Marzi- you d think id be a pro but he's so far so different to the others!
He' s outfoxing me!

MakeTeaNotWar · 07/12/2011 10:53

Congrats GYA you have done us August girls proud! You know I have flirted with other threads and groups on MN but this is where I feel most comfortable, it was the first group I joined and is definitely my true MN home ....aw *wipes away sentimental tear (and no I haven't been hitting the gin already).

How is Thomas dog ?

Marzi and Woodlands honestly you two have read my mind, I was coming on to moan about S's eating habits and how on earth to deal with them. She once ate more than we did it seemed and was a joy to feed but for the past 2 weeks, she doesn't even look at, let alone taste, what's on offer but turns away with a very firm "No!". It is infuriating and I try to keep calm but my blood does boil when yet another bowl of porridge is tipped over me. The last straw was dousing my lovely homemade lamb burgers and sweet potato wedges with baked beans in a desperate attempt for her to eat something - let's face it, that's just one step away from ketchup. She cries out for a banana at every meal and has an enormous meltdown when I don't give her one - the girl seems to be subsisting on fruit which is making for some very interesting nappies.

Any tips anyone? Does this pass? In S's defence, I did find 3 brand new teeth in her mouth last night which brings it to a grand total of 11.

Oh and she decided to have a singsong with Teddy this morning - at 4 bleedin' am when I have to get up for work at 5.30. Ah but I love her dearly......

CherryPie3 · 07/12/2011 11:26

That's a lovely name choice GYA, Smile

Sorry to hear about mealtime troubles (although seriously impressed with S's talking MakeTea)!!

Luckily for us Corey will eat just about anything you give him, except rice pudding so far but u expect that will change. I'm not averse to baked beans on a meal either - my kids love them and as far as veg goes, it works! To be honest all 3 of them are pretty good with whatever veg you give them.
I also occasionally let them have ketchup! I didn't realise this was so frowned upon.

Seems like it's just me that thought it was wrt the Christmas tree. This year's tree is the biggest we've had and it's been fine, Corey likes to pinch the baubles but I just tell him no and out them back on - he's only a toddler after all.

TTFN ladies, I really have to get cracking with the master bedroom/bathroom now, and get dinner ready, and tea out of the freezer. Just having a really can't be bloody arsed day!

Love to all xx

MakeTeaNotWar · 07/12/2011 12:16

Oh it's not that ketchup is a terrible thing - I love it myself - but I don't want to have to drown every meal in the stuff to make her eat it. This too shall pass and all that Wink

We're blocking our tree off with a barricade of armchairs to keep the little monkey from pulling it over but I haven't figured out how to stop her putting all sorts of stuff in the bin yet.....

girlsyearapart · 08/12/2011 03:39

We have the bin fascination here too.. Also the washing machine.
She also lovingly put half a sucked on wafer biscuit in henrys Moses basket.

Out of the three of them the love is definitely there from Tilly to Henry lots of kisses & 'Aah baby' from her. V cute.

The other girls are not bothered & dd1 said to me 'I did so want the baby to be a girl..' oh well.

Henry had his first cinema trip yesterday! Took the girls to see Arthur Christmas left T with the in laws.
Then pizza express so he had a busy day for a 4 day old!

I do think it's a bit sad not to have a tree at all by the way- though if you're not going to be home for Xmas that's different.
We still haven't got ours. Been too busy this week.

The girls had their nativity yesterday which was heart melting.

Henry woke to feed at 3am tonight tho had been in the Moses since 10.15! Record breaking sleep moment.
Wil forgive him the scream fest of an evening if he wil sleep like that.

He must be very hungry tho as fed for around an hour in all from me then after some more crying drank 3oz formula..

MaidenDevon · 08/12/2011 15:02

Fab name GYA Henry was on my short list for boys (after I'd got over my religious phase of Emmanuel, Gabriel, Noah etc of which DH despaired - still love them by the way...)

