Cherry Hope you're having a better day today, sounds like its been a bit miserable for you of late, what with funerals and friens with poorly children, ouch to the breaking of the hip, poor woman, poor child.

Nothing much to report here, T's just getting over his 5th bout of chest infection, bless him, he's been off his food, which is unusual for him because he normally eats for 10 babies Grin. Doc thinks he might suffer from child asthma which he will grow out of, not sure about this, but T is to have some tests if he has another bout of chest infection. T has only just learned to crawl, he went from rolling to pulling himself along to walking, missing out the crawling phase altogether. He now only crawls on rare occasions, preferring to run at mac 10 every where.
Hope everyone is well, take care xx

marzipananimal · 25/11/2011 19:48

J normally eats loads but has been getting increasingly fussy (grr) and been off his food a bit the last few days.
I hope T shakes of this chest infection completely, poor thing.
gya, how's tilly? That sounds awful :(

York uni is obviously the place to go! I loved it. Lovely campus and lovely city

soontobefatnat · 25/11/2011 20:56

But what about the hordes of Canadian geese, Marzi?? Geese aside though, it was lovely. I went to York from 1997 - 2000. I am 1,000 years old! And Woodlands funny you went there too!

GYA how's Tilly, poor thing? What a horrid thing to have happen. I hope she's feeling better and that you're not too shaken by the while experience. Massive hugs all round.

Did you have a better day, Cherry?

We're doing okay here. Turns out the neighbours just had two epic nights celebrating a new baby! Aside from the usual walking about noises, they've been really quiet. Thank GOD! I thought I was going to going to have a nervous breakdown. Turns out the lady upstairs has six girls. SIX! I nearly fell over when she told me.

And here I am unable to handle one! Eli is still incredibly clingy/grumpy/fussy. He's waking up every 2 hours at night, screaming and raging and stays awake for ages. Won't even be settled in our bed. I think it's his teeth, but Calpol had no effect last night. We've no idea what's going on - he's miserable most of the time. Any thoughts anyone?!

thedogwalker · 26/11/2011 08:21

Nat so glad the neighbours weren't as bad as initially thought, thank goodness. I find the infant nurofen much better than calpol, when T had a fever, calpol didn't even touch it, at the hospital they gave him the nurofen and it was an instant relief. Sorry but nothing other than that to offer. I think it must be the teeth, our poor little DCs, but at least when they are all through it will be much better.

Hope everyone else is ok, take care xx

CherryPie3 · 27/11/2011 18:38

Evening ladies, my day definitely did get better thank you Smile.

Been a busy busy weekend this one, my children are officially socialites :). Yesterday they were invited to a 1st birthday and today to a christening. They have better social lives than us! But then again we don't actually have one...Hmm.

Who's x-factoring it tonight? we are, it's the highlight of our sad little weekends haha Grin. Janet to go, especially after her double fuckup mistake. I mean, if you're wanting to be a famous singer you need to remember your words don't you? And not make excuses!

Treating ourselves to a pizza tonight and some pringles. We don't half live the high life Grin.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend xxx

marzipananimal · 27/11/2011 19:02

Yes the geese could be a bit aggressive in spring, and I found the black swans a bit scary too! Glad the noise has died down, hope you're enjoying your new flat now. Sorry to hear Eli's going through a rough patch. Developmental spurt maybe? Or just the never ending teething! I'll be sooo glad when J finally has them all. He's got 14 so only 6 to go.
I second nurofen/ibuprofen being better than calpol, although when it's bad only boob will do.

Enjoy your x-factor and pizza cherry. I'm in bed with either another cold or an allergic reaction. Really hope it's the latter in which case I should be better tomorrow. I'm streaming like anything and feeling really rough though :(

girlsyearapart · 28/11/2011 09:22

Thanks for all your messages.
Tilly is a little trooper being so resilient. Think much more traumatic for me long term than her!
Her gums have healed up amazingly well and you can see the three remaining teeth but they are not where they used to be.

They may come down on their own if not then out under anaesthetic. Apt with maxillo facial on dec 21.

Things that day didn't improve as dd2 woke at 3am asking to be carried back to bed & I fell down the stairs holding her & broke my toe & possibly another bone in my foot.
They won't x ray as pg & no cast but still painful.
Dd2 is testing the patience of several saints at the moment don't think I can handle much more of her screaming & general carrying on..

Woodlands · 28/11/2011 09:57

Oh crikey gya, what an awful awful day for you that was! Sorry to hear about your foot.

No labour news yet?

Nat I was there 99-02 so a bit of overlap!

thedogwalker · 28/11/2011 13:36

Oh GYA poor you, it didn't get any better for you did it. Ouch your poor foot. Hope you're feeling better now. Cherry I was x-factoring too, yes my highlight of the week too. What sad lives we lead. Yes, yes , yes Janet at last went, I've been wanting her to go since week 1. Still not the same without my fave Craig though. Nothing else to tell, got 2 more weeks til my scan, I can't wait to see my little ray of sunshine for the first time Smile.
Hope everyone is well, take care xx

girlsyearapart · 28/11/2011 20:33

My favourite was Craig as well was a shame when he went.

