Morning all. I have a message from Pixie; I've had an email from her this morning and she's had to leave MN suddenly due to anonymity issues. She asked me to let you all know, and says she'll miss everyone. It sounds like a bit of a nightmare :(

I'd be up for contributing too Melk. Lovely idea :)

Also up for London MMMM. I'm away on holiday from May 6th-13th, pretty flexible any other time.

Pacific Glad to hear your Dad's doing better. We have all recovered from our illness here, although Izzy is still teething intermittently.

Hope you have a lovely weekend in France Flip, what part are you going to?

evitas · 26/04/2011 10:54

MissP since everyone is doing individual donations I'll do the same and save you time.

What a strange thing with Pixie! I hope she's well. We are going to miss her, and her wise words.

Melk I also would like to contribute.

very envy of the London MMMM.
Shall I try to persuade people to come over to Scotland some point in the summer for a MMM - at least there wont be snow to ruin our plans, perhaps rain Hmm ... but oh well... this is Scotland, we are all use to it.

Hope everyone is well
x

MissPenteuth · 26/04/2011 11:02

evitas Pixie will indeed be missed. I hope she'll still be able to lurk and even send us covert updates from time to time :) I'm going to be in Edinburgh from 13th-18th July if you (and anyone else) want to meet up for coffe/lunch.

evitas · 26/04/2011 11:23

MissP I'll definitely meet you for lunch :) Can't wait to see I. again!
Shall we try and convince others?! PD, Heckle, Dalrymps, Scooby, Siamese... who else would like to join us?

SiameseIfYouPlease · 26/04/2011 13:28

I'm up for that Evitas, I'll come up the same week as Missp and visit the zoo with DD too :) she loves animals and goes crackers when she spots one- even a fly or the penguin on a book spine!!

Also in Melk on a birthday gift for rinders. I know she loves entertaining and cooking, does that help? What about (if we can manage it) a 'day with a chef' where you go to a top restaurant and hang out with the chef? Or does that sound too specialist? From what I can see she has a loving network of RL people who may help with childcare?

missp I've used the justgiving page, thanks for the idea.

pacific well done on the bra burning. Have a star for feeding for so long :) and all four?! Any tips on how to give up? I'm now down to the bedtime feed only.

I've so much else to say but I'm on iPhone so crazy to try.
I'll just wave a sad bye to pixie and hope she pops back to tell us about dc6 :)

Secret Scottish meet up_ V2 here

MandaHugNKiss · 26/04/2011 18:42

bluey I've seen an email notification that I have a PM... so it must be working. Haven't read it yet though. Will do v soon.

I can't believe pixie won't be here anymore. Given we are both Mothers of teen girls, March 2010's and others inbetween (plus both kinda, mature) I feel like I've lost someone that knows, y'know?

pixie if you're reading this, I truly hope you find your way home a way to post again. I'll miss you.

I can smell my dinner burning, so have to dash before I'm eating cinders instead of 'gastropub' meatballs from dear old m&s. Gah.

Flisspaps · 26/04/2011 20:33

I do hope Pixie will feel able to eventually return to us under a new name :(

squiggleywiggler · 26/04/2011 20:42

I am totally up for a birthday girt for Rinders and will donate via the link. Thinking of cooking/entertaining with young children, I have an idea for a prezzie. Will PM you in case Rinders checks in.

Pixie I know you'll find a way back somehow but in the meantime we love you and will be thinking of you.

MummyElk · 26/04/2011 22:05

v quick....
Shock at pixie - can't quite get my head around her not being around....]sad]....for the moment at least.... [hopeful]

In fact if you are interested (cos i have a very small brain and can't really compute) can you either facebook-message me or PM me with your interest if you are interested and then I can get a proper list together for the gift tag attached to Whatever We Buy Her...

MummyElk · 26/04/2011 22:24

slimmingsarahandco · 27/04/2011 21:27

checking in- lovely idea melk- how we sorting money etc ?

MummyElk · 28/04/2011 08:37

Have fbked you sarah.
Couple more coming in on it now which is great.
I've had a tipoff of something she likes so off to shops today to get it. Will keep you posted. (I don't mean to be cryptic but aware R could read this, and want it to be a surprise)

slimmingsarahandco · 28/04/2011 12:15

hi all, thanks melk- have sent it :)

how is everyone doing-

wil not be the same round here without pixie x

MandaHugNKiss · 28/04/2011 14:50

Firstly - I would like to donate to R's bday fund too! Um. Not sure if we're fb friends, I really don't like the damn thing and only log in to nose at other people's -lives- photos now and then.

Secondly - I attempted The Shred yesterday. Was dying going great guns, surprising myself. Even though it was hurting, and my limbs had moments of feeling like jelly not so much that I couldn't carry on. UNTIL the third round of cardio and I was getting sharp stabby pains in my uterus. I took that as A Sign and decided it was sensible to Listen To My Body and stopped there. Today, I've got DOMS in my glutes, calves and tris so it's clearly done something. But I don't think I'll be able to do it today as I was out stuffing my face at Greedies with a fry up whilst James had his nap that would have been 'work out' time. Still, considering the sharp pains maybe its best I ease in and try again tomorrow.

I couldn't be less interested in the wedding tomorrow if I tried ok, mildly curious to see the dress. Am I a bad Briton?

MandaHugNKiss · 29/04/2011 14:59

Really?! No posts since yesterday afternoon?

Just popped on to say hope everyone is making the most of the extra bank holiday...

melk Just read your PM and acted accordingly. Smile

Arcadie · 29/04/2011 17:09

Sorry - too busy watching a beautiful wedding!!! I really enjoyed the sense of state and occasion....

What are DOMS??

OP posts:
MandaHugNKiss · 30/04/2011 09:44

DOMS is 'fitness speak' - despite never really partaking myself, I picked up a lot of it from exDH who is a personal trainer.

Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. Loosely translates in my case to I Was Aching Almost Everywhere, Quite A Lot.

Didn't get a chance to do it again yesterday today's not looking too good either...

Actually, I'm kinda double booked today. It's my best friends birthday and whilst I can't go for the full shebang (which will involve lots of drunken carnage, I should think, come the end of the night) it's starting with food/drinks in Richmond which she'd like me to attend with James (given I've got nobody to leave him with...). But there's also a family fun day thing that DP is going to with his DD and expects James and I to attend with him too. Hmmm. I see someone is going to be disappointed and I'll have to feel The Guilt. Not entirely sure on the timings of things so maybe, just maybe I can do both.

Yesterday, I got to fairly late in the evening before I realised I hadn't had any 'this time four weeks ago' thoughts... Four weeks. Is that really all it takes for me to forget about him?

evitas · 30/04/2011 11:51

Exercise... I do not know what that is Blush ! My days have been spent at home, in front of the computer.... but I'm already working on my last chapter.

Got some lovely flowers and chocolates in the post this morning - my father and grandmother sent it (it's my birthday tomorrow and mother's day back home).

Melk I've PM you, I hope you got my message.
And Rinders... what a brave person she is! Her tribute to R. was beautiful.

I wonder how Pixie is...

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the good weather.
x
