Phew! We suvived DS christening. He behaved well but I had to use the dummy to get him quiet and rully. Sad Blush

Most of both family are still over here so DS won't go to nursery this week as my mum will take care if him.

In Guernsey next weekend is a long one as on 9th May we celebrate Liberation Day, so we get another BH.

SconesForTea · 03/05/2011 09:33

SB how lovely, have you put photos on FB? How lovely too to have your mum looking after him.

PA I'm Confused did you mean 8pm? Good luck with the inflatable tub.

I don't even wash DD in the mornings Blush I give her face a good scrub after every meal and consider that sufficient.

I am sooooooooooooo tired today, my eyes are killing me, I would give anything to go back to bed. Instead I'm taking DD to my mum's by train, which I always dread, even though she's been fine every time - it's just the mental strain of concentrating on her solidly for three hours. Then when I get to mum's I have a full programme of visiting friends and going out for dinner. Why, why, why do I arrange these things!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 03/05/2011 11:09

GAhhhh.
DD2 is sleeping really well, I have to wake her up to pick up DD1. I REALLY don't want to....

Scones I don't wash DD in the morning either. and good luck for the day!

BigBadBear · 03/05/2011 11:52

Mous I hate having to wake DD2 because of DD1, but it happens all the time

stone sounds lovely. Piccies please!

PA good luck with the folding bath. I don't wash either DD in the morning either. Sometimes I wipe toast crumbs/jam/butter off them, but sometimes now.

Am wading through a 60 page document I'm editing, while trying not to fret about the three articles I need to write before next Monday. Should have done more work over the weekend, instead of reading the newspapers in bed :(

BigBadBear · 03/05/2011 11:53

scones hope you survive!

InmaculadaConcepcion · 03/05/2011 13:48

Another non-washer (mornings) here (DD, not me - I usually give myself at least a bits-and-pits once over). I figure her face and hands get done for every meal (more for hands, depending on what she's been doing) and her bum for every nappy change and she has a bath every night, so that's more than enough cleansing of her infant self, I reckon!

I'm glad the christening went well, SB. Enjoy your holiday!

Good luck with the trip, Scones.

How are all the poorly clowns, Soc?

More power to your elbow, BBB.

After more than a week of sleep-throughs, we had a 1.5hour resettle shortly after midnight last night. I was quite thrown, I've been getting out of the habit...! Nothing obvious caused it, although I haven't had a chance to rummage in DD's mouth and feel if any more teeth are on the verge of making an appearance.

I think I can say that DD is now officially walking. She will wander around in the middle of the room away from handy hand-holds for a considerable time now, so that's good enough for me! She doesn't always choose to walk if crawling is faster, but just in the last couple of days, the penny seems to have dropped... Smile

:) about the christening sb

yep meant 8pm, 8am would be good though. Saves having to go to work.

SocietyClowns · 03/05/2011 17:35

IC that's walking alright! Watch it, next time you blink she'll be sprinting away from you in the park... Smile dd2 has gone one further and prefers to drive (of course) Grin. She likes to scoot around the kitchen and into the garden and back again on her litte ride on thing.

SB Glad the christening went well Smile. Pictures please!!

I took dd2 to the GP today mainly because she spent last night screeching on and off every few hours. Her ears still look a bit sore and her canines are taking their time in coming through fully, too. As for the rash, the GP shrugged her shoulders and told me there are thousands of viral rashes without even a name... (same GP as with dd1 then... Grin)

dd2 only has three modes at the moment. 1. Giggling, laughing and smiling 2. Screeching at the top of her voice if things don't go her way, and 3. Asleep.
Must say I could do without the second!

What are you lot doing about sun hats? I forgot dd2's at my parents' and have to admit I am pretty lax about it anyway Blush. dd1 never kept one on her head more than three seconds and she had a thick head of hair from quite young which I thought would help to stop her burning on top. dd2's hair is not quite as thick yet but she has plenty, but maybe I should find or buy another hat for her (not that she keeps it on much longer than dd1 did at this age).

PenguinArmy · 03/05/2011 17:47

DD is now sporting a rather dashing bump on her head from the corner of the drawers, it is as high as it is wide. Somehow has not split her head open, but it looks like it very close. Red line just holding in.

I was going to ask about hats etc. I have to admit DD has a slight tan. If we're out for about 20 mins we tend not to put suncream on, but do hats (we have ones that tie or velcro under the chin which actually stay on). It's pretty sunny here as you can imagine.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 03/05/2011 18:02

Yep, tie under the chin hats here, too (you can see her wearing it on the blog). Not so much for head protection, more to shade her face. I rarely do suncream - just keep to the shade as much as possible.

