OK, so I sneakily added the word 'thread's', but went with SGJ's suggestion Grin

Ooh, can someone pm me the details of the facebook group too, please?

I have a sort-of crawling baby. She's going backwards at the moment which is quite funny. Am I a mean Mummy if I laugh at my baby getting further away from the object she has set her sights on?

Can appreciate the grumpiness re. Mother's Day. DH left for a business trip on the German one, so I didn't get my lie-in. The stupid thing was that he could have left later but wanted time to "settle in" at the other end. Once I had yelled at him a bit pointed out in a reasonable manner that time with his family was important he saw my point, I hope.

Wallace · 30/05/2011 20:33

lol cardi, my ds1 did that very funny Grin

I will let someone else pm you the fb details (not quite sure how to invite you to a group Blush)

I will say though, I DO NOT LIKE seeing you all on fb. You are all so young and beautiful Angry I am so used to being the "young mum" (had ds1 at 21) that I hadn't quite realised that now I am almost 33 I am actually and older mum...:(

hmmSleep · 30/05/2011 21:37

Have pm'd Cardi (forgetting to change back from namechange Blush)

Grin at backward crawling, poor little thing must get very frustrated!

Fen, the weather has not been good here Envy, but had a nice weekend anyway, dh and I actually got to go out to see a band and have a dance last night! Glad you finally got your mothers day gift.

Wallace, sadly you can't be talking about me, I'm 36! I do have some rather old photos on there though Grin. I don't often allow photos to be taken of me anymore!

fen glad you finally got your mother's day presents

cardi you're not the only one to laugh at your baby's attempts at movement - William has spent weeks trying to go forwards but can only go round and round and round in a circle. I can't help but laugh even when he's crying with frustration [evil grin]

William had his first induction day at nursery today. I think he had a good time - he did a painting (well he ate some paint and the paper!) and generally charmed all the nursery nurses. He refused his bottles and his solids though - hopefully he'll get the idea that he needs to eat as well as play soon.

I was busy telling them that he's non-mobile but trying to crawl at the moment, when lo and behold he got up on his hands and knees and crawled to get a toy Grin I know he's likely to acheive some of his milestones while he's at daycare and I can't watch, but I hadn't expected him to start within 10 mins of getting there

CardiCorgi · 31/05/2011 12:18

bunnygirl well at least you didn't miss the moment!

Thanks for the PMs, I've requested to join the facebook group so that you can see that I am neither young nor beautiful. I also have not lost all of the pregnancy weight and cannot get my dirndl done up which is a pain as I am meant to be wearing it on Thursday.

Wallace · 31/05/2011 20:10

No, both of you too Envy

mumcha · 01/06/2011 15:19

hi all havent been on for a while.Oliver can now sit for all of 5mins ,blow raspberries and eats everything that comes near him.He has still never cried any tears which im a bit miffed about .Could someone pm me the fb group details please .

Vix7 · 01/06/2011 19:17

Hi hi,

Could some one pm me the fb group details pls?

K isn't crawling yet, tho lots of hands and knees rocking back n forth and occasionally faceplanting!

Gave her a strip of steak yday and she sucked and chewed and gnawed on it happily for quite a while. Even managed to tear off a chunk and masticate for ages. Dunno how she manages as she's still toothless!

Lots of 'babababa' sounds. DH is convinced she is saying papa. Am slightly miffed. All the training to get her to say mama didn't work!

Thought I read something abt a London meetup. Is that still happening?

Mibby · 01/06/2011 20:13

Have sent you both the link, hope it works :)

4madboys · 02/06/2011 13:03

WOW crawling babies!! very impressed.

i am currently steaming pears to mash and freeze in ice cube trays and i have a bag of various fruit and veg to do the next day or so in preparation for project weaning to begin on sunday when merryn is 6mths! Shock

tbh she is def ready now, i felt a bit bad on tuesday when i met with nov mnetters and jessica and isaac were munching on their food and little merryn sat on my lap desperately watching me eat and trying to grab my mozarrela! the past few days she is soo in awe whenever we eat and drink and tries desperately to grab at the food/cup and practises munching with her mouth, and today she has teeth!! yes teeth, her bottom two have come through together, so she is def ready!

london meet up is being discussed but no dates or anything yet...

hmmSleep · 02/06/2011 16:28

Shock at crawling, most impressed! Lottie still just rolls around getting wedged under sofas etc. And teeth too 4mad, still no sign of teeth here, we've had the odd day where I've expected them to peek through after much knawing and dribbling but no. She seems very happy to chomp through a nice chunk of bread (and my nipple, ouch!) without teeth though.

