Ok better not hijack the thread any longer plus I am very close to winning a fabulous multi-coloured travel cot on ebay! I'll give you a ring! x

DaF - I don't think my boys had cut their first teeth at this stage but then again, some babies are born with teeth so I guess it can happen at any time. It's one of those things you are only certain about retrospectively!

I'm averting my eyes from the buggy talk! I am using the one we bought when I was expecting DS1, 6 years ago, and which I never used a great deal at the time as I relied on a sling, then an umbrella buggy (now deceased), then a double ATP (by InStep and fabulous). I'm getting much more use out of it this time as I'm not using the sling, but it looks VERY antwacky and dates me as someone whose baby-related spending peaked c.1999 . However DH has just spent a fortune on a new pair of wellies (yes, we are THAT cool) so I may have an easier time persuading him that a new buggy is in order.

Wonder how your Urban would perform against the Terrain, hc, on wet / rough ground with wheel locked...

Oh more buggy talk!!! Right well, went to favourite nursery shop this morning to have a play with all the fancy light as a feather buggies only to discover that it had closed down!!! HC, there was an orange stripey MB in the window just like yours (I'm tempted to phone the recievers and make them an offer ). I was just thinking to myself that maybe I won't bother with a new one but now I've read this thread!

Mrsd, how about this .

I have just tried dd with a new teat on her bottles- and discovered that they are just that little bit too fast when I had a cascade of milk all down my back and into places where it really shouldn't go.... just thought I'd share the joy.

Heloooo, is anybody there? This thread has gone very quiet! Daf, interested to know about bottles, as we are using the Avent ones but ds2 sometimes struggles with them or just gives up. Didn't you say that you were using Tommee Tippee ones? Which sort as there seem to be lots, also has anyone used MAM Ultivent? I had a quick look in John Lewis at the weekend and that was all I could find.

Hello - do you like the dress I've got for dd?

Christmas party dress

Was panicking last night as ds would not settle, had hardly slept all day and had a meeting at 7pm. Fortunately he fell asleep in the car on the way and stayed asleep all the way through, home again and right up to my bedtime, fed quickly and straight back to sleep.

It is very pretty Eulalia .

Very pretty Eulalia!
So far I have bought dd a black cat outfit from Asda so she matches our puss and I intend to get her the mini reindeer outfit from mothercare for Christmas reindeer
just for the sheer cute factor!

Bagpuss- yes, we are now using tommee tippee, the nuby ones which are working out great for us, dd burps like a trouper now. The only drawback has been finding stockists for the 3mnth+ teats as not many places do them. We finally found them at Waitrose so all is well in babyland and dd is happily taking 180ml at each daytime feed in about 15 mins. Bliss.

On a real downer I am having such aggro finding childcare so all my spare time is being spent phoning round people. You'd think I was in the middle of nowhere not in the middle of London!

black cat suit! That sounds fantastic. Our cat is black too. What size do they make up to? I've been sick for the past 24 hours - dh had to take the day of work - so hopefully I'll now have lost all my baby weight and maybe I can treat myself to a new cat suit? I've got some fleecy black trousers and a fleecey black top which I use as my cat suit, but a proper one..... Failing the lack of my size I must get one for dd2.

Very pretty dress Eulalia. We've brought dd1 a snow white dress for her christmas present. she's obsessed by princesses.

v pretty dress Eulalia. DaF (great name!), v cute outfits! I sympathise about the childcare. I had the same dilemma when DS2 was born. Every nanny I met seemed to have scores of other job offers so decided them on criteria like parking!

DD and I went to Water Babies today. She did her first "release" - where I let her go when she was underwater. She was brilliant and swam up towards the surface

I weighed myself in Boots today and have a very bad feeling that I am a porker. It is in Kgs though so I don't know quite how porky! I think the whole truth would be too traumatic so I will cling onto my ignorance.

stick with kilos, mrsd. and don't tell anyone. that's my excuse & i'm sticking to it.... lovely dress eulalia, isn't e-bay wonderful. this is the prettiest thing i've got for dd so far . though i did buy rather a lot from a french site the other day. why is internet shopping so easy...?! and she has soooooooo many clothes, what with ds' old ones, presents, things passed down from friends. lucky she's still sleeping in our room as hers is entirely given over to clothes.

not much to report here. both children up at 6:30. huh. still, no stirring before that. i do so hate getting up when it's dark though.

