cake the cowboy and indian theme sounds good, bet that will look amazing!

We got D a stroller today from Mothercare, 24.99 + 19.99 for 'accessories' which means you have to buy it.
We got it home and I put D in it and was testing it out but they've left the huge black security thing on it, the one they have to use the magnet thing at the till to get off so Im going to have to take it back just for them to take it off, v annoying!

CakeandRoses · 30/04/2011 15:42

I get unfeasibly annoyed about those tags being left on dh Just soo inconvenient

memphis gingham cushions would be perfect! Thank you for suggesting them :)

Will L not drink diluted fruit juice even?

Ohhhh cake if id have known D was a boy i would have done his room in cowboys and indians. Cath Kidston do a teepee dont they? It would look ace, is there a store by you, im sure there must be. Ace idea, i also wana come a drool on ur soft furnishings when its done, i'll bring wipes!
memphis D was really poorly with ear and throat infection at xmas, no antibiotics either, they said best not to if u can help it. it lasted for a good two weeks. Ur doing the right thing trying to keep his fluids up. D is also into everything, need cupboard locks!!!

Sounds like good days all round.

Our BBQ was lovely. I told all my friends who were there that I'm pregnant which was nice.

My neighbour was in a bit of a pickle and asked me if I could babysit her daughter (15 months) for a few hours, so she came with us. It went MUCH better than I thought it would. So far M cried everytime she saw the other little girl, but today they even played together. It was so lovely.

I feel much more confident now about having two children. M will be 15 months once our new baby arrives. Now I know it's different having them all the time to three hours, but still, I feel a bit more relaxed and able to deal with things.

Haven't sat down though since 8:30 this morning. Is that always gonna be like that? Actually, I don't want an answer.

More later. See ya.

Woodlands · 30/04/2011 19:05

We are going to decorate J's room soon and I have always wanted to do the Cath Kidston cowboy stuff, with the wallpaper - but I just can't justify the cost. I was in one of their shops yesterday and bought a lovely bowl, cup and cutlery set in the cowboy design as a present for a friend who's about to have a little boy - I would have loved it for J!

J just did his first poo in the bath, and we're at a friend's house! How embarrassing! Ah well, just scrubbed out the bath for her (she's 33 weeks pg so is finding cleaning the bath hard anyway, so I think she was quite glad!).

CakeandRoses · 30/04/2011 19:42

you're welcome to come with wetwipes vik Grin

sounds like you coped well trudy. at that age both will still be napping so you'll get a break then at least!

woodlands they always flipping well do stuff like that for the first time at someone else's house.

re wallpaper - why not just do one wall with it and then paint the other walls the same base colour of white or cream? Plus you could make/buy bunting like this for other walls. Am tempted by this myself!

the wall stickers i'm planning to get are these

More teeth coming here I think, have had all signs - one bright red cheek and a very whingy clingy G who wouldn't let me put her down yesterday and woke up about 4 times in the night...

I see cake is getting into soft-furnishings-heaven again Grin. Wigwam sounds very cool.

We have a playroom (it's a little room off the sitting room that is too narrow to be much else) but it is really just where we pile up all the toys to keep them out of the main room.

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/05/2011 07:53

Omg wss Ive got another clingy one here, Im lucky at the mo that hes playing on his own for once but it doesnt last.
He just wants to be on me and have boob boob boob all the time!
I can see another tooth at the bottom and I keep trying to look at his top gums as Im convinced there is something going on there too.

memphis83 · 01/05/2011 09:35

dh im always trying to look at the top gums for movement but L just doesnt let me look!!!
cake i really didnt want to give him juice but on docs advice ive tried everything, all different juices, squashes fruit in water, in a cup or different sippy cups, his bottle etc and nothing he had the one day he wanted my tea and he wont taste it since he isnt interested in soup even he just spits it out, its awful when the doc says he cant shift the virus's he keeps getting as hes not drinking enough to flush it out!
vik got locks from boots all baby things are 3 for 2 until the 5th! only problem is they are stopping dh doing anything too as his hands are huge so he cant work them!!! this morning he was like a sad child saying can you get a cereal bar for me please!!
we are going to my sisters birthday today at a pottery cafe where you paint something i plan on doing a plate with L's footprint on it for the kitchen!! then into town to meet mum for coffee them dh is taking me for a curry later as i've only got 2 days of nice food until soup week starts!!!

CakeandRoses · 01/05/2011 11:03

at your poor hungry dh memph Grin

that does sound tricky re L's drinking. Have you tried giving him milk in a cup sometimes to get him used to different ways of drinking?

Have you tried giving him diluted formula/milk (with water) or even milkshake/water?

i would pick a feed that's not so important and then keep diluting that one so he's having more water and less milk over time.