Your pear steaming has reminded me of my food prep disaster. I finally decided to get my act together and do a bit of home cooking for Lottie as opposed to the usual shop bought stuff. Spent ages peeling, cooking, mushing and dispensing into trays pear, apple, butternut squash, carrot, sweet potato and swede. Left them out to cool prior to freezing . . . . then forgot! Had to throw the whole lot out. Grrr, I was not happy!

Still no crawling here, causing much frustration. W just got good at sitting though so can entertain himself for about 10 mins now rather than about 2 mins previously so I get 10 whole mins to dash madly round the house doing things before he demands attention again. No sign of teeth either but very interested in food. Have had a few scares with lumps of food though so am resorting to mush.

Would love to join the fb group too. Can someone pm me the details too?

hmmSleep · 02/06/2011 19:01

Have just started my period, booo, was hoping as I'm still breastfeeding they'd take a bit longer to return but Lottie has cut back a lot the last week. She now has a feed at 8am, 11am, 4pm and 7pm and I feel that she's only snacking with the middle two. Hoping she's getting enough but difficult to know when breastfeeding. She's getting really good with her cup and water now though and loves drinking homemade smoothies through a straw so going to try giving formula that way again soon (in cup, not through a straw!).

OP posts:
4madboys · 02/06/2011 19:57

why not let her have the formula with a straw? if she will happily drink it that way, plus you can buy cartons of it with a straw when you are out if you needed to! Grin

Fenouille · 02/06/2011 20:54

No crawling here as such but Norry is very mobile. Some kind of commando crawling involving scraping his forehead along the ground Grin

We've been picking mulberries again today so spent this evening sorting them out to freeze for deserts for Norry. Will be spending this weekend preparing the next round of purees for the CM. Very :( for all your efforts Hmm did everything go off or could you save something?

The FB group's by invitation only I think so you need to send your real name to one of us by PM to be invited :)

Oh, and I'm a bit Blush about the Mother's Day presents. I didn't really want anything other than a lie-in and maybe a little 'thank you' from DH. A footprint magnet was beyond my wildest dreams Grin

BTW I love FB, seeing you all. Wallace don't be ridiculous, you look a lot better after 4 than I do after 1!

bunnygirl80 · 02/06/2011 23:02

hmm I think my periods are going to return in the not too distant future as William's definitely cut right back on feeds, plus I've replaced one BF with a FF. Skin has broken out in spots over the last few days for the first time since being pg so I reckon my cycles are returning. At least I'll now get the opportunity to use the job lot of san pro I bought when I decided I would never manage to get pg, only to get my BFP 2 days later Grin

4mad hope merryn enjoys her food.

William did his first session at nursery without me being there at all. He had a great time, and I'm happy he was settled, but am somewhat annoyed that when I went to collect him he was more interested in trying to grab someone's pen than in the return of his mummy. Clearly I'm not his number 1 favourite person after all Grin

SGJ · 02/06/2011 23:15

Have gone through FB group & madly added you all (if hadn't already!) - hello all! Feel free to browse my 10 million photographs Smile

Second attempt

Vix7 · 04/06/2011 13:23

Stressed. K has figured out how to pull herself up to standing in her cot! I don't know what to do now. It's a co sleeper so I can't exactly lower the cot otherwise it won't be the same height as the mattress. What shld I do now?

For her 7m birthday, K figured out the mechanics of crawling! Albeit just a few steps before faceplanting. It's all happening too fast for me!

Wallace · 04/06/2011 13:49

lol fleurenoko - Hamish has a friend a month older who can already say words! She is a girl too....

vik - oh dear you have my sympathy!

4madboys · 04/06/2011 13:50

WOW crawling and pulling to standing, what clever babies!

merryn will be 6mths tomorrow Shock cant believe it, she is sitting better and now has TWO teeth! and have just started her on solids, just at lunchtime and only something she can pick up and chew on and a bit of mashed fruit, pear, apple etc.

no idea re the cot vix, do you think she could fall out, how much lower than your bed would it be, could you stuff the gap full of towels?