I had a prang in my car this morning on my way to work Sad. Fortunately my mum has F today so I'd already dropped her off otherwise she would have been in the car as well if it was a nursery day. Completely my fault, pulled away in a line of traffic when lights turned green, someone a few cars in front slammed on their brakes (who knows why?) and everyone else had to do emergency stops. I braked but still skidded and hit the car in front - was only doing about 10mph fortunately.

The worst thing was having to phone DH and tell him - he's always going on about how fast I drive/too close to cars in front. Honestly, he would have hit the car as well, but now he's convinced I was driving like Jenson Button, and I know I'm never going to hear the end of it... No damage to other car and mine just needs some "minor bonnet adjustment" Blush

Onto happier things, F had her nursery Christmas party and still had her hand painted hat on when I picked her up and insisted on wearing it around the supermarket afterwards as well, so cute.

Fingers crossed she is still a good eater and will try most things (except celery which got flung across the room in indignation). TBH she eats most of the things we do which makes life easy. Any kind of pasta is a firm favourite, but baked beans and mash do just as well, if she's got a banana and a yoghurt Milky Way/chocolate buttons for afters.

soontobefatnat · 08/12/2011 20:28

GYA what a trooper Henry is, sleeping such a big chunk as such a little man. Hooray! (And you're a trooper too, cinema and Pizza Express?? That would be a big day out for me and I haven't just had a baby!)

Tea your mealtimes sound like mine! Eli is refusing everything at the moment (with a big headshake and 'NO'), which is really frustrating. If I can get him to try a bit, he usually tucks in, but I hate the refusal before he's even tried it! A lot of homemade food has ended up on the floor recently and I have been so cross at points. Quite trying. Eli is also obsessed with bananas and cries out 'banny, bannyyyyy!' throughout the meal until we capitulate and hand him one. He eats two a day right now.

Not very Christmassy here. No tree, no decs up, no cards written, no presents bought! We're off to NYC to spend Christmas with my parents on the 19th, so I think we're not going to bother decorating this year. Bit stingy, but we've got so much on at the moment and Eli is (obviously) not bothered! I am off to do a bit of shopping tomorrow afternoon - venturing into the West End. Urgh. Wish me luck!

thedogwalker · 09/12/2011 10:05

Hi all, sorry been absent for a bit.

Congrats GYA, what a lovely name, Henry, yes just lovely. What a perfect little family, bet you're so happy.

T is getting better, he has started having normal poos again, but stil has some very loose ones. But I have noticed that he now has 2 of his back teeth through, which I think have been the cause of this. He has been off his food too and I wondered why as he normally eats more than me. If it wasn't a banana then he wasn't interested, but thankfully this week his appetite has coem back with a vengence, he is eating me out of house and home Grin and he is a much happier boy. Yipee I've got my happy boy back again.
I was really unwell for 72 hours, thought it was morning sickness at first but it turned out to be D&V for the whole 72 hours, I couldn't even keep water down. Just hope I haven't hurt my little ray of sunshine, with not being able to eat or drink. I've got my scan on Monday, I am 13 weeks today and I can't wait to see me little ray of sunshine for the first time. DH has now been away for a month only 5 1/2 months left and he will be home again Smile, just in time for me to finish work, put my feet up and await our LOs arrival.

I've got a 4 ft tree, which Ihave placed on top of a chest. T has been very good, he has gently touched some of the baubles and I have said good boy, don't touch anymore and he has stayed away. Keeping my fingers x he does.
Hope everyone is well and that your are ok after your accident Maiden.
ta ta for now xx

girlsyearapart · 10/12/2011 03:11

Thanks for the positive votes for the name! Funny Henry was the name we had for dd1 then it changed to Joseph the 2nd & 3rd times then was nearly William this time.

Last night not so successful up 130-545! Not screaming but not sleeping & whinging enough so I couldn't sleep either. Tonight though new record 9-230 & I'm feeding him now.

