Hey ladies - haven't been on for a while, but I've got a good excuse!
Wedding was fab, really enjoyable day and all three girls were so well behaved - not that I saw much of Astrid for most of the day as she got whisked away by two of my best friends, who have decided no more babies for them but love to look after A. There are some pics on FB, for those of you who are my friends
. Only downside is that some bugger nicked a number of the cards at some point during the day, culminating in a loss of over £300 in cash gifts. Police are now involved and luckily we had taken out insurance which covers us up to £225 for cash gifts, so hopefully we wont lose out completely. The worst thing was having to call/text/email our friends to get confirmation if they had given us a gift - and telling them not to worry if they hadn't (as we didn't ask for any, since we'd been together for such a long time), but we didn't want them thinking we were rude later on for not sending a thank you note when we never received the card. All very bloody annoying and embarassing.
Anyway, onto the babe - Astrid will be 7 months old next week and can roll onto her tummy, but not back again, is still not sitting up, has no teeth, hardly any hair and a lovely crop of cradle cap still - am I selling her to you yet?!!
In saying that, I'm not worried at all, as she's pretty much following the pattern of my older two, in that she's more of a talker than a mover (also sounds like me too
). So far she's a demon for making slavery raspberries, also does excellent, and very clear, "da-d" and "daddy" (repeats "I am not jealous that she's not mumming yet, even though I spent 95% of my time with her") and is also coming out with "hiya" and "ell-o" pretty regularly.
She's still a fab sleeper, doing 12-13 hours each night - which is better than her big sisters even now (I woke up to dd1 on the laptop at 6.45am this morning when I went to get A's bottle - dd1 is 6
) and A has the sweetest nature out of all three. If I were allowed a favourite she would be it, at the moment!
She does wave, but not on command, and loves to play the pretend cough game - I do a pretend pathetic cough and she copies me, I then have to ask her if she has a "bad cough" and she laughs and does it again over and over again. A is also still a skinny minny, pretty much growing out of 6-9 month clothes but was only weighing in at 16lb 1oz last week! Still not got a huge appetite, but seems happy enough and poos enough to keep a small farm in manure if needed!
Thinking about returning to work next month. They've offered me a mega payrise to return earlier as my boss has left and they've got no-one else in the company to do the job. I've sent them a proposed working pattern, which basically changes my office based days from 5 pw to 2 pw, with the other 3 days working from home based around my childcare/school runs. Haven't heard anything negative yet, but I'm not chasing as don't want them to think I'm too keen to return (even though the extra cash would come in handy) and my summer holiday child carer has advised she might not be able to have my three over the summer - waaah. So keep your fingers crossed for me for my work agreeing to my demands and for my CM to agree to have the girls at least until September.
