OK, so I sneakily added the word 'thread's', but went with SGJ's suggestion Grin

4mad - I think Merryn wants to join her brothers and the madness Grin

H used to get all foamy round his mouth from blowing raspberries but he seems to have stopped doing them, I wonder why?

What else are your babies doing? H not waving or clapping yet, but has just started patting a lot - especially patting me when I give him a cuddle like I pat him :). And has learnt to bang and shake.

hmmSleep · 21/05/2011 22:27

Patting, that is very cute! Lottie still not doing much other than growling like a little wild animal, but she does now roll and roll, she's in one place, I leave the room for 2 seconds and she's rolled to the other side of the room and got stuck under a sofa!

Babies are funny - no growling or rolling here! He does roll but only very occasionally from back to front.

Fenouille · 22/05/2011 08:50

Hope you enjoyed your night out 4mad :) Norry's just like Merryn, always wants to be standing and part of the action. He very obviously can't wait to start walking...

The pox is dieing down now, thank goodness, but we had a difficult night last night. I kept feeding him to sleep and then as soon as his head hit the (figurative) pillow he started screaming, really going for it which he never really does. Didn't seem to have a temperature so we're a bit at a loss as to what it might be but he kept holding out his arms to be picked up even after being held for hours. Gave him some Dolipran and he finally went off around 10pm after DH rocked him to sleep Seems fine again this morning so who knows?

I have another dilemma Since DH managed to ignore forget both British and German Mothering Sundays do I remind him that it's the French one this coming Sunday and so his last chance to redeem himself? I suppose I could remind him not to forget his mother and hope he takes the hint he bloody should do after the fall out from ignoring the English one I'm pretty sure that Norry will have made a card at the nounou though so perhaps I should just wait until the guilt kicks in when he receives his gift for Fathers Day (a mug with Norry on it) Grin

The next health scare here is measles, so going to see if he can get the vaccination now as i don't have any faith in the other parents to have had their children done. I guess this must be my pfb 'thing' as I'm not worried about him sleeping on his tummy ;)

Hope you're all having lovely weekends :)

Fenouille · 22/05/2011 08:58

Ooh, missed the new posts.

Raspberries are very popular here, as is patting. He seems to be starting to wave (although it might still just be a bit by mistake) but I'm not sure that's all that positive as he's learnt that from me dropping him off with the nounou Blush

I love the idea of a roaring baby (and who was it that said their baby was singing, way back in a previous thread?) Norry's noises are quite delicate. He says "Hoo, hooo" quite a lot (and what with his constant night waking I'm starting to wonder if he's half owl!)

bunnygirl80 · 22/05/2011 17:51

William seems to have stopped blowing raspberries, but has moved on to proper babbling. I left him with my parents yesterday while we went to a wedding, and they swear he said "grandad" not once but twice Hmm

Poor thing gave himself a bit of a fright the other day - he was munching on a piece of toast, bit a huge lump off and tried to swallow without chewing. He gagged a bit but got it down, but now he's gone right off trying any finger foods at all.

fen if my DH had forgotten 2 mother's days he wouldn't have lived long enough to forget a third Grin

Jessica likes to do that too, mainly she tries to extract my teeth and tongue, and at church on Sundays when I'm trying to sing she enjoys covering my mouth with her hand! Do I sound that bad?!? As for blowing raspberries, she started with the bbbbbbb noise and will only use her tongue if I do it in front of her... Hopefully she will bring out every adorable trick she can do at her baptism this Sunday...

Wallace · 24/05/2011 20:39

These babies all sound adorable! I wish we could have a Nov '10 Mums' meet up!

Do your babies vary their babble with their mood? dadada is happy, bababab is getting tired and mumumum is on the verge of crying.

SGJ · 24/05/2011 21:15

Definitely, "umumumum" occurs when she's getting grumpy but we get "bbbbbbb(raspberry)bbbbbbb" when she's feeling playful!

Should we try for a November 2010 meet up? We've got a Norwich one lined up for next Tuesday. Seems like London would be the best place, maybe in the summer holidays? What do you all think?

Mibby · 24/05/2011 21:41

Im definately interested in a meet up but might be worth checking who's where, there are a fair few of us in Nottingham and also Bristol if Im not mistaken

hmmSleep · 25/05/2011 08:14

Think I might be a bit far from you all for a meet up, although it would be fab to meet all these babies (and Mums of course), I'm in Harrogate.

Lottie's been sleeping through for a week now, 7pm - 6.30 Shock, I barely dare say it out loud for fear of jinxing it! Unfortunately Ds has had an ear infection so I've still been up in the night, but still feel 100 times better for a bit of sleep.

Also annoyingly have my smear test today, and as Ds is off playgroup I will have a nice little audience, the delights of motherhood.