I really liked Janet when she auditioned but I didn't like what they did to her during the show..

Don't like mischa b much.
I have watched it every year but this year pissing me off cos there's so many adverts.

No labour here yet tho feeling increasingly uncomfortable & braxton hicks building up.

thedogwalker · 30/11/2011 19:53

My Thomas is still not well. He's still got a bad chest and lots of phelm [sp???] etc on his chest, which the Doc syas was causing him to have loose nappies. He hasn't doen a solid poo in over 6 weeks (sorry if tmi), anyway took him back again today as the antibiotics have had no effect. Saw a different Doc who gave Thomas a full examination, not just the taking of his temperature like the other Doc. He's asked for a sample of the poo, got to take it in tomorrow and he's asked me to stop givign Thomas dairy milk and other diary products to see if that has any effect. Hope something changes soon, a shis poor insides and sore botty can't take much more.

Sorry for the whinge. Oh GYA good old braxton hicks, I'll keep my fingers x that things start moving soon. Take good care of yourself.
Hope everyone else is well xx

MaidenDevon · 01/12/2011 13:05

Oh dear, everyone's a bit ill or accident prone at the moment! GYA Hope Tilly's toofypegs and your foot fix themselves soon, and fingers crossed for bumpy making an uneventful entrance in due course.

Dogwalker I feel for you - F gets really vomitty when she is plegmmy (sp?) - she doesn't know to spit it out, rather than swallow it and that makes her nappies awfully runny.

Nat glad the neighbours have quietened (sp?) down - DH's helpful Hmm advice was "phone environmental services..."

Just listening to Radio 2 about a lady whose little boy drowned in her garden pond Sad. The older F gets the more I think about what I would do if something happened to her, it doesn't bear thinking about, she's just a part of me. I honestly don't think I could go on.

Anyway, onto happier things - we have bought far too many Christmas presents Grin, but we're making up for last year when she really didn't have a clue what was going on and spent most of the day crying with "overwroughtness" and puzzling at "why are you all dressed up to sit around on the sofa eating chocolate and I can't have any?". Peppa Pig advent calendar was opened this morning and choccy duly eaten, though trying to explain why she couldn't open the other doors was a waste of time!

She fell over at the soft play centre on Monday and cut her lip - was nasty and bled a lot, but no stitches needed and they gave her a balloon after she'd been cleaned up so all was well. Plus they let her have a drink of water from a "big girl" cup, which she was delighted with (sippy cups only in our house for F).

F is 16 months tomorrow and still not really saying anything other than hiya, bye, da and ack (Jack the dog). Still no "mummy", unless she is upset when she goes "mamamamamama", she just tugs on my trouser leg or puts a finger up my nose if she wants something. She does "talk" all of the time and understands what I am telling her to do (go and get shoes/coat/put that back in the cupboard), but my friend's little girl who is 6 weeks older is really advanced, practically having conversations - someone pass me a mince pie and tell me to stop comparing, no good will come of it! No doubt one day I'll post somewhere "My 4 year old won't shut up - help!"

Yesterday was the first day when I have picked her up from nursery and she didn't cry when she saw me. I tried to get her coat on and she wanted to carrying on playing - she's been there 4 months now and loves it. They have their Chrismas party next week. In the spirit of domestic godessness I am providing crackers and cheese triangles, no doubt some of the other mums will be fashioning a masterpiece in the shape of Father Christmas and his reindeer from organic cheese straws (homemade natch) and a roasted butternut squash.

Sorry, that was a bit epic! Love to all xx

soontobefatnat · 02/12/2011 15:13

Maiden lovely news that F is now so confident and happy at nursery. It's such a relief, isn't it?

Dog any improvement for Thomas? Eli has yet another virus and has hada ragingly high temp of over 40! It's finally settling down, but it's odd he's had relapse of the same virus from a few weeks ago. I think there are some persistent bugs about this winter. And in a way I'm a bit relieved that E turned out to be ill all along, which might explain a lot about his terrible mood of late. Am hoping he'll return to himself again soon!

GYA hopefully Tilly's teeth will move down by themselves so she won't need the procedure. Will keep my fingers crossed. How are those brackies going?!

Feeling rough this week. Properly nauseous - bleurg! Worse than with E. Luckily no actual puking though.

And on that lovely note, I shall wish you all a lovely weekend.

CherryPie3 · 03/12/2011 17:06

Hello ladies, sorry I've been a bit absent again - my dh has had this week off work so we've been here, there and everywhere doing the Christmas shopping.

And shopping for a Christmas tree! This is the first year we've had a real one ad it's caused so much drama! The tree is perfect but the bucket that we bought with it had a hole in which we only discovered after filling it with water! Angry Wet carpet no.1.

We exchanged that bucket for a new one which we checked at the garden centre and seemed fine but again resulted in the second carpet soaking. All sorted now thankfully and I now feel very festive!! SmileSmile

Me and the kids made paperchains today so they're now pinned to the ceiling! I'm so excited for Christmas!