Ah, poor DD, PA. I hope her head gets better soon.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 03/05/2011 19:33

Soc, I hope you don't mind me hassling you about it, but can you remind me of the condition you have that caused you to have all the mcs? Is it PCOS, by any chance (sorry, can't be bothered to scroll back through the previous thread to find the post..!)?

I'm asking 'cos one of the posters on my mc thread has just discovered she has it and is in need of reassurance/advice.

Apologies if that wasn't the problem.... Smile

OP posts:
SocietyClowns · 03/05/2011 19:37

IC Yep, I have the textbook case (without being overweight). I will look for the thread later to see if I can post anything reassuring Smile

StoneBaby · 03/05/2011 20:53

PA ouch! Hopefully she'll be fine

DS finds it hilarious to take his hat off. He normally keeps it on for 5 seconds Grin I do suncream if it's very sunny.

I'll post pictures on FB later on

bethylou · 03/05/2011 22:33

Hi all. Too gooped up in calomine lotion and evenings of screaming to post much - this too shall pass. GP has prescribed non-drowsy anti-itch stuff today and DS2 has at least slept this evening. Back again when can see wood for trees.

Bearcrumble · 04/05/2011 07:10

Bethy Oh poor DS2 and poor you. Hope it does pass quickly.

SB Great that the christening went well. Would love to see pics.

PA Hope DD's bump gets better soon. How are you doing, are you showing yet?

SC I am a bit anal about sunhats because DS is still practically bald.

Scones Hope you manage to get some rest soon!

IC Woo for walking!

DS started walking properly too. I just wish it was in the same direction as I'm trying to go.

My cold thing is improving but I still have a nasty cough and sore throat and painful sinuses (it will be two weeks on Friday). Throat swab came back clear yesterday which is a bit of a disappointment as I wanted an answer/treatment but I think they want to do another full blood count now.

Last two days DS has woken at 5 and then gone back to sleep after a feed but I can't sleep myself. Still at least he's going down without a murmur and sleeping through.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 04/05/2011 07:40

Aw, bethy, poor DS2 - I hope he gets over it soon.

What a nightmare you've still got the thing Bc. I really hope it gets sorted ASAP. Horrid for you. And yay for your DS walking as well!

Soc thanks for that! This is the thread - I wondered if your "recipe" might be worth a mention? Anyway, I'm sure she would be very grateful for your thoughts if you've got a minute to offer some Smile

Grr still offline at home. Now BT say is is down to Sky and they are blaming backlog and wedding.

Will sneak back for a catch up read at lunch, and hopefully post if I get time.

Am suffering tinternet withdrawl :(

StoneBaby · 04/05/2011 18:56

LBH hopefully you'll be online soon

IC yepee on the walking.

bethy Wine

Waves to everybody else

StoneBaby · 04/05/2011 19:04

I've posted some pix on FB Smile

InmaculadaConcepcion · 04/05/2011 20:25

I would be so furious in your position, LBH I'm not surprised you're in withdrawal. I hope it gets sorted soon.

Here's a blog post about DD doing her walking thang with accompanying short clip.

OP posts:
InmaculadaConcepcion · 05/05/2011 14:42

Thanks for posting on the thread, Soc! I'm sure the OP and numerous other lurkers with PCOS will find that very helpful.

Where is everyone??!!

Not much to report here. DD has been practicing her walking on and off - it's very sweet watching her tottering around. We had an 05.50 wake up call this morning, but hey ho.

Poor old DH is coming down with a cold, so he's been instructed to try not to breathe on me and DD too much in an effort to avoid it....FX

I hope everyone's okay!

OP posts:
LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 05/05/2011 14:54

Wake up was at 5.30!
I also have a bit of sticky tape which is constantly moving to another part of my body every time I try to remove it. Very heavy too (that is DD2 by the way) Wink
Went to a friend yesterday and DD2 stayed on my lap all the time Confused.

She has been saying "tico tico tico" which I just realised is tickle tickle tickle, also "india" seems to mean something not sure what yet, may be our next move Grin

hope everybody is fine, a bit worried the silence means the diseases are spreading.

BC could it be an allergy for your throat?

PenguinArmy · 05/05/2011 16:07

Wake up at 6:30 Shock That's our best yet. Bedtime is now between 6:45

StoneBaby · 05/05/2011 16:24

PA great news.

IC I'm here but can only post in the evening when DS is asleep (at the moment he's out with my parents) as he wants to grab the laptop and press all the buttons on the keyboard.

mousquetaire I have the same brand of sticky tape Grin

PenguinArmy · 05/05/2011 16:30

I dread to think how much jam is stuck in between my keys. I get to work and regularly have to wipe my keyboard. You should see my keys, there's stuff that's just not coming off.

I'm having a lazy morning in anticipation of 13 hour days on Saturday and Monday. I also have to wander up the road at some point and get some blood taken.