Dogwalker- the back teeth coming can be majorly upsetting for them, I think tillys are coming soon as I can see White though since her accident she's not keen on us looking in there.

From tomorrow morning until church at 4 on Sunday it's just me & henry as the girls are all sleeping at my sisters. Chance to recharge my batteries & get some sorting out done.

Xmas tree happening on Sunday too. Starting to feel christmassy now!

thedogwalker · 10/12/2011 18:14

I ventured to Bath today to have a look at the Christmas Markets, after 15 years of living in Germany I was disapointed with what I saw, but I have never been to Bath before so that was a nice experience. Would probably go through week next time as it was so so busy. Nightmare when you got the buggy, but T loved it, talking to everyone he meets.
GYA T has never liked me looking in his mouth, I have to get him on my knee and give him a belly rub so that he laughs alot, that is the only way I can catch a quick glimpse of what is going on in there, but no wonder Tilly is not wanting you to look after her accident, how are her teeth now? Any improvement?
Hope everyone is having a good weekend, take care xx

bellygazing · 11/12/2011 22:59

So lovely to hear about Henry, GYA, dare I say it makes me feel a teeny tint bit nostalgic for those early days. Re food - mostly Elodie is really good but every now and againshe will shout 'NO', particularly when it's something I have lovingly created. She also has a habit of occasionally picking the pasta out and leaving everything else. And throwing bits of food on the floor with a cheeky grin. And yelling 'nana' and refusing everything except bananas. She can spot them across the room. And if you happen to mention it, she goes mental. So we've taken to calling them 'yellow fruit'.

thedogwalker · 12/12/2011 13:09

Belly I think all LOs must love Bananas, as T is exactly the same. He has 2 per day and would eat more if I let him. When he sees one, he gets so excited, makes me laugh, ah bless.
I had my 12 week scan today, they have put me as 14 week exactly, I don't believe it as I know when I conceived, with DH living in Germany at the time, I know when he was visiting, so I am sticking with my own original date of 16 June. Still it was great to see my little ray of sunshine for the first time. Now got to scan the pics of the LO so I can send then to DH who is now in Afghanistan (another 5 months before he is home).
Hope everyone is having a good day, take care xx

marzipananimal · 12/12/2011 19:46

Glad the scan went well dogwalker, it's so amazing to see them for the first time :)

J loves bananas too, I've been limiting him to one a day, but maybe 2 would be fine. I was worried about constipation but he's been nowhere near constipated for ages so I'm sure it wouldn't do any harm. I can't glad he can't say much yet as he can't pester me for bananas, but we're careful not to say the word unless we're about to give him one!

Hope you had a relaxing time yesterday gya and hope you're managing to get some sleep

girlsyearapart · 13/12/2011 02:24

Hi all

Congrats dogwalker
Must be so hard having your Dh in Afghanistan.
Can you talk to him by phone at all?

Tillys teeth have improved though the remaining big middle one is twisted so we ll see what they say at maxillo facial on the 21st.

Not sure if I exactly rested over the weekend but nice not to have such a hectic household for a few days!

Henry still flummoxing me with his feeding - up to an hour from me & still not settled & wanting a bottle..

Put the Xmas tree up Sunday night but dd2 had an allergic reaction to it so we gave it to my sister & have borrowed a fake one.
Will buy our own fake in the sales..

So I was on the sofa last night with h in his Moses on the coffee table- sleep not happening much tho..
Dh in our bed with itchy dd2.
Joy.

Had mini plot loss last night & gave baby & bottle to Dh while he watched the football so I could go to bed only for him to announce that he was going to work at half time so I burst into tears.

He went to work late..