Don't talk about weight, I'm back to pre-pg size but am still hideously fat.

HC, internet shopping is very easy, perhaps too easy I think. trouble is when you have a boy, the clothes opportunities diminish somewhat and so most of my time is spent looking at cute nappies and baby gadgets that we don't really need . I do like this site for interesting t-shirts. Somebody bought us a babygrow from there for ds2 which is really lovely.

My older two were up at 5.30 this morning so am sympathising HC.

oh bagpuss, that's just too early. are they asleep again now?! i am planning on naps for us all after lunch - yay. still, we were watching tikkabilla & ds's nursery was on which entertained us.

no added sugar v. good - dd has a mummy & daddy tattoo jumper. in fact, i think she may wear it today!

ah stop with the cute clothes - this is the very adult reason i wanted a girl when i first fell pg - wouldn't swap vin for the world etc etc etc but OH!

DAF - you're scaring me - I'm in Kentish Town (at the moment) and am not looking forward to doing what you're doing now. Are you due back at work then? I was due back Feb, but am pushing it back to April, as we have to move house end of Jan and don't know where we'll be.

We hope to find a part-time nanny for 3 days a week until Vin is about 18 months, then send him to nursery. Does this sound a sensible goal? I would rather he was more social and vocal before he goes into group care, given that we are lucky enough to have the choice. xfx

Hi laydees,

Wondered if anyone was having (or has had) issues with growth curves / head circumference etc. dd's head is not quite as ginormous as it should be... (thread ).

Lovely links to girls' clothes BTW.

Congrats on your e-bay wins !

Avent bottles aren't good IMHO - no proper vent system - anything with a proper method of air release (slitted NUK teats / tomee tippee / B-free will be better (IMHO).

Sorry you're worried Hub. DD's neurologist recently asked me to get her head measured every 2 weeks, and the response I've had from people at the "coal face" (HV, GP etc), with whom I agree, is that it is a waste of time as it is such a subjective measurement. You can reduce the margin of error by having the same person measure with the same tape measure, but it's still pretty inaccurate. And as you know, I am very quick to worry about DD's head!

I know that you are aware of all the variations in measurement but sometimes it helps if someone else says it

Is your DD going to be referred to a hospital paed or to a neurologist (or not referred at all)?

HC, no way not back to sleep had to get ready for school run (can you believe that I nearly typed FUN there!). Bet dd looks divine in that jumper too . I have just been back to the NAS site and was dismayed to find that I have to wait for the shoes so have consoled myself with some stuff for ds2 from cut4cloth .

MB, you are moving again? You are very brave. We last moved house 4 years ago and I swore that we would never move again as it was so much hassle with baby ds1 in tow.

Hub, right, heads eh? Well, ds1 and dd have always had smaller heads in relation to their growth curves and not at all in proportion to their height etc. ds2, despite being in clothes way bigger than his actual age (is on between 75th and 91st %ile I think) has a head on 50th at the moment so again not really in relation to anything else although his weight and height tally. I suppose what I am trying to say is that it may just be in Camille's genetic make up to the way she is - although it is difficult to know with her being your first of course.

Thanks Hub and Diamonds for the bottle advice. I had a look in Mothercare yesterday at the TT Healthcheck ones (similar to b Free with the straw in the centre) and thought that they looked quite good. I have only ever used Avent stuff before and have never found them a problem but am finding that they leak all over ds and me when the skirt/valve thingy doesn't quite work properly during feeding. ds also possets a lot - three changes of clothes before 10 am today and one of those he was sick on before I'd even had a chance to put them on him .
