MummyElk · 01/04/2011 22:01

now listen.... i was SUPPOSED to go to bikram tonight... so i've drunk a LOT of water and perhaps some wine
so DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH... or i'll wee on this thread....

elk watched some Embarrassing Bodies tonight.. cue awful questions "mummy why is his willy out" "Urgh mummy her foo-foo is yuk" "hairy BUMMMM!!!"

p.s. there's a nostalgic part of me that would very very much like to travel back one year...just for a bit... i know we were all getting used to it all but it was a bit magical, wasn't it...? Blush

oh no Melk I am ridiculously happy that DD2 is no longer breastfeeding and now sleeping through the night! I would cry big fat tears if I had to go back to looking after a newborn.
On that note I have two friends who have had April Fool babies today. A firstborn boy at 9lb 6oz to one couple and a second daughter nearly matching the enormous baby G at 11lb exactly for another couple. Grin
flip manda and rinders more big squishy hugs, thinking of you all.
Happy Birthday to Simeon!
I'm kind of getting used to the idea of having a one year old (and a three year old)!
DD2 is still not 'climbing like an evil genius' however she was trying to nose dive off the soft play cushions today - towards the carpet and not the soft cushions!

Pingpong · 02/04/2011 00:16

Oh pixie I've just realised......... Is that a subtle clue about the flavour of baby no. 6 if you are selling off DSs clothes ? !

Arcadie · 02/04/2011 16:46

I arrived and fell over! hahahah! OH dear- no wine in site either!

Weather was fab so we had a picnic on the grass surrounded by water falls was beautiful-

The lo's were fab , Elliott and ICWAS LO kept us busy trying to escape! ICWAS took lots of pics, and there are already some on FB by siamese too :)

erm dont know what else to say- ...... will let the others xxxxx

RubyLovesMayMay · 02/04/2011 19:22

Awww slimmingsarahandco thats a lovely thing to say. We had a great time too. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

The weather turned out good, which was a bonus.

Kids were adorable and food was lovely.

Wish I'd have found this thread last year, would have been lovely to have been on here with people going through the same as me...well, Im here now Smile

Hope everyone got back okay, I met DH and FIL in town so got a lift home instead of the bus, bonus!

DH has gone out for a mates B-day so thought I could entertain MayMay with her pop up ball pit, but she keeps climbing out of it to fetch the balls Hmm so gonna go and stop neglecting her and find something for us to do.

Flisspaps · 02/04/2011 19:28

Love the pictures on FB, can't wait to see the shots the IWCAS took. Really enjoyed meeting those of you who were there, and your gorgeous toddlers. We make beautiful children!

What a wonderful way to spend afternoon, so much so that it wasn't even spoiled by a very late, very rammed train where I parked up next to the loo and then subsequently some poor man was ill in it

Thoroughly enjoyed myself and I think DD did too as she was fast asleep in her bed by 6.45pm Grin and I don't care if she doesn't stay there as it's DH's night on duty haha!

SiameseCatWoman · 02/04/2011 19:37

We had a really really lovely time, thank you.
Had to run for the train and just made it. DD was a total angel all day, even on the trains, she sat nicely on her seat and charmed the other passengers. A complete contrast to the Edinburgh trip!

Really nice to meet ruby too and her beautiful DD. Also nice to have a fellow Yorkshire person around, in arcadie's absence. :)

Thanks for the food too :)

DD was also shattered but has only just gone down as she threw up from coughing and required another pair of pjs.

Oo DH has cleaned the kitchen, put on some washing and is making tea. :)

Sariska · 02/04/2011 19:48

So glad you all had a lovely time and so gutted I had to miss it. Better luck next time for me maybe!

Elk magical indeed. Oh don't start me off. I've had wine. I'll cry. But they were so small, fragile, and, well, new. They had yet to smile, but had observed so many smiles. I remember the scaly, scrawny limbs of my one week old son, flailing around in a sea of light blue wool. Tight, puffy eyes like he'd been in a boxing ring, squinting up at me, so utterly dependent.

The photos I've seen on FB of the meeting in Birm are really good.

evitas · 02/04/2011 21:41

The photos on FB are great!

Manda is back from the hospital, so if you can drop a line at her thread. I got very emotional while reading everything.

Flisspaps · 02/04/2011 21:51

IWCAS Don't worry about thinking you have run out of social skills - it's hard to get a proper conversation going when you're busy chasing entertaining a toddler intent on kamikaze-ing off a concrete ledge to get to a fountain whilst using the picnic as an obstacle course Wink I know that I was too busy worrying that the only thing I was saying was 'No, Ruby, not on the chicken/tomatoes/muffins' to notice if anyone else had lost the art of conversation!

I'm surprised my arse crack didn't render everyone speechless anyway Blush

Flisspaps · 02/04/2011 21:51

evitas will do.

scooby26 · 02/04/2011 22:25

Evening all, night from hell here last night- screamed at 12.30 and at least every half hr until 7am. Brought him in with me and he still woke screaming frequently. Didn't get ANY sleep at all- can't with a lump of lard lying on me. So sadly had to miss kylie in Manchester tonight that I'd paid 80quid for. I honestly could not face the 3am arrive home and the noise being soooo tired. Only stayed up til now Cos I'm nightshift tomorrow night!

Looks like bham meet went well- good photos!!!!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

MissPenteuth · 02/04/2011 22:44

You were fine iwcas, honest. Be thankful you had some social skills to begin with unlike me! Fliss is dead right, it's damn near impossible to have a proper chat when you're chasing a toddler around. I'm lucky if I get to finish a sentence half the time, never mind a full conversation.

I'm not long home and I'm shattered, but it was lovely to see mums and babies again, and to meet a few new faces too. And welcome to the --madness- thread RubyLovesMayMay :)

Shroomer, :) and also :( at your post. It seems impossibly long ago that they were teeny scrunched-up newborns, but at the same time this year has gone by in a flash.

scooby oh no, you poor thing missing out on the concert. We had a bad night last night too (typical, the day I have to drive to Birmingham and back). Hope you have a better night tonight.

FlipFantasia · 02/04/2011 22:44

Brum pictures are amazing - IWCAS you have a great talent for photos! The babies (and mums!) all look gorgeous!

Rubylovesmaymay hello and welcome Smile. I'm glad you've found us and that you enjoyed the day!

Manda I've posted on your thread. Such a terrible thing you're going through Sad

Big waves to everyone else. Wishing everyone a happy mothers' day for tomorrow!

I'm afraid it's all over for me - I passed the sac yesterday evening Sad and am still bleeding, more heavily now. Thank god I'm not in any physical pain though (just emotional pain Sad). I'll use next Friday's follow-up scan as confirmation that I've had a MC. And am now trying to move on from our natural miracle pregnancy that wasn't meant to be. DH is being amazing, and DS is being a delight, which definitely helps.

MissPenteuth · 02/04/2011 22:48

Oh no Flip, I'm so sorry. We were thinking of you today at the meet-up, wondering how you're doing. Big hugs x

evitas · 02/04/2011 22:53

Flip, I'm so sorry (words always fail me).
Glad that DS and DH are being great.

Hugs
x