CazBX · 15/12/2011 14:41

Just popped by to say hello! :) xx

thedogwalker · 15/12/2011 15:43

Hi Caz, liking the new name. How is Alexander? Hope all is well. Great to hear from you. Take care xx

CazBX · 15/12/2011 16:53

He's doing fab, 2 months old now and taking so much notice. He's discovering there is a world! content and happy for most part but just had a week of being cranky, lots of sick and crying when he was led down, not settling and just generally miserable. Dr diagnosed reflux and gave us gaviscon which has made a huge difference already. content baby back. we've also been referred to the hospital because he still has a touch of jaundice, appointment tomorrow, bit nervous although I'm sure it'll be fine. he gives the most gorgeous smiles now and loves his dad, definitely saves the best smiles for dh! think bathtime is one of his favourite activities at the moment; coos and kicks the whole time he is in the water! anyway its pretty good here and we are both looking forward to our first christmas with him.

hope you are all looking forward to christmas too xx

thedogwalker · 16/12/2011 08:46

That is just fabulous news CazBX, I am so happy for you and your DH. You sound like you are enjoying every moment of motherhood, which I have too and I am so glad it has been a happy time for you, you most certainly deserved it. Hope you have a lovely family Christmas, take care and keep us updated Xmas Smile

CherryPie3 · 16/12/2011 16:40

Hello everyone,

Isn't it crazy? Everytime you go somewhere you're getting bashed by sticky-outy rolls of Christmas wrap or generally not being able to take the pushchair anywhere! Crazy I tell thee!

Caz you sound so blissful. Also loving the new nickname. Smile

Dogwalker - congratulations on the scan, 14wks eh? I agree with you, because of your situation you know exactly what dates you did and didn't 'do it' so to speak. 16th June has a nice ring to it anyhow Smile
You ought to live a little closer to us, there is currently a German Market on in Leeds about 40mins from me. The Kristkindelmart I think... Apparently it's amazing but I haven't actually been myself.

Gotta run, will post again later...

thedogwalker · 16/12/2011 19:43

My family come from Halifax and I'm heading up there next week, so I might venture to the Leeds Christmas market, thanks for the tip Cherry.
Hope everyone is having a good time in the run up to Christmas, I am all shopped and all wrapped, so just going to sit back and try and relax Xmas Hmm

thedogwalker · 24/12/2011 20:08

Merry Christmas to all, hope you have a wonderful day Xmas Grin

MaidenDevon · 28/12/2011 14:35

Hope you all had an uneventful and joyful Christmas. Felicity got spoilt rotten, and I didn't do too badly either Xmas Grin

Daddy is looking after her today and tomorrow as I am mumsnetting and eating Quality Street working hard in the office. He has texted about 15 times already telling me what a hard job it is, how exhausted he is and despite loving her to bits is finding her erm, challenging. My favourite excerpt from a text pre lunch was "She has chipped the screen on my phone. She threw it at the car. She is asleep now. We are sat in the car outside the house. I daren't move her inside in case she wakes up. She threw the dinosaur's lego head at me. Ouch!"

Still reading your blog CazBX, makes me appreciate every moment I have with F. Thankyou.

If I don't get on again before 2012 much love to all and growing bumps.

CherryPie3 · 30/12/2011 07:47

Good morning ladies, hope you've all had fantastic christmas'! Needless to say all 3 dc's were spoiled, and are excited for the next one - as am I! My decs aren't even down yet and I'm looking forward to trimming up again :).

Much love to everyone, and I wish you all fabulously Happy New Years!!! Smile

OP posts:
marzipananimal · 01/01/2012 19:13

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone is well. We had a lovely few days away at my PIL's but now I'm starting to dread DH going back to work on tues. I can't remember how I manage J all by myself!
Need to find a way to organise and tidy all the new toys J has been given. I'm glad we only bought him one thing!

bellygazing · 03/01/2012 15:59

Dear all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Hope everyone has had a good time. We've had fun despite quite a lot of travelling, some bizarre sleeping and a certain amount of bank holiday working from me (curse the work of a hack)

But on the plus side, I had to go to the local hospital - where E was born and where I have not been since her birth - on New Year's Day to capture the first babies of 2012 born so I got to see some teeny tiny newborns. Broody? I would be if I wasn't so broke!