Hope all mums and babies are happy and well xx

Kept trying to post yesterday & messing it up.
Nearly reported one of Nats posts..

Anyway baby boy arrived yesterday morning at 6.25 after the worlds quickest labour

Left home just before 6 & only just made it in time.
Was 9cm when I got on the bed then waters went & he was born.

No name yet but he is gorgeous.

Getting used to having a boy now!

MaidenDevon · 04/12/2011 17:00

Oh wow, huge congrats GABYA (Girls and boy year apart!). If I may refer you ladies to my post of 18th November where I predicted a boy.... That Mystic Meg had better watch out, now if only I could pick the lotto numbers Xmas Wink.

Decs and tree up in the Maiden houshold, what a drama, I normally don't do it until about the weekend before the big day but thought we'd do it early now that F is here - she didn't have a clue what was going on last year. As quick as the baubles were going on the tree someone was pulling them off. For about 2 minutes we entertained the idea of decorating the tree from half way up - the things that go through your mind for an easy life. We're off to see Santa tomorrow - I think F will HATE it, but we'll see.

Nat I was sick as a dog for the first 20 weeks with F then hideous heartburn for the next 20 - my mum swore this meant a hairy girl. She was right - a baby girl Elvis lookalikee. Grabs a mince pie off the table and scoffs it, swished down with a glass of Baileys - well it is Christmas... Xmas Grin

marzipananimal · 04/12/2011 18:47

Congratulations gya! Such lovely news :) Hope you're enjoying newborn cuddles and all doing well x

Woodlands · 04/12/2011 21:26

congrats gya!

soontobefatnat · 05/12/2011 18:07

Aww, brilliant news GYA!!! So cute that you've had a boy. Bet your girls are going to love bossing him around/taking care of him! And brilliant that you had a lovely quick labour - well done you!!! Feel free to report any of my posts you like Wink - do post a pic of the little man if you get the chance? Lots of love xx

CherryPie3 · 06/12/2011 07:42

Oh wow congratulations GYA! Boys are wonderfully caring loving creatures (and so are girls obv) Smile xx

Hope everyone is well, mums and babies alike.

Have been busy busy over last few days and from what I can see I'm likely to be busy for the next fortnight at least as in trying to get the house in some sort of order before the man in red arrives Wink

Sorry you're feeling so sick Nat, you'll soon be in 2nd trimester where hopefully the sickness will be a thing of the past :)

Must dash, it's a school morning after all and I have children to dress, feed etc :) xx

CherryPie3 · 06/12/2011 20:34

What a day! I never ever want to see the vacuum again, it seems to be all I've done today. I was trying to organise ds1's bedroom today and the amount of tissues, screwed up paper, broken felt tips etc ibfoundwas unbelievable! Looks like a different room altogether now.

Master bedroom and bathroom on agenda tomorrow.

And also making more Christmas decorations. And putting even more up!

Speaking of Christmas, is anyone on here thinking of not having a Christmas tree on the grounds that your little one is now active? My friend has decided not to have one as her ds (11m) may pull it over., I just thought this was a bit odd Confused. He'll be worse next Christmas -

Love to all xxx

OP posts:
girlsyearapart · 06/12/2011 21:45

We are going to have a smaller tree & put it on the table otherwise Tilly will just pull it over.
That's what we did when the others were at similar stages

Boy has a name now Henry Vincent ( my dads name as middle name)

He is very cute- can't post pics as I live in the dark ages & have no computer.
Haven't even updated my profile in about three years!

He is not very good at settling after feeds which is really very tiring especially as he is latching & feeding fine for up to an hour.
The midwife said today as long as I'm feeding at least every 3 hours for 20 + minutes to top him up with formula or expressed milk.

Just not practical for me to be up all night or constantly be feeding..
Ho hum this too shall pass ( but let it be quick)

marzipananimal · 06/12/2011 22:25

Lovely name :) Hope he gets into the swing of feeding and sleeping for you really quickly. Can't believe this is the 4th time you've done it! You must be a total pro Wink

We've just got a small tree on the shelf next to the TV. DH wanted a bigger one but I overruled as I don't want to have to police it all the time.

I got really cross with J at tea time today for rejecting my lovingly homemade pasta sauce, and throwing his substitute tea (toast and rice pudding) on the floor. I hope he doesn't wake hungry in the night. I find it so frustrating when he's fussy with food, but I suppose we're lucky to have had few problems so far.

Woodlands · 06/12/2011 22:58

We're not having a tree this year - it's a battle I can't face fighting. We're not home for Christmas itself so there will be a tree on the actual day for presents to go underneath!

Love the name gya.

marzipan I try to stay relaxed when J won't eat but it is hard. Especially because often if he tries a bit he decides he likes it and eats it all - but it's hard persuading him to try in the first place. He definitely eats less than he did a few months ago but I understand that is normal at this age. I just miss my good eater who would wolf anything down - now he is fussy as anything!
