Welcome to those with a March 2010.
Happy Easter from me....
Unwrap it quick!..

Oh, it's a new thread. Sad I was hoping for chocolate.

OP posts:

Pingpong · 14/06/2011 22:20

brilliant news about the non redundancy fliss Grin

Pingpong · 14/06/2011 22:25

oooh and heckle fingers crossed for interview (and lots of sleep at the weekend) sorry you are feeling a bit down and DD1 has the wobbles. My DD1 is loving 'school' right now which is a relief.

slimmingsarahandco · 15/06/2011 13:28

how very exciting all this talk of more dc's is- i am still sad that i am never having anymore= tbf i couldnt have anymore from a financial and a space point of view but i miss the teeny tiny knackering bit :) ho hum-

all good here, Rosie and i have just baked some blueberry muffins, apple muffins and raisin muffins! yum- they smell fab x

she is now doing her 5 free nursery sessions and is loving it- keeps begging to start school in september...... she has another year yet! cant offer much help with school wobble- i am afraid it could just be that nursery etc are talking about the move alot and she is a bit worried- i am sure she will settle and be totally fine :) harry was when he started school after a few tears x

Sariska · 15/06/2011 16:34

That's great news on the job front for your DH, Fliss (and, while, I'm here: what's this about hair colour choices??? Your hair? In which case, I think purple would be nice.)

Good luck for the job interview Heckle - and enjoy your sleepathon. Hope you can convince DH that that's how you spend at least some of the time.

How is DS's Hand Foot & Mouth, ang? My DS had it when he was a bit younger than yours and it really was pretty horrible, particularly the blisters inside his mouth, which made him cry with pain when he tried to suck.

Great news on the possible TTC front, Fliss and Siamese. I have to say that I'm with sarah and am a little Envy. There is another round of newly announced pregnancies at work, which have also made me think. I just have to keep telling myself that I am done. I am. I am. I am. And that it is hormones that make me think otherwise. And that as long as no-one announces they are pg with a 3rd, I will get over this feeling .

Anyway, I can barely cope with the two I have right now, ever since DD has, obviously in homage to our thread title, taken up extreme mountaineering. Watching her climbing and jumping all over beds, chairs, windowsills etc, all whilst laughing hysterically, makes me go cold inside.

Uh, meeting. Gotta go.

PacificDogwood · 15/06/2011 22:50
Blush

ang, I am sorry, I've not been around due to our own pestilence illness problems. I hope T is better by now. FWIW, what you posted did not sound typical of Hand, Foot and Mouth - but then, it can of course by atypical. How is he now?

Good luck with TTC, job interviews, haircuts and all other undertakings. And huzzah to MrFliss' job situation - that must be such a relief.

Just briefly, looks like Joe is finally getting better: today is day 10 of sore mouth for him. He is surviving exclusively on milk, still, including chicken-korma-poos Shock. His tongue is looking better, still not right, but I was unreasonably excited today when he ate half a biscuit Hmm. I am NOT enjoying the thrice daily headlock I have to get him in to force his antibiotic down his throat Sad - I cannot look him in the eye while I am doing it, 'tis just awful. Anyhow, it's working, so needs must, and all that.

DH has been away the last couple of days (some conference of other apparently - maybe he is just in the local Travelodge for a bit of peace and quiet Wink), so bedtimes and getting-up-and-out-of-the-house for 4 on my own - aaaaaaaargh!! TTSP, TTSP, TTSP. Actually, it is going alright - or maybe I have become more tolerant of hearing Joe cry in the last week or 2...

So I just really, really go to bed now. Yes, I should. In a sec', I will, honest.

Night, night.
Smile

PacificDogwood · 15/06/2011 22:54

And Joe does this
Anybody else??

angfirsttimer · 16/06/2011 07:33

Thanks PD and the rest of you for your get well messages. Sorry to hear J still not right PD.

Well it is definitely hand foot and mouth, blisters/ulcers on hands and feet, in his mouth, and he is off his food. Poor little think his mouth is really hurting him.

Fliss good news about your DH

Shock at the thought of another March baby!

Right back to the diseased child !

AfriBaby · 16/06/2011 18:36

greetings ladies, hope all poorly diseased babies get better soon (we have a snot monster - its winter here!). Congrats heckle on interview and good luck! fliss you must be so relieved!
PD DD did that too, but then just stopped - was horrible while it lasted though!