Also up for a meet up over the summer.
Everytime I come on here it seems as though our babies have changed so much! Finn has started babbling i think we got bababababa the other day and we get mmmmmm but not other discernible sounds so far.
He seemed to be struggling with the production of solid poo, even crying while he was doing yesterday bless him, but then went on to produce 3 in a day. Have to say, smellier but much easier to clean up than milky ones.
Sorry just realised too much info for any time of the day.
Leaving Finn with the gps overnight on sunday as a few friends are coming down and we are going to a mini festival my sil is running and then drinks back at mine. Irrationally excited.

Wallace · 25/05/2011 12:45

lol at a bit far, hmmsleep, I'm in the Scottish Highlands! Not sure I could make a meet up unfortunately :( Anyway enjoy your smear Wink

lainey - thanks for poo info Wink have a nice babyless time :)

hmmSleep · 25/05/2011 14:27

Grin Wallace. Rather awkwardly my smear was carried out by a nurse whose ds is going to start school with my ds in September. It's the parents' of new starters night tonight so after she'd had a good rummage down there it was a nice chat about the school and see you later. Weirdly I'm not actually that bothered that I'm going to be socialising with somebody whose seen my cervix, I think by the time you've had three kids you become a bit blasé about these things Hmm.

Lainey, I'm also immune to poo talk having spent half the morning massaging Lottie's tummy and bending her legs in an attempt to squeeze her's out, delightful!

Haven't had chance to read back so please forgive me for lack of personal comments! I just quickly noticed about a Nov 10 meet up.....which is ironic as was only saying the same thing yesterday to other MN's! Think most of you are in the 'group' thing on Facebook so was going to write on there to see who would be up for it! Those of you who aren't on Facebook....who would be interested and where abouts are you?.....again sorry if I've missed this info already! :)

4madboys · 25/05/2011 16:50

talking of poo, merryn normally 'goes' every other day and its quite a load, but we had poo today and yesterday, masses of it. not looking forward to th introduction of solids and the resulting poo......

thankfully after a few grumpy days she is a bit happier again today and sleeping a bit better, her bottom two teeth are ALMOST through i can see and feel them right under the gum, so hoping once they are through properly she will be her usual self..... until the next bout of teething Hmm

am loving this warm weather and have been putting her in lovely dresses and matching knickers Grin

a meet up would be fab!!

SGJ · 25/05/2011 23:24

I love all this pop talk, usually DH misses all the pooey nappies but in the last 4 days he's hilariously unfortunately caught 3 massive ones!

SGJ · 25/05/2011 23:25

Pop!! Stupid iPhone, trying to make my messages less gross! POO!!!

ItDoesntBodenWell · 28/05/2011 20:13

What is the Facebook group thing? I must have missed that!

hmmSleep · 28/05/2011 20:25

flaurenoko everyone I've told about those blackouts has ended up ordering some...I should start asking the company for comission Wink

I wear glasses too and William loves to pull them off - it's actually pushing me towards finally getting around to looking into getting my eyes lasered

As far as poo talk goes William was a once a day at 7am pooer while he was fully BFed but since the introduction of solids it's been more like 3 a day. Poor thing was a bit constipated a couple of days ago, and although he managed to squeeze it out eventually it was accompanied by noises I last heard coming from me when I was giving birth Grin

We've made it back home after our tour of the UK. William was fantastic on the flight - no crying at all despite being stuck on my lap for 24 hours and not getting a huge amount in the way of sleep. He was soooo happy to see his cot when we got home though. The longest block of sleep he did while we were away was 3.5hrs, but he took a 5 hour nap this afternoon. Ruined my get over jetlag fast plan though.....had been planning to make sure he didn't nap in more than 2hr blocks in the day but fell asleep myself and didn't wake up. I did manage to put him down only half an hour earlier than his usual bedtime this evening so we'll see what happens over night.

Fenouille · 30/05/2011 07:05

Have you all been off enjoying the weekend? I hope you've had weather as lovely as we have :) We took Norry to his first airshow on Saturday He seemed to really enjoy the displays (arms and legs going 10 to the dozen) and DH bought me him a big helicopter balloon that it currently floating above his cot Grin

I'm a total bitch though Blush It was Fete des Meres her yesterday and, as on Mothering Sunday, Norry woke us early and, as on Mothering Sunday, DH just rolled over and went back to sleep. He finally woke up just as I out Norry down for his nap and I informed him very grumpily that I was going back to bed. I didn't sleep as I was too busy sulking Blush and after about 45mins I heard him get Norry up as he'd started wingeing. I got up about 20 minutes later and had a shower at which DH appeared saying that Norry had just helped him make my mother's day present. I replied that I found him rather thoughtless (thinking he'd just whipped together some sort of macaroni stuck to paper creation) and went and got dressed. When I finally came into the lounge I realised DH (whose first language is not English) meant that Norry had helped him put out my presents Blush ooops Blush I got a lovely charm bracelet from DH and Norry had made me (with his CM's help) a magnet of his foot with jewels stuck on it Grin It's now stuck proudly on the fridge :)

Anyway... off to work, have a lovely day all of you.
