eating vast quantities of solids (probably about 240g at lunch and dinner, and around 120g at breakfast) so I reckon he's about ready to reduce his milk.

rinny congrats on passing your driving test

I bought Will a load of new toys today, including a little set of bongo drums. He's getting pretty good at bashing them already, although I suspect I might live to regret getting him something so noisy. Grin

4madboys · 14/06/2011 14:42

god this weaning lark is a mess! merryn is having two ice cubes of mashed fruit or veg at lunch, some days she hardly eats any, just refuses to open her mouth, yesterday she had butternut squash and carrot soup that we had (made with low salt stock) that went down ok and today she had carrot and apple and that also seemed to go down ok. but i cant imagine her eating more than two ice cubes, she just isnt that interested! and i doubt she will be on three meals a day by 7mths like all the advice suggests. still she isnt wasting away at 18lbs + Grin

today she went in a swing for the first time and seemed to enoy it, pic on fb :)