STILL no news here on DHs possible job - arrgh. The waiting is SO frustrating. Feel we can't quite move on and plan the rest of the year until we know what's happening with that.

TTCing until a couple of weeks ago I would have been Shock at the thought - something must have changed hormonally, because I can imagine the possibility now - but am very very far away from considering it seriously.

AF has returned, after just about exactly 2 years. PMS has returned too. :( Think I will go drink a BIG G&T.

BlueyDragon · 16/06/2011 23:11

Poor T, ang - will nursery have him back with HFM? I only ask because ours always would, but then DD was never very ill with it and it may actually have been mild chickenpox. Hope he gets well soon.

Fliss, great news about DH and loving the hair!

PD, poor Joe and poor you. Hope he gets better soon too.

Fingers crossed on the interview, Heckle - I know what you mean about the pull between home and work though.

Thanks for asking, the nanny is working out ok thus far (week 2). The food bill has rocketed and the Ocado man practically lives here, but at least we're not filling up the car every two weeks (ginormous Surrey acceptable 4 wheel drive large thing suitable for invading small principalities, so no small bill at the pump) so the two about balance out. And gradually we're getting to grips with the change in regime and calming down about things like A ever getting to meet any other children or do messy painting (which he loves), or DD spending any time with her nursery friends. It's not wrong, it's just, well, different really. And I've been paid the biggest compliment ever in that my home and family have twice been described as "normal" by professional nannies. I must be doing something right Grin.

Did anyone watch OBEM USA? 90% epidural rate - I wonder if the NHS was watching!

MandaHugNKiss · 17/06/2011 11:59

Just hopping on to mark spot as the thread fell off my actives a long time ago

Need to back read. Inbetween, y'know, dealing with James and obsessing about it bein cd13 with NO SIGN of O [hmmm].

PacificDogwood · 19/06/2011 21:41

Oh my, it's quiet in here Smile.

News headlines:
Joe is better but not back to normal yet. Poor me him.
DS3 is still an insane threenager who has now mastered the art of "scootering". Jump aside when you see him coming Grin!!
DS2 made a sweet Father's Day thingmy for DH - awww.
DS1 has discovered cooking/baking and made shortbread yesterday and puff pastry tomato spirals for lunch today - wheyhey!

Hope all daddies had a lovery Father's Day Smile.

evitas · 20/06/2011 20:10

"Shhhh, Shhhh
It's, oh, so quiet shh,shh
It's, oh, so still shh,shh
You're all alone shh, shh
And so peaceful until..."

Hope everyone is well. PD I hope J. gets 100% soon.
DS has been in bed for 25 minutes and I can still hear him chatting with his cat (soft toy - not a real one). I can foresee an interesting evening/night Hmm

evitas · 20/06/2011 20:12

oh I forgot. Does anyone remember Pixie's due date? I remember it's july, but beginning, end... ??
Pixie, if you are lurking, I hope everything is well! Miss you x

Hurray for some good news on the thread!
And hope hot baby cooled down.

MissPenteuth · 21/06/2011 19:03

Nice to hear some good news. Brilliant news for Fliss and DH, well done scooby, and Sariska, how exciting! :)

evitas I think Pixie's due date was July 23rd, or thereabouts.

Flisspaps · 21/06/2011 19:27

Hooray for Scooby and Sariska Grin and for heckle's job interview Grin

The new words are coming all the time here. Favourites seem to be 'get down', 'no' and 'mum, mum, mum' Hmm Grin as well as a collection of very sweet animal noises. Ofsted finally ok'd the garden last Friday so we have been outside at last during working hours, and rather suddenly I seem to have made the leap from 'not quite ready for DC2' to 'lets get on with it NOW' (not literally now as I am typing) but we are now technically ttc I suppose.

And thanks about the hair, it is not as red as I wanted but next time it should go redder :) I love it.

DizziDoll · 21/06/2011 23:04

Hooray for the good news!! The longest day of the year is over and i MUST slep. Night night

BlueyDragon · 22/06/2011 18:48

Congratulations Scooby! Brilliant result. And on b*gger all sleep, too.

Ohh, Sariska, I'd been wondering about the masters thing. I bet you know what you want to do though...

Love all the new baby words.

A is walking! Well, he is if he forgets to notice he's walking iyswim. So when he's in a rage, basically. Just a few steps, but it's progress. As for talking, I get home last night and he crawls into the kitchen, beams with delight and shouts....

"Daddy!"