Feeling sooooo crappy today, chul's law's fault as i actually got 5 hours unbroken sleep - yeehaaa!

wss i so am in soft furnishings heaven Grin

for those who are interested... have just ordered the CK cowboy oilcloth for his table, a cushion in the same print and 3 red/white gingham cushions.

off to local music festival with F and A later and then my father is baby-sitting this evening so Chris and I can go back again child-free Smile

Ouch! I'm making quiche and forgot my flan tin was loose bottomed so took the tin out resting on my hand which promptly gave way and the roasting hot ring bit went sailing down my arm. I've got about 5 ring burns and I broke the pastry case by dropping on the floor so when I poured the milk bit in it's all drizzled out on the oven floor.

cake I feel more tired now that S often gives me 5-6 hours unbroken sleep than I did before when he was up every 3 hours...rubbish! (I wouldn't go back though) Have a lovely time at the music festival.

memphis unlucky with the cupboard opening, S isn't remotely interested in the cupboards and neither was L so I've not had to use those crappy lock things.

tsc is she pretty self-motivated or not really? I think GCSEs are over-rated anyway but if she does work by herself you might be surprised how much she already knows.

Off to find something frozen for my arm...

memphis83 · 01/05/2011 15:35

ouch chulita sounds painful, i used to make quiche but lost my recipe for it have never looked for another one i used to make a massive one and it would only last an hour before it was eaten!
tsc i didnt revise one bit at home i didnt even ever take my books from the car, i did well in exams much to everyones surprise hopefully she will do well in them?
cakes ive tried all those things, you use less milk and he knows and wont drink it, he wont drink milk from a sippy cup either, i gave him grapes at the party and he sucked them then spat out skin, im now going to the shop to try grape juice and even though its got high sugars I thought of making him a smoothie?

Chulita · 01/05/2011 16:22

I don't use a recipe, I just do 1/2pt milk, 3 or 4 eggs, basil, salt and pepper with a handful of grated cheese in a pastry case with whatever veg/meat I want (usually tomato, bacon and onion). You're right though, it doesn't last long! (and yes, it is painful but serves me right for being the most forgetful woman in the universe).
Have you tried cooked apple? S will eat a whole sliced apple boiled in the microwave for 2-3 mins. It's very watery/juicy and cos he doesn't drink much that's one way I get water down him.

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/05/2011 17:16

Ouch chulita hope you ran it under cold water.

We've been out all day with my mum and dad, walked round the beach, had lunch at KFC then flopped around on the sofa at hers, we've just come back via FILs to feed his cats (hes away)

CakeandRoses · 01/05/2011 19:32

yikes chul, that made me wince. how is it now?!

you ok mlic? v quiet Shock

had an amazing time at festival. got some fab child-of-lentil-weaver shots of F mincing around flourishing my paisley bf cover as a cape Hmm Grin

just putting A down and then going back for more.

OP posts:
Woodlands · 01/05/2011 19:36

Ow chulita that sounds really painful! I love home made quiche but can never be bothered to make it myself.

Got home this afternoon, it's nice to be home except our house is a pit as we're in the middle of decorating the hall. Hopefully we'll get it finished tomorrow and then we can tidy and clean the place.

Love those Belle and Boo stickers. Does anyone else know any good websites for children's room friezes/stickers?

Woodlands · 01/05/2011 19:49

I mean apart from Belle and Boo...

Chulita · 01/05/2011 20:20

woodlands just for you

cake it's ok but it's right where S sits when he's on my hip (in other words 'all the time) so it's going to be painful to carry him for a while. Grin at paisley cape!

dh 'kfc' [drools]

Trudyla · 02/05/2011 09:14

Good morning all,

am I the first one in? Where is MLIC? Are you OK?

Ouch chulita that sounds really painful. How is it now when you're carrying S?

How was the eve fest cake? Are you hungover?

Memph M doesn't drink a lot and it has been driving me mad. Our weird method is to syringe some water in her mouth. She thinks it's great fun and swallows it and opens the mouth for the next squirt. Not sure what this is teaching her for the future but I think I'll figure that out then. As long as I can get some liquid into her now, I'm happy. Might be worth a try? We tried it first in the bathtub, squirting water all over. She then opened her mouth and demanded some to be squirted in there.

DH It's not long now till your wedding, is it. How many weeks? Can you tell I'm in wedding fever now after the Royal one?

TSC Glad things are looking up a bit.

Chulita and MLIC, my pregnant buddies, have you done a test yet?

The cat just positioned herself on my right arm, purring and demanding cuddles, so typing is too hard now. More later.

Chulita · 02/05/2011 09:17

Grin I sincerely doubt I'm pregnant tbh, as nice as it would be, we've not been trying and I don't feel remotely pg. Gotta get a bit more active I think Wink

Woodlands · 02/05/2011 09:43

Thanks for the suggestions Cake and Chulita - lovely ideas there! I think we might go for the Gruffalo room makeover set: www.funtosee.com/stickers-for-girls/animals/the-gruffalo-room-makeover-kit. J already has some Gruffalo stuff and DH reads him the book several times a week!

J has his first swimming lesson this morning - DH is going to take him since he can, and I'll get on with the painting.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/05/2011 09:46

Its 6 weeks til my wedding now, still got things to do but only small.

Chulita · 02/05/2011 09:51

I'm losing on my aibu thread and I didn't think I was...just shows how wrong everyone can be on mn Grin
